Katie M hits it on the head.

"Definitely not the best pizza in the world. But it's the best of its genre - late night/snack"

Place is open until FOUR am. It's here or 7-11. Your call.

The pizza is not as greasy as, for example, dominos and its definitely better. A lot of the bad reviews seem to be about delivery which I personally cannot vouch for. However, the food in-and-it-self is quite good and not greasy.

ALL i can say is its 3:30am and I am quite satisfied.

    Thank you Pizza Ring!

Well, they don't have the italian ices anymore apparently, and it looks like the owner is super shady and rips people off and is involved with criminal activity (see below reviews and the below link). so back to one star it is.

This place is the worst. I ordered from them for years, but it's the kind of place you always feel bad about ordering from.

Now that Cambridge Pizzeria has replaced Stefani, there is an option I don't have to feel bad about giving money to.

Excuse me, when I order curly fries for $6 I don't expect to get 12 pieces of fries. WTF. Their food is so greasy. Seriously, how hard is it to cook an order of fries. They should get some pointers from McDonald's.

This place is so bad. Forget ordering after 2am. I placed an order at 3am and after about 10 calls and "oh it's on the way" I received a half cooked pizza at 5am. WTF!

After putting in the over for another 15 minutes - I finally ate it and it wasn't even that good.

Useless - avoid this place at all costs. You are better off eating your spoiled leftovers that having been sitting in the fridge for 2 weeks.

Things seemed fine the very first time. Second time was a significant disappointment! Order placed about 6:30, e-mail estimated time 7:30. That came and passed. At some point between originally placing the order and hours later I proceeded to call the restaurant, the guy who answered did not apologize and blamed grub hub for the inaccurate time estimate. I then contacted grub hub and as I sent a support message the food arrived. The driver also didn't apologize for being late and didn't even make eye contact as he muttered a thank you, handed me the food and walked away.

Forget about ordering after 2:00 AM. We called the place at 3:00 AM asking where our pizza was and we were told that we were the next stop for the driver. After calling over and over again, they started to hang up on us. We decided to go to bed and I received a call from the driver at around 5:00 AM. just so you know, we ordered this from foodler so we already paid for this pizza in advance.

Ended up calling the place the next day to complain and the woman who answered was completely rude to me. I asked to talk to her manager and she took down my name and number so that the manager can call me back. Forget it,  he never called.

Just so you know, Al C. and I are completely different patrons. We both experienced the same thing. That just goes to tell you how horrible the service is here.

We placed our order at 3:09am.. and at 4:15am I was told that it wasn't even made yet and that it would be another hour and a half.  http://Foodler.com said the order would be deivered at 4:00.

I can't say if the food is good or not since we NEVER RECEIVED IT.  Will definitely NOT be ordering again from there.

First off: What sort of a name is "Pizza Ring" for a business? All I can say is the awfully uncreative and terrible name matches the food and service.

Long story short: Ordered from them the other day and it took TWO HOURS AND SEVEN MINUTES TO GET OUR DELIVERY. The food wasn't great (it was cold, obviously) but it wasn't great to begin with.

Then they had the nerve to charge us. I'm not usually a stickler for time, but anything over 40 minutes for less than 2 miles away is preposterous, and I'm still furious days later.

Placed an order for mozzarella sticks and a calzone. Got delivery about 1.5 hours after calling multiple times. Mozzarella sticks were frozen in the middle and the calzone was burnt and about the size of my fist. We keep the menu stapled to our kitchen counter with an x through it as a permanent reminder to never order from there again.

Two months later a friend was visiting from out of town and ordered after a night out. Delivery came. 2 hours later and was awful. I gave you a second chance and you forsake me Pizza Ring

I put Pizza Ring in the same category of such eateries as Taco Bell or 7/11.   Anyone who orders from here typically KNOWS it sucks, but due to a lack of other options or some terrible substance induced hunger does it anyhow.  But why?!

Regardless, you KNOW what you're getting into.  And it's generally never good.

Pizza is meh, subs are sub-par (clever huh?) Generally every meal will leave you with a 40/60 mix of satiation and regret.

Basically call this place if its 4 AM and you're willing to make a deal with the devil for a pizza.  If not, shop around.

