Review from Susan D.
Meet Daphne's younger, hotter sister: Pita Fresh Grill! Like Daphne's Greek but better and cheaper.
We got the Gyro plate, Dolmades (grape leaves), Hummus Appetizer, and 1 soft drink. Came up to $20 for two people (without tip). Food was delish (although the Dolmades were a little too tangy).
Service was great! Super friendly, fast food joint. Sort of like a help yourself place. I got my own drink and threw away my plates.
Overall, I'll be back! -

gyro was ok. meet seemed particularly soft.
hummus was very bland.
quite possibly the worst falafel ive ever had. fiance described it as "yesterday's falafel." i think she may have been right. either yesterday's or fried past the point of no return. -

Good food and incredibly friendly service made this place a place that I will definitely return to. I had the Gyro plate and even got the baklava because well, I never see it available at many places. I had the side of fries too because they looked great. My gf was with me, and she had the same except she had the rice pilaf instead of the fried.
Everything was great. The baklava was incredibly rich, so I am glad I only bought one piece for the both of us to share. The available outside seating was nice too.
Good job guys, I will be back for sure! -

My go to spot for lunch at work. I only get the classic gyro with fries but that's all I need. It's super tasty and just the right amount of food. :D

Great food! Gyro plate was awesome. Meat was very tender and delicious. Would highly recommend coming here.

Came here with a coworker for lunch. It gets pretty busy during the lunch rush. Unfortunately it's a small joint with limited seating. Wait was a little long but well work the wait. Had the gyro lunch special. Everything was delicious and fresh. Prices are reasonable. Would come back when in the area.

Excellent Greek Food! Went with a couple of friends, we picked a time that it was not busy (we wanted to enjoy our food)! Had the appetizer combo, gyro pita with fries, islands pasta, and souvlaki chicken plate! It was very good, well cooked, and very good generous portions. The spicy feta dip was too spicy, but we did manage to handle it! I did not like the seasoning on the pita but we discovered that we can get it without it! Service was not fast not slow, this is a fast food place, but they serve Greek food, not subway sandwiches! The place looks o.k. they could fix it up a little bit but we did not go for the decor, we went to eat Greek food and it was pretty good and definitely fresh! We will be back for sure, and I recommend this place, by the way; Greek is cooking and involved in the kitchen (I talked to the guy is very polite)!

A little hole in the wall Greek restaurant, that is really good. I got the falafel pita wrap. Very yummy and large portions. The pita bruschetta was amazing, especially with the spicy feta.
The kid at the counter was a bit absent-minded, but the food more than made up for it. Would recommend everyone try this place. -

Note they no longer accept http://Restaurant.com gift certs here and the owner is peeved that they won't remove him off their site! I almost walked out when he declined by gift cert, but boy am i glad i didn't walk. This place has the nicest service and the owner goes above and beyond. The food was seriously delicious, it is wayyyy better than any other greek place I have been to. I can't wait to go back again.

It's in a little shopping plaza right close to Costco. It's on Newhope St and W MacArthur Ave in Fountain Valley. Decor is nothing fancy with several tables. It's a quick service place but they'll bring you your foods if you eat in. It's a slow service. I waited 15 to 20 min and the other table got wrong orders...

Gyro sandwich: Light and fluffy. It's not stinky and good seasoning. I don't like it wasn't so warm. I'm the person who enjoys "hot food should be served hot and cold food should be served cold". Not bad.
Pita was supposed to be fresh. Yes, it was soft.
Chicken sandwich: I think it was way overcooked for me and lacked in flavors. I prefer the classic gyro.
French fries: You'll get them if you added $1. Good volume but not hot nor crispy. It's seasoned. I'm super picky when it comes to fries, I don't like it.

It's OK. It got 4 stars with good reviews though, I don't see anything special.Listed in: Mediterranean Foods in CA!

I was really impressed with this place. We wanted to try Fish-o-licous but then they were closed on Sundays. BOO! what is up with restaurants closed on Sundays??
Anyways, enough about my rant LOL. This place was surprisingly good. I got the Atlantic Salmon which comes with Pita Bread, rice and some pea side dish. The salmon was moist, rice was prefect, Pita bread was well seasoned and fresh. Not a big fan of Peas but my friends like it.
My cousin ordered the pork salad plate and she said it was pretty good. The pork was good and not dry. My Fiance ordered the Chicken kabob plate. It was pretty good too. The chicken was tender and not dry also.
Overall, thanks to my friend Grace, I think I am starting to like Greek and Mediterranean food more. -

