Review from Sean B.
Their thick crust pizza is very different from what I've had anywhere else. That is not a bad thing. Let me describe the differences:
Rather than a "doughy crust" it is a crisp crust bottom and puffs up sort of like a biscuit with the ingredients on top. It was HUGE (we ordered the large) and it has taken me the better part of a week to eat the leftovers one piece at a time (which heat up nicely in the microwave after about 2 minutes, and then 5 minutes in a cast iron pan to crisp up the bottom, try it, it's amazing).
I had the "coronary pizza" which has many types of meat on it. You get a LOT of food for the value here.
I bumped into friends on the way in. Apparently the secret of a best buy is out.
The sauce is ordinary for a pizza, it is the composition of the crust that makes this pizza stand out. It makes it taller and fluffier than normal deep dish but just as filling.
The ambiance is very plain in here, normal for a pizza place, but you can sit in there which is nice for a place that does a lot of take out. You can also park in the parking lot free, which meant a trip to the nearby dollar store (which is amazing!).
They sold coke by the liter, which is fine, that was enough for a few pizzas.
I'll be back here. I look forward to trying the thin pizzas too. They gave me a lot of coupons at the end, which is always appreciated. -

WORST experience EVER.
I ordered pasta and a pizza bread for delivery. It was supposed to take an hour.
Waited an hour and a half, called to check on it. The man on the phone said: "I'm sorry, our delivery guy just got here, he left with your order 10 minutes ago, your food will be there shortly" Well, at least he apologized.
OK whatever, maybe they have a busy night, stuff happens. Another 15 minutes pass and the delivery man walks in (I ordered to my workplace) and yells out: "somebody order food?!" (that was very unprofessional by the way, I would actually call it "ghetto" if you will)
I acknowledged the delivery man and said: "You know, you're almost an hour late?" and all he did was LAUGH and say "ya" So this is the reason I left $16.70 on a $16.69 order.
Yes, the man on the phone apologized to me for the order being late. Maybe my expectations are too high wanting the delivery man at least say "ya, sorry" but it completely ruined my appetite and I will never order from here again.
PS. The food wasn't worth it either. Pizza bread was soggy, greasy and the cheese was breaking (it's supposed to be melty not flaky) and it came on regular hoagie bread - what a ripoff... The Chicken Arrabbiata Pasta was so spicy even a spicy food lover couldn't eat it. The broccoli in it smelled funny and the chicken was dry.
Should of cancelled my order when first checking on my late order. -

I fully acknowledge that my review is based on a one-time experience but that one experience is enough to make me not want to order from here again.
I was over at a friend's place not fat from P.A.. We decided to order a medium pizza and we're told delivery would take 45 minutes which is average for any pizza place.
Unfortunately we waited much longer than 45 minutes for our pizza to be delivered. At the hour mark I checked in with the restaurant to be told by the person who answered (possibly the owner) that they he said it would take an hour, they were short staffed, and our pizza would be delivered shortly. I reminded him that I was told 45 minutes but he most certainly did not want to hear it so I let him believe what he wanted.
When an hour and fifteen minutes passed I contacted the restaurant again to have the person (possibly the owner) get upset with me and go on about them being short-staffed. He told me our pizza had finally left for delivery.
And finally.... an hour and a half later our pizza was delivered. But when we looked at the total we were a bit shocked. He had charged us for additional sauce but never mentioned on the phone and the kicker was the delivery charge which was shown on the receipt as "fast delivery." You have got to be kidding.
Of course, we called the restaurant again to ask about the "fast" delivery charge to which we were told, usually it is fast. Personally I do not care what you normally are - that night there was absolutely nothing fast about that delivery.
Hearing my friend in the background state she was going to write a YELP review got us an immediate response with the person on the phone offering us a $5 credit for the next time we ordered. No thank you, neither one of us ever planned to order from them again. And at this point my friend was adament about writing the review.
We were then told her card would be credited $5. It has been several weeks and we have given them adequate time to follow through on what they promised but her card was never credited.
And to make matters worse, the pizza wasn't even that good. There was nothing memorable about it. It wasn't spectacular in any way - lacking in taste abd freshness.
From now on I am sticking to what I know is good. Pie Hole easily has my vote from incredibly tasty and fresh pizza. -

Small eat-in set up, opening right on to a bus stop. Pizza's OK, could be better situated.

i really liked my experience here. cute little place, bomb-ass pasta for a delicious price, and fast friendly service. we did dine-in, and the only 'off' thing was the journey to the bathroom.

