This is one of my favorite places to watch a game. It can get pretty crowded, but they have tv's everywhere so for nearsighted folks like myself it is easy to catch what's going on from wherever you are standing.
Service and food are pretty good too! We watched the Bear's superbowl here and despite it being insanely crowded we had timely/friendly service. I stop in occasionally when I'm in the mood for bar fare, and it always hits the spot.
I would definitely not come here on a Friday or Saturday night though, not really my thing. But definitely good for games.
Let me say that I would NOT go back ever ever ever!
Negatives
* Bad Service (the girl didn't understand english) No offense but if you can't speak english to a basic understanding then you shouldn't be waiting tables. A for effort though, but the restaurant was just setting this girl up to fail, which is what I fould to be most disturbing.
* Nachos (yum!, they were quite good)
* Burger (mediocre, go to BK)
Positives
Nice interior
Mini-tv's at each table to watch the game
So I went back here for a drink before my date to get some liquid courage. And low and behold, BROOK who I met on NYE of this year happened to work there recently.
Oh I was so happy,
1) because I haven't seen her pretty much since and
2) for the friendly face and some catch up time.
Since my date was a bore and the restaurant we met at wasn't too far away so I decided to walk back to this place after I paid my bill with the date and after she saw me sit down, a drink appeared right infront of me, and just what I liked, a gin and tonic. LOVED IT.
Keep in mind the waitresses are still pretty slow as I noticed from the bar, so stay at the bar if you can.
HAPPY DRINKING :)

wait staff...eh
burgers...really eh
We were taking a west side food tour; had a suggestion for Pint... Three of us; all agreed we will not be back... I went for the Kobe burger for 12 bucks, what a waste, I consider myself somewhat of a bar burger connoisseur, this burger was dry flavorless and not exceptional in anyway... This was the sentiment on both my buddies burgers as well, they went for the cheaper Angus burgers, not that much cheaper and no more flavor or moisture...
I was not as put off as my friend was that our waitress spoke practically no english, I mean painfully little, which I didn't have a huge problem with, my buddy being in hospitality management, for a major Chicago property, was super put out-that her managers would put her and her customers in such an awkward position of ill-communication. I am of the opinion that she could have been an english professor and it would not have helped these dry overpriced burgers...
No thanks to another Pint!
Hm mm ... where do I start?
A decent selection of cheap beers. An interesting crowd of people ranging in all ages - some fully dressed others wearing little more than a swim suit (literally a bikini top) and shorts make for an interesting experience. We made our way to the back of the bar to enjoy the shenanigans these patrons were about to perform. We took a seat on a cheap couch that belonged in a frat house basement. When the show was rudely interrupted by a less than friendly waitress. She wanted to make it known we needed to order our drinks from her. Ok, all 3 of our $4 beers, next time will be ordered from you. (When working primarily on tips it usually helps if you are slightly friendly; just an fyi.) Cheap beer is usually a winner in my book, but I am willing to pay for friendlier service elsewhere.

Post review edit:
Had I REALIZED this was going to be my 200th, I would've probably reviewed another place. Ah well. 200 reviews whatup?!

This place is OK. It's my friend Nick's favorite bar in Chicago. They do serve lots of alcohol. The food is middle of the road. It can be very crowded and annoying. On the slow nights it's better. Sitting outside in the sidewalk seating area can be a nice sunny afternoon place to have some drinks and watch the world go by.
Last night I was in there, and there was a guy singing to a recorded music track in the next room. On either side were dudes in sparkly red jumpsuits with sparkly gold banana hammocks sitting awkwardly on the outside of their the jumpsuits. Said banana hammocks were DEFINITELY stuffed for comedic effect. It was like watching a trainwreck. A huge, flaming, amusing, nasty trainwreck. This scene alone moved Pint from a 2-star to a 3-star.
I like this place.
It was my friend last night in Chi-town, so we went bar hopping. This was the last placed be stumbled upon, seems nice, so we went in.
I ordered chocolate martini, it was one of the best I had. In fact, it was one of the best cocktails I had in a long time.
Service was great, our bartender was attentive, music was not too loud at all.
Overall,great place to go.
