My favorite place for pizza!  I love supporting the small businesses and the staff is always nice. I like the lunch specials and the 50 cent pizzas on tuesday is always nice! The cheesey sticks are good and i rarely get a bad slice of pizza.... rarely

not the nicest area of tustin and there always seem to have weird people around.

besides the neighborhood freaks i am 90% satisfied with my pizza.
i suggest getting a pizza with not so much toppings so it wont get all soggy and stuff

Went in for a slice and a beer, they gave me unclaimed pizza that was at least an hour old. If a place does that in order to make a buck then I will never support them.

    Cheap prices for leftovers.

Anyway, I wrote this comment for them (and I took a picture):

    To Whom This May Concern:
I came in today, 10/31/11, for a beer and two slices of pizza. I was initially informed that you had run out by the clerk but then an ambitious manager informed her that she was wrong. The manager then stated there were some cheese slices. Fantastic!

...This is pathetic. I have worked at pizza places as a server and a bartender (Pizza Hut and Oggi's for a combined 7 years) and it is ovious that the 4 slices (I ordered two) were leftovers and were put back into the oven. Cheese is orange; unacceptable. Crust is rock hard because it has been cooked twice.

I will never come back and I will post this on Yelp.
    Sorry

    ------------------

Look, it's probably a decent place, I mean the prices are dirt cheap BUT if some manager is going to sell me unclaimed pizza that has been reheated then...well, then I'm never going back there.

When I order pizza, I like to be able to taste the cheese (and know its real), the sauce, and the crust. We ordered a pepperoni pizza from Pizza Shack because that's how I truly know if the pizza is good. I was pleasantly surprised. The crust was nice and chewy (I ordered the New York Crust), the cheese tasted like real mozz, and the pepperoni was good. Cheese was a bit greasy but nothing a dab from a napkin won't fix. :) I would totally order from here again. Yummy!

I would say this is one of my favorite pizza joints in Orange County. Always such nice people and good pizza and you cant beat the price. The pizza is not greasy, and has fresh toppings. I love their antipasto salad. Good hearty lettuce, not just iceberg, meat and cheeses. An incredible deal. Add a slice of pizza or two and you are STUFFED. And the best .... the ability to order and pay online!

50 cents slices seem legit.  But after eating two and getting a stomach ache, it really doesn't justify their awesome price.

If you want cheap slices, come here on Tuesdays when they have the special. Be prepared to wait a good 15-30 mins to get your pizzas though.

My bf and I went to Pizza Shack last saturday because he was craving pizza. I'm not too picky when it comes to pizza, but I know a good slice when I get one. We ordered a Large meat lovers pizza and a side of Mojo fries. When we got there we were the only ones there and our pizza was brought to us in a decent matter of time.

I like that this is a hole in the wall spot but it still has beer on tap, a variety of drinks, a few games to play and long tables/benches like a classic pizza spot. When they brought our pizza out, they gave us paper plates, nothing fancy, and we dug in.

The pizza dough was soft and cooked perfectly. We thought we were going to get through the pizza, but we barely got through half feeling stuffed. I HIGHLY recommend the Mojo fries, they're delicious!

I give this place 4 stars, not for its high end atmosphere or excellent presentation, but its good quality pizza. I know that they deliver and the man who took our order was professional and nice. I know they have midweek specials and other deals on a regular basis as well.

I was craving pizza when I was badly sick and laid up in bed last week (yeah, I don't know either... pizza?) and I remembered Edwin Goei of OC Weekly reviewed this place well on his personal blog a couple of years back (http://elmomonster.blo...).  Figured it was worth a shot since there was no way I could get up and make my own.

I ordered a personal pizza, hand tossed crust, with light sauce, extra spinach and artichoke hearts.  I hoped, but did not expect, them to come through so well on such a small diameter pie, but the amount of toppings was amazing!  Same for my husbands personal meat pizza.  The good quality ingredients and crispy dough (if a bit too... buttery?) made for a nicely satisfying meal.

Chicken tenders were also good (not greasy, YAY), though a bit blackened around the edges.

It was $25 for the two personals and the appetizer.  Not bad for a non-chain.  Friendly staff too.  If I ever get the urge again and am too sick to make my own pizza from scratch (which is the only thing that would ever keep me from making my own), I would order from here again.

Surprisingly, this place was really good.

The Hubby needed Pizza's delivered to a local business. We found coupons on line. Got 2 cheese pizza's and 6 3 topping pizza's delivered for $96. They were really good. Every single slice was gone.

