Get your slice "extra-crispy" and it will be a normal level of crispiness. Otherwise I find it to be just warm and mushy. The Galleria is great if you're in a rush or it's a rainy day and you're nearby. I know I can count on Pizzelle for good pizza and good service, which is why I keep coming back.

I got a Groupon here for a pizza. Loaded with salt, cheap tomato paste, and inferior processed cheese. It tasted worse than pizza you get at your local Fresh Choice or elementary school cafeteria.

I think the only reason this place survives is purely the lunch business, but why anyone would ever eat here is beyond me.

I think it's terrible in general how all the food in the financial district is either expense (and therefore palatable) or SUCKS.

On a positive note though, the staff is really nice. Food blows though.

Eek. Came by on a Saturday afternoon to claim my Munch on Me deal.

The place was dead. The whole mall was dead. Maybe Pizzelle is more of a weekday lunch spot. But it was just creepily empty when I came. I wasnt' even sure if anyone was working there but a guy came from the back after a few seconds (he seemed surprised to see anyone there).

The deal was for a free salad.. he looked in the fridge and said the salads didn't seem that good. Like it was about to go bad. Hm.

Not that the service was bad - he was really nice and heated up a slice of pizza - got the sausage - which was very blah, as good as your $1 slice from those sidewalk vendors. Yeah.. if my food wasn't free I would never have come. Even so, not sure it was worth my time...

The pizza here is just not very good. Typical oversized but super-thin-crust "New York' style. Somehow, they've come up with a recipe that has no actual taste but still gives you heartburn.

Normally, it's overpriced too - $7 for two slices - but they have a standing deal on Livingsocial that knocks it down to $5, which is the only reason I would come here again or give it more than one star.

Come to think of it, pretty much ALL the pizza I've ever had in the Financial District sucks. Same with Mexican food. What the hell?

Got enticed to go here off a living social deal. Now I know why they are doing it, this was some of the greasiest, sloppiest, bland pizza I've ever had.

We asked for garlic as one of our toppings and I swear they got the cheese and garlic confused because there was such a ridiculous layer of garlic we could barely get through the pie.

After eating 2 1/2 slices of our XL pizza, my stomach was a furnace of garlic and grease.  I wanted to projectile vomit everywhere and swore I'd never go back.

Just be careful, I didn't experience any TLC or extra effort put into making their product delicious.

Someone in the office gave me a coupon for $3 off any restaurant in the Galleria and it expired that day so I used it toward a lunch portion of fried calamari. It was pretty decent. I ate the entire thing so I can't complain.

The cook is funny. He made waiting for my meal slightly more bearable, though I did see him sneak a few pieces of calamari in his mouth while cooking.

I tend to take late lunches and Pizelle offers 2 slices of pizza for only $5 after 2pm so I'm sure I'll be back.

This place gets no love for their pizza, so I did the thing true yelpers do and steered clear. I got the chicken parm. Pretty okay. Chicken was fairly tender. Comes with your choice of pasta and sauce. I got penne with their tomato cream. the sauce was good but the pasta and veggies were over done, like cafeteria style.

1 of the only spots open in the Galeria past 4 so I decided to give it a try... Figured 2 slices for 5 bucks, can't go wrong. I guess you actually can go some what wrong. The slices look deceivingly big. But when you actually possess them, you notice how truly thin the crust is.. Shit's weak! However, at least the stoned cashier/pizza getter was friendly and provided good service. And they had a very unique pizza that turned out half decent. Black bean, pollo asado PIZZA! Interesting.

This is a very short review of delivery from Pizzelle.

18'' Calzone Style Pizza Pepperoni, Mushrooms - not a very good calzone. it was overcooked, mushy, and deflated.

Delivery was prompt, professional, and polite.

Sometimes you know better, but you go for it anyway.  On the rare occasion, you will find glory, but usually you wonder why you bothered.

This place features pizza and pasta.  The sign for salads was partially obscured by the drink case, and when I ordered the "special salad," I had to repeat myself and the counter folks were all...  "What? Oh! Right!"

The resulting salad was pretty miserable.  I found a number of slimy baby greens, the apple and orange slices were full of seeds, and I ended up feeling distrustful of the whole thing after a few too many gritty mouthfuls.  Ick ick ick.