There is nothing I like better than sitting outside, eating dinner and watching people go by. And Pint is on a stretch of Milwaukee which makes people watching an Olympic sport!
Stopped in here for dinner and drinks on a warm Spring night. We had a split second to make our decision as to where to sit- inside in "regular bar land" or outdoors to dine al fresco between rain showers? Hmm . . .
Decision made, we snagged the last remaining table outside and ordered a couple of beers and some dinner. Time flew by with the interesting people show that was happening both on the sidewalk and from the people driving by in their cars.
The food was fine. Nothing remarkable but my expectations were realistic as Pint is just a bar. I had a Patty Melt which was actually pretty good- and my friend had some of the "sliders" along with one of their dips. They also have other favorites like chicken pot pie, a variety of sandwiches, wraps and predictable bar food like nachos.
Inside- this bar goes for the English pub reincarnated look. Wood paneled walls with book cases and a fireplace with comfy couches scattered about on one side- and a more traditional bar scene on the other. There is also a balcony on the bar side which is another great place to people watch.
Our dinner was cheap ($30 for two including drinks) our beers were cold- and we got to people watch to our heart's content. Score!
Too bad Mother Nature didn't share our enthusiasm and hold back the rain that sent us scurrying back inside to "regular bar land"! But for those fleeting moments outside- I thought Summer had finally come to Chicago!
I read through a few of the reviews on this place and I was thinking why bother. Went the first time a month ago and met my now girlfriend.. wahoo!! But I think the reviews I read were for another place called Pint that has 30 dollar steaks and white table cloths. This Pint was as advertised,, a cool Irish like pub with all the things I have come to know and love. Sassy cute waitstaff, great food, and beers and local characters all around. Can someone point me in the direction of the other place called Pint that the reviews are about... I have to see it. Going there tonight to see Kim the bartender and give her a pce of my mind. love
This would be a 2.5 if such a rating existed. The rounding-up of the rating is due to two factors:
- The super-nice doorman
- The fact that when I walk by here at lunch time, the outdoor seating always looks so inviting
Beyond that, I'm not convinced I'd be back here on a regular basis. With so many bars on Milwaukee, one can afford to be a little choosy.
First, half of the establishment was closed for a private party. I get it, I've been to private parties, blah blah, but it meant that everyone else was packed into half the space. Beyond the din of so many people in such a small area, the music was SO.BLOODY.LOUD. that my date and I left before I even finished my pint.
Later in the evening (when we were safely ensconced in the confines of a better bar), my date informed me of the awkward set-up in the guy's bathroom. Let's just say that, gentlemen, you should try to hold it.
I did, however, have many musical flashbacks thanks to whomever was operating the music playing such brilliant throwbacks as "Lady Marmalade".
Yeahhh.... next!
I am torn on this one. I was here for two drinks on a Saturday night. There was a decent amount of people in the bar, ranging from turned 21 last night based on the sloppy drunkeness to Hugh Hefner age with the 21 year olds all over him. Am I in a reality show? Where are the cameras? It definitely made for an interesting show while my girlfriends and I sat on the couches in the back. While the beers were nice and cheap our waitress was very very very rude. I would go back and give it another shot due to the cheap beer. Maybe it would have been better if we were as drunk as the other girls? 2.5 stars would be my real rating.
I love this place!! Definitely a bar you want to be at during football season...GO BEARS!
For a place called Pint, I would expect a beer list a mile long. Instead on a Saturday around noon we didn't even receive a list. When we asked our server she handed us her hand written list from her check presenter. The beer list was pretty dull for a place called Pint. The menu looked ok, we just ordered the onion rings and vegetarian mushrooms. The food was fine, but nothing spectacular.
Overall a disappointment, and I probably wouldn't go back even if in the area.
Pint now has some outdoor seating. I met friends here for drinks on Thursday and since it wasn't crowded and we got to sit outside, and they weren't blasting pop music, I figured they get another star. Even though their well drink specials were weak.
In addition, I owe them a star because I remembered a period of time spent here on my 21st birthday. I don't know what happened but I guess we descended upon the flower vases. There are pictures of us with flowers in our hair and in our drinks, snoozing happily in a corner booth before stumbling over to Estelle's.

