This place was great!! My friend recommended it and I was so impressed.
I ordered a small veggie pizza and the sausage sub and shared them, unbelievably delicious!!
And then when I thought it couldn't get any better, I ordered a slice of cheese cake. Holy moly. Best cheesecake ever!

    Highly recommend!!!!

#51. The pizza isn't extraodinary, but it's healthier than most pizzas.  It's not dripped in oil so you won't have to dab the cheese with your napkin.  You also can add some exotic toppings.  The goat cheese is pretty good.  If you're picking between this place and a pizza parlor chain, this place might be better.  They are a bit more expensive, but there are coupons available online that can save you a few pennies.

What I really don't like about this place is the service.  I have only placed takeout orders, and they take forever.  And it's not because the pizza is not ready, because I always come late to pick up my orders.  Usually it's because the person at the front is preoccupied with something else-- that is, if they are even there.  One time I came in and there was no one at the front!  I can't imagine what it must be like to dine in here.

Pretty cool location. I love the building that it's in.

The food was pretty bland. Perhaps I should have stuck with the pizza, but every time I go to an Italian restaurant, I'm always tempted to get some sort of pasta. This time I ordered the fettuccine alfredo, again it was bland and the alfredo sauce was a little too thin. The chicken was chewy. Overall I did not enjoy my meal :( The service could be a little better. The waitress kept forgetting something or kept giving us the wrong plates.

I'd recommend trying another establishment in the surrounding area. Hopefully, should you decide to stop by, your experience and food will be much better. Good luck and happy yelping!

Ate lunch here w/friend who recommended the place--she is still a friend-would NOT eat here again.
Servers a very good, very prompt, very schooled.
Friend had wine, price normal, I had lemonade--
She had mixed salad which she said was good==then comes the bite---
Asked about eggplant parmigiana--very good--OK, bring it on, comes w/pasta, OK.  Eggplant was at best mediocre--pasta had NO taste & looked like it had been pre-cooked the night before and re-warmed in hot water. Some sort of tomato sauce w/leaf of fresh basil on top--parmesan in shaker, next to sugar (OHH OOH).
Desert, someone elses' cheesecake (maybe Dominos??)  Coffee was good
$35.00-------draw your own conclusions--I won't go here again

Incidentally the second star is for the servers---

I love this place but pizza the other night gave me a tummyache & the place smelled like BO, and it wasn't me I swear!  I don't go often enough to know if it was just an off night...

Old town Claremont (the village) was a nice surprise.  It has old small college town feel with fantastic places to eat, among them Pizza N Such! Nestled in a restored turn of the last century building, it really makes you feel like you're back east.

The service and food was great. Not over the top, but just right for a Norman Rockwell pizza joint.

The Yelp recommended "Try to goat cheese pizza, with extra goat cheese" is a green light go.

Nice place to hang out with friends, bring a date, eat with the family, etc.

Thumbs up, but as always like me know what you think.

Every time I come here I get the same thing which is 16", Very Fresh Pesto (24.50) which is "Freshly made pesto sauce topped on a thin crust with grated
mozzarella, sun dried tomatoes, artichoke hearts and fried eggplant". Mmmm so yummy.

I would give this place a 4 star but their service is not so good. Feel like they only employ nothing but Claremont college students that just don't care. Shame.

Even if you college students suck at service you do provide a nice music playlist.

With sadness and regret, and a bit of shame, I write my update...

Ok, wait, this ain't *my* embarrassment!

WHY did you guys make the sandwiches SMALLER and yet raise the prices? Please, why, why, why? Just raise the prices! They were...well, they still are, so, so good. And when I mean "good," I mean, dream-about-worthy-so-delicious-savor-drool GOOD.

    But now?

    For the money?

    Not paying.

And that sorry bag of chips? Um, wow. Really? Oh, no you "diddent!" I'm not even sure that delivery would save this (well, maybe if you delivered to, oh, about 20 miles out?! Like to the IE, lol..).

Guys, Gals, all you Verbals; please, I know the economy sucks, I know it costs 6 arms and 7 legs to run a business like a restaurant. I do, really. But y'all damaged perfectly delicious items. Just go back to the same sizing system and add to the cost. I'd totally be willing to pay a heftier price to get the same as I did before. And I know other patrons have complained too, so I know (true, yup, you all know this, I'm sure!) I am not alone in this sentiment. Yet, I have come back, and will again, I'm sure, though I want to avoid the subs...but...its...an...addiction....ack! And dammit, it's good food! GOOD FOOD!