We asked for noon delivery, and they got here about 10 mins late. Not a biggie when you're waiting for something good.

    Long story short.

After the 40th minute of waiting for my medium pizza to go in a completely empty restaurant, I asked the owner how much longer it would be. He walked over to the hot box and said, Oh they've been ready for 10 minutes.

    2 problems here.

    1) I was sitting 3 feet away from him at the bar drinking my iced tea while he grazed on food. I sat in that position for at least 20 minutes. The hot box is in my line of sight. Nobody put a pizza in there while I sat for 20 minutes.

    2) How insanely disinterested can one person possibly be in customers to sit in talking distance from someone whose order you've taken 40 minutes ago? It never occurred to him at any point, "hey, this guys been sitting here for a while, maybe I should check on his stuff."

This whole scenario might have been more tolerable should they have been slammed with customers. I can't image how a place like this stays in business when they can fail so hard at serving one customer who's sitting 3 feet away.

I will never come back to this place again.

I think it's fitting that the shittiest pizza place I've ever been to is next door to the shittiest grocery store I've ever been to.

I think this strip mall is cursed.

Great carry out special.  The pizza itself is not spectacular but it's pretty good when it comes right out of the oven.

If you want to chill here you can, have have huge bench table seating.

We went to their website and ordered from one of their coupon specials (click on the Coupon link).  We used the Family Deal coupon for $23.99, which includes 1 large 3-topping pizza, 10 wings, 1 large dinner salad, and a liter of soda.

    PROS:
    -  The pizza arrived really hot and fresh - the cheese was still in the process of melting and there were chunks of canadian bacon and pineapple all over it.
    -  You can tell all the ingredients on the pizza were great quality.  They definitely didn't skimp on toppings.
    -  Big, plump wings (not as good as Wingstop, but much better than Buffalo Wild Wings).

    CONS:
    -  Unfortunately, the pizza tasted bland.  Maybe I'm used to the garlic tasting crust of Domino's and Papa John's, but the pizza here was really missing something.
    -  There wasn't very much sauce on the pizza!  Maybe it evaporated in the oven?  That was disappointing.

This place didn't really stand out to me in any way.  I wanted to like it, but thought it was just another joint in the sea of million pizza places around.

I think the pizza shack needed a little bit more work on the food itself. I myself have been a patron of pizzas every where for a very long time. From Ray's Pizza to all the cheesy places like Dominos and Little Ceasars. However I do believe that this place could of had a little better quality while preparing the pizza. FIrst off my pizza wasn't fresh. The cheese was so hard from being reheated so many times it just tasted awful in my mouth but I was so hungry I had to eat. I would like to give this place another try because I did come at an extremely unconvenient time. However that doesn't give a good enough excuse for burned pizza and hard cheese -_-..

    GOOD LUCK!

My husband and I were looking for a non-chain pizzeria near our area and found this place on yelp.  Once we got there, we realized that we pass by this place all the time going to the Pho place next door and yet we never thought to check it out.

We had the 2 medium 3 topping pizza for $18.99.
The ingredients are definitely fresh and the prices aren't off the chart for a non-chain.  Pizzas were ok...nothing to write home about.

We dined in hoping for the piping fresh pizza with fresh crust.  I ordered artichoke, canadian bacon and chopped garlic on my pizza (they charge extra for the artichoke so it counts as 2 toppings and I paid extra for my 3rd topping...excited and anticipating the glory which was about to take place in my mouth.

What I got was a soggy, new york style thin, floppy crust with random sprinkle of  thin artichokes.  The outer crust was way over baked and I couldn't chew threw it.  I did, however, thoroughly enjoy the fresh chopped garlic...simply awesome flavor!
I did manage to ask the owner (I think he was the owner) if it was intended for my bottom, center crust to be that soggy and he just sounded puzzled and apologized saying it's probably because of the fresh ingredients.  Funny because my husband's pizza wasn't soggy nor floppy and didn't have burnt crust and I'm hoping his ingredients were just as fresh.

As we walked out, the same gentleman greeted us w/ our last name...the effort to build rapport with the customers by remembering their name from their credit card...very nice touch.

Unfortunately, it'll be a while before my husband and I forget the soggy crust and return to this place.

This place is a neighborhood landmark. Don't be fooled or deterred by the shady strip mall it is located in because the pizza is well worth it. Make sure to pick up some of their Mojo wedges and ask for a side of their ranch dressing for dipping... I can't eat enough of these. As for the pizza, you can't go wrong with any of their combinations. This place gets packed quickly when there's a big game on TV or whenever any of the local little league or soccer teams get together for pizza after games. As far as deals go, they have a bunch of them daily and their Monday night take out special is super cheap!

