I really love their thin crust pizzas. I mean, it's not the best in town (this is Chicago, home of AMAZING pizza places), but it's quick, close by, and better than Dominos.

Review from Molly O.
Oh no. Sub-par pizza place with high prices...the tuna wrap had decent components, but the tortilla was dry and the whole thing lacked any sort of dressing to tie it together. Not to mention it was mostly canned tuna and spinach, for $9. The small cheese pizza was fine...I think my friend liked it, I thought I could have made the same thing from my freezer. Zero ambiance inside the place, but the windows are nice and bright!
I wish they didn't spray the tables down with terrible smelling cleaner as they bussed them...made the place smell like a cafeteria (at least you know they are clean, though!). The girls at the counter were nice:) -
Review from Jacob J.
Having a bottle of fresh linen room deodorizer on the bathroom countertop only makes me wonder about the hellacious damage someone is putting that room into each and every time poop is made. Covering up said poop with fake linen scent each and every time is no better! Just aerate the room as best possible and exhale said foul wind onto the street. P.s. their washroom is located around the corner out back; it's where the cooks are making the pies.
Pizza Capri is the most average slice of thin crust you could ever yearn for. It's as typical as a slice of pizza on sale hanging out in a pizza carousel under the warmth of white light. Their signature pies are tasty but as tasty as any chain pie could hope to be and that's where the buck stops. Well, I think one cool offering could be gluten free crust available for the pies and gluten free penne pasta. Added benefit is that their pasta sauce is free of dairy products; useful information for the parents that need to be mindful of their family member with allergies.
Service is good there and seating is great for the single or the very small family. Can't see this as being a place I'd go to celebrate anything. Only a few tables and most of them are for four. Orders are placed at the counter and then when food is prepared, the attending staff will bring it out to your table. Say for instance you've got two adults and three kids. Drinks with two pies (smaller in size) and a gluten free pasta could run you with tax at a bit over forty dollars. Kinda steep if you ask me.
Locals seem to like it and suggest trying pasta instead. -

There is a war waged inside of me every time I eat here. I don't know if I am expected to tip the "server" even though I place my order at the counter...and it drives me bat$hit insane. It's almost like they built a carry out place with too many seats and decided to let people "dine in" if they wanted to. Or Not. Or Whatever. Who cares.
On one hand, if I dine in and don't leave a tip, I feel like a jerk because the food was brought to my table. They may have even filled my water.
On the other hand, if I do leave a tip, my ladyfriend berates me for "flirting with the help" and nobody even asked if I wanted dessert. And I always want dessert.
The Chicken Scallopini Vesuvius is enough to make me try and overcome this head trip but I'm thinking about seeing a therapist. -

I just wanted to grab a quick bite or a slice or something, so I popped into Pizza Capri. They have sandwiches, pasta, and pizzas, but sadly, no slices. I ordered a small 10" pepperoni pizza and a coke for $11.50. a little steep, especially considering the pizza was rather underwhelming. Crackerish crust, but not crispy. Greasy plastic cheese. And there were pepperonis, but they were just as greasy and boring as the cheese.
Service was really friendly, but slow. I waited 18 minutes for a pizza and drank most of my coke by the time it got to me.
If you live in the hood, you get a small discount, but it's still not worth my time or money. -

Pizza Capri is a quick, easy place to share a casual meal with friends or family. I ended up here yesterday with a friend and we each had a pasta dish which was slightly larger than a one-sitting portion but not so monstrous as to rival The Cheesecake Factory or similar fill-you-til-you-burst restaurant. I opted for the Rotini Tuscany, veggie-style (including a good mix of freshly steamed veggies), with gluten-free pasta and he had the Tequila Lime Pasta with Chicken. No complaints for taste from either of us and the garlic bread was nothing special but still a welcome addition to the meal.
It's a half-step up from Go Roma in that they bring the drinks to you and wrap up any leftovers, but it's not quite full-waiter service. I imagine this place would be great for takeout.
Also, they offer a 10% discount to anyone going to or coming from the theater (Steppenwolf is right down the street). I respect any business that respects the arts. -

