I went there after a night out in 6th street. Me and some other friends felt hungry and went and ate. I think this Pizzeria is not bad at all. I don't know why people keep complaining.

We went on a Saturday night after we had been drinking on 6th street and got a whole pizza for $20 (they said $24 at first, but my friend got it for 20).  It was pepperoni and sausage and not my favorite.  It was overcooked and not very tasty.  Some of the by-the-slice pieces looked better and not overcooked, but ours was burnt.  

The sauce, cheese, and crust were not the best on 6th imho.  I wanted Ropollo's, and I will definitely avoid Paparazzi next time.

You are probably asking yourself why this place is both a pizzeria AND a place for adult entertainment. Simply put, the food isn't the main attraction here. A mural painted inside the Pizzeria Paparazzi is the only notable thing about this joint that is frequented by those who are stumbling around 6th street at 3am, looking for some sustenance to prevent digestive mishaps from overindulging in adult beverages.

The owner of the joint works the counter and he is painted on the mural. The artist was described as a local Austinite who roams the streets of Austin without a place to call home. His artwork is an attempt to capture famous Austinites in line to get a slice. Willie Nelson, Kinky Friedman, Lance Armstrong, Clifford Antone, and Sandra Bullock are just a few of the celebrities showcased on the wall. A few other faces don the wall that may be considered not-quite-as-famous as those listed in the sentence preceding, including Leslie Cohran a cross dressing crusader for homeless rights, and Pinetop Perkins.

An easily overlooked detail that happened to be caught by my critical sociological eye, is the fact that Pinetop Perkins is being portrayed with the largest package anyone has ever seen. We are talking bigger than Dirk Diggler himself! The alarming part about it is that he is the only person of color on that wall, and he's specifically African American. All the other men on the wall either have no package, or very tiny ones. This enraged me...OK, so, I am a race scholar.

Black men have be hyper-sexualized for centuries! I won't even go into the argument about why this is problematic. Besides perpetuating dangerous stereotypes, it serves as an insult to all men regardless of race. Why aren't more people angry about this!?!

I didn't even know who Pinetop Perkins was, not being a true Austinite. I had to google him and found out that he is a 94-year-old blues musician that still plays weekly gigs at the Broken Spoke. OK, really? This 94-year-old blues icon is being painted in a pimp suit with the largest dong known to man? This was a real problem for me. The artist had a phone number at the bottom of his mural. I immediately called the number, but it was disconnected.

Thoroughly dissatisfied, I decided to take matters into my own hands and eradicate said mural. I can't give too many details, but my attempts have been thwarted several times. If you want to see the mural for yourself, hurry before the package is gone.
