Let me tell you Yankee......Texas invading lost souls who talk funny something. This pizza blows your deep dish, heart attack on a plate pizza away. This place has been here for over 40 years at the same place making the same great tasting pizza with monotonous consistency sense the day they opened back in the mid 60's. Its a thinner pizza with hand tossed dough and a crispy crust. The ingredients are fresh and the root beer is awesome. No beer here.....My only complaint. I should talk to Mark about that.
The price is cheap by pizza standards. Bring cash. No credit cards here. Located in the South East corner of Central(75) and Beltline Road in Richardson(look for the original 1960's pizza sign on the access road) This is the place for a good pizza.
This totally looks like an old school mom-and-pop shop when you walk in. I half expected Chinese people to be making the pizza, considering the location, but it was an old white dude and his crew. Everything smelled so good we decided to order a second small for good measure (they are pretty small, and we two delicate females were pretty hongry). Tasted ok, but didn't enjoy the sausage. In fact it rather ruined it for me because there was SO much of it. I actually felt pretty sick afterward but I don't hold that against them because my stomach was being weird that whole week.
Prices were very reasonable. I could probably be convinced fairly easily to give them another shot.
I remember going to the smoky filled Pizza Villa when I was a little girl with my mom. I went back a few weeks ago, and while the smoke is gone, (I can still smell lingering cigarettes), the pizza is even better than I remember.
After years of taking my kids to CiCi's buffets and ordering from local chains, I now can't go back to those after eating a crispy thin crust flavorful pizza at Pizza Villa. The service is not the greatest or fastest, but I can count on good pizza. I will definitely be ordering it take-out as the booths are made for those of you without a belly or a booty.
I cannot compare it to any yankee perfect pizza since I have never been to New York, but it is as good as it gets around the DFW.
Update: PV has become our standing Saturday night date. Great stuff.

A real "pizza joint", not some faceless chain.
Open since 1960, this little spot has one of the most… Read more »
It's hard to know exactly what to give this place. Coming from New Haven, CT--pizza capital of the world--it's a little hard to fully endorse this style of pizza. It's your basic, made fresh... relatively thin--but doughy--crust, with canned ingredients. Still, for that kind of... I don't know how you would call it... "comfort food" kind of pizza, this place did a really nice job.
It is small and they don't take credit cards, but the people that served us were warm and sweet (which is a real change from the PCOTW) and their fountain drinks were wonderfully syrupy and all-you-can-drink. They also had RC Cola, which is a bonus for me.
It is what it is... a strip-mall pizza place in Richardson, TX; but one that's been around 40-odd years that makes the pizza when you order it, to your spec, and does it with love. If you are in the mood for solid pizza and a cozy fit (maybe 8 booths that all are kind of little), I wouldn't hesitate to go again. I'm sure I'll be back.
i haven't tried every pizza joint in dallas, but this is my favorite for a few reasons:
- Mark (mgr) and Martel (asst mgr) are two demanding pizza pros who strive to make every pizza perfect.
- i like thin thin-crust and this, imho, is one of the best crusts ever: consistently better than campisi's, i fratelli, or pizza by marco.
- they make their own sausage
- jalapenos and anchovies are not extra ingredients on the PV special (or combo, supreme, whatever-you-wanna-call-it), but they always ask if you want them.
- it's closer to me than the other good pizza joints (for an awesome thin-crust at Preston/Royal, try Pizza by Marco)
- it's byob and allows smoking
hole in the wall might be considered a compliment to this place. it's so old that customers must walk behind the counter and through the kitchen to use the single restroom.
i don't disagree with another critic's observation that there are canned ingredients, but i don't visit Pizza Villa for a gourmet experience... just the best damn combo pizza i've had in DFW.
I took my 4 year old daughter and her friend there on Friday night. This place is TINY. I will never sit down and eat there again, but I will definitely do take out! Their pizza is delicious! I can't believe I've lived so close to this place for so long and had never been there. It's great!! They DO NOT accept credit cards, so bring cash or your check book.
Pizza Villa is the only decent pizza place I have been able to find down in Dallas (sorry, but I'm yet to come across a pizza place which matches up to the so-called so-so places up North-East). I like their crust a lot (which is thin - the way it should be!). If you're like me and miss good pizza, give this place a try and it will definitely surprise you. The place is quite small and not very pleasant but the pizza is nice and the people are friendly. A couple of things about Pizza Villa though is that they have really weird working hours, are somewhat slow and don't deliver (which is a real pity). Also during long weekends, they seem to close up shop way too early (I called them the Tuesday before Labor day and found out that they were shut the entire week and beyond!). It is also quite reasonable price wise.