I think I am giving this 3 stars because of the fact that I got 50% off my order. I think.
Despite the name of the joint, I ordered the Capri Burger and Mozzerella sticks. Don't get me started on the Mozz sticks. Yet again another disappointment in the Mozz stick world. Mozz sticks are dear to my heart and I have yet to get take out that yields decent mozz sticks. I used to blame it on the long walk home from these places but I am starting to think it's not my fault.
The burger was decent but not something I would crave. At half off, it was great. At full price I don't think I would feel the same.
I am not sure of the pizza quality overall as I have only snagged a slice from a fellow co-worker who ordered from here. It was good, but then again it was cheese. How can you mess that up?
To Pizza Capri: I would love to see an improvement on your Mozz Sticks :) -

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE.
This review is for pizza, delivery, and general customer service.
To be fair, the customer service at the now defunct Lakeview location was always quite good.
So, we only order here because they are basically the only pizza place close by that delivers gluten-free pizzas. Their pizza is pretty average, but the fact that it's G-free made it our go-to. To wait on any given night an hour for a local pizza delivery is already a bit annoying, but we dealt with it for the food allergy option.
I ordered tonight and they told me it would be here within an hour. An hour and 15 minutes later I called to check in to see if there was an issue or known hold up. The flighty girl on the phone, Brittany, was totally clueless and beyond rude. (I'm sorry... just to double check - you answer phones at a pizza place, right?! OK..) When she told me the pizza had gone out for delivery 20 mins ago I asked her if that meant it would come cold. (Clearly I'm unfamiliar with the ratio of time in delivery guy's car to piping hotness). She then LAUGHED at me and told me that's "not a long time for a pizza..." Fine, maybe it's not. But don't LAUGH at your customers. She got an equally rude response from my end of the phone lines...
Then the guy shows up an HOUR AND A HALF after I ordered. (Keeping in mind this is average pizza, nothing worth waiting that long for). He barely speaks English. I take the first pizza box from him and ask to see if it's hot. While I'm trying to open the box he SHOVES the other (Non gluten-free for the hubby) box on top of my hands. As expected, it's cold and the cheese has hardened. Not worth paying for. So I explained myself to him, refused the delivery, and told him to take it back to the store. He stood there silently and dumbfounded as I shut the door. Awkward much?!
Bottom line - the G-free pizza I make at home is better than theirs. It's not worth waiting for them to deliver (especially when the non gluten-free person in your household has to suffer eating their average pizza just to be nice and accommodate your allergy). Plus, with customer service from the staff and driver like I received tonight - this place is a joke.
Alas, when I don't feel like cooking - delivery is a nice option. It seems I will just have to find a new place. Two thumbs down for pizza Capri. -

It has taken me months to remember the name of this establishment. After all, it isn't as if an email to friends asking "You remember the place where you got us that eggplant pizza years ago, the one with a location in Lincoln Park?" is going to yield results...
It came to me in a dream. Well, not exactly......but it sounds hippy trippy so I'll run with it.
This is one of the few places I've had my lust for grilled eggplant thin crust pizza satisfied. The spices, texture, everything was simply delicious. And now that I've found it again, time for an indulgence.Listed in: Places I've Enjoyed

Even though the name has the word "pizza" in it, I order the Spicy Eggplant Mostacolli... ALWAYS. Bad day at work? Order it. Bad hair day? Order it. Bad break up? Order it. It's seriously a miracle dish. It'll turn any rainy day into a sunny one. =)
Eggplant is difficult to cook, and this place does it well. The pasta is perfectly aldente, and the sauce has a nice kick to it. Then they top it with your choice of cheese. Best part? They give you a TON of it... it'll last 2 meals.. maybe even 3!!
.. sorry, haven't tried the pizza yet. -