CLASSIC GYRO
I got the hummus too. Pretty good. The pita was soft and toasty, like warm bread w/ butter. Delicious!
Of what me and my friend had, I would recommend the Classic Gyro over the Pita Fresh Gyro. The Pita Fresh Gyro's meat was a little dry and filled with more vegetables (like lettuce, tomatoes, etc.).
The Classic Gyro, however, was overstuffed with savory cuts of meat and oozing with sauce. Super delicious (and pretty big too).
It's a little bit heavy but pretty good. I would return if I'm in the area.
PS. I only mainly only went because FIsh-O-Licious was closed on Sundays. -

This is my go-to destination for fast Greek food whenever I'm in the area. My sister in law's store is close by so this place is very convenient. To keep it short:
PROS:
+ Great location---it's in the same plaza as Dippin Dots, Coffee Bean and Costco is just across the street.
+ Ran by actual Greek people.
+ Delicious food
+ Love their Greek Coffee---in fact, I'm craving it as I write this!
CONS:
- Small---they should really expand!
- Slow---I hate waiting especially since I ordered on the phone more than half an hour ago.
- Hummus was okay, I've had better.
Recommendations:
Food: 'Classic Gyro' or 'Meze Combo'
Drinks: 'Greek Coffee' is sensational!
Bottomline: Great Greek food located in a very convenient location! Once you've tried it, you cannot resists but come back! -

Mmmmmm...this place was surprisingly good.
Ordered the Chicken breast sandwich and added fries for $1.00. It was a super filling meal! The chicken was tender and the pita bread was fluffy and delicious with fresh tomatoes, red onions, and tzatziki sauce. Yum-O! The fries were tasty too and really didn't need the ketchup. As an afterthought, I ordered the baklava. So flaky and nutty and gooey. Yum-O x 2! I'm already looking at the menu for my next meal! -

The portions are really good for the price you're paying, and the service you get far exceeds any expections.
If you want a little bit of everthing, try the Meze Combo: warm grilled pita bread, gyro meat, stuffed grape leaves, fresh hummus, tzatziki, and (my favorite) habanero sauce.
Ahh yes, back to the service. While I was eating, in came two hulking behemoth gym junkies that had just finished their workout session. When the employee brought out their food, their gyros and meat plates were almost double the size. The pumped up patrons were bewildered as to why they got such a huge hookup--the employee calmly explained to them, "You guys look like you could use the extra protein so I gave you more meat." I'm sure those guys will definitely be back. -

My first review since summer school has started...
I'm sorry I kept my 15 fans waiting, but, at long last, my next review!
Loved the service :D
though, the service impressed my a bit more than the food.
The man behind the counter greeted us with a smile and was more than happy to answer our questions in regards to the menu as well as amuse us with his witty words.
My sugar pie honey bunch and I got:
swarma plate w/ a complimentary kabob of pork tenderloin
and a grilled seasoned pacific cod filet plate.
Before our food came out, the nice man behind the counter gave us a complimentary plate of grilled pita bread with two types of dip :)
One was kinda tomato-ey, and the other was like a spicy hummus.
Delicious!
Then the nice man brought us our entrees.
Shwarma meat was only 20% lamb and 80% beef, and coulda used some more color as i like a nice crisp layer on mah shwarma!
The pork tenderloin was way overcooked!
Pork can be cooked medium people!
Mother still don't believe me...
Continuing...
rice was more salty than i'm used to, but still good.
the side salad that came with some feta cheese and a nice balsamic vinaigrette was enjoyable:D
The cod was cooked well, but was under seasoned.
I resulted to spreading some of the tasty dip onto the fish.
The portions are fairly large.
Sugar pie honey bunch only finished half her plate;
I finished my whole plate 8D
I enjoyed my first time here...
food was about 3.5 stars, but service was warm and friendly :)
Gotta agreed with Yelp buddy, Laura S. when she says this place is not quite, "OhMyGoshComeEatHereNowThisShiz IsTheBomb-worthy,"
but t'is a decent choice for Greek if you're in the area.
OK!
Time to get out of bed and start my day!
Much love, Yelpers! -

They got me. I'm a fan. Loads of food for the price. They want you to come back for sure. I ordered the Meze plate and it took me 2 days to finish it. YUMMY! Like this place better than Daphne's.

