While it's called Pizza Land, the wildly diverse menu suggests a more creative name, like Tasty Pies Curries Chinese And More Land. Well, maybe not. But the menu certainly offers an unusual blend of "Italian" menu staples plus several South Asian and Chinese items.

There's no seating, as far as I can tell -- this is delivery or take-away only. I elected to pick up a very cheap pizza, which was ready in 10 minutes. I commented on the unusual menu to the checkout guy, and he replied "You're definitely going to like everything on the menu man." We'll see.

The pizza was in no way exceptional but entirely decent. I'll be back, and maybe try some egg rolls or curry with my next pie.

The Pizza Land we tried is the new one they opened on Grand Avenue.
It was pretty late on a Saturday night when my husband and I started getting hungry and I wasn't in any mood to cook dinner, so we remembered a flyer we had gotten recently about this place.
The menu seems really weird but at least they had options from Chinese to Italian.
We decided to try the Chinese options.
We orderdered the fried rice with sesame seed chicken and it was awful!!
The rice was dry with different spices that did not go well together, the chicken was also dry and the sauce was gross.
My husband ended up eating most of it because when he's hungry he will eat anything but I only took a few bites and left the rest alone.
I'm sorry to say but I will not be going back to Pizza Land.

The grand opening price was awesome, and the grand opening flavor was good too, but both of those have lost their sparkle.  The same pizzas and specials all cost an extra couple of bucks, and I think the flavor has gone off a bit.

Still satisfies pepperoni pizza craving in a pinch, but several new pizza places need to be tasted, so I probably won't come back here for awhile.  Still, kudos for speedy preparation and a broad, fun-looking menu.

One does not go to Pizza Land in the middle of the day to get pizza. That would be a waste. There are far better places in town for pizza. But, if you are in North Austin at 2AM and you want pizza....well this is the place. The pizza is pretty good for late night pizza. It's not particularly expensive and the folks were friendly and showed good patience for putting up with the drunken members of my group at 2;30 AM.

I can only review the thin crust pizza I got. It was good, and cheap, but not something I will crave in the future. The sauce had curry powder in it, which was tasty to me, but it may not be your thing. I may amend the review once I've tried their regular hand-tossed crust, which will probably happen since they are open until 5am on weekends and nearby.

Shoot, I started this review two weeks ago, got distracted, closed my browser, wandered off... Thanks Yelp for saving it and reminding me to finish what I started. Now where was I...

I'm not going to hide it, I was totally freaked out by this place when I found their flyer in my mailbox last week. Why would I want lasagna, popcorn chicken, tandoori chicken, beef fried rice, and a large pizza topped with gyro meat and shrimp with baklava for dessert? And more importantly, why the hell were these all available at one place?

I was intrigued until I saw the typos, the hokey balloon graphics, and the fact that they're open until 3 AM (5 AM on weekends!). Pizza Land sounded like some sort of an adult version of Chuck-E-Cheese only with no ball pit (though I guess I could see a lawsuit coming after a drunk patron fatally smothers himself in two feet of plastic balls at four in the morning. anyway.)

Sunday evening my boyfriend and I were hungry. Also lazy. and cheap. We decided to use the coupon for one large one topping pizza for $6.99, and added a side of garlic bread for the hell of it (or because we couldn't convince one another that a side of egg rolls made any sort of sense).

I picked the order up. It was ready on time, but the store itself took me by surprise. Now I know why there's no ball pit..... there's no room. The store front is very small, as is the interior. No dine-in option, not even chairs to wait in. There really wasn't even a counter, just one of those host stands that other restaurants have. A wall of stacked pizza boxes separated this area from the kitchen.

The staff were all gentleman, very polite, and the biggest impression I got was one eagerness and nerves. I was asked twice, by the same person, if I wanted red pepper or parmesan. The man that brought the food out displayed each box to me, opening it and showing me the contents while repeating back to me what I ordered. It seemed unusual, but was something I appreciated.

The verdict on the food... it's solid. The garlic bread was good, though I imagine that's a dish that's hard to screw up. There was cheese on it, which was not advertised, but eh, who cares. The pizza was Little Caesar's quality, I think. There was a ton of cheese, and they didn't skimp on the toppings at all. It was unremarkable though.. the cheese seemed chewy, bordering on rubbery. I dont know if that's from the sheer amount they put on it or a reflection of its quality. There also wasn't much sauce, and the crust didn't make much of an impression.

With the coupons and specials offered, it's absolutely worth a trip. Come on, a $7 large greasy cheesy pizza at 3AM? Hells yeah. I would not pay full price though. Without the coupon it would have been $16.99. No, not joking. Just about everything else on the menu seems to have reasonable pricing ($1.99 fried okra, 10 pc buffalo wings for $6.99, $7.99 fried rice, etc.) The pizza is expensive as hell though. They get an A for effort, but I think the pizza pricing needs to come way, way down if they're going to build any sort of customer base.

P.S. They had stacks of the coupon flyers inside, I assume they're still there.
