Review from Anna L.
I actually thought this show was more enjoyable than the Medieval times equivalent... Yes, the establishment is more chaotic and less elaborate, but their show was quite funny and entertaining for me and the kids.
Their food was just average, but I actually really liked their ranch dressing on the salad! ahah... I know, weird thing to point out, but I am particular with my salad dressings. Our server was awesome, and that made up for the fact that they really crammed the seats together.
Oh and their souvenirs are actually reasonably priced because I decided to go to a Halloween store before the show to save some money and let my niece, nephew and my boyfriend's daughter buy some stuff for a pirate themed night. The prices were not much more expensive than the store, so I guess I could have let the kids just buy it there. OH well, maybe next time.... -

Trust me on this - GET THERE AS EARLY AS YOU CAN! The show may start at a certain time, but if you get there at that time you will get nosebleed seats. If you get there early there is a pre-show and appertizers and time to buy some drinks and stuff before being seated.
I could give this place a 3+. It wasn't bad, but let's say this, I've been to Medieval Times 5 times in 3 years... I don't see myself going back to Pirate's Dinner Adventure again too soon, but I'm already planning another Medieval Times trip.
This was my first time there on my birthday back in October 2011. There was a Halloween/Vampire-themed show, so I was looking forward to it. We purchased tickets in advance and printed them out. When we got there, we still had to wait in line, so that wasn't fun because at Medieval Times you skip a portion of the line and go up to where you get your crowns when you pre-pay.
I reviewed the website thoroughly and the meal choices were chicken or pork, with an upgrade option to steak and shrimp. **It's a lie!** I paid the extra $$ while I was in line - it was my birthday you know? And boy was I pissed to be told by the server that they don't do seafood anymore. I could get steak and pork or steak and chicken - not even steak and steak!! And I repeat, the server said "anymore", not just tonight or a seasonal thing.
COPIED FROM THE WEBSITE TODAY 1/22/12 AND PRESENT BACK IN OCTOBER 2011 Meal Upgrades At Pirate's Dinner Adventure we offer meal upgrades and special occasion upgrades just to make your evening that little bit more special! Captain Cut Filet & Seafood Upgrade A tender filet served with a generous portion of garlic shrimp with scallops $9.95 per person
FIX THE WEBSITE!!!
Before I continue, let me say that Casey was a great server and very nice considering she had the back row to serve and she had to deal with a lot of traffic.
Anyway, my vegetarian friend was given vegetable lasagna and... wait for it... mashed potatoes - yuk!!!! Medieval Times has a grilled portobello mushroom and vegetable skewer plate. I know I keep mentioning Medieval Times, it's just better :/
The steak and chicken I got (instead of steak and seafood) was actually pretty decent, but child-sized portions. I'm not sure how a 1/2 chicken could be small, but it was. I was so hungry I actually asked our server for another salad. Maybe because they serve appetizers (that we missed), we were hungrier than others, or maybe they serve small portions to cut down on waste since people have already been munching prior to the show.
Seating, well we were late so we were on the back row. The seats are actual, movable chairs instead of stadium-seating like at the place across the street, however, because of that, people spread out, and what holds 20 empty seats can really only hold 15 humans - so we were kind of crammed in, but we put purses and gifts in the empty section next to us.
The show it was pretty cool, definitely interactive and kids have to love it. I think the actors are on the same level or more than the folks at the place across the street with horses because there's a lot of physical activity - rope climbing, fighting, cool trampoline stuff, etc.
The Cirque de Solei thing really ROCKED, but I'm like... is this for kids because it was really... "Cirque" or suggestive. Maybe I just have a dirty mind LOL. There were 2 segments during the show and they were truly awesome. I'll post video of it if I can.
BTW, from where we sat, we still had a great view of the ship/stage, and a good view of the pirates even when they were high up in the rigging.
The bad thing was the sound, either the sound system was just too low for the environment, or the actors were just trying too hard with the accents and pirate jargon.
The bar was great, I drank a lot. The bartender someone mentioned in a previous post still works there but isn't sure why he was mentioned because he treats everyone the same and he does make a great Kamikaze! It's the usual foot tall margarita or light-up cup kind of bar.
One thing we didn't like was that after the show, the bar closed so early so we had to finish our drinks in the parking lot (LOL we almost went over to Medieval Times). We weren't closing out the place like at 2am, it was like 10:30pm or so. There was time for a few photo ops with the actors, and there was music, but we weren't told about last call, even when we bought our last drinks. I think they even had "Happy Hour" pricing, so why push drinks if the guests can't hang out?
Ok, as I write this, I am giving the place a 4. The one thing I realized is that at Medieval Times, you are assigned a knight and you cheer for him. That's it. Screw the storyline, you just want him to WIN!! The Pirates show needs a bit of your attention because the story is important. Given the physical aspect of the show, the singing and the Cirque thing, yeah, it's a 4 for the cast and crew - NOT the food.
Still pissed about the food... will post pics soo -