I have been ordering from this place for over 10 years now. They have always been fast and efficient. The pastas are fantastic (get the jalapeno ravioli!!). Jim the owner is great and will take good care of you.

I was power walking the LSD and decided to check my smartphone for nearby deals. Groupon offered an evening use certificate for a 16" thin pie with one topping for $7 dollars! We were walking up a storm so we decided we deserved the calories. Maybe not but it was a great deal not to pass up.
So we ordered the pie and on the side we got the Memphis style fries (Flava fries). Think loaded fries which they offer a number of styles and this one had barbecue sauce with bacon topping. I made an error when ordering and assumed we would get it in the waffle style but since I said "Memphis fries" got the typical french fry with topping. I wish the counter gal would've asked for clarification as anyone could tell we were newbies to this business. Also the menu merely says seasoned waffle fries. If loaded fries sounds good to you, two other interesting flava's are the Poutine and the Sicilian.
Fairly good thin crust alike something you could make at home. Not something I'd go out of my way for but if in the area, I might check them out for their specials. Pizza sauce is tasty though not sweet, rather there is the hint of herbs probably garlic and something else. The pizzeria also offers burgers, paninis and a number of different pastas.
The place is very small with few tables available for groups of twos and fours. Their delivery guys were always coming and going so it seems this is where most of their business comes from. With that said, table service was not mindful. We could have used drink refills which never came and once the food was served they forget about us. -

Fiance and I tried this pizza place for the first time last night, and had pizza delivered. We were going to order Papa Ray's (our local favorite) but they were MIA.
Ordered a large, thick-crust sausage pizza and it was pretty good. The sauce kinda tasted like Pizza Hut but that's okay. The price was not bad given the WEIGHT of the pizza, it was huge and heavy! Next time we'll order the thin-crust since it was too much dough for our taste, if we order again.
3-stars for the customer service. Not sure who answered but there was no "Thanks for calling Pizzaria..." it was more like "Pizzaria Aroma, what do you want?" Umm... I dunno, food? Trick question? The guy didn't say thanks, shove it, nothing at the end, just that pizza will be delivered "about an hour." He didn't tell me my total amount so I had to call back to find out. Pizza was delivered approximately 40 minutes but the rude guy on the phone made me think, great... the pizza will probably suck too. -

My 31 year old son Brian is a fan of Pizzeria Aroma so tonight
I took his recommendation and put it to the test!
My 26 year old son Nick and I had dinner here tonight, both
of us for the first time and okay, I've gotta say it, this place is
perfect on all counts..:)
This is a small place, mainly a carry out/delivery service but there
are a few tables available.
Upon entering the most wonderful scent of pizza cooking got to me,
I had to order a slice of sausage, and I can say that this piece
was plenty big enough for Nick and I to share..
I like that.. sharing is caring..:)
Okay, so this place has daily specials and that means 7 days
of specials, with 3 specials per day..
I have noticed that other restaurants eliminate specials on the
week-ends, not Pizzeria Aroma, major positive here with that decision.
Their menu, is tremendous, so many choices, it was hard to
choose tonight, so much goodness here..:)
Appetizers, Pizza, Pastas, Sandwiches, all kinds of "flava fries" with
special toppings, Nick had fries with Italian Beef Gravy and Mozzerella.
We both had Pasta tonight, and the quality was/is beyond what
I expected, last week-end I was at a very expensive Italian restaurant
and the food was'nt nearly as good as Aroma's was tonight.
Nick and I both agreed that when he comes in from Aurora Pizzeria
Aroma will be our place of choice from now on.
Gotta say, Nick knows what he likes and what he does'nt and
he loved this place tonight..:)
And for everything you get here the service and the tremendous quality of the food the menu prices are so fair/ reasonable, nothing extreme here pricewise.
This place is right near the red line el tracks on Berwyn and there is free parking in the strip mall lot as well.
So, I want to say Thank You to the folks at Pizzeria Aroma, you have some new fans here and we'll definitely be back for more.
Oh, and I hope you saw Nick put the tip in the tip jar on the counter!
You guys are one of the best in my book..:) -