I think this place is fantastic for getting take-out or delivery. my boyfriend and i usually get the greek salad (which has red peppers, GOAT CHEESE!!!!, olives, sun-dried tomatoes, etc), and the rigatoni bolognese. i usually never order pasta to go from anywhere, but i always enjoy this dish. and the salad is my absolute favorite - large enough for an entree too. the garlic bread that comes with the pasta is an added bonus. (as is the online ordering - woohoo!)
great, quick place to pick up some fresh, quality, and tasty food. -

I'm so glad I found Pizza Capri! The online ordering system is easy-to-navigate, and delivery is always fast and easy. All that, and the food is DELICIOUS.
At most pizza joints, the pasta dishes all taste the same and if you want a salad you've got only two options -- house or Caesar (basically house with croutons). Pizza Capri really raises the bar, though. The recipes are well thought out and the fruits, veggies, and cheeses are always fresh and flavorful. Even the dressings are homemade!
I've already fallen in love with the Verdue pizza (white wine sauce, artichoke hearts, and spinach), but I'm definitely planning to branch out. Lucky Ginger Linguini, here I come! -

So here I am reviewing a pizza place having never actually eaten pizza from here. So sue me.
Tex mex egg rolls are giant and delicious. Get em. The BF digs the burgers and the cilantro wrap. I am positively in love with the veggie eggplant and the smoked turkey sandwich. The fries aren't the best but if you put enough salt on them they're alright. Delivery is typically pretty quick.
I placed my order in there for takeout once and it took FOR-EV-ER. I am not a happy camper when I'm hungry and was on the verge of a full on tantrum until they gave me two free deserts for the wait. Now I pray for a lag in the service every time but alas, I've been desert free ever since. Oh well, bathing suit season is upon us and I loathe physical exertion so it's prob better this way. -

I came here with my friend for a midday snack after walking a few miles. We split a salad and pizza and they were nice enough split the salad for us. We got the bbq chicken pizza and it was just alright. The system there is a little weird on the water- I wish they had a better dispenser system going on instead of a huge igloo water jug....kinda weird and makes you wonder if it every gets cleaned out.

Disclosure: I have never liked pizza before in my whole life. I only eat it when I am backed into a corner, for a work lunch, at camp, etc.
But I recently discovered pizza capri's pizza and I just can't get enough. I work in an office with lots of vegetarians. Pizza Capri offer many vegetarian choices that are delicious, not the regular pizza without meat. I have never tried their meat pizza, but I will soon!
Hmmmm..... my favorites:
Shroom pizza-3 kinds of mushroom, spinach, gorgonzola, mozarella and roasted garlic
Zorba the Greek- sun dried tomatoes, roasted peppers, goat cheese, kalamata olives, fresh tomato and basil, with pesto sauce.
They have many kinds of pasta and salads to choose from as well. You can order online and set up delivery ahead of time. I am in love! -

After several visits to the Belmont location, I was expecting the same great food and service.
It is, unfortunately, not even close. The most obvious difference is that orders have to be placed at the counter instead of wait staff. Additionally, the food is not nearly as tasty. -

This is always my fail-safe for delivery if I want something that's fairly good in quality and taste, and on time. The pizza is okay, and just okay. If I'm in the mood I will order a thin with mushroom and spinach, but I usually stick with the entrees and apps:
-mozzarella sticks--they seem homemade because the breading is good and not hard as a rock
-Popeye penne--mostaccolli in a light cream sauce with chicken, spinach and pine nuts. So good.
-Chicken Vesuvio--classic Italian dish; chicken breasts with roasted potatoes & peas in a white wine sauce (garlic, rosemary, red pepper flakes) **the red pepper adds a little kick that I wasn't used to, but I liked it.
-Roast turkey sandwich--they serve turkey on a roll with Gouda cheese (yum!), lettuce, tomato, and chopped garlic.
-House salad--their Italian dressing is good and the salad has lots of goodies in it: lettuce (obviously), carrots, onion, black olives, croutons, mushrooms, etc.
If I'm hungover, I will get the cream of potato soup, which surprisingly does not have any chunks of potato in it. I was a little disappointed the first time, but the taste is good. The minestrone is more like a vegetable soup, which minestrone is, but this has squash, lima beans and other not-so-typical-for-minestrone vegetables.
Steer clear of:
-the hummus--the oil was separating and the pita was dry and gross -

