This review is for Pizzazzz kids:  I love this place!  I end up going in to look for something every few weeks if not more often and have come to rely on the excellent customer service-- I've gotten help figuring out different strollers, footmuffs, hats, sippy cups, bottles, sheets, carriers, natural skin care, gifts, etc.  I usually do a lot of research before buying baby items and still end up being confused-- being able to go into Pizzazzz and see the items and talk to the sales people here often gives me another aspect to think about that I haven't thought to consider.  I also appreciate that when they don't carry what I'm looking for, the sales people have suggested other places to go to get what I need (i.e. when I was looking for a certain skin ointment for my son they suggested I go to Park Naturals down the street where they knew I could find what I was looking for).  This kind of honesty, convenience and help keeps me coming back. I count this store as a resource that has made parenting a bit easier!

I find the prices to be the same as the cheapest versions on Amazon.  For the same money, I like supporting a local business and not having to wait for shipping (even with free 2 day shipping through "Amazon Mom").

I've only visited the toy store once and it was the weekend before Christmas so was not surprisingly busy and crowded.  The service was still good!

I weigh in here to concur with reviews about the service. My review is based on 4 years of shopping here, only when I absolutely must. Believe me, it's horrible. Mainly, the salespeople are so rude. They missed out on the be-nice-to-customers day in store school. They act as if they are doing me a massive favor by letting me pay top dollar for a toy. I absolutely go out of my way to support local business, but this is one instance where I have no guilt at all shopping at big stores like Toys R Us and paying 20% less all while being treated nicely.

I would give one star, except that their inventory is good.

My comments pertain to the Kids store:

The sales people here are really not that bad.  Plus, where else can I go in Carroll Gardens/Cobble Hill to grab a wide range of items for my baby?  Would love to know if there's a better place around.  I stop by here every week or so to pick up Medela replacement parts, natural skin products for the little one, sun hats, stroller toys, etc.  They seem to have everything I need.  Prices in some cases are high, though.  But shocker -- it's an independent store.  Go to Amazon if you want to save a few bucks and wait for the shipping.

For a little neighborhood store this place has everything! I don't agree about the 'rude'  comments. The staff is always helpful to me. And I actually found some Lego stuff cheaper than Toys R Us.

Is it overpriced? definitely. Is the staff rude at best? most of the time...BUT this store has everything, the staff does know where everything is located, the location is perfect, and its super easy for those last minute gifts. I only go here when I don't have time for Target but several, no, many times over the past 3 years I've gone here with birthday gifts from here (no gift receipt, just their wrapping paper) and they've let me exchange EVERY single time with no hassle!!!! I've pulled up after my kid's party with 3-4 gifts that we already had only to have them say, no problem!!!! That's what they get the 3rd star for.

Rude staff and overpriced by about 20%.  The store is small but it does have almost anything you might need.  I only go there if i am in a terrible bind and need pacifiers or a very last minute gift  or something.

This store is fabulous! I was visiting from California and was blown away. It is not fancy or shi shi and the salesperson was indeed rude, though not horribly so, but the selection is just amazing. Fantastic stuff and so much of it. Heather R's more detailed description below is spot on.

Walking by outside, I've never thought much of this toy store, which I assumed would be like the neighborhood toy store near my place in Greenpoint. But you know what assuming does, and sure enough, it did just that.

This toy store is awesome. It's much bigger and deeper than you could ever tell from the front steps, and its somewhat narrow aisles are filled to the ceiling with tightly packed toys. Little space is left unfilled.

They have all kinds of toys in stock, from the rubber balls on the front steps, Papo fantasy and soldier figures near the checkout, Brio trains and Thomas the Tank Engine, Marvel superhero action figures, games and puzzles, and more wonderful stuff.

It's kind of like Winn Discount, only full of toys and slightly higher caliber. The shop is packed tight, and it's a joy just to walk up and down the aisles looking at the modern state of toys. Of course, you should also buy a toy for a child in your life. C. and I bought several!

First of all we should note that Pizzazz has 2 storefronts on the same block - one is toys and one is kids.

I think this place is great.  I saw a review about the salesperson having a tude, but I've had the complete opposite experience!  Every time I've gone in (which is often), I've got nothing but respectful staff who take the time to answer all sorts of questions.

In particular, they were SOO helpful when it came to deciding on a stroller.  They have literally like every brand and model in the back, and you can take them for test drives.  We went several times to look at strollers, and 3 of those times we spoke to clerks who were so helpful.  They gave us suggestions on what we might consider based on our criteria, demos on how to fold them, and they let you take them for a test drive on the street (more than you might think, it's great to actually feel the diff between various levels of strollers in a given brand...)

I've also gone in requesting tips/advice on other products and received the same knowledgeable and thoughtful service.

I think the overpriced comments might be more for the Toyz store?  In kids, strollers (for example) are standard prices.

Sorry to inconvenience you lady buy spending over a hundred bucks and being your only customer in the store. Major unnessasary tude. Chatted to coworker entire time of transaction even ignoring me when I asked a question. Completely unhelpful. I was shocked at the level of rudeness! Store is way overpriced and inventory so packed u can't find anything in any sort of order. She also tried to sell me a rusted dusty robot as a birthday present. Really? I'm just outraged at my second horrible experience (nearly eveyone deserves a second chance).
This place will not get my business or recommendation. I'd rather shop at the most ghetto Target on the planet or the most expensive shi-shi boutique, this middle ground hack is not cutting the kid/parent satisfaction mustard

There may be a lot of shi shi boutiques for moms and kids in and around this Brooklyn neighborhood but this one shouldn't be missed. It looks like an overstocked warehouse with all the bikes and strollers lined up in front. Thanks to our daughter who spotted it while we were eating at Osaka, we visited it out of curiousity and saw the potential of this neighborhood business.

Their shop was packed with toys that could make every kid in this neighborhood wish he/she got locked in for a night.  It's no FAO Schwarz or Toys R' Us but I think the toy brands are well-represented. I believe we met the family who runs it and it looks like they know their stuff.  I would bet that if you didn't find something you needed in this store, they will try to get it for you.

Their baby store is located two doors away and they have stuff you wouldn't find at Babies R' Us!  They have some trendy strollers and high chairs.  My favorite find was a giant Rollie Pollie Ollie Doll.

Be careful.  I have found that  Pizzazzz dramatically overprices toys that can be found elsewhere for nearly half the price. I've shopped there for several mass produced toys in a pinch--Star Wars, for instance.  The action figures are $12 or $13 at Pizzazzz and the same exact toy for $8 in any other  store. To get totally specific, The Clone Wars plane "naboo skiff"  is $29.99 at Pizzazzz and $18 anywhere else! The list goes on.

I understand that Pizzazzz is a small merchant and may need to price their items a bit higher, but this is ridiculous and not fair to customers. I hope the owners of Pizzazz read this and reconsider their pricing strategy!

This is a mediocre, low brow, but quite an okay toy store, but oh boy the service..... Foodie Mamma X's review is totally accurate.

I always liked this store until today. The woman who was "helping" me was all around atrocious. I was prepared to spend 300+ dollars for a car seat and when I asked to see it before purchasing it, she told me it was underneath many boxes and that wouldn't be possible. She was not interested in helping me and seemed like I was inconveniencing her. She was lazy, rude, and made me never want to go to that store ever again.