So, I recently heard a nasty rumor that my beloved Giordano's might be going the way of the dinosaur, so naturally I began preparing myself for the worst and lining up a replacement. I was prepared for a long journey fraught with wrong turns, late deliveries, wasted cash and Gollum. As it happens, I found my own precious on the first try.
Aroma's thick crust is veddy, veddy thick. It is also chewy and bready. The cheese is there, but it's harmoniously light in proportion to the toppings, sauce and aforementioned crust.
I had a spinach and mushroom combo. Some places chop the spinach very fine and mix it with cheese before adding it to the pizza. I prefer my toppings be acquaintances, but not spend intimate time together in the food processor, so this was a plus.
Price-wise, in my humble opinion, the toppings add up. However, they do have some premiums options (mainly cheeses) as well as some nutty ones (peanuts, walnuts). They also offer peas.
Aroma's web site has a number of coupons and they also have daily specials. Their sandwiches, calzones and sides (grilled portobello) offer many pizza alternatives but I am pretty sure I will stick with the main attraction. Because it's pretty awesome. -
Review from Marvin A.
A ton of choices, pretty darn cheap, and BYOB with Jewel right across the street. There's nothing more to say.
They mainly service as a take-out place but offer a few tables for sit down. We ordered the thick crust and it was actually quite delicious. I thought it wouldn't be as enjoyable because of the thick bready crust proportion compared to its toppings, but I was delightfully surprised. Looking around, it seemed like many of the sit downs ordered pasta dishes and they looked really good... I just about had entree envy.
I would say this place would be a nice pregame for a night out in the city. I am definitely going back to see what the pasta is all about! -

Couldn't help but write a review for this place tonight.
I have been going to Pizzeria Aroma for over 3 years. The place is consistent. Great calzones, decent salads (the Harvest Salad and Buffalo Chicken salad are my go-tos) and solid sandwiches and pasta dishes. I find them a little on the pricey range for a fast serve sub joint but they mitigate this with plenty of daily and weekly specials and innovative daily menu changes/specials.
Tonight i'm writing because of their customer service. I ordered a pick up and when I got home realized that my order was screwed up. Not the whole order but one of the side dishes I ordered. I called back and asked that they deliver the correct order, there was a decent price differential between what I ordered and what I received when I picked up the dish to justify getting the side dish delivered (we're only a few blocks from the shop). They guy on the phone took my info and said they'd deliver the dish.
A short time later they brought over the dish along with a free dessert and an apology straight from the guy who packaged our order. What most impressed me about this was the fact that the store was basically closed when I called to inform them of the screw up and they still delivered hot, fresh, consistent dish, without giving me a hard time for requiring them to correct their mistake.
Like I said, I've been a Pizzeria Aroma customer for years. I like having a neighborhood joint that I can count on for good food. Tonight I think their customer service lived up to their food.
So thanks Pizzeria Aroma, you've retained me as a customer for an even longer tenor with an even better story to tell.
P.S. The only reason I didn't give 5 for this is because it's still a fast serve pizza / sub joint. I think 5s should be for some out of this world food coupled with out of this world service. -

I do like the taste of the pizza, however, I ordered a thin and thick sliced pizza and it lacked sauce. The thick sausage had like 7 sausages. Some of the pieces was like eating a cheese bread pizza with barely any sauce on it.
I will give them another chance if it is a last resort pizza. -

Last Friday night my friends and I were getting super hungry and wanting to just chill and watch a movie. I had a bunch of food coupons I had received in the mail so we decided to check them out to see what we had. We came across a coupon for a 16inch pizza for 9.99 at Pizzeria Aroma. I had been wanting to try this place for awhile and this was the perfect opportunity. We ordered a pepperoni pizza for pick up and they told us it would be ready in ten minutes. When we got there the pizza was ready and hot. We took it home and opened the box and it smelled great!! It was pretty good. They definitely do not skimp on toppings. It was nothing amazing or anything but for ten bucks it was definitely good pizza at an awesome price. There were three of us eating and we had quite a bit leftover. I would definitely go back here and I would recommend it to anyone looking for good cheap pizza!

Their thick pizza is the worst pizza I've ever eaten. The crust was like half-baked cake. Extra cheese was non-existent. Delivery took well over an hour and the food was cold. The salad was nice, but even the blue cheese was strangely sweet. Waste of money and gross.

