Pinky is definitely not the best nail salon but it's right near my place and I haven't found a better nearby nail shop yet. I tend to call before I go, since I have witnessed major lines.

++:  nice job with the pedi leg scrubs, mani hot towels and mini neck massages
- - :  polish always chips and the staff is not very friendly

I'm a girly girl, and I like my pedicures.  This nail salon just opened, and it's in a very convenient location near my home.  I've been there twice now.

Everything is brand new, clean, with fresh, relaxing colors. The chairs are comfortable, except for the crazy electric chair massager.  Both times I went there, I turned on the massager and it was the most uncomfortable, distracting thing I've ever experienced.  These "prong-like" things jet out (more than usual) and nearly pushed me out of the chair.  Then, it began beating my back like a vigorous session of playing the bongo drums.  I tried to adjust the settings to no avail and quickly turned it off in attempt to salvage the experience and relax.

The pedicure cost $35.  They did a pretty good job (I've had better).  I enjoyed that the pedicure also include a neck and shoulder massage afterward (definitely beats the electric chair massage).  The benefits (convenient location, clean, relaxing environment, decent pedicures, and relaxing neck and shoulder massage) will keep me coming back.

It's been a LOOONG week!  The 8 block walking commute (one way) plus the nightly walks with Ralph has left my toes weary, tired an in serious need of some attention.  Thank goodness a clean, relaxing studio has opened just across the street from my building.

I entered Pinkys and am quickly enveloped by the soft green tones on the wall.  The manager greets me with a gruff "select your color," but I'm not here to chit chat so her lack of welcome doesn't really bother me.

The pedicure chairs are new, which means they actually work on all settings.  I am no 115 lb flower so the kneading feels wonderful on my weary back and neck.

After a few visits I have found a technician I really like.  Sally is attentive and does not take any shortcuts when tending to your fingers and toes

My one complaint about the salon, it is CLEARLY apparent they are thinning their polishes.  If you desire that full, rich color of the polish you have selected, request 3 coats.  Otherwise you will notice fading on the tips of your nails within 2 or 3 days.

I give this place 3 snaps of my freshly polished digits due to the cleanliness, inviting environment, lack of undusted silk plants, dirty fish tanks, and the absence of constant chatter.  Go for a quick getaway and a polish change!

I feel like givng this place 1 star is generous. Pinky Nail Studio--NOT to be confused with Pinky Nail Chicago- has some of the worst customer service. I desperately needed a manicure on my way home from work on Sunday afternoon before leaving the next morning for a trip. I arrived 50 minutes before they closed and was denied  a manicure--ONLY a polish change. A no-talent ass clown can change my polish. It was the other components of a manicure I was in serious need of. Since I dont know anything else about this place, other than their horrible customer service, I will be sure to never return. Damn shame since I live in the area.

I was hesitant to try this location of Pinky because of the low ratings from the previous posts. I'm glad I did try it out because I was definitely satisfied. Finding some extra time on a Sunday afternoon, I popped in without an appointment and was taken care of right away. For $45, I got a manicure and pedicure in a little under an hour. They had a full selection of Essie and OPI polishes and from what I could tell, they weren't thinned. The pedicure chairs were very comfortable and had a massage option. It wasn't just a straight polish only experience, they had a sea salt scrub for my legs, great lotions and a brief shoulder massage while my hands dried. They were very helpful in getting my shoes and purse ready when I left. The true test will be to see how long the polish holds up.

I was so excited when this nail salon opened because I was thinking right around the corner from my house. I really was disappointed with my 45.00 mani and pedi. When I first walked in the "Manager" said what color you want ? Not Hi...what are you getting done today? Hello where is your manners. I then proceed to the Pedi chair since it had been a month since my digits had been done I knew they were in desperate need of some extra TLC. The Pedi seemed to be fine until we got to the polish. It seemed like it had been thinned out. Even with two coats my toes didn't look nice and full like they usually do. Then she proceeded to use cheap top coat...I gently asked if I could have OPI top coat instead of that...the Manager came over and said they didn't have OPI top coat but I saw it sitting there....hmmmmmm

On to the mani
I'm not sure if the young lady was new but she was sure afraid of the "Manager" anyway moving on my cuticles were in bad shape and when I left they still looked the same as when I walked in. The polish was thin and it looked like I did my nails my self.

I did however enjoy the mini back massage they give you as you are drying your digits. The place was very clean I just don't think I will be back even if I am desperate.

I really really wanted this place to work because it's connected to my building. I'm not a hard person to please and rarely complain but this was a pretty intense experience.

The first time I went the lady who did my manicure was shaking so bad and the nail polish chipped in 1 day. I figured they just opened and maybe she was training though so I'd give it another shot. I'm not even mad about that though.Today the manicure and pedicure were average but I had the worst waxing experience of MY LIFE. The male manager was nice - everyone there is pretty nice, I think it was the lady manager (she always stands at the front desk) who did the waxing. I have a high pain tolerance but she ripped my skin off. I was literally bleeding. My eye area is swollen and I'm worried it's going to scar. She waxed half of one eyebrow so it was so much shorter than the other and after all the pain didn't even get any of the stray hairs. You won't believe it but she even accidentally dropped wax in my eye and we had to use a Q-Tip to get it out. At the end when she was putting cream on the swollen eye I showed her where she cut me and all she did was say sorry and smile. I still was charged $65 for the mani, pedi and brow wax. Tonight I looked at my eyebrows in the mirror and was wondering if this lady needs glasses...how could she not see what she did?

Please, please do not get your eyebrows waxed here.