Oh Pint...
I would compare Pint to an ex that you really thought you were in love with, then you run into them on the street like a year later and you feel almost embarrassed to admit you knew them, but you would totally do the ex-one-night-stand if you were drunk enough.
I used to come to Pint all the time, before I lived in the neighborhood and had a chance to explore other places. Also, before I was 21 because they never questioned my fake ID. (Please note I'm not saying you should come here with a fake, or ever use a fake, it was wrong when iI did it and I do not endorse underage drinking.) The place honestly isn't bad on it's own, or during the day. They have nice outside seating when it's warm and the food is actually really good. During the week there's usually enough room to sit somewhere and the service is usually pretty good.
The music is always too loud. On the weekend, I wouldn't bother with the place, it gets really crowded, the service turns to crap, the DJ's are not good, and it's a total douchefest. I have some very fond memories of Pint, but now the I know better, I make my memories else where. Unless I get really drunk and am feeling nostalgic.
4 dolla Jack cocks on Tuesdays, apparently. Hott.
I enjoyed the onion rings and 'tater skins. I think the spinach-artichoke dip was good, too. My friend Dan said he makes a better one (I've had it, it's true). But Pint's version is still a-ok.
Our server just came to Chicago last night from Ireland. Her name is Christina. Be nice to her and tip her well as she is enjoyable.
I've been here twice and have had fun on both occasions. I will surely come back!
PS -- I came here last night after the Yelp Salud event. My life still hurts.
Nothing defines mediocrity to me more than Pint. And this place has a lot of potential: a chill, dim atmosphere, a lot of comfy couches, and a cool loft overlooking the bar. But something just doesn't work. The bar staff usually don't care to actually serve anyone--although this is pretty common for Wicker Park, I suppose. (There is one incredibly nice exception to the bartender problem--if you go and you get a sweet female bartender than chances are she's the one I'm referring to). The music played is a little too chotch-tastic for a bar located in hipster-central. In fact, that statement also hints quite a bit to this bar's average customer, too. Let's just say, I don't think I'd want to be a woman here, unless maybe I was a bartender.
The one really solid thing about this place is the open mic on Tuesdays. Granted, it's only on one side of the bar, and the horrible (recorded) music from the other side often seeps over a bit, but the host is incredibly kind--and pretty funny--the regular musicians are talented, and it always has a few surprising newcomers each week. If only the staff actually cared about selling drinks to this other side of the bar.. (There is usually one very inattentive server, and I usually end up just going up to the bar on the other side).
And by the way, could there be a worse Men's Room setup? God help the timid man who has to "do the two" and is spotted by his date when someone opens the door for a second! (No, thank God this never happened to me). There's no such thing as "privacy" in this men's room.
One of my three stars is composed thusly:
1/4 star for the decent food +
1/4 star for outdoor seating +
1/2 star for a very nice owner
If it weren't for those things, this would be a 2-star joint, hands down.
So my friend and I ventured into Pint last night. It has been over a month since I was in. It was very crowded. A large number of "yuppie" types which really conflicts with the music that the DJ was playing. Although, he repeated one song literally 3 times. The DJ manages to throw in some really great old skool hip hop. I did not get there as early as I had in the past so I was unable to get a seat at the bar and this place is pretty narrow so I felt a little constricted at times. That being said there was a large cast of characters and still big fun.
If someone asks me about Pint. My response would be "Last Night a DJ Saved my Life" :-)

While in Chicago, we went to this bar one night and also for lunch one day. Great service, friendly people. Typical bar, nothing exciting but good music. We all got really good sandwiches and fries. They make their mozzarella sticks there, and honestly, they were some of the best I've ever had. Wicker Park is a great neighborhood and this was definitely a fun place to be.
IMO: There's really nothing positive to note about this incredibly mediocre place. It's too packed to move/speak and be heard on the weekends. The beer prices are neither especially high nor low; cocktails are overpriced and weak. The crowd is Lincoln Park bland/semi-meat marketesque, despite Pint's location in Wicker Park. The music is top 40, which makes sense in that I could actually picture Ryan Seacrest hanging out here.