The next day, I called my friend to check in and see how she was doing because my stomach was still very upset with me.  Poor girl got food poisoning from the wings.
    Definitely will not be back.

The best ordering plan with this place is that is if you're ordering a pizza and you want only three toppings, order the Free Choice Pizza from the Combo Pizza section. It's the same as their make-your-own pizza, but it has a fixed price for up to three toppings instead of their Make Your Own Pizza where you have to pay per topping.

Try to follow along...I'm a fan of saving $$$, so I like to figure these things out.

For example, if you want three toppings, you could order a medium Free Choice Pizza for $9.99 with whatever three toppings you want, or you could order a medium Make Your Own Pizza for $6.99 + $1.49 for each additional topping for a total of $11.46.

Anyway, the pizza is standard pizza, not particularly bad, not particularly good. The delivery service is somewhat spotty. We ordered two personal pizzas and we only got one of them [of course NOT mine. It's that shitty service that I'm talking about in my profile]. They offer standard toppings and toppings that most places don't have: prawns, red cabbage, sweet corn, pine nuts, thyme, egg, capers, bean sprouts, etc.

Whoever cuts the pizza must not have been good at geometry or something because the slices are all wildly different. It's like they took a math class in acute and obtuse angles and are testing it out with the pizza slicer. I'm not nerdy enough to actually get a protractor out [do I have one?] and measure it, but I had a slice that was at like a 30 degree angle and another that was nearly a right angle. Math FAIL.

    Um, snickers bar pie?
Pizza Ring, I don't even know what to say. I had driven by you almost every day heading to work and seen your drivers around town, but didn't try your deliciousness until last week. Sheesh, had I been missing out on some late night soggy food goodness!

Pizza Ring probably knows my roommate on a first name basis now, since he's made three orders in the past week. We've tried:
    *cheese pizza
    *spicy fries
    *curly fries
    *meatball sub
    *gyros
    *buffalo chicken nuggets
    *cheesy chicken nuggets.
Omg. I should start a support group for us. Check out http://thisiswhyyouref..., and our meals from the past week are probably on it.
But whatevs. Everything is kinda soggy and tastes microwaved, but with such an extensive menu (cream cheese jalapeno poppers? calzone with chicken fingers?), who cares?
I'm holding off on the snicker pie for a super special occasion.
I love it all, especially those damn cheesy nuggets. They rock. In an awesomely gross way.

So I figured yelpers were probably just exaggerating on the bad taste and customer service, so I this a shot.  They pretty much nailed it.  Very thin crust coupled with not enough toppings and flavor.

Customer service is in fact miserable and snappy.  I get a phone call from the delivery guy (despite my instruction on foodler specifically saying buzz the apartment door) and course could not pick it up since I was in the restroom at the time.  So I figured I'd call back (literally 30 seconds later), and the phone went straight to voicemail.  He then buzzes the door, fine looks like he figured to buzz me instead.  He comes upstairs (very slowly) and asks me "What is your phone not working?"  Lol seriously?  I hardly know you, and your going to be snappy at me?  Not to mention the guy doesn't even pull out the pizza for me out of that red pouch, he gives me an awkward 15 seconds and then I myself had to pull out the pizza.  No thank you, have a nice day, nothing.  Wow Pizza Ring, thats utterly pathetic and not even trying.  Never again.

This is the best party pizza you're going to find in the Cambridge area.  How does a party pizza differentiate from a pizza pizza?  A party pizza is inexpensive, so that you can order more of them.  It's made using decent ingredients, so that you can enjoy it, but, this is still an economy pizza, meant to be made and consumed en masse.  Pizza Ring knows this and they capitalize on it: walk around the MIT or Harvard campuses on trash day, and you'll see tons of the blue double decker boxes waiting to meet Deer Island alongside vacant cans of Heinenken and Guiness.

My preferred pizza from these guys was extra sauce, extra cheese, black olives and tomatoes.  Note that if you want to enjoy these guys' pizza, it is imperative that you get extra sauce and cheese; without it the pizza is just plain not what it could or should be.  Order 4 of them for your next large social event that involves alcohol!

Lots and lots of interesting ingredients and yet still, somehow, the pizza winds up only being so-so to pretty good range.  Good and cheap, and, as noted in other reviews "party pizza".