Pizzeria Aroma is located right of the Berwyn Red Line stop and just south of Jewel, and frankly, Aroma is a jewel of it's own!!
I have been there on several occasions, always ordering their pizza. I have had all of their meat and cheese combinations and love every single one of them!! I prefer their regular deep-dish style because it isn't overly saucy. The slices are always fresh and hot, and how can you go wrong for $2.50/slice?!?!?!
And we can't forget about the staff! They are great and even recognize us as "regulars".
Highly recommend this place for a great slice of pizza! -

For the price, you can't beat the amount of food served! I was easily filled with half of a pasta portion and salad. The Tuscany pasta with grilled chicken came out piping hot with plenty of meat and vegetables. The decor leaves a little to be desired, but there is enough space for about 20 people to sit. This was perfect for carb-loading before a race!

As far as take-out Italian goes, this place is great. Their menu is quite extensive. The kitchen staff is always bustling. The packaging is professional, the food arrives quickly.
However, let's remember... it's take-out. Not even what you can consider casual dining, although they do humor people like me with about 8 tables. Hardly waiter-staffing though: you still order at the counter, but they bring out your food. They don't check back on you but you're mere feet away from the counter and can just walk up to it or heck, just a soft shout to the guy(s) near the phones will get you more this or that.
The food is the main reason you order take out, right? And this place (ha ha) delivers. Their nightly specials are (ha ha) especially well priced. Chicken Parmesan on Tuesdays is a constant favorite and fills up a big appetite like mine.
If you're looking for a place to wait on you hand and foot, look elsewhere. If you're looking for a good deal for what is considered cheap Italian eats in this part of Chicago, this is a very good choice. The place does brisk business being near the Berwyn El stop (Red Line) and lots of buses stop right in front. There seems to always be some CTA employees milling about. Be prepared in cold weather for continual bursts of drafty air from outside. So, wear your coat and be careful not to get any tasty red sauce on it. It'll wash out...! -

I'm honestly shocked by how high this place's rating is. I went last week and my boyfriend and I are still joking about how horrible our experience was!
We decided to try this place because we received a flyer on our door and we're still looking for a good go-to Italian place. We walked in to the unsettling sounds of a new employee getting berated by whoever was in charge - Owner? Manager? I'll just call him "the Berater" for clarity. I don't know what the issue was, but I'm sure whatever the poor guy did, he didn't deserve to be yelled at and humiliated in front of customers. The tirade included gems like, "you really think you're going to be working here in two weeks?". Again, all this was done IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS! I really wish we had left then, but, alas...
For an appetizer, we ordered the fried calamari. For entrees, I ordered the spinach gnocchi with marinara sauce and my boy ordered the philly cheese steak. The calamari was pretty good and came with fat lemon slices which is nice. I started to get a little nervous because the marinara-type sauce that came with the calamari was really gross.Foreshadowing!
I really wish I took a picture of my dish because it was hilariously bad. The gnocchi were swimming in a pool of water, just kind of chilling. The blob of sauce sitting on top was was thick and seemed totally foreign to the poor gnocchi. It was obvious the dish wasn't actually cooked like a real dish....the gnocchi went straight from water to the bowl and then the sauce gooped on top unceremoniously. I mean, you could at least PRETEND that this was lovingly cooked by mixing the sauce in with the gnocchi and water, right? Maybe a little cheese garnish? However, I've had some ugly dishes that turned out to taste amazing!... This was not the case here. My boyfriend and I each took a bite and exchanged horrified stares. The gnocchi were dense and flavourless and the sauce....I don't even want to talk about the sauce anymore. When I'm done writing this, I'm taking shot after shot of whiskey until I forget all about the experience
Let's move on to the philly cheese steak. Basically, there was no steak in the cheese steak. It was "steak". Have you ever had really low-quality lunch meat that was pretty much the odds and ends of chickens/pigs/unicorns/whatever all pressed together? Meat plywood, if you will? That's exactly what the "steak" was....chewy, flavorless, meat-like cubes. Kind of like the texture of sausage but without any semblance of edibility. Another reviewer had it exactly right when her daughter compared it to school lunch or cafeteria food. That's exactly what it's like! This is the type of school lunch food parents get upset about being served to their kids.
We simply had to do the unthinkable....We had to *gulp* send back our food! In the past 3 years, I've only sent back ONE other dish. I'm extremely tolerant/shy and hate complaining. But, this food was too bad to let slide. Both my boyfriend and I are polite to a fault. When he went up to negotiate an entree swap, it was done with zero attitude. The Berater was instantly angry and defensive. "Did you even try it?!" Uh, yeah. Of course we did. Maybe there's no obvious dent in the dish because it was disgusting and we didn't want to punish ourselves by forcing more down. "Well, what do you want me to do about it?!" Wow. You'd hope that someone would care enough about their food to want to know what was wrong with the dish, right? Not the Berater! He was probably too busy planning his next verbal assault of his employee to deal with our silly complaints. He finally, begrudgingly agreed to exchange our nasties for a small, veggie pizza which we took to go.
I'll be honest: The pizza was pretty good. Not something I'd order a
again, but, considering the horrors that were just in my mouth, it was like manna from the heavens. .
What's laughable is their menu claims they're dedicated to fine dining at an affordable price...Apparently, "fine dining" has been redefined to include frozen food and ill-cooked ingredients slopped together with absolutely no care and served with thinly-veiled aggression.
I originally rated it 2 stars because the pizza and calamari were decent. But, rethinking it, their offenses were so bad that I can't rate it anything but a 1.
Whether you're hungry or seeking a job, stay far away from this fine dining establishment! -