*meh shrug yawn dip.*
Perhaps I'm biased because I know (and love) one of the door guys, but I've had fun at Pint the few times I've been there for drinks. I've never eaten there, and I took off a star because I'm still reluctant to succumb to the new trend that is Wicker Park (but I'm slowly becoming a convert). Pint is pretty pricey, but once again I'm biased because the owner was extremely nice and gave us free shots since we were friends of an employee.
Overall, I think Pint is a great place to start your night- it's a comfy place with friendly staff, and it's nearby tons of other places in case you want to move on.
this was one of the few bars open on an early friday afternoon. i needed a drink to calm my nerves, or pms, whatever.
a bit stiff for a jameson on the rocks, albeit a hefty one, $9.50 -- ouch. sweet bar maids, though.
sit outside and people watch the beauties of wicker park stroll by.
Yeah I like this place, but its not out of this world.
- decent enough beer selection.
- Good overall pub grub.
-Actually really love the interior alot that I almost gave it 4 stars.
If you live in the area or just visit the area its a reasonably priced place for food and drink compared to some of the foo foo places that are going in around.
Great neighborhood bar, stumbled upon it when my bro and I went "train hopping". We don't live in Chicago but like to board the train and get off in random stops and see what different areas have to offer. Worth the stop, even if this review comes from a tourist.
I stop by Pint every now and then for lunch. It's a very short walk from where I live and the food is very reasonably priced for the $$$. Service is prompt and friendly. They crowd can be a bit annoying in the evening hours, but no real trouble makers. If you need some lunch or a decent drink in Wicker Park...Pint is a good choice.
I've been here both for latenight and for lunch/dinner, and both are great in different ways.
Late night is always crowded, but that's what makes it fun. Get a table upstairs if you can.You have to get your drinks from a server, but it's worth it. Watching the crowd from upstairs while enjoying their generous drinks is such a great experience. Drinks can be mid-ranged, but they have great specials depending on the night. The servers are all great, friendly and speedy.
The food is better than most bar food, but still bar food. Don't go here if you're on a tight schedule, such as your lunch break. It's not the fastest service in the world, but again, the servers are super-nice! The burgers are great, very big!
I go here to have a beer, not to meet people, judge people or party not my stylo people. So I have no complaints. I've been here a few times already, the last time I went my server Hilary told us martinis were on special $5. How can you say no? I only had one French Martini but my friend had 3! I don't know how she had three but she did! It was nice and empty when we went and towards the end of our visit the bartender came around and gave us 2 free shots. HELLO!
I haven't had the food yet, and I honestly like the seating of the place. You're kind of hidden and you have your own flat screen anywhere you sit. I like sitting upstairs especially when it gets a bit more crowded.
4 start bar in my opinion b/c its a great place to go to start off the night, hang out with friends, start conversation and feel at home in Wicker Park. Will be back soon.
Upsides:
Outdoor seating
The atmosphere is nicely unpretentious & relaxed
Crowd is mixed but open to conversation
Many good beers on tap
Comfy upstairs seating
Bartenders were really nice-(wish more bartenders smilied)
Food was good (had dillas)
Downsides:
Waitresses were slow and not the cheeriest
When I go to a shitty bar, I am a million unkind words for it.
When I go to an amazing bar, I am falling all over myself to tell everyone about it.
When I go to a meh bar, that's all I can say. Meh.
I was here this past Saturday with a guy friend of mine for carbombs and beers - and we had a few rounds of each. Bonus points for having Shiner Bock and Fat Tire on tap, and for having really awesome bathrooms, and sweet above-the-bar brickwork.
Otherwise, meh. It's a bar. And for whatever reason, the DJ (or whoever was in charge of sweet jams that night) felt compelled to play a bunch of early- & mid-90's slow dance songs.
Meh.
Totally average bar with bar food and kinda pricey beers. I've only been here when other places are too crowded. The food looks better than it tastes, but there's nothing wrong with it.
Pint is a totally fine place to have a beer. Nothing special and not exactly my style but nothing horrible either. The location is almost everything this place has going for it. It's somewhere between a fancy yuppie bar and a dive, so that's nice.
It's a yuppie sports bar in hipster-ville.