I've ordered from them for a couple years, and never had any problem with staff, but today something happened with one of their drivers that's got me so I don't think I'll order from them again.  Just before I opened the door to get my almost-hot pizza, I heard him yell something at my neighbor, ending with "BITCH!"  He apologized to me (but not to my neighbor) when I opened the door, I gave him the money and before he could finish giving me my change, my otherwise friendly neighbor started shouting at him, in well-deserved outrage.

It actually got much worse after that, both of them shouting at each other in the middle of the street, calling each other names, ugh.

So if you like unprofessional, embarrassing, abusive public spectacle when you order a pizza, have I got a pizza joint for you.

I also want to add when I go on Craigslist to search for a job-every few weeks-Pizza Ring posts a new ad claiming they need new delivery drivers, etc. This place obviously has a high turn over rate because they SUCK. Shady business practices...take caution.

The pizza here is cheap and actually pretty decent.  (Pizza snobs need not apply.)

The very best thing about Pizza Ring is that they will deliver to the same apartment twice over the course of an hour and not be pissed at you.  Their ability to put up with that level of drunken idiocy merits 5 stars by itself.

The pepper and onion pizza is always good.  Except the one time they forgot the peppers..... whoops.

Wish I had read these reviews before. I was in Boston for a few days for a medical conference and had a great last night out with friends. After dancing and drinking, who doesn't want a good late night snack? I found Pizza Ring on my iPhone & ordered a pizza for delivery to my hotel in Copley (not far from Cambridge -I had walked to Cambridge the preceding day in less than 1 hour). I ordered around 2 or 3am. I called back an hour later to check on the status. They said it was on the way. We all ended up falling asleep waiting. Still no pizza by the next morning. Pizza Ring had my phone number. If there were problems or delays they could have called me. I called the next 4 days requesting a refund. They kept taking my information, saying they would pass it along to "George". I never got any phone calls back or any refund. What a disappointing end to a great few days in Boston. Pizza Ring is a sketchy operation and very unprofessional. How much does it take to get a $20 refund for a pizza that never arrived? I finally gave up. Sounds like we didn't miss out much based on the rest of the reviews. Apparently the pizza tastes bad anyway according to most yelpers. Message to Pizza Ring - any business who treats their customers so poorly will indefinitely fail. I've ordered food from a lot of delivery places before. This was by far the worst business I've ever dealt with.

Pizza Ring's motto "You ring, we bring" Yeah, hours later and whatever we could find.

Okay, so this place is open REALLLY late, which is awesome and accounts for the 2nd star, sometimes I get in past 2am and realize I have nothing to eat. I placed an order here a large caeser salad and cream cheese jalepeno poppers. more than 2 hours later I got the order. small 3x3in salad, which was basically lettuce with cheap sprinkle cheese on it (YUCK), and NO dressing. As for the poppers, it wasn't creamcheese, it was some gelatinous orange goo. I called extremely frusterated and the manager KNEW that I got the wrong size salad and said there was no way to tell what popper was what. WHAT? Then don't give customers the option. He resent me the right food. by the time it arrive it was 530am, I had passed out, and my roommate was woken. great

On a sad note for me, my friends did order pizza ring, sunday night, and we did get our order on time... I ate it... but i wasn't happy.

Realistically, Pizza Ring is more of a 3-star establishment, but they are awarded an extra star for having super-sweet and good-humored staff that put up with my roommate and I loudly discussing very sordid sexual topics after we ordered our Mexican Pizza last week. Sadly, we didn't even have the excuse of being inebriated (I'm sure they thought we were). After our public confessional in the phone booth-sized waiting area (they keep a couple stools on hand for chilling) we came home at 1:30 AM on a Thursday to watch 16 Candles and savor  the inauthentic but still tasty Mexican Pizza (spicy chicken, green and red onions, cilantro, avocado, tomato salsa). Irresponsibility just feels so GOOD sometimes (even if work the next day is painful).

The fact that it's 30 seconds from home and open until 2 AM every day means that cravings for Chocolate Overload Cake, cheesecake, ice cream (Ben and Jerry's, Edy's, or Brigham's, depending on the day), and various other sweet things can be swiftly addressed.

