All right, full disclosure, sentimental connection to this place as it's a bona fide institution in my hometown and I have been going here at least once every few months since I was around ten years old, and I frankly haven't strayed much from ordering the same couple of items every time I've gone. (potato skins with chili on the side, cheddar burger with sauteed onions, medium well.)

Despite this, I will muster all the objectivity I can for this review. As other reviewers have stated, if there is a better burger in Westchester, I haven't had it (Candlelight KMA). Juicy (I think the reviewer who stated the meat might be 75/25 is onto something) and cooked to order every time. Fries are light but with a bit of that flaky crust type coating that was all the rage about ten years ago. The full complement of pub grub is available, all done as well as it can be (Skins are served with a chee"z" sauce that I feel is eminently better than the shredded stuff in that application, and to serve skins on a bed of tortilla chips with salsa provided is to win my soon-to-be-engorged heart).

Front half is a long bar (not a bad place to eat if the dining area is full, which it often is, weekends will bring a 45-minute wait during dinner rush), back half is the dining area, a circle of booth/bench combos around tables and chairs (I avoid the tables if possible, but a group of over four people will land you there). Lighting provided by lamps hanging over the tables. Loud as can be during the rush. Service attentive but laid back, drink refilled quickly.

Oh, and about the drinks, happy to report that the tap lines are clean and the beer has been fresh every time I've gone, which is always a concern of mine at pub-style places.

Recommended without hesitation. Fun tip from a local: there's a parking area in the rear, take your first right as you head down the hill on Fisher Avenue, about halfway up the block there'll be a driveway going up a steep grade...there are about a dozen spots, and usually some space free even during the busiest times. Saves you a walk from the lot in front of the library and a mad, death defying sprint across Post Road.

    Great Burgers.
I am not big on burgers, but when I am in the mood, this is the place to go! I get the cheddar burger! Cooked to medium perfection (just how I ordered)...
Friendly staff and casual comfy atmosphere...

Came here with my folks... we arrived and the usual, a queue. I went to see the hostess then whom happened to be the lady owner as well... She gave me the look and she said she will be right back. Upon seating the customers who came before us, I was expecting I'd be next in the list...wrong!!!!!

Her friends (I'd assume  they're  friends cause they called each other by first names, hugged each other and told them to sit at the bar while waiting)...

She then took the list and wrote down their name and the number of party, 3. She then remembered me, looked at me, and she was surprised to see me as if she saw a ghost, then asked me my name and wrote my name after her friends.....

She wrote my name after "her friends"...... in front of me. (Thank you for welcoming me =))

We are regulars as well, and bottom line is, we are customers.  I don't think id come back. I felt really offended. Thanks but no thanks!

So the burgers are AWESOME. But, there is very little parking and it can be difficult to access. Also, maybe it was the time I visited but I had no actual server/waiter. It was a different person every time.

I go to Pipers Kilt quite often and they do not disappoint. Their burgers are kind of a staple, but I usually order the wings and I do not leave dissatisfied. They're a very familial place--they're friendly and the staff is attentive. I'd give it five stars but it CAN get crowded... so I'd try and beat the dinner rush and be warned that it will probably be crowded on weekends, as well. It's great if you want to spend a night having a few beers and relaxing with your friends, as there is a full bar area at one end, or if you'd like to sit down and have a meal, since they offer a restaurant area on the other end. I highly recommend Pipers Kilt. I doubt they'll ever lose me as a customer.

*This review is for their burger*

This place has gotten a lot of recognition for their burgers. I came in here with high hopes and expectations and boy did they not disappoint! I had the Eastchester burger which comes with chili and some onion rings on the side with fries and a pickle. I didn't even know how to attack this monstrous burger after I had stacked the lettuce, tomatoes, and onion rings on it. This burger is juicy and just amazingly delicious! It is hands down the best burger I have ever eaten in my life! The burger is cooked to perfection. I love a good burger that isn't overpowered by all the condiments and this burger is it! Oh and the bartenders are very nice and attentive! This is a great spot for some drinks or to eat. I will definitely come back!

The burgers are HUGE and are JUICY. I seriously think the meat:fat ratio is 75:25. It definitely feels like its fattier than your typical 80:20.

This looks like your average pub, but there are signs outside that says it serves the best hamburger in Westchester. They aren't lying.

They serve 1/2 lb monstrosities. I tried the Bacon/Swiss burger as well as the Manhattan Burger. The Eastchester burger looks monstrous too, but I never got it because it seems like they give you too much. I have to say that i did try my friend's onion ring which came with the Eastchester burger and it is so much better than their fries.

I usually ask for my burger med rare., the last time i went it came out medium but it was still so juicy and flavorful. It has a great meaty flavor.

The burgers are the bomb. The nachos are good too, but it can be better. It is a messy app, and you def need to share it with someone because they give you a heaping portion.

I love how they serve pitchers of beer too.  The staff are friendly and very attentive.

MMMMMmmmm This is my new go to spot for burgers in Westchester.

On another adventure for a great burger... I ordered The Bronx Bomber because the BBQ sauce and caramelized onions had a great beefy flavor, and with the Swiss, it was like french onion soup on a burger.

