Before going to L.A., our friend suggested to try a Pink's hot dog.  We chose this location because it was the closest to the Wyndmark timeshare we were staying in.

My husband and I both loved our hot dogs.  There are so many different ways of dressing a dog and their menu has a plethora of combinations to choose from.  If you can think of what would be good on a hot dog, they probably have it.  That's how extensive the menu is.

The lines aren't too long for this place so we were able to snag a seat and eat right away.  But boy the tables are dirty, both inside and out in their patio area.  Its like nothing gets wiped down.  On top of being dirty, the tables inside are not level so they annoyingly move around, and the ones outside seem to have old ketchup in the crevices.

The location of this place is somewhat of a double-edge sword.  Parking is really hard to find because it's next to Knott's Berry farm, but I do like that its close to stores for window shopping.  At least after a big meal, you can walk some of the calories off.

so i've been to pink's in hollywood more than a few times, have driven up to la brea just to get pinks sometimes (and it's not a short drive, it's at least an hour drive) and then they opened this place.

i tried this location when they first opened, and wasn't impressed.  service was slow, the menu wasn't as diverse, the decor isn't as kitsch (which doesn't really matter anyways), the slow service is a real killer.

at the pinks in hollywood you have to wait in line, sometimes really really long times, but when you get up there and order at the booth, you tell them what you want, you wait a few minutes after you pay and your food is there, and those people remember exactly what you ordered and work hard.  if you've been there you know what i'm talking about, their cooks are impressive.

this location just gives pinks a bad name.

i went back a few times, and the slow service just doesn't do it for me.  but something that just pissed me off, something that ruined this place.   what are the hours?  open late right?  at least till 11?

no joke, i drove over there, craving hot dogs, deciding to go there to get something more complex, something with all the extra goodies: guacamole, onions, bacon wrapped, etc. vs. driving down the street to portillo's and they were closed?  it was about 9:30pm.  i just left and drove down to portillos.  sigh*

doesn't it suck when you try to give a place a second chance and they just keep disappointing.

This is the 2nd time visiting PINK's. The first time was about 17 years ago after leaving a club at some random hour in the morning. Now, in general, there are 2 reasons why I don't return to restaurants. Either they suck or it's out of state. The case for this situation is that this place is over-rated. Yea, it's been in the news and on tv but so was OJ.
I tried the chili dog and it was boring but the worst part was the chili used to make this hotdog. If hotdogs could talk, it'd say something like, "I got you this far and this is the thanks I get? Some boring chili that looks more like puree?"
I worked at an Orange Julius and we made chili dogs there. Now that's a chili dog.. Hebrew National quality dogs and chili that stands... Would I go back? No.

Fabulous! LOL! We were looking for something to eat BEFORE we entered Knott's and was hoping to find something fast and cheap off of Beach. Didn't find anything and was just going to splurge and eat inside the park. Before we went in, we passed Mrs.Knott's which was SUPER PACKED and bypassed that.

This Pink's had a similar menu to their big brother in Hollywood. Many dogs to choose from so I was a bit overwhelmed. I also wanted to jump in front of the two big groups ahead of me that were still looking at the menu board.

Crispy casing hot dogs are yummy! Good chili, good fries and good onion rings. I think every table inside ordered rings also. It was a bit cold, and fortunately we found seating inside. There's not a lot of tables inside and a few outside.

Service was fast (no waiters/waitresses). How can you rate yummy dogs, fries and rings so badddd! Hot dogs are affordable too!

I've tried both this and the location in LA and although I would agree with most that the hot dogs in LA are better tasting, this one ain't bad either! I still find every bite warm and satisfying to the core. There's a reason why every time I come here there's a line, even at 11:30pm on a Sunday.