A place owned by actual Greek people! WOW! what a concept!
The best thing about Pita Fresh Grill is that they aren't just some chain Greek restaurant like Daphne's. They have a wide range of daily specials that they write on a bulletin board. The prices are pretty good and you definitely get your money's worth in my opinion.
So far, I've had:
- Chicken pita sandwich. YUM! Warm pita bread with succulent marinated chicken, tzatziki sauce, and veggies. I always get the combo which costs $1 more and it comes with the pasta/rice which is also really good.
- Chicken Kabobs. I like the marinade they use with their chicken. It is grilled but it tastes so good. The kabob comes with 2 skewers, salad, rice/pasta, pita bread, and tzatziki sauce. It comes to about $8-9 and well worth the price.
Overall I would highly recommend this place for Greek food. I have been here several times and I know I should try other menu items, but the two main dishes are just too good. This place is great when you want to eat something relatively healthy and actually feel good after eating it. -

It's so funny bc I like this place much better than George's in LB!
Service - Stellar. The owner is gracious, pleasant and incredibly thoughtful. I love that he knows his food and presents great recommendation on food preparation. He also gave us some free samples to try!
Food - Perfectly seasoned and fresh.
1. Hummus - Pita breads had nice grill marks and were lighted dusted with seasoning. I hate when people undercook pita. Hummus was light and garlicy.
2. Classic Gyro - Overflowing with meat that was tender and moist.
3. Souvlaki Plate - Try the lamb! Well seasoned and tender. -

Have eaten here a few times and every time I have been content.
Their falafel gyro is yummy!
The gentleman who seems to always be taking the orders is super nice and accommodating.
It can get a little packed because the shop is narrow with very few tables. (The shopping center should offer an outside eating section...)
Aniwhoo, pricing is alright, food is yum, service is great, I will continue to eat here! -

I have returned here several times, their original gyro is fantastic, stuffed full of goodness at a good price. The people there are very nice and interact with you some despite being busy, something many businesses tend to lack these days.
Definitely will go back, highly recommend! -

I work right down the street, so Pita Fresh has become a lunch time staple at my office. The food is pretty delish, classic gyro is a great standard and the kopanisti is a must try.
They're really great about organizing large orders, which makes my lunch break so much easier. -

Honestly, the food was good but I was hoping for more. Especially more flavor.
Maybe there's not a lot to do with a chicken breast sandwich but it was bland and the fries weren't that great. I would up adding hot sauce to them.
Plus my extra pita was burned. Like way too burned. My friend had a salad which she said was fine but as she also said how many ways can you mess up a salad? Service was good and it wasn't crowded at all. I'd just like to say the food wasn't so... ordinary. But it kind of was. Maybe they were having an off day. Maybe I was having an off day. Maybe my expectations were impossibly high... But I couldn't help think I had been to a couple better places. -

Service here is very accommodating
I came here with my fellow foodie (Lil bro) We totally looked lost upon walking in.. I had one of those coupons from the Entertainment Book B1G1, might as well try it out! I think the worker there knew it was our first time.. He pointed out the specials along with his favorites
I got the combo plate.. favorite part of it was the salad! Yumm.. It's like balsamic dressing + lemon.. with a bunch of feta cheese on top! Cheesy goodness!
Next trip I'll just get the salad and hummus appetizer
Combo meals are huge! -

I've been coming here a lot more often since it's close to my office - and the more I eat here the more I think it's not that great.
It's OK.
A-OK.
But there's nothing that's like, OhMyGoshComeEatHereNowThisShizIsTheBomb-worthy.
Don't get me wrong, I'd rather come here than carl's jr. It's a local, family owned business and I like that.
I really wish they'd stop using whatever they put on their pita bread - it's not necessary and pretty much ruins it, in my opinion.
Regardless, I will be back.1 Previous Review: Show all »

I'm not a greek food connoisseur. So take what you will:
FOOD = tasty and fresh
SERVICE = friendly and enjoyable, everyone seems to actually like working there!
ENVIRONMENT = consistently clean, adorably-themed, relaxed
I've never been to Greece, so if you ask me if it tastes like I stepped into the home country itself, I couldn't tell you. But you know what, I'm happy with what I'm offered!
RECOMMENDATIONS:
All pita sandwiches are lovely
Chicken Breast Salad is my favorite
The spicy feta stuff w/ pita bread is a great appetizer with a kick -
Review from Hyerim L.
Hi, newbie here to Greek food. But thanks to Pita Fresh Grill I'm here to stay.
Tis a small and humble place (like Shakira's youknowwhats) but they've got what it takes. My friend and I stood in front of the menu pondering this or that for quite a bit of time, not knowing anything besides hummus/pita and trying to pronounce words like tzatziki. We ended up getting the tzatziki appetizer (served with ample pita bread) after trying a bit of the sample the sweet lady gave us. It's got this herby and spicy kick that's really unique. We also got the pitafresh gyro (pronounced "yeeroh" in case you're wondering) which comes with pork and plenty of fresh veggies. We also got the lamb souvlaki plate (delicious lamb skewers!) and dolmades, which are grape leaves stuffed with sweet rice.
Fresh and unique food that's reasonably priced and such a welcome change from all the Mexican and Korean BBQ I usually consume every week. The woman working there was just a sweetie, she kept coming around and asking us if we needed more of this or that. More free pita? Keep 'em coming :) Not in this area too often, but this place is on top of my list of "to-returns."Listed in: Easy go-to's