Took my team here for our year end celebration and we had a great time. There was lots of excitement in the air as there were quite a few groups there also celebrating. There were servers offering up lots of appetizers to snack on. Staff was very friendly.
This is the 2nd time I have seen the show and this Christmas show was different than the first, although it followed a similar story line.
Very interactive performance. Lots of people from the audience pulled in to participate.
The food is flavorful and plentiful. Our choice was chicken or turkey. I had the chicken my first go around and it was considerably less dry than this performance, however, there were more people at this show. I can appreciate how hard it would be to cook so many meals and serve at once.
Definitely recommended for a fun dinner and show.
Performers were fun and animated. Definitely lots of acrobatics. A fine group of talented people. -

Thank you to all the fellow yelpers because all of your suggestions made my night better!
I've been on the mailing list and have been receiving great deals on ticket prices, just never got the chance to go until recently. I arrived early and enjoyed all the appetizers. I liked the mini corn dogs and the cream corn popper things, not even sure exactly what those were but they were delicious! I wasn't a fan of anything that came with the bread -- I think meatballs, mini sausage and turkey? It was dry, had weird texture, bland in my opinion. I'm lactose intolerant, so I definitely was not a fan of the cream cheese jalapeno poppers. Definitely stand near the bathroom and entrance to the show for fresh/hot appetizers.
Some people dressed up, most people didn't. It was a weekend and busy, packed with families mostly. The drink prices are steep, but definitely strong. Seating wise, I think it would suck to be in the blue/green section -- at least the night I went. I'm not sure if they change that every show or not.
They seat you by section so wait for your color. Our server was fast and nice, which made it a fantastic night. The soup was watery and super salty, lacked ingredients really. The salad was typical. My friend got the vegetarian plate so I picked at it a little bit. The vegetable lasagna was SOOOOO cheesy -- in a bad way. The broccoli was cooked right, and the mashed potatoes lacked flavor. I got the chicken plate. The chicken was cooked perfectly, slipped right off the bone and it was a huge portion. It came with broccoli, cooked right, and rice which I loved! I picked off my other friend's plate because she got the pork, and it was dry in my opinion. The dessert was good, good texture and mix of flavors. I love ice cream too =)
The show -- I wasn't impressed. Thank god I was drunk because I definitely think that helped make it seem exciting. Their microphones kept cutting in and out so it was hard to hear thus hard to follow the "plot" or story. Some cool spins and tricks.
At the end of the night, I was definitely tummy stuffed, but I don't think I would come back EVER sober or even with the discounted ticket prices. -

It's better than Medieval Times. PROS: You don't have to eat with your hands, there is more audience participation, parking was easy, they have some acts that adults can appreciate, and the food is pretty decent. We got the $27 per ticket special and I think that it was worth it :) The server was awesome, and we all had a good time. The CONS: entry and waiting area was too full and pandemonium, the pork was very thinly sliced and dry, the alcoholic drinks are too expensive (like $25 a drink and $8 a bottle of beer), and our seats were too far to the side (blue table 5). ****I'd advise orange section.

This was definately out of the ordinary for me... a dinner show(it was kind of entertaining)... I do have to say that the drinks were a bit weak(so you have to drink a lot!!!!!!!!!)..... but all in all a good time and the food is ok.... I missed most of it on the account of me achieving my goal of getting wasted

Fun time. Great for kids, and fun for adults too. They have a lot of cool themed drinks at the bar. Get there early to enjoy the appetizers they serve and watch the pre-show show... I like the show better than the place next door.. however they are both great. The food is ok, but not great, but you're paying really for the show. It's fun and comical..

Went here for my boyfriends birthday (19th), but we had a great time. Once you get in you have time to walk around and look at the gift shops, they also have servers bringing snacks around for everyone. They have a pre-show before they seat you in the theater, once you are in the theater they give you a menu, and the portions are HUGE! It's awesome. They give you a half of a chicken with sides. They also pull members from the audience onto stage, this would be great for families with small kids (age 4-10).

Great place to take the kids ages 3 and up, especially for a birthday or special event. The food is much better than Medieval Times and the performance is much better than what other reviewers wrote about it. We upgraded our seats for $10 each so we can sit in the first three rows, but it seemed like every seat had a decent view of the stage, with the exception of the blue and green section. The pre-show was decent and more organized than the last time we were there. Tip 1: If you want appetizers made fresh out of the kitchen I suggest hanging out between the bathrooms and front of the theatre entrance. There are also 2 chef stations that you will be in line for the entire time. Tip 2: If you want to watch the pre-show entertainment get there early to find a seat around the stage but they have plasma screens everywhere so we didn't have to stand or sit by the stage. Tip 3: If you don't want to feel like a herd going into the theatre than stand next to the front of the theatre until your color is called, otherwise you'll be pushing through the crowd. Tip 4: After the show (at least at the last show) stick around and the actors will come out and take pics with you. Hope you have as much fun as we did, arghhhh!