Great thin crust.. The best I've had in a while. There was a flyer on my front gate, and being easily persuaded, I decided to give it a try. Very glad I did, thank you flyer fairy.
The thin crust is the crispy-cracker kind, so if that's not your cup of tea, perhaps try the thicker crust. Cheese was good quality, and cooked very well. Almost like someone took a creme brule torch to it and did it by hand. The pieces of sausage were huge, another bonus in my book.
Their menu is very complete as well, and we will definitely be trying out their other offerings. -

I am not a fan of that thin cracker crust which is what we ordered, but I saw they also offer a thicker crust which I will have to try and then amend the review based on that.
First up the wings we ordered were strange, cooked without any sort of seasoning, and only after was a Tabasco like sauce dribbled on top. If you like wings you may want to pass on these as they were too boring to even bother with.
The toppings on the pizza though are really varied and with some unusual choices, so we opted to go with green pepper, chorizo and provolone. It actually came out great.
The interior is small with a bunch of weird pictures on the wall (like a framed vintage Who's Who in Baseball, along with a drawing of a chef and a poster of Goodfellas) so I am guessing they promote take out more than anything. But if you manage to snag one of the few tables you can bring in beer or wine and they are cool with it, so thats a nice perk.Listed in: Pizza: It's a lot like sex

Sigh.
How hard is it to make good pizza? It seems for Chicago it is impossible. Pizzeria Aroma, like many others in Chicago, just can't seem to make it happen. The crust is like cardboard, the cheese is gummy and has no flavor, and the sauce... well the sauce had no chance when it was between that garbage.
And what is with cutting the pizza into squares?!? That is NOT how you cut a round pizza. Slices, like a pie. Not squares. Again, though, it seems like many places around here don't know that either.
They could be nice people, it might have been fast delivery... but it doesn't matter when the food is bad. -
Review from David R.
The guy who runs the show here (at least on Sunday afternoons and evenings) is friendly and generous. He calls every customer "my friend" and constantly thanks everyone. Today he threw in a free one-liter soda for me which was not part of any set special.
Their thin pizza is nearly flawless, but the dry, dense crust is holding it back. Otherwise, it tastes great. Ditto the calzone. Actually, the crust is not as much a problem for the calzone thanks to the generous proportion of ingredients to crust. I got mine today with pepperoni, green peppers, and onions, and the vegetables were crispy and fresh and the pepperoni just right. The whole package tasted superb. The calzone gets an A-, so close to perfection.
I've also had the toasted ravioli (B) and fried mushrooms (B+), both of which are not as heavy with grease as you might expect.
Warning to vegetarians: the house salad comes with pepperoni, easily picked off. Give it to your dog or boyfriend who doesn't share your scruples.
The internet specials are great deals if you're looking to feed two or more people. They deliver too, but don't come up as far as the northern end of Rogers Park. On multiple occasions, I have seen CTA employees in here, which gives you an idea of the quality.Listed in: In Search Of....Calzones

Awful pizza. Frozen pizza is better than this dry cardboard with the absolute minimum amount of sauce. The dough was generic dough, probably premade mass distributed garbage from sysco. I worked in a gourmet pizza shop for 3 years and I would have been fired for serving this. Way over priced for what I got. I should have known better when I saw that they cooked their pizza on a conveyor belt instead of a real pizza oven. I haven't tested that many pizza joints in the Chicago land area, but this will definitely be at the bottom of my list for this city.

