After reading Scotty's thread on where we get our favorite cheese pizza, it got us thinking that we haven't ordered in a long time...
So we got our usual 4 medium thin pizzas at 5 bucks a pop.....
2 mushroom and pepperoni
1 green peppers and pepperoni
1 sausage and mushrooms
We were all so hungry that we devoured all 4.....thin crust is our favorite....3 Previous Reviews: Show all »

Alameda, CA
I'm not sure how a pizza turns out like the flavorless bland muck that someone just handed me at my door, but I am sure that love has nothing to do with it. One of the worst pizzas I've had in a long time. Bad doughy crust, no flavor sauce, low quality ingredients, even poorly constructed - falling apart - and under cooked.
In the world of delivery pizza the bar is set pretty low, I might even give dominos pizza 3-4 stars. But this pizza cant even limp in at "edible for the price" with 2 stars.
I thought about adding a star because the salad was ok, prices are low, and the delivery was quick and friendly, but, NAH, I'm too disappointed.
Ill have to take everyone else's word that its usually better, maybe it was an off night, but I regret not ordering Dominos, or just eating left over fish. -
Review from Tyler A.

Pizza Love is exactly what I expected it would be - average pizza, but low prices.
The pies come in three degrees of thickness - thin, medium, and thick (surprised?). I found the thick to be too doughy for my taste, but my girlfriend (who is more tolerant of thick crust) enjoyed her inch-deep slices. I found both the thin and medium crusts to be more to my liking.
It's hard to describe the pizza as being anything but average. I wasn't in love with it, but it wasn't bad by any stretch. I was just...normal. Standard. Unexceptional. Ordinary. However, turns out even standard cheese + unexceptional tomato sauce + ordinary crust still equals pretty tasty.
However, this average pizza comes at a low price. They have a deal where you can get 3 medium pizzas with 2 toppings each for $15, with an optional large salad for a dollar more. That's a lot of food for not a lot of money.
I should note that I've only ever gotten delivery and never been inside the building. So, for all I know the joint could be an ivory palace or an inverted dumpster full of smelly people who eat bugs and are mean to you. I suspect the reality is somewhere in the middle.
In conclusion, if you're looking for a pizza that will change your life, you should look elsewhere. However, if you want a high volume/cost meal that's reasonably tasty, Pizza Love might be what you're looking for. -

I think they have the fastest delivery in town compared to pizza hut and dominoes, their pizza is not that great but their service is excellent. im definately ordering pizza and hot wings here on the day of super bowl because they are quick and their pizza and wings are decent.

One of the best shitty pizza delivery services in Oakland. Yeah, it isn't good pizza. But its okay. And if you guys knew how bad pizza was elsewhere you wouldn't be so uppity. Most Americans don't have it this good. Imagine living in Iowa or Nebraska. Or don't. Actually, don't. And then I won't either.

Great price for pizza, I would usually order the pizza love combo which has wings and a med. pizza. Great service, although, it took a while for the delivery to actually come. The pizza was a little doughy, and the crust was huge. I could still see feathers on their chicken wings and that didn't seem appetizing. All in all, I'd order from this place again because it's pretty cheap.

Review from Jon B.
Super cheap. Decent flavor. Speedy delivery!
I was tempted to give this place five stars because of what a good experience I had with them, but in the end, the pizza isn't anything special. It's the price and speedy delivery that is.
I ordered 3 medium two topping pizzas through their online special for FIFTEEN BUCKS. And they weren't just pepperoni! I got one with pepperoni and anchovies, one with eggplant and feta cheese, and one with sausage and tomatoes. So they are basically as cheap as Little Caesars, but with way more topping options. For only an extra dollar, I got a full size salad with cheese, sliced tomatoes, and pepperoncinis! The total bill came to a whopping $17.52.
Usually when I order pizza, it takes well over an hour for it to show up. With Pizza Love, they were at my place in UNDER A HALF HOUR!! Freaking amazing!!!
The pizzas were nothing amazing, but were solid. The crust was good, with a nice feel and texture between thick and thin crust. There was enough sauce that it wasn't too dry, but not too much where it drowned out everything else. Decent pizza for dirt cheap.
I will definitely be ordering from Pizza Love again, and may have to try out some of their chicken or pasta options. -