My husband, 8yr old step-daughter, 9yr old step-son and myself really enjoyed the show, food is okay, the drinks at the bar are pretty good! The price is just right just because I know someone that works there and gives me employee discounts, wouldn't pay full price for this show! The only problem I have is that my 4yr old son X, didn't like it, he said it was toooooo loud for him!! waaa!

VAMP-PIRATES!
Vampire Pirates for a halloween themed pirate adventure. I think the only difference between the regular show and this one was they added fangs.
I felt ripped off at every turn. I bought tickets on Goldstar so at least I didnt pay full price for them. The night started at the bar with expensive watered down drinks. Then the appetizer buffet is pretty much servers holding trays and walking around, you literally had to fight to get a mini hot dog or jalapeno popper...and everything was deep fried! Gave me a bad greasy unhealthy gross feeling after the first few bites. The show was awful. The rest of the food was awful. The ice cream was gross! I mean how do you mess up a scoop of ice cream!
I didnt think that Medieval Times could be underdone but this place sure did it!Listed in: Entertain ME!

I should start by stating that this rating is for over a year ago, but it's such an awesome touristy idea for an attraction that I wanted to make sure I got my warning out - it's possible they have made changes and I'm sure the cast has been altered since.
That being said, other than screaming obscene things at the cast, this is the worst possible way to spend your money as there is nothing fun about it. I get that it's supposed to be camp and not Broadway, I get that it's for kids, I'm not unfairly rating this, I really enjoy Medieval Times, but this? Ugh. The story was so convoluted and purposeless I literally felt like I had a fever trying to follow it.
At some point there was a cirque du solis reject ribbon dancing act, which I think is the part in the story where pirates need to grab a smoke so they brought a random "gypsy" to entertain us. In her defence, she was one of the only two people in the entire building with any talent (the other being the female pirate lead woman who's reason for beng there eludes me, but she had a good voice, props to that - though she's likely gone now, too much talent). The horrifically unattractive "princess" who kept singing for no reason and opening doors would have been awesome, were she shark fodder, but alas.
If you're going to go to this, if you really feel you must, I suggest you keep your mind open and your eyes upon the stage. Do NOT look at your food or you risk going hungry, and PLEASE, suck down the beer they give you the MOMENT they give it because they'll only come back one more time to fill it up (about 15 minutes after the first pour) and if you haven't finished yet, you're out of luck.
All that being said, I had fun. It was SO bad I just stopped trying and instead heckled... a LOT. This is a show about pirates, and yet even Disney would think it mild so I shouted, "Death to the princess," "Kill her!", "The British aren't the heroes!" "Pirate's don't compromise!" "What pirate get's married?!" "Where's the raping and pillaging?!" stuff like that. Go crazy. Shout THROUGH the talking and singing, there's honestly no story, you aren't missing anything or causing anyone else to either. YOU are your own entertainment. Once I started, the entire audience joined in - even the 4-yr old boy and his dad next to me, people came up and thanked me after, that should tell you everything. -

So as a joke and a birthday present to my beloved me and my BFF took him here. Our expectations were to have some laughs, engaging in some drinks, and watch a show. All of the above happened.
This won't be my most thorough review since I got smashed prior to being seated. So this is what I could remember. Walking in you are ushered to take a picture with a so called pirate and then released to the gift shop and bar area.
While sitting in the waiting area pirates are handing out appetizers all of which were kinda gross, hence this is pre-drunkeness. They had fried shrimp (no flavor), ham sandwiches (most I say more), chicken tenders (more like chicken strings), what looked like Vienna sausage on bread with a splash of cheap bbq sauce, and the list goes on.
We headed straight to the bar area which I highly suggest for any adults going to this venue. I got the captain's margarita . . . why you ask because it has Patron. My favorite!!!!
***Please keep in mind that I am not an alcoholic and rarely drink. Prior to this evening I have NEVER gotten drunk. I usually play the responsible person not sure what happened to me on this night. And do not endorse drinking and/or alcoholism***
Back to the review. So my captain's margarita was poured into a souvenir boot which equates to about 4 to 5 single drinks. From what I was told I had about 2 of these prior to being seated. I also took pics of the performance apparently they have an acrobatic routine.
That's about all I got for you . . . All in all I had a decent time LOL ;p -
Review from Lica N.
We came here to celebrate my BFF's son's birthday. They were here visiting from Portland and this was something different to do from going to the amusement parks.
They had a august special of $37 per person for adult/children. Got a cake for $20 so our dinner show was only $206 which wasnt bad for a party of 5.
I've been here before a few years ago bringing my niece for her birthday. I cant remember if the show was different but I certainly sat in a different section. They group you in several different colored section and are to cheer on the pirate in the colored section you are sitting in. We had the blue pirate.
The food was not too bad. Got the soup versus the salad. It was a vegetable soup with small minced pieces of broccolli. The birthday boy loved it and wanted more. The roasted chicken was nice and moist and had a good flavor as did the rice pilaf. Dessert was apple pie ala mode.
The show was good. It definitely is not a vegas style quality show but good enough for what the theme of the theater is for. I think adults would enjoy it more if they were here with their children or bringing your nieces/nephews. I think the highlight is watching how much fun they are having and enjoying the show. The highlight for the kids are being asked to participate and go up on the ship to be sworn in as pirates.
Oh the cake was super super sweet. We ate them back at the hotel and the kids went bonkers!!! http://www.yelp.com/bi...