Having skipped lunch one day, I wandered into the Crocker Galleria mid-afternoon to see if I could pick up a quick snack to tide me over until I could get dinner.  Unfortunately, there's not much of a choice- I forgot just how small the food court here is.  In any case, I cased out all the places before making my decision- some DIY salad from the salad bar at the deli.  Given that it was about 3 in the afternoon, I should not have been surprised that the salad bar offerings were a little anemic- whatever was good has already been picked over by the lunch crowd and they sure weren't planning on refilling anything.  Sigh...so no go on the salad and the next option was pizza from Pizelle, which didn't look all that appetizing as it sat there in the window.

I decided on a slice of pepperoni pizza.  They did reheat it for me, but it just didn't taste right and the slice just dripped with oil.  The crust was soft rather than crunchy and the sauce wasn't particularly flavorful- I must have piled on a ton of parmesan cheese, red chili flakes, and oregano to make it taste a little better.

2 stars for that slice of pizza- I've definitely had better and it made me sad that I wasted my calories and money on this generic slice of "NY-style" pie.

I came in here to cash out my frequent diner card (Thanks Crocker Galleria!).  I ordered the chicken parmigiana (daily special).  They cooked the chicken on the spot so it wasn't a chafing dish reject like some places in FiDi.  I got a big piece of chicken, veggies, the pasta of the day and garlic knot bread.  All for the ideal price of $4 (that's the diner discount.  It costs more generally).

Portions were generous and food was excellent.

This review is for Pizza and Service only.  This does not pertain to anything of relevance such as Pasta or Cordon Bleu Chicken.

I arrived at the location on a Thursday about 1:30PM just after the lunch crowd. It was near empty.  There seemed to a lot of employees hanging around. This is one of those NY style pizza places where they re-heat slices for you that they have sitting around in the display.

Pizza - The girl who put my pizza in the oven wasn't worried about making the pizza hot.   They were served to me lukewarm and cold. On one slice, the sauce seemed runny/watery because the cheese seemed to slide around on the pizza.  It tasted OK. The other slice was cold and at that temperature, nothing was moving around on it.

I ordered a fountain drink and they failed to tell me that the ice machine wasn't working. I asked the girl if there was any ice or if I could get the soda cold, she said there was nothing she could do. (I realized later they had a refrigerator full of drinks, but the girl never suggested that to me)

I had warm soda and cold pizza so I could never recommend this to anyone. Even if the pizza was properly heated/cooked, other pizza places in the area are much better.

The restaurant seemed greasy and dirty. There were a lot of employees standing around and none of them was on wipe-down duty.   Maybe I came at the wrong time?

I must say lunch at Pizzelle was pleasantly surprising.   I didn't have very high expectations but they more than matched them...

I stepped in and looked at their pizza by the slice...  Yeah, but no...   So I looked at the other meals they served and I settled for the Penne with Pesto sauce.   Served with a side of veggies and some a couple of way garlicky rolls, the plate of food provide an ample portion and I couldn't finish everything.   The pesto, while not necessarily creamy like I love it, was nevertheless very good and retained the tangy basil freshness.   The garlic rolls were mehh but I am now well armed against any vampire attack.   The veggies provided a nice decoration on the plate.   Still, for the price, it was well worth it and I know I'll come back when I feel like eating cheap, good Italian food at lunch.

I was here on Tuesday.  The cooks were unboxing about 40 "Newman's Own" frozen pizzas and cooking them in their ovens.  Why on earth would a pizza shop be cooking frozen pizza from the supermarket?

I love the Galleria, it's my favorite food court in San Francisco. Oddly enough, while I've tried all the other spots here during my lunch hour, I had never eaten at Pizzelle, until today.

Most people seem to opt for the pizza, which looks good, but I opted for a pasta. for about $4 you get pasta with marinara, some steamed vegetables, and some garlic "knots" - for $2 more you can get ravioli, which I'd recommend over the normal stuff.

For a fast food option, it's pretty decent, but the service, while friendly, was a little slow and congested.

I was craving pizza and although my craving hasn't been satisfied, it hit the spot. I've definitely had better, but they had quite a few choices to choose from like vegetarian, pepperoni and sausage, mushroom, hawaiian, and more. They also have pasta dishes, and apparently specials every day.

Not cheap, but it's San Francisco and at least you get a huge slice.

