Review from Chris H.
Pizza Shack is great. The menu is pretty extensive (check the specials) and everything is fairly priced. I've never had the pizza, but I've enjoyed all the pastas (gnocci and chicken parm)(marinara is much better than the straight tomato).
Staff is super nice and delivery has been fast.Comment from ally d. of Pizza Shack 10/29/2011

I seriously love this food...
They actually send you sauce in a tupper- so just in case, you want to throw it on a bowl of pasta the day after- you can!
I also appreciate the if you have concerns- the owner calls you. He tells you straight up, "I got you!" He has been doing food for over 25 years. He doesn't just cook..he lives and loves food. These places are far and few. Also, I got a Christmas card with his personal cell phone # - in case I ever had something to say about the food. Just my type of comfort food and service :-) -

delivery thru seamless web took awhile. over an hour. probably b/c of the heavy rain. but the delivery guy apologized and i still appreciated that they delivered in the crazy rain
potato egg sandwich was nothign special..i asked for mozzarella and they put A LOT in it.
risotto balls were 3 for 8.95 and they were big but a bit expensive and I wasn't too big of a fan of it.
EDIT:
wow the owner reached out to me and offered to deliver other food for me to make it right b/c i felt disappointed. i really appreciate that. . while my rating for the food still stands, i will give them a second shot next time as i feel very valued as a customer here and see how my rating for them next time is. -

Don' t believe a word of the positive reviews here about Pizza Shack. They've always served food that was mediocre to crappy. Now they've raised their prices as if they're Remedy or Roots and Vines--and they're not. Their idea of grilled cheese? American on Italian bread. The tomato sauce is watery, the chicken is tough and the pizza is just plain salty. Wouldn't surprise me if the joint closed.

Owner followed up with me after reading my review and offered to deliver a free pizza. I happily obliged and it was very good. Very happy with the attitude and customer service of this business.

Skip the pizza!! dough was too bready! sauce was weak. cheese was yuck!
Skip the meatballs!! meat is not seasoned or made properly like real meatballs are made. the texture & taste seem like something out of a can.
Skip the garlic bread!! not worth it.
not sure why peeps are giving this place a 5 star? are you guys getting FREE hookups I don't know about?!! holla at me! =)
I'd take Ciao Bella over these guys and i rated Ciao Bella 3 stars, but compared to this place, i should change them to 5 stars now! HAHComment from ally d. of Pizza Shack 5/30/2011

What a great home cooked Italian meal! Every thing is made from scratch with fresh ingredients and right when you order! Penne with vodka sauce Mmm Mmm and the pizza dough. Wow !! I wish I knew the owner to get the recipes, I bet they were passed down through the ages.

For $10-$12 an entree, you get huge portions! Non-pasta/seafood entrees come with a choice of [large] salad OR [large] pasta. They throw in loaves of Italian bread too.
The food is flavorful... Try the Chicken Della Nova (sauteed chicken with mozzarella, prosciutto, and broccoli in white wine sauce) or basics i.e. Chicken Parmigiana, Shrimp Scampi, Mozzarella Sticks, Zucchini Sticks, Fried Calamari... I know the menu inside-out since we've been ordering from here for years!
Pizza Shack is a LES delivery staple! Program it into your phone now! -

Pizza is good and their menu has a lot of tasty Italian dishes. Get it to go though as this place can fill up with undesirables from the 'hood and their colonies of screaming babies.

Everything they have is Ok....but for that price, and the space they have go to Little Italy for this type of food.
There garlic knots are horrible...
I'm sorry, i just dont like this place, it's not little Italy but go to A1 it's up the block.Comment from ally d. of Pizza Shack 12/31/2009

Pizza Shack is great. I ordered a pizza at the beginning of the Apocalyptic Blizzard of 2010. Angel notified me very politely that despite several attempts the delivery person-who rides a bike- was unable to successfully mount his bike and ride the few blocks to my apartment. After hearing his tale of falling off the bike several times, into the snow, I honestly felt bad for even attempting to order pizza.
Angel told me he'd deliver a free pizza the next day for my troubles. MY TROUBLES?! Not only was Angel happy to hear my voice when he called the next night but a delicious pizza was delivered not long after.
That's what I call good service.Comment from ally d. of Pizza Shack 12/28/2010

Great place....love the new brick oven pizza!! Clean, fast and tasty. I've been a customer here for the past 10 years. I stop in at least 3 times a week without a hitch. The service is top notch and the menu will satisfy your needs. The owner is cool and always makes you feel welcomed. I highly recommend it!!

I just love Pizza Shack. I have never been to the restaurant, but I've gotten delivery several times and it never disappoints. The pizza crust is always crispy just the way I like it, the delivery is quick, and unlike many pizza joints when you ask for extra cheese on your slice you can tell they hooked you up with extra cheese. The baked ziti is yummy and I love the caesar salad. I have absolutely no complaints. Plus, I received a Christmas card from them and they called to make sure I loved my order last time I ordered. Awesome job Pizza Shack, you've won me over!

love these guys. good pizza and surprisingly delicious pastas! their delivery times are very reasonable and prices are great (for manhattan). ive had their vodka mini pie (4/5 just wish it was a little bigger for the price), spaghetti with meatballs (4/5), penne with vodka sauce (5/5), calamari (5/5 very crispy, not overcooked and they hook it up with the lemon), garlic bread (5/5 good and garlicky), and chicken francese (5/5 light but flavorful). keep in mind that this is a local pizza joint, so dont go expecting haute cuisine. you get an honest meal sent to your door that is consistently done right - the old school new yawk way.

Review from Susan L.
Their pizza is delicious (we always order the vegetarian) and the young guys who work there are friendly.
(Update): We hadn't been there for awhile and I picked up a pizza earlier this summer (2009). The owner's mother was very unfriendly, although the workers were still friendly.
(Update on 1/9/10): We've ordered a lot more pizzas from them during the past several months (and occasionally picked up a pizza). The vegetarian is as good as ever.Comment from ally d. of Pizza Shack 9/27/2009

Update: PS just added a complimentary automated hand sanitizer machine on the left side of the wall near the entrance. You hold your hands under the open area and the sensor sprays you with a foam-like sanitizer substance. The fellow behind the counter said that many of the fast food places are now installing them. I felt so thrilled, I had to update. haha :D. Was in Pizza Shack today and noticed this surprise, surprise. The new automated hand sanitizer machine is mounted on the wall as you walk in. Great touch if you are like me, and have a bunch of bottles of mini hand sanitizers around your apt or house, but forget to put them in your pocket or bag. Love this idea. Good goin, PS!

For years, this part of Grand St has been the ends of the earth. There was no pizza, no coffee and none of the good Ben & Jerry's flavors. This place slid in around ten years ago, and immediately became my absolutely favorite breakfast pizza place (remember that I eat pizza for every meal.)

It's fine for what it is, nothing spectacular. I've had a few of their items, and they've all satisfied me. There are definitely better places in the area though.

Got pizza delivery tonight. Pizza was hot, fresh, good and timely. This place gets 5 stars though, because Ally, the owner, gave me a call a while later to ask how everything was. Uncommon service and a nice touch. Pizza Shack is my delivery place, locked in.
