OH YUM!!!!! The best late nite pizza ever! While my friends were busy drinking and dancing the night away... my two gfs and I had a mad craving for pizza. I don't care what kind I get as long as it has sausage and/or mushrooms.
Coming into this place, the pizza didn't look good; but the heat it up in the oven. I took one bite and couldn't stop. I finished half my huge slice on our cab ride back to our hotel that was like 2 minutes away.
I tried the spicy sausage, bbq chicken and margherita. There was nothing really special about the pizza. My least fave was the spicy sausage and the one I liked the best was the margherita.
The service was fast, but other than that, there was nothing amazing about the place.
I have always shamelessly drooled as I walked by people eating Pizza Rustica on Lincoln...and one fine day, I finally dived in for the real deal and I must say...it's probably the best pizza I had in a long time!
Option to wait in line for a table inside or outside or to buy and go outside..sit on that grass patch thingy and still people watch?? Option two for me, please!
I had the "special pizza" with chicken, canadian bacon and corn. My friend advised against getting two slices...which was a wise decision. I ordered a bottle of sweetened ice tea...which was perfect. Don't remember the brand of it now. We sat outside and picked at our pizza. It's cut into 8 smaller pieces..and the usually-greedy me only had 6! It was that filling!
I was sooooooooooooo pleased and fulfilled after! Thank you PR for satisfying my crazy carb cravings and for making me feel guiltless because I know it was worth every damn bite!
Tip-bits:
Cash only, I believe
Unlesss you are starving, order one slice. It really fills you up!
Tip the staff, they can remember your order and get it right..as the line grows insanely long on a weekend! They are THAT good! :)
I heard they open till 5am!
It used to be decent perhaps three years ago, but it's been declining in quality and now it's just nasty.
I decided to give it another try to see if it's recovered, and despite being very hungry I was regretting taking every next bite. I couldn't finish that stale piece of crap and had to eat elsewhere. I can only retch when I think what it would taste like sitting in that tray for another 9 hours which, depending on the time of day, is how long they let it sit out at room temperature being touched by unwashed bare hands.
Sorry if this sounds harsh, but maybe its the queasy stomach and awful aftertaste lingering in my mouth compelling me to share this. It's a shame they can call what they serve "food."
Pizza Rustica...many were the times I have walked through your doors to find myself ordering from the vast variety of your pizzas (and a beer to accompany it).
I was thrilled to walk yet again through your doors this past Friday to be welcomed by the aroma of...PIZZA!!!
The BBQ chicken and Hawaiian pizzas are AWESOME! The staff is fast and efficient. The beer is cheap and GOOD (I had Stella this time). My friend had one of their panini sandwiches but half of it was ruined by the coke she spilled on it and the table. Well, at least she got to enjoy HALF of it.
This is DEF a stop for after hours munchies!
I love you Pizza Rustica! I hope we meet again soon!
I love that every Miamian has a great story about what went down at Pizza Rustica. Like the big fight right outside the store, then the one in the store when someone accidentally knocked a slice of pizza out of a customer's hand. The first time I ever tried Hawaiian pizza was here. I tried it at other pizza joints and it just doesn't do it for me. I also like the "pizza rustica" at Pizza Rustica. :)
We stopped here after my first visit to the Abbey. I needed something to soak up the incredible amount of alcohol that was in the beer at that joint, so we decided on this place.
I walked in and was immediately excited. My favorite drunk pizza places in Wisconsin were set up the same way, with the whole order by the slice thing. I couldn't decide between the three mushroom and the four cheese. Both looked absolutely delicious, but I went with the cheese.
Pizza Rustica is NOT cash only as a previous review stated. I paid with my card.
This place is good for a decent piece of pizza while sobering up/watching drunks stumble around Miami Beach.
Yum, I'm sold.
Tons of creative different types of big slices of pizza. Nicely warmed with a crispy crust. It was fantabulous.
I went here once late night when all the drunkies were out - that was a very chaotic time to try and get pizza. It was completely disorganized in taking orders, getting your order, and paying. You would think the girls behind the counter would've had it figured out a little better because I'm sure this is a nightly occurrence there on the weekends. But oh well, we eventually got our pizza and were happy once we ate it.