Had a Groupon Now Deal. Had to use by 6pm the day of purchase. Got there, ordered ahead. They could not log into Groupon's system bec Groupon was doing computer updates. It they did not log it into system by cutoff date they risked not getting reimbursed by Groupon. They still honored my Groupon out of 1. trust and 2. great customer service. Got an XL pepp/olive pizza. Thin crust but good flavor and not too salty. I'll be back & recommend to others. They also validate in case you're going on the weekend to top floor food court of Crocker Galleria (FiDi).

I practically live on their slices of pizza. This a great place to grab a bite, especially if you're in a bit of a hurry. They also deliver their pizza. I haven't tried anything else as I'm always in a hurry when I grab a bite there and one slice and a snapple do it for me.
The guys who work there are cool too, which is almost as important to me as the food.

Tasty pizza, though it's a NY-style floppy crust. The staff tends to be efficient, though usually too busy to interact much. The lunch special (slice, salad, soda) is now $7, not the $5.50 on the sign. Seating in the restaurant is usually easier to find than on the walkway outside, but there's plenty across the atrium in the giant room of just tables and chairs.

the pesto pizza. man, i wish i didn't get it. Its not horrible but it definitely lacks in flavor and its sorta dry.

I did have their tomato based pizza once before and that i'd say is better but not anything to write home about.

if ur in crocker galleria and u simply must have pizza then i would ask you exactly how hungry you are... cuz i kinda took my chances and then was left full and unsatisfied.

my friend on the other hand had chicken piccata and she enjoyed it. but i think our tastes in food are sort of different so i dont really know how much i would have liked it myself.

i guess you should go check it out for yourself. 2 times was enough for me.

They have a lunch special which includes a slice of pizza, salad and soda.  The pizza was OK as it was not hot enough.  I felt the pizza could've been in the oven a little longer.   I had a slice of pepperoni and something was missing but I couldn't pinpoint it.  It didn't have much taste.  Then I decided to add what I thought was chili pepper, but rather, it was herbs.  That was what was missing...spices.

Typical downtown place that gets away with murder because office folks are in a hurry so no effort needs to made to provide them with quality sustenance.  The staff are nice enough when they're not goofing around, but $9 for pasta from a steam tray is crazy.  They serve that kind of "pizza" that clearly isn't NY pizza and tries to look like that but is actually mostly all dough with very little toppings, and is somehow worse than Sbarro's.  And guys, you cannot serve paella off a steam tray! -- god only knows how long those shrimp have been sitting out there.

In the Crocker Galleria, this version of the North Beach restaurant is more casual quick service variety; your typical $7 pizza/pasta combo place.  I got a slice of pepporoni, salad, and a coke and it was fine, but didn't wow me.  Definately filled me up.  The pizza had a different taste about it than one normally finds; I can't put my finger on it, but it was a nice change.  Seating outside amongst a sea of corporate types with their security ID's hanging off their pants is nice under the giant skylight, and there's still a feel of being outdoors since it's not fully enclosed.

I've eaten here sporadically and never had a complaint about them until now. I recently went there for lunch and ordered the eggplant parmagiana. However, my complaint is not about the meal...it's the staff.

So the guy at the register takes my order, tells the chef (he must've been cooking something else), I pay and the register guy goes to the back. He comes out about 5-7 mins later and asks the chef about my order and guess what? The chef forgot!!! So i'm there waiting for about 10-15 mins already, the one girl in the front, doesn't even tell me 'sorry about the wait, your order will be out soon..' The chef is just standing there, stuffing his face, so I go up and ask him about my order and he has the nerve to say, "Yeah, yeah, its almost done..." in a snappy tone...Excuse me?

Anyway, i finally got my order, almost half an hour later, after they reheated the noodles and veggies...I'm not ever going there again and I advise you not to either.

I've known about Pizzelle for 2 years and it's my favorite Italian restaurant in San Francisco. The size of their slices of pizza are very generous for a very good price. The workers are very friendly and always make sure you're satisfied. My favorite thing from Pizzelle are the delicious garlic nuts! They also have many other dishes such as Chicken Masala on Wednesday's, which happens to be to die for. I love it here and would suggest it to everyone.

After a long morning with barely any breakfast in me, we decided to come here and get pizza! We ordered a large with half pesto-veggie and half sausage. The pesto-veggie wasn't actually that bad! It had zucchinis, olives, peppers, and other various veggies. The crust was just, okay, nothing special but the pesto was kind of yummy! Also, their slices are really huge! Overall, I wouldn't say that I'd come back, unless I was really craving some pizza but it actually wasn't bad.
