Review from Dina B.
Fresno, CA
I went here last week while showing my family from Nebraska the Pismo Beach.
What I liked:
It's right off the pier.
Various flavors (6-8)
A gazillion toppings!
You get to serve everything up yourself, how you want, and as much as you want.
I got vanilla, chocolate, and I think cookies and cream yogurt. For toppings I went for almonds, crushed Oreos, crushed Reese's Peanut Butter cups, and hot fudge (they have so many other toppings though, including fruit). I spent about $11 and split it with 3 other people. The different colored spoons were fun. I think it will be a regular stop for me when I go to Pismo. -

Cute little yogurt place in the heart of Pismo Beach! Best part is that they had tart yogurt, very Pinkberry-esque! There were a lot of great flavors and a bunch of topping options (healthy and unhealthy)! If you want a great idea for a date night, or fun with family and friends, I recommend going to Splash Cafe for dinner, then walking to Pismo yogurt for dessert! Perfect combo!

Mmmmmmm!!! The yogurt ice cream was sooooo yummy!! It's create your own... Pick you flavor of yogurt ice cream and toppings, which they had Many to choose from =)
My bf and I, selected the coconut pineapple yogurt flavor and for toppings we added sour patch kids, reeses pieces, peanut butter brittle, granola, coconut shavings, sprinkles, fresh strawberries and mangos!!! Once we took a bite of our creation, it was like heaven!! Just typing this review, reliving the tasteful memory, has me craving for more!!
I cant wait til next time, I hope won't be too long! -

Pismo Beach, CA
Yes Please!.... Several different kinds of frozen yogurt, a bazillion different toppings, friendly staff, clean and in a good location.
No thanks!.... Ok.. here's the deal. Maybe I'm alone in this.... if you want to attract the widest customer base possible, you might want to tone down the rap music. Rap, not unlike Country, Metal and Latino music, has both it's fans and detractors. I love the Old School stuff; it's just I don't want Jay-Z yelling at me while I'm trying to enjoy my yogurt.
Rap is great for clubs; Country is fine at a BBQ place... Latino music at a Mexican restaurant... you get the idea.
Again.... just an opinion. -

In comparison to some of the yogurt shops I frequent, this one was just okay.
The cons:
- It was more pricey yogurt.
- There were only 6-8 flavors (not a lot of variety).
- The yogurt was exceptionally sweet.
The pros:
- They had a significant topping selection.
- It was not that far from the Pier (hot day, cold yogurt!).
Overall, it's nothing to go crazy about and to make a point to visit. It's there and it'll do if you just want a nice cool treat. -

I always go to PIsmo Yogurt whenever I visit PB.
The froyo is pretty good with a good amount of toppings to choose form. My favorite is cheesecake froyo with strawberries, chocolate chips and cheesecake bites.
It's the only froyo place in the area, so you don't really have much of a choice anyway if that's what you're craving. -

Interesting flavors (Graham pie!) and plentiful toppings at the low price of 43 cents an ounce makes for a great yogurt experience. Awesome location near the pier and friendly staff!

Yogurt by the pound!
My family & I were at Pismo for Christmas. My daughter wanted to stop in for some yogurt. I decided to get some too. It was yummy! You fill your cup with yogurt and add any of the toppings you'd like. Take it to the register, it is weighed and off you go.. after paying of course!
Simple! -

I have to hit P-Yo at least once a week.
Walk inside, and it looks (slightly) like you stepped into some sort of anime world. Super cute, bright decor. I want green mini-tiles in my house.
I LOVE the strawberry cheesecake swirl yogurt. It's so, so good. They also have about 8 other flavors.
They've got every topping you can think of, and not just your standard M and Ms and Oreos (what I get every time :). They have many different fruits, cheesecake bites, cereals, mini dark chocolate raspberry cups, coated sunflower seeds, etc., etc.
Grab a cup, fill it up, add your toppings, and get weighed. I get yogurt for two (hubs and I share) and have never spent more than $4. Great deal. And I love the brightly colored spoons. (It doesn't take much. I'm easily entertained).
I didn't give it 5 stars because we brought an out-of-town guest here (it's too good), and the second it hit 9 pm (he had already walked in and grabbed a cup), the girl working there said, "We are closed. We turned off the machines."
Whoa, there. Chill.
But anyway, I'll be back again this week. -