I live super close to Pizza Capri and I am glad to say I have an above average take-out place in my neighborhood.
The greek salad is soooo delish. Major stars for the farmer sandwich and the lucky ginger chicken pasta as well. I've only had the thin crust pizza, and it's definitely decent. Not my favorite in the city but not bad at all.
They are super speedy, which I love. I can typically call for take-out and pick up my food 15-20 minutes later. -

Crust was awful, like some prefab frozen deal.
Going to the bathroom was like walking through the kitchen. Very odd.
This town prides itself on pizza. This was some of the worst. -

Though I do feel that most of the menu is over priced, I have become something of a regular at this Pizza Capri location as it is extremely convenient to where I work.
I always get take out, and I have absolutely no complaints about service. The folks here are always very pleasant and efficient, and my order is always ready quickly. The staff is very knowledgeable about the different menu items and are wonderful about making substitutions or additions to dishes. I have changed the type of bread on sandwiches or asked for a different side item or added extra vegetables to pasta dishes with absolutely no problem.
I love the cream of potato soup. It is warm and creamy (don't expect chunks of potato or vegetables - it is all pureed into creamy goodness) and delicious and incredibly affordable. As for pizza, I LOVE the rosemary potato and chicken pizza. The white wine lemon sauce is the perfect compliment to the chicken and potato, and the slices of potato are so tender they almost melt in your mouth. Mmmm....delicious chicken, potato, herby, garlicy happiness.
The pastas dishes tend to be over sauced, but they are still very tasty and are quite filling. I like the rotini tuscany ( rotini with chicken, broccoli, sun-dried tomatoes, garlic, thyme, and parmesan cheese tossed in olive oil) and the pasta shells with salmon (pasta shells with salmon, mushrooms, garlic, and shallots served in a creamy tomato sauce).
Although I primarily go here for the convenience, I have always had excellent service and the food tends to be good. -
Review from Brian L.
Don't judge a book by its cover. It doesn't have much against its next door competitors Alinea and Boka, but it's still awesome in its own right. I don't typically dine in because 1) I just live around the corner so take-out is key 2) there's not much of a dine-in area but about 9 tables. However, sometimes I'm just too hungry to wait :)
So why do I love Pizza Capri so much? I've been eating here for the past 4 years and you know what? I can't find a place that makes better... you'd think I'd say pizza but nope! Grilled calamari! 'What?! Grilled calamari!' you say? It's true. It comes with some lemony, herby olive oil for dipping equally as amazing as the calamari itself. Love it. Like, last meal on earth, love it. And everything else on the menu is bomb too.
Lemme just rattle off some other fav's: tex mex rolls, garlic bread, chicken kabobs, tequila lime chicken fettuccine, rotini tuscany, meatball sandwich, buffalo strips, basically if it sounds good, they give you exactly what you'd expect. nothing less but pure deliciousness. except their desserts are aiight. try their tiramisu if its brand spanking fresh made that day; otherwise, its worth skipping.
You might've noticed that I haven't mentioned their pizza. Well, their stuffed crust is AMAZING. Period. The buttery flaky crust makes my heart melt just writing about it. But the thin crust, well, isn't as flavorful and i agree with Phil M. the cheese is overwhelming. Not a good or bad thing, it is what it is. -

Zero stars for pizza - The sauce is icky and the crust is usually too saturated to pick up the piece of pizza.
3stars for other options - Nothing special, good but not great. The appetizers are good, recommend the grilled calamari, and the pastas are pretty decent, I like the gnocchi. -

I figured this would be just another chain, quick eat Italian joint. I was surprisingly impressed by the food. There is zero ambiance so it's a great place to pick up food to take somewhere else or get delivery. It has all of your typical pizza and pasta dishes, but the Bolognese was really a very hearty, saucy dish. I had meaty, flavorful wings from here as well. The calamari was just so-so, as I guessed it might be. Don't expect gourmet, but the quick eats do the trick.