Y'all have the best pizza locally - and Ledo's in College Park, Maryland is my comparison :) plus other delicious items from salads to lasagne. Also, generally, (recently, a newbie mucked a bit up, but she'll get there!) great service - both personality and service-wise speaking. But tiny sandwiches that are now more costly then their original counterparts? Not good.

I miss you, oh, Meatball with Cheese, oh, New Yorker (toasted, thanks!). Please come home.

I have to say, I eat here a bit. I like their pizza, I think their salads are tasty, and you can never go wrong with the appetizer sampler platter!

Last night I decided to try something different, I went with the fish and chips. They were very tasty. You get two pieces of fish and a side of fries. Also include is some tarter sauce. It was very tasty. The fish was fried, but not too greasy. The fries were the usual fries from this place, which are crispy and hot. The tarter sauce was very nice as well.

It was a bit on the pricey side, 12.00 bucks, but it was a good portion and very tasty.

Again, I usually come here for the pizza, but it's nice to have another option here.

This is seriously some of the BEST pizza around!  The price is on par with other local / small pizza places but the ingredients here are really fresh and good quality.  We've been coming here since it was located in a small room adjacent to where it is now, they had maybe two tables for two and one for a family or group of four if that.  I'm glad they were able to grow this business into what it is now.  Also, we always see local kids working there, it just makes us feel like we support them and they support the community.  It feels good. :-)

*They no longer put a sheet of coupons on their takeout boxes, BUT you can go to their website and print some out.

Though I do love the food and the atmosphere, it can get pricey so I recommend the sampler if you get appetizers because it's more bang for your buck.  Also, if you get a salad I recommend getting one with substance.  The green salad, while good, is pretty expensive for what you get.  The antipasto on the other hand has way more interesting stuff and is more filling.

The wait here can get long so if you're going on the weekend tr to go before you're totally starving or order something to go.

The service and attentiveness deserves 4-5. Server was on point and the supporting servers were spot on. I had always wanted to try this place and I received a post card promotion in the mail for a free medium 1-topping pizza so that was the hook. Me and wifey ordered the sampler platter, small antipasto salad and the free pizza with mushrooms. It was tastey and was pleasing all the way around. Plus it seems hard to mess up what I had ordered. I wouldn't come here and order anything but pizza, sandwiches and salads. Definitely will come back!

This might sound a bit absurd, but el hub and I decided to try this place out since they were having a special on their fish n' chips (Yes, we went to a pizzeria to order fish n' chips and it was totally worth it. Kind of...not.).

We stepped into the restaurant and were instantaneously intoxicated with the aromas that filled the restaurant air and the romantic décor of the quaint venue. The smell of parmesan cheese and freshly baked bread lingered throughout the restaurant's air. The subtly cracked, rustic yellows of the wall and dim lighting set the mood of the restaurant as invitingly romantic and warm - perfect for our Friday night dinner dates.

After getting a whiff of what Pizza n' Such was about, I was starting to second guess my pinch for fish n' chips. El hub and I scavenged the menu to see if anything would catch our eyes but as tempting as the pizzas smelled, our hunch for fish n' chips was far too great.

As we were waiting, what caught my eye was the staff. Yes, they smiled. Yes, they greeted us. Yes, they seated us and took our order. Yes, they did, but their gestures did not seem genuine.  You go to a local diner and you'll get that twinkle in the hostess' eye, you step into a ramen bar and the whole staff and their mothers will warmly greet you, but at Pizza n' Such, this was not the case. It was early in the night yet the staff looked bleak. Yes, the waitresses and waiters were on their toes but they just seemed to have been meandering about unhappily. It didn't seem like they enjoyed working at Pizza n' Such and I felt it. In short, bad vibes.

    Strike one.

The food arrived and our palettes were ready to take it by storm! The fries were freshly made, crispy and hot to the bite. They were very ordinary and had nothing special to them.

    Strike two.