I love me a good deal, and even better when they offer delivery to West Oakland for free! If you order online (http://eat24hours.com), the 3 mediums with 2 toppings each for $15 is a great deal! and with a really good large salad (with cheese, tomatoes, peppercini's, carrots etc.) for an $1extra, that's a killer deal. huge bonus points for being much, much better than domino's, yet within the same price point!
any place that i can pay for via credit card, online, and delivers within 30 minutes gets love from me. -

Great pizza for very little money and fast, free delivery in West Oakland!
It's easy to find deals on-line for Pizza Love and I'd bet It'll be even easier to find love in your heart for this small Oakland pizza place. -

Los Angeles, CA
Ordered online and had it delivered. If I hadn't ordered a specialty pizza I would assume this one was made for someone else and just dropped off to me. When I opened the box it looked super dry and overcooked. Which wouldn't have been a bad thing because at lease the crust would have been crispy. It wasn't. The crust was soggy, almost wet and the pizza was lukewarm at best. Now again, I don't know why. I ordered it at 7:53 and the guy came at 8:30. So it couldn't have sat for too long. The pizza actually had a good flavor, it was cheap, free delivery and if it was hot I'm sure I would have enjoyed it a lot more.

Pizza love oh pizza love. What would I do without you? I am a big pizza eater and I dig it. It is a good pizza!
It is also really cheap. $10.50 for a extra large one topping pizza.
This is a thin new york style pizza. Greasy and delicious. They are generous on the toppings.
They also deliver and having a place that delivers in west Oakland is out of the ordinary. Thanks Pizza Love for feeding me on so many hungry nights!!! -

Never again. After waiting an hour and a half for delivery, I call to check on my order. Was told the driver was in Berkeley and lost. I live in Oakland. Strike one. Pizza comes cold as expected and not even what I had ordered. Strike 2. Never knew caesar salad had tomatoes and cabbage. Dressing tasted sour. Strike 3. Call to get an ETA on new pizza and inform them they mistakenly sent me a garden salad. Was told she had no idea when the new pizza would come and that she made the salad herself and it was correct. Strike 4. Spicy wings looked like some kind of science experiment. Ate two and said to hell with the rest. Strike 5. One star for getting my sprite correct. I will be gone getting edible food in my belly if and when the delivery driver comes back. BARF.

Ok so let me first say, sometimes this pizza place fucks up and the shit is greasy and hastily made.
But we wont speak of the dark times here.
When it's right, it's amazing.
I get a pepperoni pizza with extra sauce, (not enough normally for my taste, rich dark, almost spicy sauce. Delicious.), and thick crust. ( Crust is pillowy yummyness.) And for the cheap price, it's the best pizza I've found yet here in Oakland.
So with the price in mind. I have to give my love to Pizza Love.
( I wish they could make good breadsticks happen, because they only have some shitty garlic bread as far as starter bread goes.) -

Oakland, CA
Cheaper than any of the other pizza places we've hit up and the pizza is darn tasty. Really like their crust, it's fluffy and chewy, not crispy. Also had some wings, they were just ok. But delivery minimum is much less than other places that deliver in the area. I'll be back:)

First things first.
They are CHEAP!
Amazing deals, coupons on their website and they give you more when they deliver.
Pretty fast, the person answering the phone AND the driver both spoke English which I'm not used to.
I got the meat love whatever pizza. You better be fucking ready for MEAT cause these fools do NOT skimp. Wow. Meat pie.
The crust is a little doughy and soft but it's ok to look past that and keep eating meat pie.
I'm a new fan and I tried them all thanks to Yelp. -

Hey, you get what you pay for, and Pizza Love is no exception.
Pizza Love isn't gourmet by any means, and what can you expect from a $10 extra large pizza? When you're in the mood for straight up humble comfort food, Pizza Love is where it's at. Oooey gooey cheese, a big fluffy crust...this ain't no Zachary's. It's just different and perfect as it is! -
Review from Paul N.
Oakland, CA
I tried the chicken pesto pizza once... and let me tell you, it ain't no Zachery's or even Dominoes for that matter. Our regular poker game has been ordering from them for years. Literally.
But, and it's a big but, if you stick with the absolute basics, they rock. And by basics, I mean just the pizza. Am personally too scared to try the sides or salads. The crust and cheese are consistent, toss on some pepperoni and away you go.
I've never seen the inside of the place, always get it delivered. Delivery is fast but then again I'm less than 10 blocks from them. -

