We had to try pinkberry; heard all about the next taste sensation, sour frozen yogurt, which for us older folks, sounds like the rage in the 70s, it is.
The store is all pastel and candy colors, and bright. Liked the seating and the staff at the store was very nice, even though there was a line backup from the register tape getting fixed. I liked that there is an order counter in front before the pickup at the longer counter with the yogurt and the toppings; it's a smaller crowd and it builds the anticipation a bit.
It was the sensible thing to have the original and not the vanilla yogurt; I really rather taste the tartness with the smoothness instead of masking it with some vanilla. It turned out to be the right choice with some fresh and equally tart raspberries. And after dinner the whole bowl of sour yogurt felt refreshing.
Sour yogurt feels more natural and the sourness, and I like it that way, is better with the sweetness of the toppings, even raspberries went well with my yogurt. We had I think the medium and shared it; all five of us had different flavors and enjoyed it; we will be back to Pinkberry.
Ah, the aged old question. Who is better? Magic or Bird? Manning or Brady? The Rock or Stone Cold Steve Austin? Pinkberry or Red Mango? This isn't specific to any location, though some are better than others, solely based on the amount of sitting space and whether the guy making my yogurt looks like he's going to hit on me or not.
Pinkberry's yogurt isn't as smooth as red mango, imo, but that's where the topping comes in. From all my yogurt eating experience, Red Mango doesn't have promenade seeds. Major points off for that. Strawberry and mochi just isn't the same. I need that tart and sweet effect to be fully satisfied, and substitution is just not acceptable. Ok, it is, but I don't have to like it!
Just for kicks, I'm writing the same review for Red Mango :)
Once upon a time, K-town Pinkberry popped my froyo cherry, and for that I forever swear allegiance to this little shop. (sort of)
The end.
Oh how silly we once were, actually *yearning* for pinkberry. Pinkberry overdid it. It's too easy now, too common. Two years ago it was a treat. Now I sort of wish the trend would die so that their locations could be replaced with high end geleterias.

4.5 Stars. Secret Tip....
Been to pinkberry here, uptown and in ktown in LA. It's all very magical.… Read more »
Pretty good yogurt. The price is a little steep and the servings small. I might go back.
It's a tradition, after we get our Korean food fix, we must have desserts at Pinkberry.
If you don't know Pinkberry, you're missing the boat on fro-yo!!!
I love the tartness of the Pinkberry fro-yo with the mixed fruits and mochi toppings.
The best thing about Pinkberry this time around is they have UNLIMITED toppings for the summer, kinda like a Pinkberry "stimulus plan"...
This is the original frozen yogurt chain that started them all: Berri Pop, Yogurt Planet, Tomunchi, Yogurt Spot, Swirll, etc!! They serve regular tart frozen yogurt and green tea frozen yogurt with fresh fruits, nuts, etc.
The special thing about this Pink Berry is that if you find THIS ONE, then you found Korea-town in NYC (K-town, wussup)!!
And if you are a fan of Korean food, you can pretty much head into any food establishment and be happy with the food and results, it's hard to recommend which one to go to exactly bc all of the cafes and restaurants are mostly named in the Korean language.
I don't go here often, because it's more than I'd normally pay for a dessert. But when I do...oh my, do I leave happy. I love the texture, the flavors (they're kinda tart, so be warned if you're new to the taste), and well, the -look-. Their frozen yogurt is PRETTY when you receive it over the counter. Seriously. Firm and yummy-looking FTW.
The decor here is a catch-22. The color scheme, interesting floor, weird shelf decorations, & weird hanging lamps give the place a modern, cool ambiance that attracts "sitters", but more often than not there aren't enough chairs or room to actually sit and enjoy yourself. And I've never been there when the music wasn't WAY too loud. Still, it's preferable than going outside and having your yogurt melt into a puddle before you walk half a block.
Oh, and much like at bus stops, there is no concept of a "line" to get to the register. People kinda just tend to clump around and "end up" at the front eventually, with no real "first come first serve" direction from the staff. On a busy day it's a free-for-all, so brush up on your line-cutting powers and be ready to weasel your way up to the front for your snack. :p
I used to be ridiculously loyal to their pomegranate flavor. That is, until they introduced *coconut*. Wow. It's tart coconut with a hint of vanilla. Not everyone likes it, but it's the only flavor I get now (unless I can get a coconut-pom twist...mmm).
I love you, Pinkberry. You're my favorite stop on a sweltering summer day. Especially when you give out "free fruit parfait" promotion tickets.
I went here 3x in the 4 days I was in NYC. 'Nuff said.
Visit #1: Original, raspberries, yogurt chips, cookies.