Been there, done that. I won't be going back.
I expected to see a pirate show and instead it was a Vampirate Show. It was ridiculous, cheesy, and dumb. The food was bad, the dessert even worse. The bartender was friendly enough, however there was hardly any alcohol in the drink I ordered. The free appetizers were a joke. Passing around a tiny frozen meatball smothered in sweet BBQ sauce on a huge slice of white bread does not count as an appetizer worth passing around. They tried to do the same as Medievil Times where they seperate you into different colors however, there isn't any reason to yell for your pirate since they don't do any fighting... or winning. Just bad wrestling moves that are suitable and probably most enjoyed by a 6 year old boy.
To top the night off, something VERY sticky was poured all over my sleeve and purse that can't be cleaned. -

Recently came here for a work outing and had a great time!!!
I'll be honest... I don't remember much of the show or anything after entering the door to the stage, but I do remember the "pre-show.".
They have servers walking around with hors d'oeuvres and you are free to eat as much as you want! If you hit up the bar, make sure to hit up LUIS FLOWERS! This man will take care of you! Because of his exceptional service, my coworkers and I will definitely be coming back!
P.S. I lied... I do remember something from the show! They have a "Cirque du Soleil" moment in the show- not as good, but still very impressive! -

AARGH! We's had a jolly, belly aching good time! (that's my best pirate impression). :)
We had a great time at Pirates Adventure Dinner Theater. There's lots of reviews, so I'll sum up the experience.
PROS:
* Good wholesome show
* Great songs that will have you singing along with the pirates
* Audience interaction great with pirates bring kids into the show
* Food is good, not great, but is included in price of ticket
* Pirates all look to be enjoying their roles
* Acrobatics and stunts were amazing (not jaw dropping) but it takes skill to jump that high in the air, spin/twist, and land on your feet...all while singing.
CONS
* They nickle and dime you on the extra food, drinks and souvenirs
* The show is geared towards kids mainly
* Competition between colors were silly at times, but it did get people cheering
All in all good time. It's a do at least once. I preferred Medieval Times Dinner Theater a little more, but we got half-off tickets at Goldstar (https://www.goldstar.c...) which made the event worth the $20 of entertainment and food.
Go only if you get discounted tickets. -

This is an old review but now that I know people are actually considering going here I felt like I should put out the warning. Save your money. Go to the movies or the other dinner theater. This place sucks. Food was not great, appetizers sucked and they don't have enough. If you show up early it doesn't guarantee you a good seat, drinks are expensive...I highly recommend drinking copious amounts of alcohol if you MUST go. We had high hopes but this just wasn't fun especially when paying for it. This is totally a tourist trap, they get the people looking for something fun to do while on vacation. Just skip it!!