Fro-yo girl here. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here but it's right downtown, right by the beach (so parking is hard to find, it's $1 an hour). I didn't even know that Pismo Beach had a downtown till I went on my fro-yo hunt.
Pismo Yogurt looks like a pretty standard fro-yo shop with 8 flavors, self-serve, 43 cents an ounce and over 40 toppings. While there wasn't much fresh fruit (raspberries, strawberries, mango, kiwi, pineapple), it looked okay. Toppings include syrups, sprinkles, candy, nuts, cereal, cookies and some cute toppings like dinosaur sprinkles. The theme colors =are white, green and fuchsia. They have two cup sizes and cute colorful spoons.
By the machine they had good advice: (1) choose 2 - 3 fro-yo flavors that go well together and (2) pick 2 or 3 toppings that complement the fro-yo.
Flavors of the day:
* Vanilla
* Chocolate
* Mango
* Cheesecake
* Cookies n' cream
* Strawberry
* Pomegranate tart: Pleasant, icy, soft and fruity, but didn't have much pomegranate flavor, bright
* Plain tart: Icy, soft, refreshing, a bit sour, a bit sweet and slightly citrusy, decent, slightly clumpy
The fro-yo melted quickly. The table was a little sticky and the music was really loud. I tried to go on a Saturday and there was no parking. I suggest coming on a weekday.
You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.Listed in: Fro-Yo Girl Speaks, Central Coast Pit Stop

The BEST self serve fro-yo in the SLO/Pismo area by far!!! Upon walking into this fro-yo shop, it felt like I just stepped into a Limited Too or girly shop with all the hot pink/purple/bright yellow decor. It doesn't really look like it belongs in this area, but it's cute. Love the furniture. They have cute bar stools that I've seen at other fro-yo shops in the bay, a white lounge chair, and comfy yellow chairs.
8 Flavors: Vanilla, Chocolate, one more flavor, plus....
- Cheesecake: Creamy, smooth, and delicious. Typically I never choose this flavor and usually opt for tart flavors. But this one is not overly sweet and surprisingly tasted refreshing for once. *Favorite*
- Cookies N Cream: Smooth, creamy, and it tasted just like cookies n cream. Good.
- Strawberry Banana: Tasted artificial.
- Plain Tart: Not icy, the consistency is creamy, and not overly tart or sweet. Way better than Yogurt Creations.
- Pomegranate Tart: Bright pale pink, tart, but not puckering tart. I liked it.
50+ toppings including fresh fruit and a waffle cone option too. I chose strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and mochi (soft and fresh) to accompany my fro-yo. They also have caramel, marshmallow cream, and several other syrups to add to your fro-yo. This is my new favorite fro-yo place when visiting San Luis Obispo. I will drive all the way here to satisfy my clam chowder and fro-yo fix.
P.S. I always find myself wanting something refreshing after a hearty meal near this beach. Fro-yo is the perfect finishing touch to a greasy clam chowder and buttered/toasted bread bowl meal. What makes it even greater, it's just a few stores down from Splash! =)Listed in: Fro-yo for froyoholics

Nothing amazing but if you are craving froyo this is just okay...
A notch below Pinkberry, and I'm not even a fan of Pinkberry.
Person who worked there was nice though! -
Review from Taffany H.

Not a bad place for froyo if you're craving for a pinkberry and all you have is the beach and sand and Pismo Yogurt. The original is quite good for a local place--not pinkberry good but this will do the job. Standard toppings you'd want with the cheesecake and the mochi and the nutties. I'd come here, grab the stuff and go down to the beach to make a good snack time stroll.

Ever since eating at Spoon Me! while visiting Logan, Utah, I've been craving plain tart frozen yogurt. And finally I walk into Pismo Yogurt today and find it. And it was as good as, if not better than, Spoon Me. And you pay for what you put in the cup, per ounce. It's a real pain to go to places that want to stuff you full of yogurt or ice cream so they can rape you on prices. Yogurt Creations also does this, but I haven't seen plain tart yogurt at Creations yet.

I love froyo places like this! Create your own; as many flavors and toppings as you want. Lots of toppings: candy, cookies, brownies, fresh fruit, syrups. They expanded between my 2nd and 3rd visits and have far more toppings than any other froyo place I've been to. Great for a walk down Pomeroy and onto the beach!