Just a few seats indoors and plenty of outdoor seating. The hostess standing outside was a little pushy in trying to get us to get a seat at one of their tables... Um, excuse me - No thank you - I can order my pizza and carry it out myself.
If loving Pizza Rustica is wrong, I don't want to ever be right.
I've been eating here for years before I even moved to Miami. The flavor concepts are creative, and the execution is flawless. Their staff is very energetic and they can keep up with incredible demand, even on Halloween night.
WARNING: it's very difficult to eat only one slice :)
Ahhh Yes, Pizza Rustica on Lincoln Rd.
This place gets 5 stars from me every time. It's just so perfect. It's open late. They got big slices, and lots of styles. Best of all the pizza is actually good.
Can't count the nights of hanging out in front Zeke's drinking excellent beer and eating good pizza. How could it be better?
Pizza Rustica brings back great memories of my time in Rome since the pizza there is cut into squares and on display like they have them. It also tastes like its Roman counterpart with the freshness of its toppings and the perfection of its crust. I'm happy I don't have to travel to Rome to have pizza like that.
Pizza Rustica is the best in Miami, and by the amount of people sitting all around the restaurant you know that this has to be true. What makes it so good? Aside from what I have already mentioned- it's also great because of the variety of pizza that they offer- they have something there for everybody! Another reason why it's the best is also the price- it's super cheap for a good 4 slices of square pizza!
Why else? Because when you've just left Buck 15- and you can't see straight, nothing tastes better than a warm, cheesy, fresh slice of homemade pizza!
It's so good...
...that I've driven 15 miles from my house to the beach at 4:30AM on a Monday just to get my munch on...
...that it's the first place I go when i get off the plane at MIA...
...that even when i'm not hungry, I can make a place in my heart for a slice of hawaiian...
...that if you show up at the "magic hour", are as sweet as pie to the staff, and overtip, they'll give you a whole pie for the road.
BEST PIZZA EVER.
I really don't know what the hype is with this place.
I think the pizza is mediocre at best. There a million better pizza places on the beach.. even no name places have more tasy pizza.
I really wouldn't recommend it.
I love pizza, but only when it's good pizza. This pizza is great.
Prime spot on Lincoln. Piping hot pizza. Delicious pizza. Loads of different kinds of pizzas and toppings. Did I mention dirt cheap? No, I didn't...it's dirt cheap, especially for the area. We got a medium pepperoni and basil, 2 club sodas, with tax and gratuity was $21. And we had leftovers, which we stuck in the fridge at the hotel and had for breakfast when we woke up the next morning.
I imagine it's a great place to stop in the wee hours of the morning when you've had a few too many drinks and want to eat.
I'll definitely be back.
Miami Beach's primo spot to "catch a slice" when the hunger pangs strike and nothing will quite set it straight as a legit slice as you walk Lincoln Road Mall.
I enjoyed a business lunch there today on my recommendation, as my two associates had never heard of the place (they're both non-Yelpers of course....). They both loved it, we had a full pie, half done Hawaiian and the other Chicken Fiorina (or something to that effect) which consists of huge white chicken breast chunks, artichoke, spinach and mozzarella! Very fulfilling goodness.
A tip for first timers -
Make sure to order your pizza by the slice! This was the first time that I had eaten from a whole pie made-to-order and I was as impressed as when I picked from their vast selection of pre-assembled slices as the photos in the gallery demonstrate. Why so? I believe its because they bake the pie crusts first and use just the right amount of olive oil to properly "grease up" and preserve each slice, then assemble it awaiting a customer's order to complete the bake and leave the individual slice in what I call, absolute perfection..... The whole pie just isn't as sumptuous as the singles..... Just my two cents.
So when in South Beach, do them justice and taste the legitimate Italian-ess of it all, as their version of what a slice is supposed to be like is like no other in the area. Keep in mind that the best fringe benefit of all is the people watching in the area that attracts every lifestyle imaginable.
Great Pizza! Great Price!
the place jams out good tech house music. awesome little pizza place for the whole family.
the selection is endless and no skimping on toppings.