My family took me here on Father's Day 2011! All I can say is I had a BLAST!
I read reviews on Yelp and the ratings and reviews are 50/50. We took a chance and went anyway. I will go on and write to inform you "Pirates Dinner Adventure Theater" is NOT....I repeat-IS NOT-a place for those persons who have super high expectations in life and end up getting disappointed repeatedly their whole lifetime.
Before you criticize me for my review, I want to remind you this place is geared towards the younger generation and open-minded participating adults! If you don't engage the actors or "go with it" you will be completely disappointed and you will end up writing a sh-t review about other things...
When you come in, you will take pictures with a "pirate" (a high school or college student). Depending on your comfort level of sharing hats (lice) and such, they are readily available for you in a treasure chest. I decided to take a risk and wear a pirate hat! If you must know, I also used a prop sword! The picture turned out fine and we bought the picture at the end of the whole thing.
They have a pre-show before the actual seating of the main show. You'll be happy to know there is a bar there and seating for those who cannot stand for short periods of time. I will forewarn you on the price of drinks. They are expensive but are served in souvenir glass cups you can take home! Side note-another reviewer was complaining about taking a shot of tequila in a plastic cup. Seriously? This is a pirate show! This isn't some uppity snobbish gaslamp bar. It's a FRICKEN kids show! Sheesh! If you want to get smashed, I suggest you park it at a pub or something....
Okay, I digress. Where was I?
Oh yeah, the pre-show. The pre-show was pretty fun. FYI there are servers walking around with mini appetizers. Again, I will remind you there is NO caviar here. Haha I kill myself! I suggest you take advantage of the appetizers and snack!
Eventually, groups are divided into colored teams (already pre-determined when you get your tickets). You are then escorted into the arena. I'm not going into details about what you'll see inside. Simply put....it's a FRICKEN pirate ship right smack dab in the middle of the arena! BAM! BTW, they are pirate actors and NO they aren't real ones there....
You will get your main course here. Overall, I was satisfied with the food. I had steak, chicken, broccoli and potatoes. I couldn't finish it so I asked for a "to-go" container. Our server was nice and she was very "chill". I will warn you...don't ever treat your server like crap, no matter if you hate ANY place or not (free info here).
This review is taking way too long to finish so here are my main points:
1. Participate and engage actors/actresses
2. Eat appetizers at pre-show
3. Buy an alcoholic beverage and don't complain about the price
4. HAVE FUN!!!
....and that my dear friends, concludes my review of the Pirate's Dinner Adventure Theater! -

I knew I was taking a risk, but at a friends request to accompany her with visiting family I agreed.
Regarding the dinner: salad drowned in ranch (i think), pork or chicken with a ridiculously large tree of broccoli, followed by a dollop (meaning very small spoonful) of apple pie and vanilla ice cream.
Regarding the show: overacted and a bit ridiculous - like the broccoli. However, this is definitely a place for the kids. Very interactive and exciting for them. I do not recommend for a date or an event without children. -

Check list before going:
Like Pirates - "Aye"
Like Musicals - "Aye"
Like Food - "Aye"
The verdict:
Like The Pirate's Adventure Theater - "Nay"
Now, in all fairness I went for a special Holiday musical version of the show, so I don't know what the standard show is like. The food was as uninspired as the show.
Save your money and go see the free Pirate Show (also a musical) outside Treasure Island (TI) in Las Vegas.
******* INTERESTING********
About an hour after I posted this, I received a note from the manager of Pirates Dinner Adventure telling me that the Holiday Musical Show is no longer running, and that they realized it was disappointing. He said the all new 2011 show is now more "Piraty." I appreciate his contact, and I will definitely give it another shot, when an occasion comes up, and review it again at that time. -
Review from Caren L.
Good fun! Got discounted tickets from http://Goldstar.com ($30 instead of $50) that included appetizers, a pre-show, 3 course dinner, and entertainment.
Appetizers: If you are not too concerned about your heart health, then by all means dig into the deep fried somethings that they serve -- battered corn, chicken nuggets, jalapeno poppers, shrimp pops. A bit better for you but not by much are the meatballs/bbq sauce or ham/cheese on (dry) bread. Needless to say, we tried them and decided to wait for dinner instead.
Pre-Show: This is really a way for them to get everyone organized and seated in an orderly manner. IMO, best colors to be in would be orange, purple, yellow, green and red. The poor folks in the blue section pretty much had the view of the backs of the actors. Anyway, good fun (although loud) and a great way to get the audience riled up and ready to go!
Show: Ampitheater style, and you pay a bit more for seats in the lower section. Again, IMO, you are better off being in the middle or upper rows since you have a level view of the stage. Audience participation is encouraged although you have to pay for this (birthday/anniversary fee) to be part in the show. My little one was hooting and clapping for our pirate so the show itself gets 5 stars!
Dinner: 3 course dinner that started with soup (minestrone type, tasty, 3 stars) or salad (mixed fresh, ranch dressing, 2 stars). Entree choices are half chicken with broccoli and rice pilaf or porkloin with bbq sauce, mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables (both 3 stars). Dessert was 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream with chocolate drizzle over a baked apple slice. Food was just ok but plentiful.
Will I be back? Probably not soon. But for the price and value we got (little one still playing with his pirate lightsaber and has happy memories of the pirate show), we are definitely glad to have tried this out. -

