Slather on the sunscreen and grab a towel - Pirate's Cove is a great place to beat the Summer heat!  Activities for all ages abound at the park:  Water slides, a lazy river, kids fort play area, swimming pools and a mini sand beach.

There are water slides for everyone's speed - super fast, fast and slow.  Grab a clear inner tube and spend some time floating along the lazy river.  Find a beach chair to relax in while you watch the kiddos romp through the fort.  Listen for the bell and stake your spot under the big bucket to get drenched!  Enjoy a treat from the snack bar. The kids will love choosing from a variety of flavors to top their shaved ices. Cash only for the shaved ice.

The park is always clean, has friendly employees and lots of watchful lifeguards.  (Parents should always be in the water with small children!)  The snack bar has pizza, hot dogs, nachos, etc. that are reasonably priced. Lockers are available to rent for 25 cents.  They are about 1 sq. ft. of storage space so bring some quarters if you have a lot of stuff to lock up.

Be sure to arrive early in the day to get the most for your money.  No refunds are given for inclement weather and we all know how Colorado  weather can change in an instant.   See you at the pool!

Myself and my 3 little ones, ages 9-5, thoroughly enjoy this place. It is not a little bad water park for the money. My one and only complaint is that over the last 2 years it really has gotten much busier on the weekends.. It was so packed when we were there that it was difficult to find a place to set down our towels and such. We did find a place eventually... near the smelly, muddy grass that everyone was avoiding.. They really could use some more tables and maybe cement the low areas to avoid stinky, smelly mud puddles.

I do like that we can pack our own lunch and go in and spend the day, without dropping hundreds of dollars, like you would at Water World or at 6 Flags. I only wish there were more of these smaller parks throughout the city, so they weren't so overly crowded. But I guess to keep their prices low, they need to pack in as many people as they can.

Pretty rough. I knew going into it that the slides were said to be weak and the place is for kids but I thought it would be nice to at least float the river and hit the slide a few times.

20+ minute wait just to get in the river. WEAK! The lines for the slides were about 15.

Definitely good for kids but if you think it would be a fun novelty when you're an adult, you'll be sorely mistaken :/

If you're between the ages of 3 and 10, you'll love Pirate's Cove! It's no Water World, but at $8.25 per adult and $7 per kid over age 2 (Englewood Rec members are less), it's a bargain way to beat the summer heat.

The majority of the park is taken up by a huge, water-blastin' play structure set in a kiddie pool where the deepest part is only about 3 feet (and there are plenty of spots where it's markedly less). Kids can climb up rope nets, slide through sprinklers, shoot water jets at their friends, and crawl through spraying tunnels. What more could they want?

    Oh. A waterslide.

Well, lucky for these more adventurous sort, Pirate's Cove has three! None would ever be deemed "thrilling" by adult standards, but for that 3-10 year old age set, they're perfect. There's also a Lazy River, but it's boring even by Lazy River standards; there aren't any waterfalls or eddys to speak of.

If you're looking for a wild n' scary waterpark, Pirate's Cove isn't your place. Spend the extra money and head to Water World (or at least Elitch's). But if you've got wee little ones who are whining and sweating and going crazy in the summer heat, Pirate's Cove is a bargain way to get them their slippin', slidin' fix.

Want to play a fun game while the little ones turn into prunes? See if you can s'pot all the gratuitou'sly mis'splaced apostrophe's on their s'ignage!