The staff is friendly and quick. Although there was a lot of people the first time I came to this particular location, I had my order ready in 5 minutes. Impressive! I would recommend:

Planet Hollywood Dog - polish dog with grilled mushrooms & onions, melted cheese, and bacon
Mullholland Drive - same toppings but it's a 10in dog instead of a polish sausage

They are never stingy on their toppings either. Like! If you live far away from the LA location, I would give this place a go.

We needed comfort food for some reason...

And we could not decide between Mrs. Knott's fried chicken or Portillo's. Hubby picked fried chicken and as we drove into Knott's Berry Farm I saw  Pink's!  My ultimate in comfort food, second to ramen of course.

As hubby got out of the car to buy fried chicken for us, I calmed stated "Honey, I would really love you a lot if you came back with a chili dog for me."  He calmly turned toward me and stated that I already love him a lot.  Darn!  it's true...

Well, needless to say the ploy worked!

He came back with a chili dog http://www.yelp.com/bi... and a pastrami dog http://www.yelp.com/bi...,

We had them to go because it was so darn hot and I had my beloved Shiro with me.  Fitting scenario, hubby comes back with dogs because I stayed with my dog...

It did not look like my beloved Pink's on the outside, just a normal business along the Market area of Knott's.  The dogs, just didn't look the same.  I seriously think it was because of the simple fact that it lacked horribly in the ambiance department!  NO photograph of stars, the parking lot, the line or the kind parking lot attendant!

My chili dog needed more chili.  The dog itself was crunchy and delish.  Hubby's pastrami dog was good, loaded with tons of pastrami!

    Dogs - 3 Stars
Service - 5 Stars - Hubby was impressed with gal behind the counter
    Ambiance - 1 Star

At the very least, I can say "been there, done that".  I will gladly drive to the original Pink's!

I feel so misled, what on earth is the fuss all about Pink's? Is it the celeb photos? Because from my point of view it ain't the dogs.

It all started out innocent enough, good choice of toppings, clever names, and as anticipated priced at a premium since it's Pink's and is supposed to be a gourmet dog. But after taking a bite I soon realize therein lies the problem, it's JUST A HOT DOG, not a gourmet sausage, just a hot dog.  So no matter how much "lipstick you put on the pig", it's still just a pig.

This place isn't that bad, but when you have a reputation I expect more and this place just didn't deliver. Because Pink's is well-known I was curious, but I don't see me going back again.

My boyfriend took my kids and I to Knott's Scary Farm for my birthday, and by the end of the night, we were all hungry!  I had heard about Pink's on the Travel Channel, so I talked everyone into heading over.  Now, I do not eat meat, so I was going to try to find something chicken based to have.  We went in, and the line was incredible.  It was very fast paced, however, so we did not have to wait very long to order. I was scanning the menu, and my son excitedly exclaimed "they have veggie dogs mom!"   I was impressed...

We all ordered what we wanted, and moved to the end of the line.  The girl handling the drinks was very friendly, and prompt.  We were also magically able to find a table, given the amount of customers in the place.  It was noisy and fast paced, but still a friendly atmosphere.

We got our food, and dug in. I got the veggie hot dog that had cheese, onions, and tortilla chips on the top.  It was AMAZING!  Very fresh ingredients, the bread was fresh and soft.  My boyfriend had a hot dog with mustard, which he said was pretty good.  My son had a chicken sandwich, and my daughter had a chili dog.  All of the food turned out really yummy, and we were full.

The only downside to this place is the price.  All in total, the four of us spent over $35.  And some of us had water to drink.  I would definitely recommend this place however, and will be trying the Pink's here in Las Vegas!

I was going to give up on Pink's but this time around I enjoyed my Chicago Dog and the wife enjoyed her New York Dog.  Also enjoyed the well-seasoned French Fries.

The facility was clean but not the greatest with the volume of costumers in and out of there, I also found each table to be wobbly and annoying while we at.

Pricey but understandable since its by Knott's Berry Farm.

Their "Exit Only Sign," I found it to be comical while I enjoyed my meal because no one cared to pay attention to it.  The pictures of the stars is a intresting peice of decoration and history to the resturant.