My boyfriend and I went to the VamPirate Dinner Adventure last night. I had bought discounted tickets on Goldstar, and it was the first time going to this theater for both of us. We were advised to get there 90 minutes early in time for pre-show appetizers and entertainment, and that costumes were encouraged. I wore my costume (Midnight Vamp) and my boyfriend wore his X-Men jacket. We saw some other people wearing costumes - mostly, it was children wearing costumes and a few adults here and there. We got there around 6:15, and the appetizers were a little disappointing. I only saw two types of appetizers, one was a thin slice of chicken on a small piece of bread, and the other one was a thin slice of lunch-type meat and a thin slice of cheese on a small piece of bread (I guess there were no mini hot dogs or jalapeno poppers like those mentioned in one of the previous reviews - or perhaps they already ran out of them by the time we arrived). We bought a couple of drinks at the bar, a beer for my boyfriend and a Cherry Coke for me. The drinks were a little expensive (the beer was $9 and the Coke was $4). The pre-show entertainment was ok - the best part was a lady walking upside down on a monkey-bar like apparatus on the ceiling, and different colored VamPirates were gathering up their crew and leading them into the theater. We were in the Yellow group with the Yellow VamPirate (I think his name was Antonio).
When we got inside, it got better. The theater is very nicely decorated for the show, and our seats were close with a very good view of the stage. The staff did a good job of bringing out the food and drinks. Alcoholic drinks were not included in the deal (bummer), but we got a big pitcher of Sprite. We each had a choice between vegetable soup or salad with ranch dressing. I picked the soup, and my boyfriend got the salad. I thought the soup tasted good, but the vegetables were teeny tiny pieces that it didn't even look like there were vegetables in there. My boyfriend thought his salad was good. Next came the dinner entree. We had a choice between the roasted half-chicken and the pork with BBQ sauce. We got one of each to share. The chicken was very tender and delicious and came with broccoli and Spanish rice. The pork was also very good and came with mashed potatoes. It was a very large portion of food, and we were already very full after eating the entrees, but then there was also coffee and dessert (ice cream with fruit)! Wow, it was sure a feast-type meal. I give a big thumbs-up for the food.
The show itself was ok. The cast tried very hard to keep the crowd engaged with different contests, acrobatics and musical numbers. However, I felt the show lacked a fluidity and cohesiveness. It seemed like a bunch of different acts thrown together, so I didn't quite feel like there was any kind of story weaving throughout the show (except for the recurring desire of a one pirate to become a VamPirate). My favorite part of the show was the two acrobats (one of them was the Green VamPirate, and the other was a Wench). They did a great job! The show could definitely be improved, though. It was a good new experience nonetheless, and I'm glad we went. VamPirate Dinner Adventure - check! :) -

Seriously, people, for the amount you pay, you get your money's worth. I would go again just to see the incredible aerial silk act. These performers have impressive athletic and performance skills...and they don't get paid what they are worth. Your money pays for about 10 talented performers as well as the many employees I saw working there. If you think $50 bucks is too much to pay, stay home and rent a movie....I, myself, enjoyed the hot pirates and the incredible athletic bodies of everyone in that cast!!! Aargh.....

Skip this at ALL cost!! Save your money and eat elsewhere!
Went today with Girl Scouts and all 700+ of us were served the kids menu. Yep, adults too! Chicken Nuggets, Mac & Cheese, a small corn on the cob and flat soda. For desert ... a chocolate chip cookie. Although the mac & cheese was tasty and the cookie was soft, the lunch as a whole was not filling! Even the kids were left hungry! No appetizers served at all!! $25 per person for a $3.00 plate, if that!!
I was seated in the green section and could not see much, other then the actors entering the ship prior to the show beginning.
The silver lining?
Acrobatics were good
Staff was nice
They brought some of our girls on stage to be a part of the show
I can now say that I have gone...... and NEVER have to go again! -