Visit #2: Original, raspberries, yogurt chips, mochi.
Visit #3: Coconut (not too overwhelming!), raspberries, cookies.
Please please please please please open one in Boston!!!!!
MMMmm, frozen yogurt :o)
What's better on a warm sunny day?
I've been to my fair share of yogurt-eries (why not?) around the city, all with similar yogurt and toppings, all delicious of course, but my trip to Pinkberry stands out a bit-the people behind the counter actually had personalities, and were nice!
Nice sitting area if the weather isn't good enough to bring your yogurt out to the park.
I can remember the taste melting in my mouth.
So delish!
It was my 1st time trying it a while ago. My friend literrally dragged me. He purchased it and made me eat it.
I loved it!
Hated the long line ( waited outside for 40 min, inside was packed), but so worth it.
My non guilty pleasure.
Creamy, Tart, Refreshing, Tasty...
...ok, enough about me.
This particular PinkBerry hits my taste buds at just the right spots.
I have to admit...I'm normally a RedMango girl because I just love the creaminess of their froyo (and I think their Pomegranate and Green Tea flavors are better)
But I've always preferred PinkBerry's tartness. And for some reason, this is the ONLY PinkBerry location that has a creamy consistency! (It's not quite as creamy as RedMango, but it's not as icy as most PinkBerry froyo.)
I've tried several locations - from California to New York.
But Ktown's PinkBerry is at the top of my list because it's everything I could hope for in froyo...except for the price.
So cheers to you, Koreatown...you are the only PinkBerry that overrides my RedMango craving.
Pinkberry was my first love. I was a fro-yo virgin when I met Mr. Pinkberry.
What can I say? It had all the components of infatuation. After the first taste, everyday I come to you, drawn inexplicably towards your green and pink façade, my mouth watering at the thought of feeling your swirly goodness on my tongue. The side of you that I love best? Green tea. No one appreciates it like I do. I was an insatiable beast around you.
But then gradually, money came between us, Mr. Pinkberry, and I'm sorry to say that I can no longer afford you like I used to during my heyday. I have defected to Mr. Red Mango who has been kinder to my pockets. But I still yearn for you and I can't deny I feel a twinge of nostalgia and longing as I walk past your abode. Oftentimes I will remember the good times and will not be able to resist a 'final' taste. Maybe someday we can be publicly together again, but until then you will only remain my secret guilty pleasure.
This Pinkberry location is always clean and the workers are friendly. It gets crowded pretty much every night of the week, though the lines move fast.
It's in my opinion better than the Red Mango up the block, but who listens to Asians anyway.
Hopefully you're in the area for Korean food when you visit this Pinkeberry...
One word, heavenly.
I always thought Pinkberry was expensive when my friends went to get some. Seriously $4-8 for some ice cream (that was what I thought it was) felt outrageous since you can get more for that price at some supermarket. Until my friend treated me to some and I fell in love with it. I couldn't believe what I was missing!
My favorite is the original with mangoes, blueberries and strawberries. We tried the passion fruit too and thought it was okay. We always buy the large and share it now so we get more toppings.
I find myself longing for more all the time. *Sigh* I want some now!
Absolutely. Positively. DELICIOUS.
Pinkberry reminded me of my beloved Yogurberry in Atlanta. Tart and sweet at the very same time - just how frozen yogurt is supposed to be. Pinkberry's my favorite yogurt joint, hands down.
Oh and the cute decor interior is a plus. :)
I love this pinkberry. It has seats unlike the Red Mango down the street and it's really clean and refreshing when you walk in here. The cashiers are nice and the service is really quick. AND they have white chocolate shavings - the BEST! I should really just get the frequent yogurt eater card or whatever it is since I love coming here (I threw it away on my last trip to NYC in March - boo, I would've gotten a free one!).
Small comes with two toppings, medium is three and large is four. Small is more than enough for one person. And the yogurt doesn't melt by the time you find a seat. I love it! They had bing cherries and mangos, which is new (I think).

So we are in a "recession". People are losing their jobs, their homes, the price of a metro card is going up and who wants to spend extra cash on useless items that are expensive? Oh, I know. That would be me when I'm having a rough week at work and need to get out of the office for a few.
Off to Pinkberry I go for the very first time with a co-worker. Yes, we virgin pinkberry yogurt eaters are about to spend too much money on frozen yogurt. We've heard the fluff, now we wanted to try the stuff.
We both ordered the regular flavor. A bit tart. Kind of a sour taste to it, but I did enjoy the strawberries and granola as a topping. It was a cold mimic of my usual breakfast of yogurt, granola and strawberries...but with a sweet twist. Not bad for a treat. I can see myself enjoying this every once in a while in the summer when it's ridiculously hot out.
