5 reviews for Pizzeria Piccola
Have been here almost 50 times... great place to grab lunch. I also discovered San Pellegrino Aranciata here for the first time. Try it if you like lighter sodas.
Each pizza has its own qualities, all are tasty though. My favorite is the margherita. Chicken Sausage celery and pine nuts is good as well, a little on the oily side. The Spicy Pepperoni is great as well, also oily though. The half salad and half pizza is a deal.
Great homemade pizza, and now with gluten free crust! Their salads and pasta are good too. Love the live music on Fridays on the patio. Good selection of beer and wine. Nice they added free delivery service and you can carry out as well. Inside can be very noisy, especially with large groups and children. I prefer outdoor seating with the live music on Fridays. Don't forget to try their gelato.
This place is so adorable. Cute brick building in downtown Wauwatosa. I was in love when I walked up and could smell basil coming from inside!
Pizzas are a good size, nice and light. My only complaint was they tend to overflour the bottom of the pizza. I tend to get that chalky white flour all over which is kind of odd.
The bread dough ball appetizer is a nice light alternative to breadsticks, lightly seasoned with a side of sauce. I love the lunch special, 1/2 pizza & 1/2 salad, it's perfect!
I haven't tried the pasta but my friends love it. I also noticed on my last visit they have a frozen section of pizzas & pastas to go. Next time I'll try that.
My guy and I ate here last week on a trip to Michigan. We're fan of Punch Pizza in the Twin Cities, so we're always on the lookout for Neapolitan-style pizza (VPN-certified or not).
I echo what the other two reviews said: it's a quaint, little pizzeria with friendly service, pizzas that are small but filling, and a pleasant indoor dining area. (There is a very cool outdoor area, but we opted not to eat out because of the weather.) I was also glad to see that the Caesar salad dressing contained anchovy; far too many places play it safe with Caesar dressing and skip that essential ingredient.
Should we ever find ourselves in the area again, we'll certainly make a stop there.
we have driven by here many times and finally decided to stop. we're so glad we did!! we've been on the hunt for a hip pizza place, and this is it! the pizza was delicious. the service was friendly. they have a real open fire pizza oven. the space is stylish. there is a great outdoor patio as well.