With it being only one mile off the Hutchinson Parkway, I don't see why you wouldn't stop. Big, juicy, flavor full, creative and a great burger to bun to topping ratio.

I thought it was quite funny that Leslie gives two stars. She goes to a burger joint and eats wings but says her husband said it was just ok. Am I going to sit here and say Pipers is the best burger in Westchester? Nope. I can't do that, I'm not about to test every burger joint in Westchester. Nor am I going to have others eat burgers and base my review on someone else's opinion. Pipers burgers are the bomb. They are always juicy! As for over cooked and under cooked blah blah blah reviews, send the burger back. I had to once and they got it right the second time. Big deal, get over yourself. As far as the bar itself, nice pub atmosphere and the staff rocks.

I do love Piper's Kilt ... their Bronx Bomber is killer, the nachos are delicious and for some odd reason, I love their garden salad even though it's the most plain thing you've ever seen. It's without doubt a favorite establishment, which is obvious when you're frantically searching for a parking spot (hint, the back of the restaurant has a small lot for cars that you can access by driving down a one-way street and riding up a small hill driveway).

But I must deduct one star because during my last visit, we saw a roach crawling on the wall. I realize that every restaurant I've ever been to probably has one or several manner of vermin or rodents crawling about, but if I see it, I'm going to respond to it. Sorry, guys.

    Go "Broadway Style"!

That means you want your burger to be larger at 10oz. Pipers has consistently prepared my order to medium rare which is why it's such an awesome burger place.  It's a hockey puck sized patty and I switch between the Eastchester (with chili and a couple of onion rings) or the Bronx Bomber (swiss and caramelized onions). The onion rings are hand battered and come with an addictive tangy sauce. It's like a hybrid of honey mustard and Arby's Horsey sauce.

Domestic beers are 3 bucks for a 10oz mug and pitchers are 10.50. You may have to wait for a table but service has always been good. When it gets busy you may wait a while for them to churn out burgers but it's worth the wait.

The chilli that came with my Eastchester burger was blah. It will be good if they add  a kids menu with kid size portions.

We headed to Piper's Kilt after the fine dining place up the road lost power and couldn't serve dinner on a recent very stormy night.

The staff were very friendly, and the dining room wasn't very crowded. We started with the onion rings, which were served hot and clearly freshly made, if a little greasy. The sauce was a little too hot, but we still finished them! We also ordered the potato skins, which interestingly enough, come with a whole plate of tortilla chips, too. Good, and better than the onion rings.

Each of us got burgers, and they were all cooked just as we ordered them. The smaller burgers were just right, as was the big 10 oz, and all served hot and at the same  time - good chef. I agree with Devin, though - the crispy coated fries - eh. Steak fries would have been great - apparently that is what they used to have according to our dining companions, who have been eating there for some time.

Bring back the steak fries! Regardless - best burger I have had in a very long time! Glad the other place lost power!

It's ok... I don't know why people rant and rave about the burgers. They weren't that flavorful. I could have seasoned a better burger.

Service was good, beer was cold, and food came out pretty quick.

    Best. Burger. Ever.

Seriously. I'm about to drool just thinking about it.

Their burgers are big and run-down-your-arm-juicy. Fries are greasy and delicious. It's usually busy and can get crowded at the bar, but it's worth the wait.

Their wings are good, too. Sauce has a kick to it but they're by no means hot (because I'm a wuss and wouldn't be able to handle it if they were).

    Nice little Irish pub.

They claim to have the best burger. It's pretty darn good. It is definitely one of the best Ive had. They don't have the best fries though. Seriously get steak fries. Those crispy coated fries are awful. I'd love to know why restaurants order that trash.

The place is very friendly. The bar area is clean and nice. A few tv's located showing ESPN, MSG and the like.

A great place to stop for a quick lunch.

Went there for dinner with my husband the other night after being told they have the best burgers in Westchester, and we were not impressed. I dont eat burgers so I had the wings. They were not even worth calling "good" they were undercooked and the sauce was awful. The burger my husband had on the other hand, he said was very good, but by no means the best he has had. Very disappointing. I guess that's why Mickey Spillane's next door is still there.

Sorry folks, but I gotta burst the Piper's Kilt bubble here.  If you think these are the best burgers in Westchester then I feel sorry for you.  I can think of  some places in Westchester that has better burgers than PK.  The burgers I've had are never cooked the way I request (Medium) but instead are cooked the same way - black on the outside.   I hate hate hate going to a place with hype behind it and then being disappointed.  What's wrong with me? What am I missing?   I'm left unimpressed.  Go ahead, say you don't know what I'm talking about. I stand by this.

I was also a little uncomfortable with the service I've had on my visits.  A little too close for comfort for me, no I do not wish to show you my tattoos, just take my order please, I'm here with a date.

This is a pretty helluva burger folks.  We tried the Easterchester, which comes with chili, fries, and onion rings, and the Bronx Bomber, which is bbq sauce, swiss and grilled onions.  Both were very tasty burgers.