    Also:
$3.50 buys you 10 gloriously garlicky breadsticks
    Solid calzones
Greek and BBQ Chicken Pizzas are tasty
OK but not great Greek salad (it'll do in a pinch when you want to be healthy)
"Mini-pizza" is ~$2, adorable, made fresh, and just the right size for one person

Pizza Ring is also a pretty fun place to just pop into on weekend nights and chat with happy drunk people while you wait for your order. Go check it out if you're in the neighborhood.

when moody's falafel house runs out of food or closes in the early hours of the morning, pizza ring is still open. that's just about the only thing it's good for. i'm not too sure about the pizza, but the prices are cheap, and you can meet random strangers with the same mindset.

customer service is weak. we ordered a certain pizza with drinks without realizing that they had a combo special for it. they charged us the full price, and were reluctant to change it after we had already paid.

The thing that makes this place noteworthy is the sheer depth of their menu.

I'm giving this place 3 stars (instead of 4) because I'm from Chicago and have access to the BEST pizza ever.

Otherwise, this place has solid thin crust pizza for cheap.  I ordered a large cheese and paid less than $10.  wowie.

It was pouring outside and I was tired and really wanted food and they were there with my pizza fairly quickly.  I was only a mile away, but still.  Prompt delivery makes up for average pizza.

They take credit cards and ordering is really easy and fast so go try it when you want some cheap pizza.

This place sucks.  I drunkenly ordered pizza at 2am one night, with the news that is will take about 45 minutes.  No worries.  A full hour and a half later it still hasn't arrived.  When I call, the b*tch who answered the phone told me they were "waiting for a driver."  Before I could ask any questions, she hung up on me!  When I tried to call back to cancel the order, it just rang repeatedly.  Suffice it to say, I went to bed, and when the driver finally showed up at 4:30(!) I was asleep.  I'm out $30 since I paid with a card, but it was worth it to now have the knowledge that Pizza Ring blows.

Definitely not the best pizza in the world. But it's the best of its genre - late night/snack/I want to spend the night in my pj's watching bad 80's movies pizza. I usually get a mushroom pizza. You can't beat their deals. Once I ordered a Super (16") pizza from them. They made a large instead, but realized their mistake and gave us a medium cheese on the house.

    Their subs are great, too.

And service? I love these guys. I live a few houses down. My car decided it didn't want to start one day and one of their drivers helped me jump it... no complaints, no questions asked. Now how's that for service?

I grew up on New York style pizza. With New York and Florida (a la the snowbirds) both being bastions of thin crust pizza, I have never really had to compromise. Thus begins my search for a good thin pizza in Boston/Cambridge. My first stop was Pizza Ring.

I was intrigued by Pizza Ring's offering of "regular" and "thin crust." I couldn't decide if that was a good thing or bad. My first reaction was that "regular" IS thin and the other one is "thick." Then I thought maybe they make a distinction because they put a lot of thought and love into their thin crust and they want everyone to know how to order their wonderful thin crust pizza. Yeah - that last one was wishful thinking, but it was the one that I ran with. My logic was fueled by beer.

I ordered a 16 inch thin crust cheese pizza. Just plain old cheese pizza is my favorite. It came close, but still missed the mark for me primarily on crust. The crust was too chewy. It was precisely like taking that chewy "national chain" crust and thinning it out. It was certainly better than the big chain pizza and it was just the right greasiness (come on - you need a little grease on a pizza). They could have been more generous with the sauce - which had an interesting spice/herb which I couldn't put my finger on - but all in all everything above the crust generally passed the test.

Pizza Ring - you may very well be the best thin crust pizza in town, but only time will tell. For now my journey continues and you get 2 stars...

Ordered a fried mushroom app and a Ceasar wrap at 2:23 AM. I was tired and hungry, having just got out of work. at 3:50AM i get a phone call asking if i still want my food. I ordered via foodler and paid with a card, so of course i want the food that i have already paid for! Driver says he will be there in 10 minutes, 25 minutes later at 4:15 he calls my phone, deposits the food, and leaves. Upon opening the package, i discover cold mushrooms, and a ceasar wrap so inedible that even my voracious appetite only lasted 3 bites before i threw it away. Pizza Ring kept me awake for over 2 hours waiting for hot food fast, and all I recieved was deplorable service and what should be criminal food.