This is a must every time we come to Pismo. My hub esp. Likes the chunks of cheesecake he can lob onto his yogurt. I am a fan of the plain tart.

This place is yes like Pinkberry and many other frozen yogurt places. I love the Plain Tart flavory here. Super yummy. They have many choices of flavors to chose from and toppings. I love their variety of fresh fruit topppings. Drawback is it's $.43 cents/ounce compare to other places which cost only $0.30/ounce. Decor is chic and the environment feels clean.

Review from Alana H.
Decided to treat myself after a very successful surfing outing, and some fish tacos from El Mirador next door. I got the low fat cheesecake yogurt and pieces of butterfinger, Heath bar, peanut brittle. You pay 42 cents an ounce for yogurt and there are several flavor options. The yogurt was so tasty and the toppings I picked put it over the top. The place is pretty spacious with lots of seating. Go surfing and work off some calories and treat yourself to some froyo!

The teenage girls working here were much less than helpful. However, the frozen yogurt was good enough to redeem them. Check this place out when you are in town.

Pretty standard. Price based on weight. Keep in mind cause it gets pricey. Don't be overwhelmed by the huge bowls.

Arroyo Grande, CA
This place is a total tourist trap, and doesn't even compare to the yogurt shop on grand.
Walking in, the decor is cute. But that seems to be the only great thing about this place. It's cheerfully painted. They have a good amount of seating and everything is pretty clean.
The layout though, is weird and doesn't flow well at all.
The bathroom requires a key, which is pretty strange since last time I checked, this wasn't a gas station.
The girls "working" were completely unenthusiastic, totally unhelpful, and boring. Not a single person was greeted by them when they walked in. the girl who rang me up barely looked at me.
They need to find some better people to hire to work here if they want to stay in business. No one smiled, no one offered people samples, or even acknowledged our existence. If you want really sucky service by really bored teenagers who need to snap out of it, this your shop.
The music was blaring so loud you could barely speak to anyone, because it was hard to hear over the rap music. It was more like a club, and the music seemed ridiculous since 1)this is not Santa Maria, 2)it's a pink and green YOGURT SHOP and 3)it's not The Grad.
The topping "selection" here is pretty subpar. They have mostly fruits, some gummie stuff, sprinkles, and a few candies. Nothing like the one on grand that literally has about twice as many toppings and costs 10 cents cheaper per oz.
Honestly this place is okay if you're a bored teenager hanging out with friends in Pismo, a tourist who doesn't know to go to the one on grande, or you just really like getting crappy service and less selection for more money!
My frozen yogurt was alright. It wasn't bad but it was nothing special that I can't get elsewhere in town for cheaper.
The tart tasted like cream cheese, and the strawberry was good. Their machines seemed to be ill attended since several had lights flashing and the yogurt barely came out of the tart one. IIt was hanging in mid air off the machine because it was too thick. It pretty much tastes exactly like Yogurt Creations, so why would I go here?
Save your money and go to Yogurt Creations. At least they know what they're doing and actually hire people who act like they care! -

If you know what pinkberry is then you will love this place.
Get the plain tart flavor. gotta have the mochi, captain crunch, and any of the friuts. fruity pebbles is also good.
Great place. -

Nasty stuff.
Price based on weight.
Everything tasted like saccharine.
The place was a mess. I should have known better.
The toppings were fresh, but if the frozen yogurt is no good...
I guess if you've been raised on fruit roll-ups and Hi-C this stuff would taste delicous. -
Review from Jason I.
Grover Beach, CA
Personally, I'm not a huge fan of frozen yogurt, I just seem to always go becausee my wife loves it.
The yogurt here is probably my favorite of all of the local places. For whatever reason it seems to sit with me a lot better than other places. I don't get to crazy with toppings, but they seem to have a great selection. The fresh fruit is nice too, this is the only place I've ever been that offers this.
My only complaints are that the people working there seem like they could care less that your spending money with them. An there always seems to be way more people working than is really necessary. An the pricing per ounce is higher than most of the other local places, but I can understand that because of the location. An last but not least, during the winter, we couldn't figure out when they were open or closed. It was pretty hit or miss. -
Review from amelia s.
Yummy yogurt and good toppings, but pricey. I guess there's not much yogurt competition in Pismo, so they can afford to charge to charge more, especially to tourists.