The atmosphere is OK, especially on weeknights. It's not too crowded during the week and the service is slightly better than on the weekends. On the weekends, forget it.
On the weekend this place is too crowded for what it offers and is full of weird yuppie dudes who can't stop hitting on every lady at the bar. If I wanted this experience, I'd go to Wrigleyville. If you happen to be at a table on the weekend after 9:30, forget about prompt or even decent service. Your server will probably forget about you so you'll have to order two beers at once just to get enough until the next time around. It'll also get so packed in there that you won't be able to get out when you decide to leave around 1.
Only redeeming qualities: food is pretty good and service isn't bad during the week. They also have a good selection of beer.
Worst part: I'll keep going back because it's that crazy Wicker Park go-to bar when you can't think of another place to go.
Hopelessly lame, this place reminds me of frat bars from my college years. It's a total meat market with nothing to distinguish it from other places in the area (except for its lameness and that all of the patrons seemed remarkably identical).
I can't say anything of the service; the atmosphere was enough to make me want to leave after hanging out for about 2 minutes.
Nothing but nice to me here. The doorguy, friendly yet firm in the demand for the id. Extra star right there. Barkeep, fast and even more importantly, skilled. Very skilled.
Food, great bar food. Hit the spot, didn't take alot of time and no one cared when I came in by myself for a quick bite to read the paper and chill (always a bonus for me).
Huge beer selection, full bar and great service so its gonna be at the top of my list for summer patio drinking. God love the people watching from this place. And the owner Kevin is an absolute doll! I've never been made to feel more welcome anywhere in this 'hood!
Can I tell you about a wing? Take a deep breath, I kid you not. This is the only wing I would serve Zeus himself. I frequent this palace of Avian gastronomical goodness on the weekends after the office, gym and sauna.
Now ladies, Im usually sitting at the bar sipping on a fermented beverage with one of my tribesman, a younger George Clooney if you will. Im the slightly shorter Mr. Pitt.
How many orders of these wings go down? My accountant only knows.
They only seem to hire smoke.
ONLY ORDER THE BBQ WING.
Be a man, no veggies.
M. Pleasure
Ive been to this place twice. each time i have sat outside.
im giving it 2 stars because the service is SO bad.
each time i went, i had gone inside to tell a server i was going to be sitting outside. 15 minutes later a server would come out and ask if had been helped yet, no. the food is okay. i had a cobb wrap once and then the melt another time. i doubt i would ever go back.
maybe if i was sitting inside i would have had better service.
Good beer, friendly service.
My friends and I are a bunch of assholes. Last Saturday night we did a "Shitholes of Milwaukee Ave." Crawl so of course we stopped in Pint.
Why did we do this? Because we were loaded and at any given point someone in the crew needed to pee.
I used the bathroom. A friend may or may not have pissed in their broom closet...I dunno, I didn't see it, I was only told about it.
Everyone was looking at us as if we had forked tongues and two butts a person. That actually made me feel good about myself. Have you ever disliked a type of person so much that you really really want their disapproval? Yeah, that's who hangs out here.
The doorman was really cool. Yay for him.
The first thing I saw when I walked into this appropriately cutesy-named Wicker Park/Bucktown bar was an exceptionally drunk bartender. Making herself a ketchupy bloody mary. Knocking over an entire rack of glasses. Trying to clean up said glasses with bare hands. But hey, turns out it was her last day. And if I had to serve the Milwaukee masses night and day, I'd be sloshed, too.
That said, Pint ain't half bad for, well, a pint in the afternoon. Plus, it made it easy to kick my four-day binge-drinking marathon up a notch.
My kidneys really fucking hate me.
Grilled cheese with avocado and sprouts... with American/processed cheese (unspecified on menu)? came with those frozen cafeteria fries. Sick. I should have known, but it not being bordered by an Applebee's/Bennigan's combo threw me off.
bonus: waitress wearing a sweat-skirt at lunch.
summary: gross.
I think this bar is really out of place in the area. It'd maybe be better in Wrigleyville?
Drinks are a little expensive, and it took a million minutes to get some nachos.
DON'T go here on a weekend night. You'll want a noose.
Go to Nick's across the street.