We stopped by Pizza Capri before seeing Don't Dress For Dinner at the Royal George Theater. We ordered two quick appetizers so we could get moving quickly - potato soup and garlic bread.
We waited more than 10 minutes for this food and asked how long it'd be and they were pretty "Uh, it's almost ready?" when we were obviously rushed. We ended up asking for our money back and munching on theater candy instead. Totally disappointing from a place that alleges to be fast. -

Whoever said, "There's no such thing as bad pizza" has never eaten at Pizza Capri. I would actually describe their pizza as inedible. The crust is like cardboard. The sauce tastes like canned tomatoes. The cheese is rubbery. Hands down, the worst pizza I have ever had.

I don't know why I keep ordering from here-- it's never bad, but it's never very good either. For instance, they have a Far East Chicken salad, that has a great dressing, but is pretty much only lettuce and shredded carrots. While it's tasty, it could be improved-- green onions, sesame seeds? I don't know, something besides the sad dried-out little pieces of chicken that top it. Sadly, I'll probably keep ordering from here, at least I can count on its consistency.

I've only had delivery so I can only comment on delviery service. They've always delivered sooner than the time they quoted. The pasta dishes are pretty good, but I'm not a fan of their pizza. They give you a ton of food so there's more than enough for leftovers.

This place has started my love for tortellini. I have gotten the "tri-color tortellini tossed with grilled chicken, garlic, pine nuts, spinach, and parmesan basil cream sauce" twice and have been impressed both times. I added broccoli to it and they did it happily. Very delicious!

Wonderful food, but horrible service. My friend and I went for lunch. We were the only people there when we ordered. By the time we recieved our food, it was 40 minutes later and the placed was packed with people eating. It wouldn't have been so bad if someone would have let us know what was going on, but I had to go to the counter to ask why it was taking so long. I had a delicious "Thai Pie" pizza. It was excellent.

This place has now disappointed me twice. They messed up my order once, which was cool, as my next order was comped. The other day I go in and order my usual Salmon salad, which apparently isn't on the menu, but which they always seem to understand. I order it once or twice a week, and they usually get it right. So I go this time and order the salad and the clerk, Lisa, says they don't make that salad. I said, okay, but I just had it last night. She says, well you may have had another salad, but we haven't had mangoes on a salad in 2 years. I say, well, you had mangoes on it last night because that's what I ordered. She refused to budge on this. I've ordered the same salad over 10 times in the last 2 months. I walked out. The food at this place I still like, and usually, the customer service is pretty good. But they are definitely on a losing streak with me lately. The customer is NOT always right. But in this case, he was. Disappointing.

Pizza is pizza, right? Umm no. I had never tried this place before but it's right around the corner from me. I'm not too picky when it comes to pizza, especially when it comes to 'hungover get something in my tummy now' pizza. But honestly, even in that state I could only bring myself to eat 2 little squares of pizza. (I ordered the thin style w tomatoes, spinach, and chicken.) The crust has no flavor, despite being drenched in oil. The chicken was very dry and again, no flavor; it was pretty lean chicken though.
I'll probably be back given how close it is to my house, but definitely not for more pizza. They had a lot of pasta/ sandwich/ salad options that sounded good. Hard to mess those up. Then again, I would have guessed the same thing about pizza... -
Review from Kwoky L.
Living around this neighborhood can be kinda tough sometimes. It's surrounded by all sorts of fancy restaurants. I'm sure they are all very good but sometimes, all I want is just to have a quick and simple lunch, cheap but isn't fast food. Pizza capri fits the description perfectly. I tried their Vendure pizza which was pretty decent. They also have plenty of pasta and salads too and they are all priced reasonably.