Went on Sunday 5-29-2011 Memorial Day Weekend. I won't cherry coat my experience.
Very disappointed. The only reason I'm giving this event 2 stars is because my date was able to get a buzz going off their over-priced cocktails and at least had a decent time.
Decided to take advantage of their 2 for 1 May price promo. I called 3 times prior to purchasing tickets on the Friday before. Spoke with 3 different female operators. Twice I was encouraged to upgrade to the VIP section which I unfortunately ended up doing supposedly securing lower, spacious seats and additional souvenirs (pirate wear) that we could keep or so I was told. $10 per person extra.
They made it sound like if we didn't upgrade we might miss out on something. I was told to arrive at 3:30PM, an hour and a half before the actual dinner show so we could enjoy a per-show and complimentary appetizers (jalapeno poppers, meat rolls, cheeses etc.. that vary daily).
Got to the place at 3:35PM only to see a huge line. I had been previously told that there were plenty of seats available leading me to believe that we wouldn't have to wait in any lines. And since we purchased VIP tickets I figured we could bypass the line and get right in. Not the case! I was told that everybody had to wait in line, in the sun and an hour long.
Well, when we got to the door after getting our seat assignments, 2 red pirate bandanas and a string of beads each, we decided to bypass the photo they encourage you take and sell you later and hit the bar.
For a medium souvenir glass (20oz) with cocktail the cost was $16 each. Believe it or not this was one of the high points. Our bartender poured heavy and the drink was the equivalent of a triple. We were told that refills of our glasses would be $8 each time.
Needless to say, when we finally got inside the PACKED waiting/bar area there wasn't an appetizer to be found. As a matter of fact I didn't see anybody eating anything, but rather crowding the bar trying to get drinks or browsing the gift shop strategically located to lure purchases by tourists and guests. And there were plenty of out of town tourists on hand.
They were already seating the different colored sections and before we could (well me) even finish the drinks we were being herded inside the venue and to our seats. Now the first 2 VIP rows seemed alright, but we were in the 3rd and seated behind one of the outer crows nest obscuring the view of the ship and show. The seats were so crowded and close that upon being seated I was already halfway over the place mat to my left.
The food service was slow considering everything was on carts in the aisles of each section and most rows. She got the salad, me the soup and we elected to get one entree each offered to share. Those being 1/2 baked chicken, carribean rice and broccoli and bbq pork tenderloin, mashed potatoes and broccoli (I can't eat broccoli due to meds and was assured there would be other options, there weren't). And by the time we were served, basically last in our row the show was well into it's first half hour.
I didn't expect gourmet food, but what I received was less than expected. In all fairness, the chicken, mashed potatoes and even the generic rice and broccoli were okay. The bbq pork tenderloin was a joke. Tough slices of pork with a drizzle of bbq sauce over it. The butter knife supplied made it difficult to cut and due to the fact that I had to move my chair back because the bench like table & bar type belly-up set up had people so crowded next to each other I ended up getting much of the food on my clothes or ground. Dessert was decent, but remember to keep the original spoon supplied as it didn't come with another.
The show itself was not of "Broadway quality" as suggested on their website. It was very hard to follow and kind of corny. If i hadn't read what it was about on the website prior I would have been totally lost. I will say that the acrobatic portion was impressive, but story line a mystery to many.
The place also got very warm inside as well and although wearing a tank top and shorts found myself sweating halfway through the show due to lack of air conditioning.
I felt somewhat cheated when it all ended and if my date hadn't enjoyed herself would have made a complaint then and there. I was misled. People who hadn't upgraded their seat had better views. I was never told that would have to wait in an hour long line on a first come-first seated for even the VIP seating. The drinks ordered when seated were weak for $8 each (supplying our glasses). The food not what it was made out to be with slow service and the show lacked continuity.
Perhaps it's different for a tourist or on a less crowded weekday and I'm sure the kids enjoyed it, but for a regular price of $61 per adult and $41 for children or even the half price promo they're offering, IMHO Knotts a block away would be a better/cheaper option.
I do intend to write a letter to management expressing my disappointment -

Scenario: 630pm showing with my girls and our men
Yays!!!
- 3 course meal served during an entertaining show...win!
- Chicken is moist and tender...AND you get half of the bird!
- Pirates show is funny, entertaining, interactive, and showcases a variety of talent
- Complimentary appetizers served 2 hours before and leading up to the show
- They do birthday/anniversary/etc. shoutouts
Nays...
- Lighting is limited while you're eating due to the show...they need more table tealight candles!
- Pork dinner is small and dry...doesn't help that they drench it in BBQ sauce.
- Sucks if you get a crappy pirate....
- Their cocktails come with a nifty glass you can keep, but it's not very strong
Do I dig it? Yea it was fun...I wouldn't mind coming back if I was with a big group of people. -

It's alright if you get a good deal on it. The food is alright, nothing special. Get there about an hour and a half early for appetizers. Drinks are pretty pricey. If you decide to arrive early grab a seat cause they go fast. But be sure to give up your seats for an elderly. Was a shame seeing these brat kids sitting and running around when someone older man or woman looks like they need to sit. Have some manors people!!

I took my 7 year old daughter for a birthday party with 5 other kids her age.
For the kids, it was a grand ol' time. They got to see crazy pirates jumping around, hear loud music, and cheer for their colors. The stunts were great, and the kids were also involved in the show. They loved it.
For the adults: I don't think I'd pay $35 to do it again (I'm not even sure that's discounted). Alcohol seemed watered down, first of all. Also, the food was sub par. It looked like they simply put a piece of pork in the oven, made sure it was cooked, then poured bbq sauce on it. The mashed potatoes were ok, but nothing to brag about. They also included broccoli, which was...well, meh. The pre-dinner salad was also just "meh". It was just a bunch of lettuce with some ranch on it (luckily my girlfriend got two cherry tomatoes so I stole one). The dessert was good, but again, nothing to brag about.
Obviously this experience isn't geared towards me as an adult, but if I'm taking my daughter somewhere again, I wouldn't recommend we come back.
Overall, if you have kids, bring them here. If it's you and your buddies going out for a different kind of fun, I'd say pass. You'll leave sober, hungry, and broke. -