Boo hiss. Why is there always a line at this place? Do people see the line and think it must be good, and then get in line behind them? It never ends.
The pizza is thick-crust, but totally mushy, and the toppings could be creative if there were actually enough of them on each slice to do any good. It's all for show. Really you're just eating an entire pan full of dough.
Instead of pizza, walk over to the side counter and you can order a salad. They're actually pretty good, although it's hard to mess up a salad. Lettuce, tomatoes, dressing, blah blah blah.
How? Might I ask, do you beautiful SOBE people stay so slim and slender when you have the option of consuming Pizza Rustica anyday you want?!
Speaking from experience, the two times I visited South Beach I consumed half of my meals at Pizza Rustica-and this was holding back!
Maybe you opt for the wheat crust? Maybe you only allow yourself the veggie pizza? Or maybe you only get ONE large slice versus the two I must get .
Yes I do feel guilty as I use both hands to carry the four plates it takes to hold my two overflowing slices of pizza. But I withstand the judgement. The minute I take a bite into the Tomato Basil, or the Hawaiin, or the Pesto with Chicken, Im in Rustica heaven!!!
The ingredients are the freshest you will find at ANY pizza place. Joyfully all 20 or so pizza options are displayed in the window for your viewing and consuming pleasure. You know whats on your pizza and there are no suprises. None of the ingredients look wilted or spoiled. They look as good as they taste.
Just one of the many reasons why I Love Love Miami!!!!
I find each of these locations to be pretty consistent. They all offer decent pizza for a good price. And I love the fact that you've got a wide variety available by the slice.
And the health conscious can have a salad.
I consider myself a pizza junkie. Hm, Pizza Rustica. This pizza is blah at best to me. Mind you, I have not tried all the exotic concoctions everyone is mentioning in their reviews. When I try a new pizza place, I like to keep it simple with the regular meats (pepperoni, sausage, ham, whatever) and thats what I got at this location last year. I have tried this place twice and both times left me wishing I'd saved the calories for something more satisfying. I love that they serve by the slice, that the slices are huge, and that they're cheap (especially for this area), but there is NOTHING special about their slices. They have all the pizza's sitting out and then they heat it up when you order. Both times, my slices kind of just tasted like bland, re-heated pizza that I had for dinner last night, and the pizza never was heated to the point where the cheese was gooey. It just got very warm. The crust is very thick and to me, not very flavorful so you get alot of blah bread for nothing. I would NEVER EVER NEVER go to this place if I want pizza. I would rather spend $5 and get a thin buttery crusted, fresh, pepperoni from *gasp* should I even dare say Little Ceasars? But, I guess I'm in the minority so Eat on south Floridians!
P.S. I thought this place was only good for people that have been getting hammered all night on sobe.
Pizza Rustica has the great idea of letting you get a pie with half of one combination of toppings (like barbecue chicken) and something different on the other half (like the New York steak). It worked really well and everyone was very happy with the choice. they also make a decent margarita slice, which is not in the traditional New York pizza slice style. The Pizza Rustica slices are larger and cut into little squares. This is a nice idea if you are sharing slices, but in my world, pizza slices are not shared.
Service was okay. Our waitress seemed a little preoccupied with talking with her friends, but that was okay. We sat outside and watched the ocean of people stroll by on Lincoln Road.
Is this New York pizza? no way, but its not bad either. A good under $10 a person lunch.
A bona fide deal on Lincoln Road mall. After the first meal and subsequent leftover, I thought I was pretty clever to buy one every time was passed just to keep it in the room fridge for snacking.
I can't decide whether it's a 3-star or 4-star place. When we went here a couple of years ago, it was very very good. We came back now with that same memory but it didn't live up to our own hype..
I do definitely recommend making your own and fresh... it just tastes much better. I do like their crust a lot so that's a good start... the toppings are in your own hands so don't get too creative with it - keep simple and you can't go wrong..
OK, this is not amazing pizza... but it's very good and possibly the least expensive good food on Lincoln Road. Last night we spent $75 on dinner for 2 at Sushi Siam... tonight we spent $30 and still ended up with leftovers.