PS: Don't ever order anything from here if you want to feel like you still have a large intestine the next day, I'm pretty sure I am still missing mine...

Terrible service. Took over 2 hours to get the pizza. It clearly had been sitting out for a while as well.

    Pizza RINGWORM
The food looks so appetizing on the menu but holy hell that's so not what you get!! I ordered a lunch that was probably one of the  worst delivery experiences to date.
I work all by my lonesome on Sundays at the office and almost always order on Foodler.. its key ! So this place got some decent reviews and being the impulsive crazy foodie I am i order a bunch of stuff from this place. Well don't get your hopes up like I did on a sunny Sunday afternoon stuck at work They had all these "exotic" options that you wouldn't typically find at a corner pizza joint such as Roasted red pepper, avocado and fresh mozz,. Well I opted for a buffalo chicken wrap, and a salad, then got some grape leaves to take home..
-Delivery guy got lost and said that my address didn't exist..
    - The avocados on my stuff were beyond moldy.. I mean BIO HAZARD with white dots of mold all over them... i don't know how they wold have even cut the avocado it was so rancid.
    - The chicken in my wrap was worse than that you may find on a Dominos pizza... machine made and COLD.

The only thing worth eating were the grape leaves because they obviously came out of a can... a can in a sterile factory ...

Overall I've never been quite so appalled by a places standards I wouldn't eat that crap again if you paid me.

About the same you'd expect from Pizza Days. Its actually a little cheaper but Ive had much better pizza come out of my freezer. Again, this is a place you order from in desperation.

So, all of these reviews are right, but do you know when Pizza Ring rocks? When you're walking home late at night and you may have had too many adult beverages and you wander in for a slice. It's hot, fresh from the oven and, in my experience, if they don't have what you want, they will make a pie for you. that's a pretty sweet deal.

I just keep ordering that red onion pie from pizza ring, and it just keeps on living up to expectations.  Quick, tasty, very cheap.  What more do you need from a pizza place?

Eat it while it's hot, otherwise it's pretty rubbery, and entirely a PARTY PIZZA as another reviewer mentioned. My husband and I loved this pizza when we had no money, wanted to gorge ourselves on pizza, and have tons of people over for Wii and games. But the other day we realized that we needed a different place for pizza when it's just the two of us. It's just NOT that great when you're not in party, and you're wanting a really good piece of pizza. Which is why Basta is right down the road. :) Rule of thumb in our house: party=the ring, movie night at home w/ two of us=basta.

This place is absurd. I ordered pizza and one sub with friends one night around 2AM thru foodler. Paid on a credit card. The slip I got back estimated delivery around 3:15 AM. Which was about our limit of how late we'd even wanted it. Otherwise would have cancelled immediately. Around 3:45 AM called the place....put on hold never to be gotten back to. Finally called back around 4AM and some jackhole wouldn't even look up my order so we could confirm it wasn't lost in the shuffle. Wasn't going to wait up for an order than never comes. I try them again 4:15 AM and some arrogant jerk on the phone is trying to tell me foodler clearly says orders take 2 hours when it doesn't. I tell him I'm looking at the order slip right now as he is sitting there lying to me. 4:30 AM I write foodler and ask them to refund my order, it hadn't come. I go to bed. 4:45 AM I'm just drifting off to sleep and my phone and door buzzer start going off. Its the pizza. Showing up at nearly 5AM!!!! Ridiculous. I was no longer going to eat but took a quick look at the pizza, freezing cold and dried out. The turkey sub that had been ordered had mayo on it and was soggy and probably inedible as it had obviously been sitting in a pile of food in a car for over an hour at least. All food in the trash. This has to be the worst experience I've ever had ordering food from a pizza place. And to top it off they are rude and unhelpful on the phone. They put you on hold a lot and then get sarcastic and unhelpful when they do answer.

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!!!

Still keeping the Ring at 4 stars, but did want to make the point that they seem to get worse and worse the later you order.  As long as the reason you're ordering later is that your'e drunk - all will likely be well.  Otherwise, keep it to 7-8pm at the latest :)