Will I be back? Sure! Just not too often because it is quite pricey.
My favorite is a reg original with double strawberries and milk chocolate shavings. YUM!
MY LOVE. My last meal on earth would definitely involve this!
After making the move from Northern California to Chicago, where there are NO PINKBERRIES (why!!!) I've truly come to appreciate my trips out east to visit my boyfriend because I get to have some frozen, creamy, fruit-topped goodness! Pinkberry beats all the other froyo places (i.e. Red Mango, Yogurtland) because it's the perfect combination of creamy and tart, and always has fresh ingredients. Sometimes I have dreams about this stuff, it's ridiculous. So delicious and has the cutest name eeeeever.
Tip: the original flavor is definitely the best. Also, do the fruity pebbles, trust me.
I finally made it to Pinkberry after about a year of hearing about it, and battling Times Square traffic. It took us about 45 minutes to go a distance that should have taken about 11 minutes. We emerged from my car victorious, after I successfully parallel parked between two cabs (can you tell I'm proud of myself?). I walked in with my mouth all set for green tea, but they didn't have any. The cashier was very friendly, and she allowed us to sample yogurt flavors until we were able to choose the one(s) we wanted. I opted for coconut with pineapple, blackberry and yogurt chips. My yogurt was very tasty and refreshing! I'll definitely go back the next time I'm in the area!
No pinkberry near home, so soon after getting out of Penn station in manhattan, on a hot 80 degree day, we had to try it out. We sampled the pomegranite and green tea flavors finding them subtle relative to the pronounced tartness, settling on the pom..
The reason for 2 stars is that the medium cup we got was laughably paltry. Not only was it only 1/3 full, rendering it smaller than a small cup, but then, after digging in past the top swirl, I found that below, the middle was nearly empty, as the server had swirled around the circumference and a little in the middle and then covered it over on top.
The froyo ponzi scheme (maybe the server was a laid off investment banker.)
The froyo comb-over.
$6 poorer, taste buds barely sated.
sorry, next time, I'm sticking with red mango and fraiche.
I am a frozen yogurt newbie. There's a place back home called Yogiberry in an almost rural town where I was first introduced to tangy froyo. Therefore I've been looking forward to comparing it to some of it's predecessors that have been around a bit longer.
We were just on our way back to eat dinner in when we passed by Crazy Banana. I tried to force my boyfriend to whip out the Blackberry and get the scoop about this place from Yelp. Well he refused, but he promised if we passed a Pinkberry or a Red Mango that we'd stop. Well HA I got my way.
This place is decorated almost identically to my Maryland yogurt place, weird puffy lamps and all. Out of the original, green tea, and pomegranate, I went with the original and got the mango on top. http://www.yelp.com/bi... Bf got the pomegranate with chocolate chips and it was surprisingly tasty! Light and subtle. http://www.yelp.com/bi...
After experiencing Pinkberry, I can't say I notice much of a difference. However, the prices at this particular location were pretty decent, even better I think! Though I'm not sure how many ounces are in a small. After leaving, we passed Red Mango a few doors down.
After masquerading as a Red Mango fan for the last year, I had Pinkberry for the first time in like 10 months and realized, I'm a Pinkberry fan after all.
This was kind of traumatizing, because all this time I've been shittalking Pinkberry and aligning myself with Red Mango lovers. Now I will be only one to vote for Pinkberry in a sea of Red Mango. I'm going to be a social outcast. What will I do this summer?
Am also realizing perhaps my teetering ambivalence for the two big name chains is a result of the departure of my Pinkberry buddy. Oh, hot German, you are still dearly missed. But a year later, I think I am strong enough to venture to PB on my own again.
Yo, it's tart. You know you love it tart.
Although the yogurt isn't bad, the prices are quite high for tart yogurt and the selection is very limited. Only 3-4 flavors and the many toppings are pricey extras. I have to say it's just plain OVERRATED. I'd rather go down to a place like Yogurtland down on Bleecker where they have 10-15 self-serve falvors, more toppings to choose from and charge by the ounce ($0.39/oz.) I don't know why people go nuts over this place and Red Mango. Way overpriced. $7 for a small with 2 toppings?! No thanks.
Pinkberry isn't your typical ice cream parlor - the candy decor is a bit deceptive. When you first step in, the place is rocking with club music! All it needs is a larger space and some disco lights! I'd never would have thought a fro-yo joint would be so hip!