I'm one of those people that don't like Dominoes or Papa Johns, but loves Round Table. I can't always afford the Round Table prices though, so I am always looking for a small pizza place as a nice alternative. I found this place a few weeks back and tried it on a whim with my child. I loved it immediately. I have tried their pizzas along with their lasagna and salads. My son has had their sandwiches a few times too. I find the food very good and the service very friendly and prompt.

I have visited the Pizza Shack both during very busy times and when no other customers was present. Sure I get the most attention when I am the only customer present, but I felt that even during the peak times the effort was made to make sure I was properly waited on and helped as needed.

Others have said that they believe the pizzas to be bland or lacking of taste, but I am of the opposite opinion. I very much like the way their pizzas taste. I'm not one for overly flavored crusts or strong spices within the sauces. I like to be able to taste all the ingredients separately and yet enjoy it all blending together nicely. I believe they have achieved that balance.

I highly recommend Pizza Shack as a nice alternative to the big chains. Both for taste and price.

Was hesitant on trying this place just because the name didn't sound very appetizing.  Pizza Shack?   Decided to check it out a few weeks ago since I was craving pizza and this place sold pizza by the slice.  Their lunch specials are really reasonably priced and the pizza was pretty decent.

Went back today and ordered 3 slices as oppose to my usual 2 slices and a drink for under $5.  The cashier told me that my total was a buck and some change.  I corrected her and said "oh no...i want 3 slices..not 1."  That's when she pointed out that they have 50cent slices on Tuesdays.  My draw literally dropped down to the floor as I looked around at the other customers and they all gave me the head nod.  This is definitely my new Tuesday lunch spot.  Pizza tastes So much better when it only costs .50 a slice!

You can only compare Pizza Shack to chains like Pizza Hut and Papa John's.  I don't think the owner would appreciate me comparing them to Mozza or Bianco because they'll only get 2 stars.  So that's where my 4 stars came from...

I agree with previous reviews, if you're going to pick up the phone and call Domino's, call Pizza Shack instead.  I don't understand how nationwide pizza chains survive when there's a place like Pizza Shack near by.  If you get better ingredients, dough, sauce and cheese for the same price, why not get your pizza from Pizza Shack?

My go to toppings are sausage and mushrooms.  Sometimes I get jalapenos to add a little spice.  I also ask for easy sauce.  Pizza sauce is so over-powering, it masks the flavors of the toppings.  Pizza Shack always gets my order correct.  They are ultra generous on the toppings.  The mushrooms are earthy and the sausages are big in size and full of flavor.  The crust is chewy with a slight crunch.  I like it!

So, after creating a Yelp account nearly a year ago and browsing hundreds of reviews I finally decided to get around to posting a review.  My tastes vary from hole in the wall to trying to the Michelin list when possible, so I think it's telling that I would first want to give props to this neighborhood pizza place that I spend quite a bit of $ on.

When I order pizza I typically request going light on the sauce, if you're the same as me then you might enjoy Pizza Shack's a lot. It's tangy but not overpowering.  The quality of cheese and other ingredients has always been good and consistent.  There's a small charge for delivery, i believe $3, and they've always been spot on time. Sometimes get takeout, but never have eaten there. Seating is just old school bench  style, does seem to be popular with some little league or soccer teams in the summer.

I've been going here for a couple years now and I don't think the large pizza for $9.99 "special" sign has ever come off the wall.  Prices are very competitive with most of the big chain places but I find the product to be a lot better.

I've also never come in without seeing the owner and it appears it's mostly family members that he employs.  Owner is very friendly, used to chat with him a bit... and he still remembers my name. I feel bad when he does notice me, since I forgot his...  anybody know?

Finally I should add that this place gets the highest rating from me since their pizza holds up the next morning as a delicious breakfast item... yes, this is important to me.

I decided to check out Pizza Shack based on all the positive reviews from my fellow Yelpers... I'm sorry to say this but... for the first time, I was disappointed. It wasn't bad, but I was expecting pizza on a different level from Domino's, Round Table, and all other franchise pizza chains. Meh, not so much...

Pros: Mom & Pop joint - always like to support the small businesses
Friendly staff over the phone and in-person
    Excellent deals

Cons: Pizza wasn't as great as I expected it to be (again, based on all the glowing reviews). Nothing memorable about the sauce, crust, toppings, etc.

I'll stick with Domino's and Round Table...