As for the plate's guest of honor, the fish! They had two rather large pieces of fish - larger than normal, so I was excited! El hub went gung-ho and burned his tongue after impulsively taking a bite out of the fish, I thought it'd be wise to be a little patient and wait till it cooled down a bit. El hub claimed that it was "pretty good" so I went in for the kill but was left unhappily. It wasn't crispy and the batter was too thick which drowned the strip of fish (now I know why the fish seemed so large in size...). There wasn't much flavor in the batter to begin with so I had to drown it in tartar sauce. The fish itself was good, though! It was creamy and soft and melted in my mouth but the overload of batter ruined the whole experience. Sigh.

    Strike three.

Posted on their "Specials" menu, I expected a bit more from the fish and chips but was left dissatisfied. Since the venue itself turned us on, we might go back to try what the restaurant is really all about - their pizzas. Till then, 2 stars for the venue.

We've been here 3 times, moving help pizza (Pep/saus), family dinner (1 ham/pineapple, 1 loaded), and they had a fund raising night for my daughters school (pep), 4 pizzas total, and every one of them was fabulous. I have eaten in and taken out, service was friendly and attentive both ways. I've yet to encounter a rude employee, right on.
The cheese was melty, the sauce was just right and the toppings were fresh. I will definitely be back

There are about 10 of us who are fans of the former TV series "Northern Exposure" who gather monthly for conversation, photo sharing and good food.

One of our group was able to reserve their private room.  We're had it twice now, with no extra charge.

The server usually closes the door to this room, because we like to hang out and watch an episode of the show on DVD - and they don't mind.  We are checked on often for refills.

Great pizza!  I usually have one with the works and take half of it home.

The location in a former bank is quaint, and I love the downtown area of Claremont.

Nice and quaint setting.  How it was renovated originally from a pharmacy seems fitting for this pizza parlor.  The bar had a very laid back feeling, too.  We were only there for a quick bite so we ordered a 3 topping pizza: pepperoni, bacon & mushrooms.  It was decent and the sauce was exceptionally good.

But, we didn't finish it and I brought it home for the ultimate test:  next day cold pizza right out of the frig!  That's the determination of whether it stands up to my challenge.  And it did; the pie was still soft and the cheese wasn't too stiff.

All in all, I'd say good pizza and we'll see about everything else on the menu.  However, prices are on the higher range.  Parking stinks around the neighborhood, but it's a great place to hang out with friends or family.

I've only been here once but I shall forever reminisce about one thing--their House Salad with their Creamy Italian dressing.  This thing was so simple yet so darn good!!!  You have to understand, I love dressings but am pretty picky in which ones I will have.  But with their Creamy Italian, I practically had an entire mini cup (we went with a big group so we asked for dressing to be on the side) of that by myself.  The salad itself was so fresh and the greens so soft and lovely *sighs*

Since this establishment does have "pizza" in its name and our party did share some pizzas, it wouldn't be right to not comment on the pizzas we had xD.  Their Goat Cheese Pizza and Margherita Pizza are yummy!!  I've heard their beers here are great too but I haven't personally tried them myself.

I keep trying this place over and over because it is really the only pizza option in the village, and every time I find myself more and more disappointed. Food, is mediocre, on a good day, but the service is what really drives me crazy. Every single time I have gone, something has been completely forgotten from the order. I have to chase down our server for the bill, and have never once gotten a " sorry for the wait", or " can I get you more water?". I add in an extra star because they at least support the local elementary school.

Whenever I'm in Claremont I almost ALWAYS want to go to Pizza N' Such.

It's just a pizza place, but I inexplicably love it! Actually, its not so inexplicable. It is almost completely because I LOVE the goat cheese pizza. It isn't for everyone, but if you like goat cheese, kalamata olives, mushrooms, and sauteed red onions you will love this pizza. It is pretty much addictive.

I also like the pepperoni pizza and the house salad. I can't explain it, but their greens are always green, their tomatoes are always sweet and juicy, and the ranch dressing is always perfect. Weird, I know, but I'm a fan.

The wait staff is good, the beer selection is respectable, and its always good for a casual dinner with friends or a quick lunch. I definitely recommend!

The name Pizza N Such comes off to me as some family oriented restaurant that is trying hard to be hip. In reality, it's actually a nice middle to higher end establishment great for lunches and dinner parties. The restaurant doesn't feel cheap, it's very clean, big, and the staff's friendly and attentive. We came here for a birthday party and they were able to seat 12 of us by moving some tables around.