I like Pink's. I haven't been to the one in Hollywood/LA and since this one is closer, I don't feel the need to schlep all the way into town. Although I've been told that the LA location is more about the experience. I dunno.

So, the hot dogs. Yes, it's just a hot dog. But! There are so many yummy  choices of stuff to dress it up with! Cheese, mushrooms, onions, bacon, tomatoes, chili, kraut, peppers, mmmmm the choices are endless! Or you can choose from one of their titled dogs; Mulholland, Knotts, etc. Although I was crushed that a gourmet hot dog joint does not offer a genuine Chicago dog. There is a polish sausage on the menu, but no thanks.

So, it's just a hot dog, yes. Honey, we're not at Weinerschnitzel anymore!

You have to wait in line at Pink's - but that just goes with the name. I love them BEST for hot dogs, and am so happy they are now located at Knotts Berry Farm. It doesn't matter what you order, I find it to be heaven in a bun.

I'll start with the good stuff:

Nothing like a Knotts Dog at  Knott's. Sour cream, sauerkraut, relish, sour cream. All my fav' stuff-combined in a bread and dog  sleeve.

The staff were average friendly and helpful, nothing extraordinary.

Free iced water! Much needed after a carnage of all kinds of random toppings and "beef", realistically tasting mysterious.

Framed pictures of celebrities and their sig's. Cool eh?

Menu has a wide selection of different dogs and toppings. you can basically build your own with all kinds of stuff. "can i have a bunch of toppings? side of hot dog?" that's how it looks.

i WAS gonna rate a one star for this review, but the onion rings, which was the best part of the visit, and of course the company that i had, made it better, so 2 ftw.

Now on to the not-so-good stuff:

Now for $6, The hot-dog meat wasn't as plump- guess I should've ordered polish- at least it's bigger. Who doesn't want bigger!? I know for sure I paid for the name and opportunity to look at celebs' versus quality/quantity. but then again, I should surrender to the fact that it's linked with the theme park.

I can't say I enjoyed my meal with our tables  filthy, perhaps layers of other people's residual toppings.  And tables were wobbly so every time someone got up or sat, it just felt like our table was gonna topple over. Awkward, a little. not to be a bummer, but it smelled like an overrated adult chuck e cheese ball pit in there. not the best experience for the cost of a dog.

I've been to the Pink's in Hollywood, which was culturally "filthy", but this theme park location, I don't know if I'd come back.

Are you joking? This couldn't be related to the Pink's in Hollywood, could it? As it turns out, it is. This place is awful. The inside feels run down, my fries were burnt & greasy, my hot dog tasted funny, the service was friendly yet slow. The menu is much smaller than real Pinks in Hollywood. This place is nothing more than a unsightly mole that is tarnishing the legendary name of Pinks. Pinks owners! either whip this place into shape or delete it as it killing your reputation. If this had been my first experience with your restaurant, I'd never return. Luckily I've had the pleasure of visiting your Hollywood and Las Vegas locations. I don't mean to be harsh on you but similar to a good parent, I don't want to see my pride and joy go down this dark and lowly path.
Lets call this one a gamble that didn't pay off and move on.

I for one dont get all the bad reviews. On my visit the hot dogs where fantastic. I am excited that I dont have to travel all the way to Hollyweird, or Lost Vegas to enjoy a Pinks dog. I didnt have to wait a hour in line, like at the Hollyweird location. I just wish more pinks would pop up closer to where I live (Riverside, CA).

As a hot dog fan myself, I think the Original Pink's Hot Dog in Hollywood does a good job at making a decent hot dog. What I noticed about this place is that the food quality went down a little bit. I think that's pretty typical of chain restaurants.  I had the Scotty Dog, which is the equivalent of The Lord of the Rings dog in Hollywood. Its the dog with the onion rings and BBQ sauce.  Overall quality of the hot dog and buns went down slightly. The BBQ sauce was too tangy/salty and it covers the taste of the meat. Average stuff but I still enjoyed myself. Love hot dogs.