What Greek food shouldn't be.
I'm not sure what these people are smoking here but this isn't the greatest place. I live in LA, and Papa Cirstos on Pico and Normandie is the real greek food with an authentic taste to it. This place needs to learn a thing a two from them.
The pita bread was okay but the quality of the meat was at best mediocre. Common man, if I'm paying $10 for a meal, I better get some quality food, but they are not great. Their sauce, well I could say I got sick twice from it along with my co-workers that just had the runs the whole day and a real bad stomach ache. I thought one episode would be a wash but on two occasions? I don't know man. -

I am not very versed on Greek food. If I like it, it's good...it's that simple. I am, however, extremely versed on customer service in a restaurant.
I came here with a colleague for lunch. We each ordered the classic gyro with beef and lamb and I added a side of tatziki with mine. We ordered our food to eat there but as we waited noticed that all the tables were occupied.
When our food was ready, we asked for our food to be packaged to go and the guy behind the counter made a rude stink about how he was going to have to re-arrange the restaurant to execute this request. So there went that star in a blink.
He did tell us that there was outside seating which one cannot see from inside the place. So we ate there. It's a community area for all the other restaurants (Panda Express, Z Pizza, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf).
I was pretty happy with the overall flavor of my food, however, I found the slices of meat in the gyro on the dry side. Drowning my gyro in tatziki remedied that.
I found the overall experience about equivalent to Daphne's including prices but the dry meat business and the to-go debacle is enough for me to decide not to come here in the future.
But I don't know....dangle some stuffed grape leaves in my face and I might reconsider. -

This place is great. The classic gyro is very good. Add a side of fries for a $1 more and they give you a decent amount. The gyro is much bigger than the one you get a Daphne's. Highly recommend and I will definitely be coming back.

I am truly torn on this one.... It had the potential to be one of the best greek chicken salads ever. Nice little place I decided to go on my lunch break, really well seasoned chicken *actually blackened* and tasty homemade dressing.
However..... I became violently sick about an hour after eating there and had to leave work early :( I was sick for hours and was convinced it was the salad considering it was the only thing I had so far. Its too bad I haven't been back since and I am really getting tired of zpizza next door but I don't plan on going home sick again... Sorry Pita Fresh Grill, not so fresh that day :( -
Review from Hazel Q.
Like Daphne's... but better. Sure, they're no George's (in the LBC), but they do make a mean kebab here. Lunch specials are great, and the chicken lemon soup more than hit the spot on a cold day a few weeks back.
Service is seriously awesome and the menu is priced just right for a Greek fast food joint. It's A-OK by me.Listed in: Eating Healthier in Orange…, Kebabs in Orange County

great place with a tasty falafel
we got the plate with falafels. came with three dips. the red feta dip was great and the hummus was really garlicky
wasn't too busy at 1130 in the morning
they were really friendly and helpful with suggesting what we should order
the pitas came out fresh and sprinkled with some great spices
the dolmas were good too...and i don't really even like dolma
its hard to find a good falafel in this area. especially because some places (green rice kabob) refuse to make falafel sandwiches on the weekends...doesn't make much sense
check this place out. its tasty -

I came here for the first time and wondered why I hadn't tried it sooner! I've been to the mad Greek and Daphnes and nothing compares to Pita Fresh. Everytime I order a classic gyro the pita is always fresh and has a light smoky flavor. Their gyro meat is made with part lamb and part beef but tastes so unique! The employees there treat u like family and have recommended great menu items. I sometimes drive from la mirada just to get some lunch! I've also brought my friends and family here which they LOVE as well! I will be forever a returning customer.

One fateful lunch break, my stomach was growling for a gyro. Since no trustworthy food critics were still at the office, I decided to Yelp. An average of 4 stars---just my luck! I got to the place right around the lunch rush. Though I haven't earned my time punching the clock in a restaurant, I can tell the kitchen staff was very under-experienced and incompetent. The manager/cashier had to abandon his post multiple times to inspect timeliness and accuracy of his staff's duties. Not only did I stand there waiting for my order for 30 minutes, I witnessed the staff completely messing up orders, stressing out, and throwing fits like over caffeinated children in a welfare line. My food came out OK. Standard order-at-the-counter Greek food. Worth the 30 minutes? No effing way. Never again.