The menu has an array of Italian dishes. As you could guess, they specialize in pizza and things of that cultural nature. They have salads, subs, pasta, lots of ravioli dishes, and a big list of wines. Prices range from $6-$20+ depending on how big your appetite is. The largest pizzas could easily be shared between 4 people.

All of my friends ordered pizzas with the exception of Kiran D. who ordered ravioli. Kendall S. and Kim M. ordered the Goat Cheese pizza which looked and smelled amazing. My other friends ordered the Great Special (picture here: http://www.yelp.com/bi...). They definitely know how to make their pizzas. I ordered a large Roast Beef sandwich (http://www.yelp.com/bi...) on a French roll with lettuce, tomatoes, and mayo.

Without any hesitation I can tell you that it was a very good sandwich. Bread was warm and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The meat wasn't dry and well flavored. The lettuce, tomato, and mayo completed the sandwich. It's a good portion too. My biggest gripe about it is the price. It was $10.54 after tax and tip. Believe me, I've had comparable if not better sandwiches for similar prices if not cheaper (check out my review of International Deli for the best Turkey Bacon Avocado sandwich ever: http://www.yelp.com/bi...).

The argument would be: Who orders a roast beef sandwich at a pizza place? Well, that doesn't give restaurant owners an excuse to make the rest of their food pricey and or taste like shit just because they have a couple dishes they think can compensate for their lack of talent or creativity. The half size portion was around $5, but no way would that have filled me up!

Ultimately, this is a great place to sit down, hang out with some friends, and share a big pizza pie. That's simply your best bet. I wouldn't come here first if I wanted to eat a sandwich.

Probably should be giving this place 3.5 stars but it deserves more than just 3.

We shared a gorgonzola salad and a pizza that was half the Hawaiian specialty and half the great special (I think this was the name. It was the pizza with all the meat and veggies). The salad was very refreshing. It had candied walnuts, gorgonzola cheese and raspberries topped with a balsamic dressing. When you took a bite with everything in it, the flavors just mixed so perfectly. Very good but a little pricey ($5.95 for the side one). The pizza was fresh as well. The crust was really good, especially when dipped in ranch. We both enjoyed the balance of ingredients. A good amount of sauce to complement the cheese and toppings, but not overwhelm them. Once again very good but a bit pricey.

Some of the staff just doesn't seem to care. They look like they have employed most of Claremont High.

For the price of my sandwich/soup combo I thought it could be better. Someone should tell them that Costco sells pizza for 1.99 a slice.

This place is overated and overpriced! The ingredients were good and deserving of 3 stars if the pizza would have been cooked properly. The problem here seems to be that they do not cook the pizza long enough, the cheese on top is melted, but doesn't have that tinge of brown to it, the pepperoni does not have that crispiness around the edge, that I love when cooked right. This is not the first time this has happened.
The upside- the girls were friendly and helpfull, I put the pizza in the oven at home for another 10 minutes and it was much better.

This place is actually more of a 3.5 because I'm so cheap, but I'm rounding up for the robo-babe waiters.

I've been here a couple of times with my friends whenever we hang out in the village. We've gotten the goat cheese and margherita pizza and both didn't disappoint. The goat cheese pizza was especially tasty and the cheese was just to DIE for.

The quality of ingredients here is definitely high quality and the crusts are delicious. However, I feel like they're very overpriced. $20 for a thin crust pizza that four people can barely share? Not the best deal in town. I'm also never full whenever I eat there because as a high school student hanging out with high school students in the Village, we try to spend as little as we can. It's a much better deal to eat over at the Diner, but if you have the money to spend, I'd give Pizza N' Such a shot.

But the waiters, oh my god. Every time I've been there, they've been cute college students over at the Claremont schools and they will flirt with you if you let 'em. So great. But parking does suck around the area! So only visit the Village if you're willing to spend some time and walk around, which is something that you should definitely try out if you're in the Inland Empire!

I've come here about 4 times and I must say I like it, but it's not something memorable. Their food is ok, but I think their pizza is a little overrated (and undercooked for my liking) and also a bit expensive.
The atmosphere is nice but you may have to wait sometimes to get a table. I guess it's a great place to come with the family, but not so much for a date.

I went here for a good local Italian style pizza pie.

I got the one with pesto, sun dried tomatoes, prosciutto, mozzarella, and had the artichokes substituted with fried eggplant.