I wasn't hungry, but after standing in the season pass line for more than 30 minutes, I thought a pinks would help me pass the time.

Hubby and I traded spots to order and pick up the order. I was so excited, but little did I know I was about to be deflated.

I bit into the deelish lookin hotdog, loaded with chili and onions, expecting a party of flavors in my mouth. What I got was more like a wet mop soaked in oil.

It was like taking a deep chug of milk, only to realize it was expired. OR opening a much anticipated gift at Christmas, only to realize that it was generic version of the toy you wanted...

If you want to know what it tasted like, try this at home. Get a bowl. Fill it with equal parts flour & oil. Add a TINY bit of chili powder and lots of red dye for coloring. Top with onions and mustard if you like. Now, imagine a REALLY good hotdog, and then stick your face in the mixture you just prepared.

We had lunch here when we were at Knott's and I thought it was pretty good. I had the Mulholland Drive Dog which had bacon, grilled mushrooms, nacho cheese, and grilled onions and it was tasty.

I thought that they have some really interesting topping combinations, and this will probably be our go-to when we need to eat at Knott's.

I haven't been to the one in Hollywood, but I want to check it out because my in-laws say that it's way better than this Pink's location.

A case of dashed hopes based on too much hype.

I think if I'd have gone here without ever having heard of how awesome Pink's Hot Dogs are and how people stand in ridiculously long lines at the Hollywood stand, then I probably would've thought this was a great, albeit overpriced, hot dog joint.

Sadly, my hopes were high, and they fell quite a distance when I encountered the pretty good hotdog, the too soggy and not-so-good bun, and the exorbitant prices.

If i extract my expectations of phenomenal hotdog bliss and chalk the sky-high prices to this being a restaurant located at a theme park, then okay, I can give it a solid 3-star rating.

Can you say OVER RATED? Actually it's not really over rated when yelpers already warned me that this place isn't anything good. And really nothing compared to the original pinks, which I believe is in Hollywood.

Ok lets first talk about how the quality of this place. The dog tasted just as good as any warm up hotdog I've made myself, nothing different about it besides the way it looks. What they top off with these dogs though is pretty original and some what pleasing to the taste buds. Nothing really something I can't recreate myself and probably taste better. I have never been to the original Pink's in Hollywood so I can't exactly compare to this place.

This place is pretty much famous for it's celebrities that visit this place. Not sure why different celebrities actually keep coming back here because it's really not all that good. They do have celebrity prices on these dogs though. I freegin spent $19.50 a Brooklyn Dog, a regular nine incher, onion rings and two sodas. Can you believe that $19.50 for that meal that didn't even fill three of us up. It wasn't even that great and on top of that they took a whole dub sack from me, I seriously could of went to costco and bought 4 dogs with sodas and spent under $10 and the hot dog would taste just as good.

Damn celebrities that come here, stop coming here, you guys are jacking up the prices at this horrible hotdog. I understand that this is a tour spot hotdog joint, but really? At least make these dogs worth the price. I did rate this place 3 stars because it was and OK place and I'd probably try it again when I come here just because it is "Pink's" and we have no such thing in the bay area. But I probably won't visit this exact location.

I think a lot of what the problem is with this Pinks is the location. It sucks. I've never been to the pinks in LA/Hollywood so I cant compare, but the ambiance here was a turn off. The place is basically geared towards the park attendees. As for the hot dog, yeah, it was ok. I am not one for one of those fancy dogs loaded with a bunch of crap on it, so I got a chili cheese dog. Pinks is famous for their chili right?

So lets get down to the chili.

Chili is ok. better then your average joints like wienerschnitzel
nor any other fastfood joints where chili is served.

There are some chewy bits of the meet in the chili here and there which is
    not pleasing to the mouth.