This is the place to go when you need to eat your feelings...
I'm going to preface this review with: I still think Roundtable Pizza is some of the best pizza I've ever eaten...and I don't like Chicago Style...yes, it's fine, you can stone me now!
Best thin crust pizza ever! It's always super crispy and almost cracker on the edges, sauce is flavorful, could be spicier but that's what red pepper flakes are for! Plenty of cheese and fresh toppings. Hmmmm....and just the right amount of orange oily-goodness seeps out, you know what I'm talking about, don't act like you don't like it.
If you want cheese and peppers you have to ask for them at the time of ordering, the driver doesn't carry them (?!?) and if you want more then one packet each, ask for lots of extra!
I've tried the pasta and the salads and wasn't impressed...stick with the pizza and you won't be disappointed. -

I haven't had their pizza. But the Chinese Chicken Salad and the Kansas Burger were both great. No, I didn't eat the burger, that was my for my fella. I did eat a couple of strips of chicken off the chicken salad because I felt like it. But next time when I go back to being a vegetarian I'm going to ask for them to substitute the chicken for more vegetables because he was very kind in adding broccoli to my salad since I didn't want scallions or crispy wontons. No charge.
The customer service was excellent. Especially considering this was an order for delivery. Despite the special instructions everything arrived perfectly and in a timely manner. The gentleman on the phone was very patient.
So...the salad is kind of like California Pizza Kitchen Chinese Salad but better because more veggies and water chesnuts. I don't know anything about burgers but the orderer of the burger was satisfied. I liked their fries, too, they are on the thin side. -

I am continually surprised by how hard it is to find good sub sandwiches in Chicago (and Subway and Quizno's are NOT subs!)
I had to spend about 20 minutes searching online menus before I found a place that had roast beef subs.
So, you can only imagine my disappointment at Pizzeria Aroma's
The bread is the most important part of a sandwich to me, and this bread was horrible. I couldn't tell if it was toasted or just stale.
The oil/vinegar was way too balsamic and overpowered the whole sandwich.
So, my quest for good subs in Chicago continues.
Maybe it's just one of those things that I'll have to give up living here.

When I used to live in Edgewater this was my go to pizza place. It was right off the Berwyn Red Line stop. The thin crust pizza here is great! You could walk in, order a pie, hop over to the Jewel and pick up a bottle of wine or a six pack, and then pick up the pizza on your way home.
To get an extreme dose of Italian seasoning, ask for the "Magic Herb" mix to be added to your pizza. I get it every time! If you are not concerned about your arteries, try one of their FLAVA FRIES.
The staff have always been quick and pleasant to deal with. Try it out if you are in the area, or give them a call. If you live just a few blocks away, you can get your delivery sometimes within 20 minutes. It's like they rushed it out the door as soon as it came out of the oven. Even after I moved to Lincoln Square, it would only take about 40 minutes. -

Had a thick crust veggie pizza here which was ready in all of 12 minutes! I assume they make them all fresh? It wasn't the best I have had, but it wasn't the worst either. I took it back to my house across the street. Dining in might be homey-feeling but the strip mall location next the Payless and Dollar Store is something to be desired!

One of the few places I've found in Chicago that does CHEESE toasted ravioli and cheddar jalapeno poppers. That alone could get me to keep ordering from them. However, they also have great pizza, a good staff, and fast delivery.
Can't beat them for a solid thin crust. -

It's a few hours after finishing the Bucktown 5K and it's nearing halftime of the Bears game. Needless to say, I'm starving. So, I dig through my plethora of take out menus and decide to give Pizzeria Aroma a try.
We ordered a 14" pizza, half cheese, half pepperoni with a side of onion rings. I wish I could take my choice back. The pizza was edible, but barely. The cheese itself was like a thin layer of crust to the point of it being almost crispy. There was no gooeyness at all. The pepperoni were crispy and shriveled. It was almost as if the pizza was sitting under a hot lamp for some time. The onion rings were good, but not memorable. They also charged us twice for delivery, which, when brought to their attention, was refunded. The person was very apologetic for the error.
I'm really hoping this was an off day for Pizzeria Aroma. Unfortunately, I don't believe I can bring myself to try them again. -