It was fantastic. I could not think of a way to improve on it. Crust was thin, had a good chew, toppings were delicious and ample, but not overloaded or skimped. 5***** because it is the best pizza I have had in the Inland Empire. It reminded me of the ones I had in Italy. 'Nuff said.

I have a feeling this establishment is rated lower than it should be because much of their potential clientèle are comprised of thrifty college kids looking for $1 pizza by the slice. This is my speculation. Read the other reviews... you'll see.

Now I know where I am going for my next pizza craving.

Service here was awful. As for the pizza.... can someone say Di Giorno??! The wine was decent (Fetzer Riesling) but food was crap. We asked a server for a bottle of Tobasco and a cup of marinara and he shuffled back and forth past our table - totally ignoring us! We asked someone else and got an apology on the side. Don't bother with this place!

First place I think of when I think Pizza!  Great thick, chewy crust and a wide range of toppings.  We always split a small salad with extra black olives and creamy Italian dressing.  Small selection of local beers and some nice wines. Friendly, quick service and lots of support for area activities.

I've been going to this restuarant as far back as I can remember and since they were in that little hole in a wall place. The current place is in an old bank so it's incredible looking.

As for the food, it's pretty good. There are better food places around but then there are some really good restuarants in Claremont so that's not quite far to Pizza N Such. And the service is decent too. Overall, I've had nothing but pleasant times there.

It should be 4 stars but because of that fucking douchebag who gave me an attitude after giving them a 10% tip it went down to 3... seriously... I ordered a food to go! most people don't even tip when they order to go... i forgot to get his name... what a fucker!

Well lets talk about the food...

So i ordered a 12" peperoni pizza upon my nephew's request and 16 oz of beer for me while waiting, the beer that they are serving on tap this day is from Dale's brewery in Pomona. It pretty damn good and ice cold too!!! So after a beer and a glass of water i got my pizza and took it home. The crust is somewhat in between a pan and a thin crust its fairly good and the toppings are awesome! i really like the pizza but its a bit expensive so maybe if you are getting a peperoni just go to Pizza Hut and save you a couple of dollars...

This area of Claremont is much nicer than the rest. If you want good pizza, try it here! I've been told Pizza N Such used to be an old bank made into a pizza joint. The interior is a mix of a diner and a bar. They have several beers on tap and Dr. Bob's ice cream!

I had the pesto pizza with mozzarella, artichoke hearts, red peppers, and prosciutto. The crust was baked thin and the toppings were cooked onto it perfectly.  It came out nice and hot! The artichokes and prosciutto were salty and very flavorful. There was a tang in the artichoke hearts that made each bite more memorable! The oil from the pesto sauce oozed all over each slice and into the toppings - fantastic.

    I. LOVE. PIZZA. and now I love Pizza N Such!

Medium Pesto Pizza = $19.41 plus tip :)

I die for this pizza. Seriously. And their bbq chicken salad should probably be illegal - it's too good.

I used to go to Pizza N Such when they were a hole in the wall pizza place in the village and now that I live in Ontario, I still drive to that college student infested village just to get pizza.

They are always playing Bowie, The Rolling Stones, Dylan, or Ben Harper and now they have a full bar (which I have yet to experience since I am always too pizza focused...which is saying something.) Everything is stupidly fresh and amazing and the options are disgustingly good. It is also one of those bizarre places where every aspect of society comes together because of their love of pizza: everyone from yuppie families with lots of gross babies to hippie college students to hipster artists. It's a little creepy now that I think about it actually...

The one thing that makes me a little annoyed is that when they bought out the building they renamed it the Verbal Building...but they make up for that with the Frank Zappa posters.

UGH, now I want pizza n' such. Damn it.

The pizza was very good here.  The crust was nice a crispy.  This review is only based upon the pizza and side salads.  The salad could have less cheese.   Our server was pretty good.  No complaint there.

We came here with a party.  The room the suggested was off to the back.  It's kind of awkward as there is a huge pole that divides the room strangely.   If your partly is less than 12, it's not so strange.  Also, there is an employee accessible area, where employees might randomly walk through during your meal.

The only thing is I booked a party about 2 weeks in advanced.  When we got there, the room wasn't set up.  Granted it wasn't very hard to set-up, but still they were still not ready.

In any case, this place is very good, and I would go again.