Pizza Shack Tustin has very typical, normal pizza.  I'm not really sure how else to describe it.  The crust thickness is neither thick nor thin, and very chewy.  The cheese is... normal... but good normal.  They have all the normal toppings that a typical pizza place would have, and nothing really more.  Being more of a fan of thin-crust and pizzas with atypical toppings, Pizza Shack Tustin is not really for me unless I'm in the mood, but if you want a normal pizza in the Tustin area that is quite cheap for what you get, give them a try.  They may have some coupons online as well.

My husband and I set out to try all of the pizza places around our house to find the best tasting and best deal. We finally tried Pizza Shack in Tustin and were very happy with both their great prices and great tasting pizza. Also, their staff is very friendly.

Here are a couple of their great deals:
    1 large 1 topping pizza for $8.99
Monday night special, 1 large,1 topping for $7.99!!
Family special - 1 large, 3 topping pizza with your choice of wings or potatoes, a salad and two liter of soda for $23.

We really like to support local business so we are happy to have found Pizza Shack.

We randomly came to pizza shack looking for pizza on a Sunday night at 8:45pm.

What caught my eye was the $7.99 for a medium pizza with one topping- I figured why not?

We ordered the medium pizza with mushrooms as our topping, it was pretty good I must say.

Service was friendly and my pizza tasted fresh. My boyfriend liked th sauce on the pizza, he said it didn't taste too sweet.

The medium pizza is a decent size for 2 people so we have leftovers for lunch!

We've had them deliver twice at my work.  It's good, but not as great as Irvine Pizza (R.I.P.) or Costco.

I can agree the sauce has a little zip, and the toppings are so fresh.  The pizza is a little doughy for my liking, since I like it a little more firmer like Costco.

But they deliver really fast!  They show up earlier than when they tell us it's supposed to be at our office.  How often does Pizza Hut do that?

Pricing is pretty affordable (especially when work is paying).  =)
Ok, the coupons actually are pretty good.  I think they will still give you the specials without them.

Excellent quality ingredients, great tasting medium crust pizza. You can get a large pepperoni for $6.99 if you go at the right time. Bench seating and lots of tvs make for a perfect place for a baseball team to hang out at after a game, but make sure it's only one team because it's kinda small in there. I really like this place because the people are friendly, pitchers of beer are cheap and their pizza is top notch.

**Update** I had pizza shack again and I just want to say it's reheat value is the BEST of any pizza I have had. Just pop it in the oven and it gets a crispy crust (just like when you get pizza by the slice at Ray's and they reheat it in the oven for you). I got more veggie toppings this time and you can tell that there is some evil genius that is paying a lot of attention to the quality of ingredients, the way that it's prepared and the flavor combinations. I think this is one of the best pizzerias in southern california in terms of taste, beating out Ginas and almost up on par with Village Pizzeria (LA). This pizza is thin in the middle, and thick on the outer crust, a true italian pizza, although some would protest, I imagine.

As for it not being as good as Costco pizza, as one reviewer commented, I can only attribute your loyalty to costo pizza from may a night of weed induced pizza binges, thus associating a warm fuzzy feeling with sub-standard pizza. Costco pizza is one degree of separation from lunch line slop and is not even in the same universe as Pizza Shack....

Initially stumbled upon Pizza Shack one evening about a month ago.  We were looking through the menu when the cashier presented us with a box and told us that they had made an extra pizza by mistake.  It was a 2-topping medium pizza and they offered it to us for $5.  We figured, sure, why not?  It was still steaming hot from the oven.  Yea for immediate gratification and cheap pizza!

We've returned to the Shack twice more in 3 weeks during pizza cravings and lunch hour rushes.

The pizza is fresh, but I think it only tasted about average.  There wasn't anything necessarily outstandingly memorable about the pizza.  The price is decent for what you get.  The specialty pizzas are a little expensive (~$17 for a medium), but special 1-topping and 2-topping pizza deals are pretty nice (2 medium 3-topping pizzas for $19!).

The buffalo wings are good and made fresh as well (watch your tongue!).  Again, nothing really remarkable about it; it's just your standard wings with ranch dressing sauce.

We have dined in before.  They basically leave you be while you eat your pizza and drink your beers.  The place seems to be more of a take-out joint than a dine-in even though they have 2 big screen TVs usually tuned in to sports.

All together decent pizza, nice staff, clean for a decent price.

Customer Appreciation Day, whatta deal! $5 tax included on a large pep or cheese pizza. I can honestly say this wasn't too bad... and for the price, it fed two of us... I'll go back again.