Friday night rolls around, its raining and cold outside. Too tired to cook and not feeling like venturing outdoors, sounds like a Pizza night. I notice a coupon from Pizza Love on the counter: (2) Extra Large Pizzas and Soda for $19.95!
Within 30 minutes our pies arrive. Star
Extra Large was more like a Medium. BEEEEEH
They were both hot and loaded with cheese and toppings. Star and Star
The sauce was pasty and lacked flavor. BEEEEEH
The crust was rubbery, not remotely crispy...almost as though it had spent time in a microwave. BEEEEEH
It was not the worst Pizza I have ever had, but I can think of at least three other places within delivery distance that are much better.Listed in: Cheap Eats in The East Bay, My kinda Pizza!

Ok I just ordered from Pizza Love,
The girl taking the order was pleasent and took the order without having to repeat myself.
I will write the real review when the pizza gets here.
Pizzalove special with jalapenos on half and a dozzen spicy wings.
10pm
Ok Just ate half the medium pizza and first thing i thought when i munched into the first bite was hummm, roundtable flavor and aroma.
The toppings were evenly spread out, hard to find in Oakland. The crust was good also but the center of the pizza was soggier than usual, OVERALL decent pizza in Oakland!!
The spicy chicken wings were a major dissapointment!
Overcooked and felt like I was chewing on chicken jerky!
Do not order the chicken wings. -

So i ordered from here because I've had their cheesecake before and it was bomb. But this time I used my new grubhub app and they forgot my soda. I wouldnt usually trip off it. But i had 24 wings to wash down and i order a 2 liter. So i called in and chick offers me a discount on my next order which is coo and all but i wasnt playin bout my soda game today. I had already paid for it too. So after a hour wait for my food and another hour for my soda i had my full order. My bbq wings were sub par. Just baked wings with hella sauce poured on top. So after all this i finally sit down to eat the one thing I know would be good, my cheesecake. It was bomb exactly what I wanted and how I imagined it, it's by far the only thing saving Pizza Love's rating cause on top of everything that I have already mentioned, the failed to give me any napkins, not even one or a spork to eat my cheesecake with. the only reason to ever get this place is the cheesecake, thats it

Not many restaurants deliver to my neighborhood, so I'm always searching for new places. I found Pizza Love and had heard a few good things from neighbors, so I tried it. Wow, what a disappointment. The mushroom pizza had hardly any tomato sauce on it, making it dry as hell. The sausage pizza was really greasy, but that actually helped with the fact that there was hardly any sauce on this pie as well.
Doubt I'll order from here again.Listed in: I got your West Oakland right…

i give props where props are due. big ups to an honest oakland business for serving food in a gastronomically barren area, taking online orders with credit cards at 2pm on a saturday (i'm casting YOU a resentful eye, My Nameless Local Pizza Joint that doesn't deliver til 5), having reasonable prices, and delivering a moderately warm pizza to west alameda as specified within the appropriate time window.
that's where the fun ends. while it would never win any awards, the top of the pizza is adequate; sauce, cheese, and generous toppings sufficiently tamed my hunger. however, the crust is chewy-tough like old overcooked calamari. barely tolerable as cheese+toppings delivery system, the crust stubs were dutifully tossed in the trash.
when i say the prices are "reasonable," i mean this: while their prices look cheap, they are actually average or even above average, because their "medium" pizza is what would be considered "small" at every other pizza place i've encountered in my lifetime.
alas. pizza love? naw, pizza indifference subjugated due to necessity. i came; i ate; i moved on to the next mediocre delivery joint. -

I would've liked to write only glowing, happy reviews from here to 100, but Pizza Love ruined it for me. This was seriously one of the worst pizzas I'd ever had delivered. I'd take Domino's, Pizza Hut, ANYTHING other than Pizza Love's over-toasted dinner roll of a crust, burnt cheese, greasy toppings.
I'm giving them 2 stars because the salad was pretty good, they are super-cheap, and they deliver... but really I don't think I'll ever order from them again. -