I love this place. Surprisingly, not for the pizza. I called this place one day in search of something other than pizza (I know, don't kill me). However, in trying this place I got very lucky.
Since finding this place, I am a true fan of their pastas. Whenever I have a pasta fix, I usually order the: Pesto Pizazz or Penne Pesto w/Sausage and Peppers or Capellini Con Protabella Pollo or Capellini Funghi y Funghi. Sometimes, depending on how hungry I am, I have ordered two to three at one time. Of course, I don't eat all three but maybe two.
Also, the Buffalo Wings (Hot or Teriyaki) are great as well. More baked and then covered in the sauce of your choice. Love it!!!
I would highly suggest ordering from this place if you haven't. The delivery service is good as well. -

For awhile, I found this place to be really great--I usually get the pizza delivered--and just simply craved the pesto pizza. But I've had a couple experiences with them, service-wise, that make me hesitant to go back.
First, I had an issue with delivery once. I accidentally gave the wrong address (I know...this sounds really not good but I just transposed a couple numbers). Totally my bad. EXCEPT the guy that called back to confirm the address basically reamed me out on the phone for my stupidity and the time I cost the driver. I'M SORRY! I felt horrible and gave the driver an enormous tip to compensate, but even he was like, "Oh, YOU'RE the one with the address problem." HEY. We all make mistakes okay. Back off pizza people.
I also think that for the size and ingredients these pizzas are ridiculously overpriced especially in comparison to other pizza delivery in the area. I'm all for a good pizza. But a good, CHEAP pizza is even better. Frankly, there are only so many times I can tolerate a good-but-not-great, over-priced pizza. I'm sorry, that just cannot happen.
So, while I like it okay, I've moved on. I'll eat it if someone puts it in front of me and probably enjoy it. But I'm likely to not seek it out on my own again for awhile. -

Phenomenal. Stop there and go get it!
We walked in at 10pm, thinking they closed at 11. A guy came over to us and let us know they closed at 10:30. Instead of being a punk about it, he offered to take our order, made suggestions, and took care of us like we weren't the people who came in at close.
The Bruschetta Salad was excellent. The greens were so fresh and crisp, and the bruschetta mix was so flavorful that we didn't even need dresssing.
The special of the day was a large thin crust margherita pizza for $13.99. The pizza was huge and delicious. I couldn't stop eating it. Awesome top to bottom.
It's a BYOB, which is awesome, but I didn't slow down enough to realize I didn't have any of my own B. What a great place. -

I think that the fact that this place is located in a transitional neighborhood that the folk here have pretty much the worst demeanor I've seen in just about any pizza joint in Chicago. I can't tell you if their pizza is any good because we ended up with someone else's order!
When I called back three different times to reach a manager, I get the sort of attitude that just screams 'cheaply made'. Certainly, the pizza we did get (it had pineapple on it - gah!) didn't look very appetizing.
Apparently the other person must have called in looking for their order, too, because the owner said I had called in a bunch of times, and was pretty much a troll.
They could offer the pizza wrapped in $20 bills, and I wouldn't eat there. Any idiot can make a halfway decent pizza. These guys approach customer service like we're all trying to rip them off. Not worth the time. -

I love hole in the wall eateries. And pizzeria aroma is one of my new favorites. No frills, good food, and friendly service. The eating area consists of a counter and 5 tables. The have a B.Y.O.B policy which can save you a few sheckles.
C.R. and I shared a Buffalo wing appetizer and a Chorizo and Green Pepper Pizza. The wings were plump and Juicy, but the sauce left a bit to be desired. It looks like they splashed them with Hot sauce. Nothing was baked in.
The pizza was wonderful. Crispy crust, fresh toppings and perfectly cooked. The staff could not have been nicer and the service was quite good. I think they had our pizza ready in 15 minutes.
If you are looking for good food at a reasonable price, you should give pizzeria aroma a try. -

First I'll say what went right.
The delivery was lightening fast, about 20 minutes. And the food is pretty cheap.
Now what went wrong.
Basically a lack of taste probably due to low quality ingredients.
I got a small sausage and onion pizza with calamari. The calamari were at least not over cooked which is a common crime. But the breading was very heavy and gloppy. It was crispy though.
The pizza really didnt have much taste at all. The dough tasted like a cracker which one would buy in bulk at Costco. The sauce had a little flavor but not much. The cheese only served to keep the sausage and onions physically on the pizza but provided next to no flavor. The sausage and onions had a little bit of flavor.
So if you are interested in quality pizza that has 10% of the taste of a pizza from Great Lake Pizzeria on Balmoral and Clark then go for Pizzeria Aroma. Especially if quick delivery and low cost are an important pizza criteria for you.