Went back again today, $.50 a slice on Tuesday's... how can you pass that up??

A work favorite! There's just something about the pizza here that puts them in front of pizza staples like Domino's and Pizza Hut.  Their prices are great, especially during these crappy economic times.  Tons of flat screen TV's and car magazines to keep you entertained.  I've never sat down to eat here, I usually take it to-go.  Their BBQ wings are AH-MAZE-ING.  Must be something in their sauce, but it has a spicy kick to it.  Their wings aren't small either.

Check out their lunch special menu.  Me and the coworkers usually get the 2 slices (you have a choice of cheese or pepperoni) and drink for $3.50.  I know they have an option for one slice, a side salad, and a drink.  The salad is pretty big, but I'm not sure how much that one costs.  There are a few more other options but I usually get the 2 slices.

This place is a "mom and pop" shop.  The guys that work here are always the sweetest.  I'd recommend coming here instead of Costco, unless you need to do some shopping.

Very good pizza with great specials.

I moved within walking distance about 2 months ago and have probably ordered from here 6 times since then.

Just to get it out of the way they staff is very friendly and very personable.

They have many specials going on all the time, it's quite tasty especially considering the price, and it's generally a very friendly atmosphere.

They have a number of large bench tables available on the inside to watch sports as well.

    Definitely worth a try.

What a great place! Hangovers always require some greasy, highly caloric, carbo-filled meals and Pizza Shack satisfies this need without a problem. We were really excited to see they were playing the Lakers game so we decided to eat in although we originally planned on takeout. I was at the pho place next door for lunch and the sign at Pizza Shack that said "2 large pizzas for $11.99" totally caught my eye. We didn't order cheese pizzas, but instead ordered one of the specials.  $32.99 will get you an extra large 3-topping pizza (we got pepperoni, chopped garlic, and green bell peppers), 20 wings (we got half mild, half hot), and a 2 liter soda. SO MUCH FOOD!

The pizza was perfectly greasy and the crust wasn't too doughy or thick. I'm a thin crust type of girl. The pizza is super fresh and steaming out of the oven. As mentioned before, we got half mild and half hot (you can also get bbq btw). Just get the hot wings. The mild weren't as good. Hot wings are basically mild wings covered in hot sauce. Hot sauce makes everything taste better. They gave us 2 sides of ranch. We wanted to get an extra side of ranch for our pizza but it costs 98 cents =\ Pretty expensive for a side of ranch... but at least the food is cheap and delicious!

The service was great. They handed us both the regular menu and specials menu and brought all our food and drinks to our table. They have beer on tap too! And boxed wine. CLASSY. The most random thing there has to have been the tic tac machine. Yes, a tic tac machine! You just put in some money and it dispenses tic tacs. LoL. Awesome.

Not as good as Al's of New York, but the pizzas are good and the prices are even better. Yes, it's the best pizza in Tustin, but doesn't hold a candle to Al's.

My family has been going here for years and they always remember us and are super friendly. It's fairly large so we've never had a problem finding a table. I usually get pho next door and my boyfriend and daughter get the pizzas here. I've never had a bad experience.

This is a great place to get some pizza in the Tustin area.  Good ingredients, and very tasty without being too greasy.  It is pretty inexpensive as well, especially if you order take out.  It is in a busy shopping center, so parking can sometimes be a hassle.  The staff is very good as well.  Definitely worth trying out.

I've been to Pizza hut, Pizza shack, Dominos, and the new Little Caesar which are all within a mile radius of my house. Out of these 4 Pizza place, Pizza shack is the best tasting, its fresh and not as greasy as many has said it to be. My 2nd choice would have been Pizza hut.

Only reason why I gave it 4 stars was because of an experience I saw with another customer who was just about to order when the phone rang and he and I were waiting for about 5 minutes and it felt like 10 minutes while the guy was on the phone trying to get that guys order, it was nerve racking trying to figure out when the guy will finally hang up. Their was 3 other guys at the back working, I really wish at least 1 of them were able to pick up the slack and take the order for the guest that were waiting while the other guy is still on the phone, but they probably don't even speak english. We didn't even get an apology for the long wait, like it was nothing. Please train your bakers to use the register por favor!

Other than 1 time, service has been GREAT!

    Pizza taste - 10/10
    Service - 7/10

Always great pizza and an extremely friendly staff. I usually order to pick up, and the staff always opens the pizza boxes and shows me the pizzas (no mix-ups). The cheese, sauce and crust are fantastic. This place is second only to Pizza Haus (Costa Mesa) as my fave OC pizza.