Pizza Rustica is a great option for a reasonable, affordable meal on Lincoln Road. Recommended.
Its fast food fellows !! Just go up to the counter and order whatever fits your fancy. Good selection of any kind of pizza you may think of. They have since expanded their tables so it is far more comfortable and accesible now.
We like it, we go everytime we have a chance and never leave dissapointed.
Its a good place to spend a few bucks and people watch in Lincoln Road.
If you have just been partying late night on Lincoln Road there is no better place to go and dry up that excess liquor and settle your stomach.
The pizza is better than most with a large variety of choices from traditional to pizza that look like a whole salad on a slice.
Here's a secret, order it for delivery to your hotel room or house - the pizza is way better if you are sober because it is fresh made in another location.
I have tried a lot of different pizza places in my life, as well as a few different places while vacationing here in Miami Beach and this place is the best of it's class so far. It's so good that we went there more than once.
The price is right, there are plenty of different types of pizza to choose from and the staff is very friendly. It's great place to grab lunch and sit out on the boardwalk or hit up on the way home from the club.
My favorite pizza was the spinach and bleu cheese.
I wish I knew about this place when I went to Miami the same time last year. I will definately eat there again in the future.
Hands down best pizza in all of Florida. Heck, it maybe the best pizza anywhere! And while there are a good handful of other Pizza Rustica's in the surrounding cities, this one is by far the best in terms of consistency and variety. Pizza Rustica is a South Beach icon to local and tourist alike.
And if you don't feel like leaving your hotel or apartment after a long day at the beach, just get it delivered - it's free, fast, and cheap!!
Did I mention they're open at all hours of the night?!
Rustica is the crowd favorite pizza place on Lincoln Road and it's easy to see why.
They have a lot of choices and good prices, plus you can pull up a chair and people watch while putting away the pizza and soda. The ease of service (no crazy long waits, no haughty attitude, or overpriced food) and long hours, plus pretty good pizza is what makes this place so popular.
If you're going with friends, send in two people max with the order and have all available eyes looking for soon to be vacated tables.
During South Beach Comedy Festival this place is also a prime viewing spot for free comedy shows.
I was expecting really good things from Pizza Rustica, yet left feeling highly dissatisfied with my pizza. I tried the three-mushroom pizza which was fair at best. It was definitely edible, but didn't have that "wow" factor that I'd been expecting-very bland.
On a positive note, you get a lot for your money at this Lincoln Road location. It's nice to have a lower-priced option. Their salads look great, so next time I'll try one of those.
After watching college football and drinking all day, I was dying for something to eat. Luckily, Pizza Rustica was on my walk home from the bar.
I opted for a slice of the Spicy Sausage pizza and I was not disappointed. There were huge chunks of spicy italian sausage, and a bunch of veggies too. The huge "piece" is really like a big corner of a full pie, which upon heating it up, they cut into 6 small pieces. All for the bargain basement price of $4.75! You can't beat that on the Beach!!
They have a ton of different types of pizza to choose from - so take a glance around before you jump at the first one you see. There are a few tables outside and in, if you're not inclined to take yours to go. With the al fresco dining, the Lincoln Road people-watching can't be beat.
Whenever I am in South Beach I have to visit this place. Yummy pizza in strange and exotic concoctions.
Just ate there last night right before the "hurricane" hit. There tomato sauce is sweet and tangy. Try several types as it is CHEAP.. a nice change from the typical SB dining experience.
I am not sure what is better the pizza or the people watching!
They've got great pizzas at Pizza Rustica... as soon as you walk in you'll be greeted by an army of pizzas lying in front of you waiting to attack your hunger! With so many choices to choose from (I think over 20) it won't be long before a pizza that's calling out to you. They cover vegetarians as well as meatarians (http://www.youtube.com...) and everything in between. Some pizzas even came on wheat crust, for those types out there that like to order diet coke in the midst of a 1000 calorie fast food meal.
My personal favorite so far has been the NY Strip Steak pizza though the shrimp one came in at a close second.