This show was ok. We were seated near a post which was in our direct view of the main stage. Bad view of the stage. We were crammed together in our seats and could not eat dinner comfortably without bumping elbows with the person sitting next to you. We went on a Wednesday so it wasn't too crowded. There was still a lot of seats left, so I think they should have spread us out a little.
From the parts I did get to see, the actors and actresses were really good and very entertaining.
The food was ok and they do serve finger foods before you walk into the auditorium. I'm glad I got my tickets at a discounted price because after coming to the show, I would not pay to watch this show at regular price. -

This show is nothing but awesome all over the place! The audience participation is par excellent! Get there early for best seats and time to sample the hor d'oeuvres: the mac n cheese nuggets are amazing and among the best mac n cheese concoction ever! Grab as many as you like - handfuls! When did anyone think they would be able to grab mac n cheese by the handful and enjoy it? Possibly never... But the culinary geniuses at the Pirates Dinner Adventure have made it so. The show itself is an awesome show. Be loud, clap often and scream your head off and you will more than likely be hand picked by one of the swashbuckling shipmates to participate in one of the many games that the pirates compete in during the show. Highly active, audience participating fun!
Their drink menu is pretty good and if you get the souvenir glass, you get refills at half price!
And try to get the groupon if it even becomes available again! Makes the experience that much better! -
Review from Kiki N.
Came here tonight with low to no expectations. Dinner date was long overdue with a gf so we figured let's try something different.
To sum it up, the show goes something like this: pirate dialogue, pirate rumble, musical-esque songs, twirling in the air, jumping on the trampoline, more dialogue and more fighting and courtship for the wench bride with corny jokes here and there.
Definitely geared towards the kids and the ghetto. So cheesy we shared some giggles and thought it was interestingly redunkulous.
Food - don't expect gourmet when it's supposed to be quick and served in mass quantities. Your choice of soup or salad, roasted chicken or bbq pork with veggies and apple pie a la mode. Edible. Service was efficient and friendly.
Ooh, I did enjoy toasting and swaying my drink in the air like a hooligan at the end to their catchy "drink, drink, drink" song. At least it's off my bucket list! -

Went today with a friend (because we bought tickets on Groupon) and LOVED it. We're planning on going back.
We had a really great time. The theater is split into colors (as other reviews said) and we sat in the orange section and had a great view (and an awesome pirate to root for). The show was very entertaining and super interactive which kept everyone engaged (especially the kids). The pre-show was great too and kept everyone wildly entertained until it was time to go in.
The staff served food quickly and it was great! I had the pork with mashed potatoes and broccoli. Started off with a green salad (with ranch dressing) and ice cream and apple pie for desert.
The show was a lot of fun, musical theater mixed with acrobatics. I I loved the audience participation throughout and it was fun to cheer for your color pirate.
The show ran about 2 hours. Parking was easy (and free) and the theater was super easy to find (it's right by Knott's Berry Farm). Can't wait to head back. Go Orange!

The food tasted mediocre.
The show catered to parents in the audience seeing their own children dressed up in 18th century costumes. It was not cute and I was bored! -

Enjoyed the show from start to end.... Food was great. Our waiter Mark was the BEST. We sat in the red section... The pirates all have different personalities and it didnt hurt that two had a sexy thing jumping off. Came here for my cousin's birthday and the whole family from granny to kids enjoyed it. We even had guest who came late and was still extended with great service as if they we're on time. No rush at all.....
Kudos team Pirates. -

An excited party of five came here to celebrate a birthday last Friday. We were assigned the green team. All had a great time! Everyone was chosen to be part of the show. The birthday boy wanted steak, so they gladly obliged. Our pirate was a great dancer and acrobat ;) Our server was wonderful and took good care of us. The birthday cake we ordered was so yummy. I liked the icing especially. Thank you for a memorable night!

I wish I could have traded in my meal for more wine!!! Haha...
All in all a fun experience, the show was fun. I believe our Pirates were actually volunteers? I'm not quite sure if I heard it right, but coming out to this event would be a great way to support their cause... whatever the heck it is. If and when I find out I will be sure to update everybody :)
I came in here w/ low expectations.. especially after shelling out $40 bucks I really didn't think that Pirates could over come the mountain of cash I had shelled out for a dinner and show... this isn't Vegas, it's Buena Park after all.
All in all, the theatrics were entertaining, the trampoline jumps were well done and the dialogue was great (especially after the wine)... these guys gave it a great effort and I enjoyed every minute of the show
By the end of the night did I feel the show justified the money? Nah not really... but was the show a complete joke and a waste of time? Nah not really either.
On the right day when the moon shines just right, Pirates is actually pretty decent... but nothing more. I rather get a Knott's 1/2 day ticket and a 12 pack of Bud Light--who's down to pre-party?!