The pints of Guinness, Sam A and Harp are pretty cheap as are the eats.

Best part about this location is the service.  We choose to go on St. Pats Day, which could have proven to be hell on earth.  However, the waitstaff was fantastic to us, attentive without being probing.  We'll be back.

Piper's Kilt is a nice place for a burger.  The restaurant is clean and well decorated with sports memorabilia.  The service is always cheerful and prompt.  The food is good.  I have to confess that I don't think that the burgers are as good as everybody thinks they are, but they are fine.  The chicken wings are well prepared, but the sauce is sweeter than is typical.  The french fries, onion rings, etc... are excellent.  It's uncrowded during lunch hours, which is when we prefer to go.  The prices are very reasonable, too.

This burger joint is so flippin' tastified, you'll sacrifice your education and overall future just for a few bites.

Me & my peers would consistently slough off classes in lieu of attending said pub.

As you can tell by my stunning mastery of the language, cutting those bullshit English classes in favor of gorging myself on this ground beef slice of Jesus has not harmed me.

I suggest opting to eat at this place rather than attending a loved one's wedding, a religious rite, a parent's funeral or even your own grad school commencement. The beef-hocks slung at this brew joint are good enough to miss those once-in-a-lifetime events.

If you consume the beef here, and do not end up throwing a caber in the air while yodeling traditional Scotch folk shepherd hymnal chants, or at least attempting to blow them through a set of bagpipes, then you, sir, are gross.

I've known about Piper's Kilt for a while....I've read the reviews and heard all the great word of mouth, and have tried this place out on several occasions. And at the risk of sounding crazy, I really don't think Piper's Kilt is all that great.  The burgers, which are supposedly the best in Westchester (how many places claim that?) are really no better than the ones you can find at any backyard barbecue. Every one that either myself or my girlfriend has ordered has been overcooked until the outside is burnt up, with only a slight amount of juice left to trickle out. Both medium and medium-well burgers come out the same, with no pink inside at all (well-done). I've never had one that was tender or juicy (which I, and most people I know, prefer a burger to be). The fries are also overcooked and too crunchy.  I've ordered wings here and they weren't too bad, but I've had much better.

The service here is also a bit sketchy, there's one waiter I've had a few times who has some boundary issues and is a little too forward with customers. And don't grab my glass when it's right in front of my plate while I'm eating, assuming I want a refill. ASK FIRST! As others have mentioned, this is a small place and it gets crowded fast. It often takes a while for them to get your food on the table, longer than burgers and fries should take (approximately 30 min. after ordering is a little too long in my book).

I really wanted to like Piper's Kilt, and gave it several chances, but it just didn't work out.

The burgers are good. Maybe a step above adequate. Nothing worth raving over, and certainly not the best around. Sides are frozen heat-n-eat foodservice specials, again typical pub grub. The beers were served cold and refreshed in a timely fashion, by a server who made up for any of the qualms I may have had with the underwhelming food. Maybe my expectations were just too high, maybe the kitchen had an off night. I'd be back, if only because the servers were all friendly and had a good sense of humor. that kind of banter is rare even in a casual restaurant these days.

This is IT for burgers in Westchester County. The Blazer what? Candlelight who?

First, the atmosphere. This is your typical Irish pub, with the row of regulars lined up at the bar, watching sports, etc. The dining area is very simple, yet clean. They actually did some renovations recently that I didnt love...mostly because when it comes to favorite restaurants, I hate to see things change. However, it is still simple and cozy....a great place for friends and families.

Service- Fast, friendly, on top of their game. The only time you ever have to wait is when they are slammed, but its such a small place that you can always flag down your server or if waiting to be seated, keep an eye on how things are progressing.

So now, the food. Clearly, I come here for the burger but from what Ive heard, everything is great. The onion rings are a fav of mine, great batter, crispy and a sauce that is so good, we have requested extra sauce to take home for leftovers every time we have been there. Then comes the burgers....there are a few different kinds to choose from, all with a New York-inspired name. They are always cooked exactly how you order them and the beef is of a great quality. They come in two different sizes, but even the smaller patty is huge.  Regardless of whatever burger you choose, you will not be disappointed.

    My ONLY gripe....no take-out.

I'm fairly new to the Eastchester area, and my fiancee and I checked out Piper's Kilt a few months ago because we heard they have the best burgers in Westchester. The burgers are indeed amazing! I always get the blue cheese burger, which is packed full of blue cheese. They always cook my burger perfectly (not black on the outside as some reviewers said). The burger is a generous size and it comes with great battered fries, so prepare to leave with a stomach ache. The only down side is that the lot in the back is tiny, but there's a lot across the road, and the place is typically packed on the weekends, and the tables are a bit close together. Service is good if not overly friendly, but they make a damn good burger for a good price. It's going to be a regular spot for me.

Best burger in Westchester, period.  A pub burger at it's juciest and plumpest.  Outstanding 'old-world' pub interior.  If going on a weekend, expect a wait after 6pm.

Absolutely nothing vegetarian except for salads and an appetizer?  Boo.  This is 2010, time to get with the program.