The slices are also pretty large, especially for the price and they do a good job of filling you up. I actually wished the slices were smaller only so that I could try out more choices on a limited stomach! But thats hardly a thing worth complaining about. Its also a NY style pizza that doesn't have think Chicago style crust.
The space inside is cramped and its probably better to be eating outside. Good luck finding a spot because they'll most likely be taken by no-good tourists such as myself. Also, fighting the crowds might be a chore for those of you quiet/polite folk.
Overall a great place to try for pizza lovers and a spot I want to hit again when I'm back in town.
I never ever choose to eat pizza but I'm sure glad I did. My friends and I stopped in here for a quick bite because it was convenient and we just happened to stumble in here while shopping. They have an insane assortment of pizzas that I have never seen before! We tried the tomato basil and the chicken corn and I loved both. The waitress was extremely sweet and quick.
Note: If you dont want to pay the 18% gratuity they automatically tack on, don't sit down and just order at the counter.
Defiantly as good as EVERYONE says it is. It stays open late - I dropped in at about 3am.
Great fusion pizzas. I had a slice of the shrimp creole, bbq chicken and a pepperoni. I didnt eat all three (wish I could of) - couldn't finish it all. great portions for the price. I think the only down fall is that there are not free refills but it is the beach...
4.5 Stars
Pizza Rustica is great for several reasons!
First, they're open super late night. So when you are getting out of the club at 4am and you need to sober up for your drive home, you can always count on Pizza Rustica. Plus, they have 2 locations on Washington - 8th and 14th, and one location on Lincoln in between Meridian and Pennsylvania. So wherever you are on the beach, you can have Pizza Rustica!
Second, the pizza is delicious!!! I don't know what kind of style it is, but its more like a sicillian than anything else, because its that thick kind of pan pizza. My favorite is the 3 mushrooms, but the chicken florentine is superb! The veggie pizza is excellent, so is this one that has bleu cheese on it! Anything you try will delight your tastes! :)
After clubbing at Score I was pretty hungry and was super excited to see that there was actually a pizza place open at 4:30 am! I had actually attempted to eat at the Pizza Rustica in Hollywood once before but they only accept cash and, as usual, I didn't have any (I generally use my debit) so I went elsewhere, but fortunately on this night I actually had cash on me!
So I went inside and of course there were several other drunk people there ordering their food. I waited patiently as the 3 girls behind the counter seemed to take a million years with each order. Half the time they were just standing there waiting for who knows what. Finally, it's my turn and the idiot girl goes to take these guys' orders before mine after I had obviously been standing there for like 10 minutes before they'd even walked into the place. Frustrated, I said something to some guy that mysteriously appeared behind the counter so he took my order (hey, don't mess with me when I'm tired, hungry and have been drinking).
The pizza was good and the prices are reasonable but because of the shitty service and the fact that they only take cash, they only get 2 stars from me.
Gourmet Pizza to the MAX... Miami... Wow. We always try a new kind every time we go and share. They have expanded their outdoor seating! Good job!
Do try it if you have a hanker for some crazy (or traditional) pizza and you are in the SoBe area. Shrimp on pizza??? Yep! Salad on Pizza? Saves me the effort of shoveling the salad into my mouth with a fork while I eat my pizza.
Hot, cheap, fast, AND delicious - all on a paper plate. I paid $4.75 for a really big portion of very yummy BBQ Chicken pizza. It was loaded with big chunks of chicken and lots of fresh vegetables. There were at least a dozen different options, many that looked like they had some gorgeous salads piled on top of them. It was hard to decide! I also had a little plastic cup of white wine and the total was still under $10. Heck yeah. I was surrounded by massses of cute gay boys and the loud Spanish music was bumping away. Great alternative when you don't have time (or the $$$) for the other lovely Lincoln Rd. options!
I hate spinach and I hate blue cheese but damn, the spinach and blue cheese pizza from rustica is out of control! It may have been that my girlfriend fed it to me after a late nite when we first got together that got me hooked, but really, you MUST try it.
This little pizza place is just a few doors down from Score on Lincoln Road and perfect for a post-drunkenness, pre driving treat! Check it out!