Why do I give them 1 star? odd locations. unless you are visiting
    Knotts, parking. and price.

Yes Price. it's ridiculous. Chili cheese dog and chili cheese fries with
    a drink for $16.00?

I will never be going back to pinks even if there is a fire.

I recommend Tommy's for a better experience and taste.

This place is over priced and the dogs are just not that great!  What's worse than paying $18 for two hot dogs with NO drinks??  Both you and your date leaving with a gut wrenching ache in your stomach and the need for a can to vomit in after eating there!

My first time at this location...mebbe it's the weather but it's freaking hot and smelly inside cuz of the grilling...be sure to sit outside under the shaded tables it was well worth it...

Tried the Chicago dog and the bacon chili cheese dog (with tomatoes on top) with fries...

The best thing about this meal....were the battered fries...can't say we'll go back again...the hot dogs truly were not worth the prices..super overpriced for what they were...based on other reviewers...I do have to agree...I can't put my finger on it...but I would much rather go up to eat them in LA than here..even if it's 10 minutes away from me!

    Hmmm.....NOT!

I love doggers and I am not a fussy eater, but after trying this dog stand, I don't think I'll be going back anytime soon.

After eating at both stands, I just don't know if the supplies come from the same supplier as the original Pinks.

Hopefully, the real Pinks is in complete control with regards to where the supplies come from and I visited on an off-day. The hot dogs from the original Pinks and this Pinks just have a different taste to them, like they are a completely different brand.

Family got four different dogs, and we loved them.   Their jalapeno dog is awesome.   It's 12", and it is packed with jalapeno problem.

I disagree with Javier's assessment than the lack of any lines during lunchtime represents a reflection of the food caliber.   I think most people are scared to enter the Knotts' parking area, fearing it will be a zoo.    But truth is, they have quick timed spots, and parking is pretty easy during the lunch hour.

Knotts' chicken is great, but sometimes you just want a big dog.   The fries are good too.  Add some chili on there.

If you haven't been to the La Brea stand, I recommend you go, stand in line forever, and then you will realize how lucky we are to have a Pink's open in OC.

I tried this place some time ago just to see what the big deal was. It was alright....I guess I am a bit more simple when it comes to my hot dog. I am ok with just mustered and ketchup. If you really wanna grab my attention then give me a hot dog wrapped in bacon, topped with onions, bell peppers with mustered and ketchup...kinda like the ones I get before seeing an Angel game...Mmm now those are GOOD!

Ok...so back to PINKS. I probably won't go back. I went for a late lunch and still had to wait in a long line. I don't really care to stand in line to pay for an overpriced hot dog that I wasn't too impressed with....to each their own.

We had the philly cheesesteak dog and the mulholland drive dog.  The unique factor was the nice crunch one of the dogs had due to it's casing.  Besides that, not too sure what the huge hype was over these hot dogs.

Had queen terry dog which was very good. Bun lil soggy cause of all the crap comes on it. A 12 inch jalapeno dog w Bacon pastrami tomato. Tasty & enjoyed a lot.
The nacho chillin cheese fries was good also. Took family here after day at park & enjoyed...I see folks talking bout LA local is better I will have to find out next trip.
Lots of different choices of crazy dogs plenty variety. Recommend to try.

This is my second time having Pinks. I started off in Hollywood. Saw that this one was right next to Knotts and they they were still open so we decided to give them a try.

I dont know if the location or that there wasnt a hour line, but it didn't taste the same to me. THeir food wasn't as good. Their sizings were still huge, but you also gotta pay like 7 bucks for a giant hot dog.

Either way, its uniqe to find a hot dog place and it was great that they were openin. Not too many places like this in SD, so Im still pretty happy.

I would still go back, but not with great expectations as I had before.

I don't understand why all the negative reviews!  This is my favorite hot dog place! Although I have to admit I haven't tried the original L.A. spot, but whatever, this Pink's is awesome!