As a gift to my highest achieving math students, I decided to hold a pizza party for them. I didn't how or who I was going to order the pizza from, so I was panicking at 10pm the night before. I found the number to Pizza Love somehow, and it was meant to be.
They were very accommodating to my last minute orders and I loved the selection and prices of the pizzas they had.
Now, I've come to accept that my pizza will always arrive late for any school-related function I hold. Not this one. They came right on time, with all the utensils I needed, understanding that I was feeding a bunch of hungry and messy 6th graders.
My students were uberly happy and thankful, so Pizza Love definitely passes the school delivery test. -

I got delivery and it took about 20 minutes - 1 star
I got a large 3 topping and 12 wings for 17.00 - 1 star
The BBQ wings were finger lickin' good - 1 star
The pizza was pretty big, good sauce, OK crust - 1 star
The delivery driver told me he had no change and would have to keep mine - minus 1 star.
Really, no change, mr. pizza delivery guy? -

For fast, solid, cheap pizza delivery in Oakland, you can't beat Pizza Love! We tested a lot of terrible pizza delivery before we found this place. The sauce is absolutely perfect, which makes up for the fact that the dough is a little wierd (make sure you order the thin crust if you don't want all that dough). Also, you can mention the specials when you call in and they never collect the coupons.
Fast, cheap, tastes good...but if you live in a condo or apt building, expect to come downstairs to meet them, because none of the drivers speak english and they won't walk upstairs. I would give them 4 stars and the driver would get a fat tip if I didn't have to run down three flights of stairs in my pj's to meet him. But the pizza is cheap and good! -

Pizza Love? - love love love!
I've got them on speed dial- this is my favorite delivery pizza ever. They will get to your house on the fly- under 40 minutes. And their dinner salad comes with a generous amount of cheese. So much so that I have been known to refer to it as a 'cheese salad.' I'm not actually complaining....
And when I see the charges on my bank statement, it warms my little cheap heart that it says Pizza Love.

Wow, I'm really shocked this place only gets 3 1/2 stars, this is probably the only cheap & quick pizza place I've tried in Oakland and actually loved! Since moving into the area, we've tried 4-5 different local pizza delivery places that are within our budget - this is by far the best, cheapest and quickest. That being said, there's virtually nothing food wise in West Oakland - so thank god for this place.
3 medium pizzas with 2 toppings for $15 bucks delivered right to our door usually in record time. We almost always order linguisa (though, I don't know how to spell it) with something else - it's just to die for. I've picked up and had delivery - the actual location is nothing fancy, but the staff was young & nice - just like the delivery drivers. I tip well (when I can afford to), & I'd recommend doing so - one time I dropped a $5 tip, the next time we ordered (same delivery dude) it was at our door in 15 minutes TOPS.
They rule! -

I really like pizza love. Dough tastes fresh and not frozen disc-ish, lots of toppings to try (avocado is pretty good!)
I always order delivery online (from a 3rd party, eat24hours), and delivery has always been earlier than promised and hot. Online they have a fantastic deal, 3 medium 2-toppings for $15 + free delivery. (The special also gives you the option to add on a large salad for $1.) Great option for kids or larger households where everyone has a favorite pie. -

Pizza Love, no matter what I order, you are always good. A great, low cost delivery pizza (I've never been to the store front). An extra large 'Oakland' Chicken/BBQ sauce/red onions/tomatoes hits the spot every time. They actually tell the truth about when the pizza will be there and I seem to get coupons for them every week. Definitely worth the call.

We ordered a large mushroom, onion, garlic and spicy sauce pizza. It was OK. It was a bit on the cool side and a little light on the cheese. I never thought I would say this but the spicy sauce was too spicy - it overwhelmed the pizza. Next time I will have the oven hot to crisp up the pizza and will order with the regular sauce and I just might like it enough for four stars.

The pizza is the pits! It's always soggy and salty...bleck! But the Greek Salad and friendly service make up for it. And since I can't just order the salad alone without paying a ton, the wings - well done - with the spicy sauce on the side are pretty tasty!

So I just moved to this neighborhood and my friend used her fancy cell phone to search for pizzaq places in the area. I called them on my moving day when we were tired and exhausted from loading the truck and they came super quick adn the pizza was really good! Greasy, but that hit the spot! Thier specials and coupons make it very affordabel too. In fact, we ordered a gain the next day!