I usually get the "Today Show" dog, which is 2 hot dogs, guacamole, chili, cheese and onions. I am tempted to add bacon to this but I don't want to look like too much of  a fatty lol.  The hot dog itself is delicious, good quality and I love the snap. The sauces are great and go so well together. This is a sloppy hot dog and will get all over your hands and face.  Goes great with the purple drank aka Knott's Boysenberry punch :P

Everytime I come there is never much of a line, just a few people ahead of me.  Anyway, love this place its just a bit pricey for a hot dog, but it is a darn good hot dog.

The attempt at making Pink's Famous dogs at a theme park... OK let me break it down... They Didn't have some of the items on the menu, veggie dog for my veggie wife, they were out of guacamole, and all this was at 2 in the afternoon. I enjoy Pink's a lot, and after this being my 2nd visit to this location, (They sucked the first time, I gave them another chance). I know I will not be visiting this location again, I'd rather make the trip to the L.A. spot and chow down on a dawg full-o-flavor and wait in the hour + long line... So to finish my disapointment story, yes my order sucked too.. My order did not come out how I ordered it. missing grilled onions and bacon, and my fries were not done all the way.. I felt like someone was deliberately trying to mess with me. When I brought it to the workers attention, they didn't seem to care and didn't say a word, just grabbed my tray as I stood there wondering what the hell is going on.. Then a lady on the other side of the counter yells at me and says come get your order.. as if I was supposed to communicate with mental telepathy, I guess I should have known what they were doing right? But enough of my bitching.. I like the original Pink's but I feel this location was just placed here as a tourist trap and the quality is very lacking.. It's a sad sad thing really..

Eeeewwww. Decided to take the gremlins to Knotts Berry Farm and thought it would be good idea to feed them before we went in. I had always wanted to try Mrs. Knotts Chicken Dinner, but the line was waaaay too long. Instead, opted for Pink's. Mistake!!!!!

"I'd like a Chicago Polish Dog spicy, please." "Sorry, we don't have any spicy polish dogs." Hmmm, you don't have any spicy dogs???
Ooookkkk, give me a mild polish dog and throw some sauerkraut on it. By this time I was starving, since I hadn't had anything to eat yet for the day. My mouth was watering as I got ready to take my first bite. However, after the first bite, the only thing saving this place from zero stars was the sauerkraut (which I love). Everything else was pretty plain and tasteless. It would have gotten more stars had I just ordered a side of sauerkraut and ate it by itself.

Pups ordered a dog that had some nasty chili. Let's just say that I lucked out on just having bland food, since he actually threw it back up later. Really. Eeeewwww.

The onion rings were blah. Definitely had better on many occasions.

Now in all fairness, maybe the one on La Brea is better, but this one sucks a big one. I will never go back there again!

After seeing Pink's on Travel channel various times, me and my boyfriend decided we'd go there and try it out. I ended up getting the chili dog (since that's what they're most famous for). And my boyfriend got the spicy polish dog. Even though we had to wait 30min in line.. the hot dogs were both so good! Not only are the hot dogs good, but I love the atmosphere of this place.. outside, old looking, all of the celebrities photos on the wall that have been there.. love it! Also, you don't have to buy a water bottle.. they have a free water stand and cups on the side. Love this place!! Can't wait to go back and try a Martha Stewart dog!

This is NOT LA'S PINKS on La Brea.   I mean, not even a resemblence.  Granted, I havent had a PINK Dog for over 5-6 yrs, but it was not this bad.

TOUGH TOUGH Casings.   Cold Food.  Mushy fries and Onions Rings.  Watery cold slaw.  Chili Tamale cant touch the hat's.

Pastrami Poli Sausage was below avg.  Last time i check pastrami was this salty goodness of beef with crazy flavor.  This was flavorless meat, disguised as Pastrami.

    Sooo disappointing.