As for the frozen yogurt itself, both the green tea and original flavors are equally good. The yogurt has a slight sour edge, but is still blended well into a light sweetness. I have yet try out their pomegranate flavor, but the previous, now defunct coffee one was a letdown. However, there is a "proper" way to try Pinkberry; that is, there exists an optimal order that is the most satisfying to the consumer. I didn't do that the first time and to you readers, I'm telling you. I learned from my friends that the best way to enjoy Pinkberry is to get a medium size flavor of your choice and three toppings. Make sure to include mochi as one of them, a fruit of some kind, and the third is more about individual preference. The combination is then a smashing medley of healthy goodness!
However, just for frozen yogurt, it's around $7-8 but then again, Starbucks is nearly $5 so it's hard to complain about price.
Getting seats is about survival of the fittest. It's a fight to get those!
Service was friendly and the line is always long - an indication of stable popularity. For the newbie, you can request samples of your frozen yogurt canvas. Of course, I sampled everything before I placed my order!
While I like Pinkberry and its attempt to be not-so-cute, I must be honest in that, I was ever so slightly disappointed that it was not as good as it was projected by media reviews and friends. Here, we're talking about relativity, and a more personal problem of where I place my benchmark of tastiness. Still, I'd come back to Pinkberry once in a while for a healthy treat in the afternoon.
I love Pinkberry. When it first came out, I think I ate it like a couple of times of week. I love green tea with mochi, pineapple and kiwi. However, I do like the new passion fruit.. as well as the new parfaits. I think the parfaits are a great deal.. however, it is a lot for one person.
Although I'm not new to the Pinkberry train and I've been to almost everyone of them in the city, I realized never wrote a review. Is that because they are unremarkable? Forgettable? Altogether uneatable? No. No. No.
Since moving to Boston I miss Pinkberry like an addict misses her needles. Seriously! Do they put crack in there? The slightly sour all similar tasting three flavors (who else is glad they got rid of chocolate?!) of deliciousness are phenomenal with mangoes, strawberries and kiwi. Fruit pebbles, although gross as a cereal are also stellar with the tang of the "healthy" fro-yo.
After a spicy lunch in Koreatown I was craving something a little tart and sweet. And then Pinkberry appeared as if by magic.
Since it's good to get out of one's comfort zone occasionally, I skipped my usual original with mochi and strawberries and opted for a smoothie instead. I figured it might be like Pinkberry in drinkable form.
I am sad to report it was not. The smoothie was instead quite watery and lacking the tart flavor I'd been desiring. Not terrible, but nothing I'd order again.
And then, as if to taunt me, I passed Shake Shack and realized if I'd waited a few blocks I could've hopped in the B line and gotten myself a concrete. *cue sadness*
DAY-UM, GINA!
(Something inside me was telling to write a review starting with a Martin Lawrence reference)
This location used to have lychees as a topping, and if it still did: FIVE FUCKING STARS.
BUT NO, this little franchise frozen yogurt deliciousness had to RUIN EVERYTHING (and not in a good way like Sarah Palin's un-wed 17 year-old pregger daughter is righteously ruining shit) by taking it off the available toppings! The lychees where differentiating this location from the next. It was making it more East Asian-y and not just because this Pinkberry is in kimchi-lovin' Koreatown.
So for fucking up, for making my Pinkberry runs during my lunch break just a tad less interesting and tasty, I give you FOUR FUCKING STARS!
You could have been a contender, GINA!!!
This Pinkberry is located in the heart of Korea Town and just a few stores down is Red Mango. For all those who believe that any asian froyo place tastes the same, please note the following...
It's always best to try the "original" yogurt flavor. This will give you the best guideline to which store taste you like best.
Personally, I like the tangy "true" yogurt flavor and therefore Pinkberry is better than Red Mango. If you like the sweeter yogurt flavor, head to Red Mango a few stores down.
Truthfully, if they made a Pinkberry in the bay area, I would be a frequent (and I mean more than 3 times a week) goer.
I love you no longer, Pinkberry.
Red Mango showed me the way.

After years of avoiding PInkberry due to its pricey reputation, finally gave in and tried it today (in comparison to Red Mango which I finally tried a few days ago.) It's tasty and have a smoother texture than more inexpensive frogurt places, and the coconut was awesome. Pomegranate was also good, passionfruit and original were good but not mindblowing. I rarely have toppings so I can't speak up for it. They had a sign about it being a dollar less in July which is why I finally walked in with a friend and sat on those Philippe Starck chairs.
Not bad, but I just don't see myself going back. Came here because a friend and I finally decided to give this froyo craze a whirl. It was sweet and tangy as I expected, but I just didn't think it tasted that great. And at ~180 calories for the small cup (not counting my cookies 'n' cream topping), it doesn't have much to brag about on the healthy side either.
So which is it? Yummy? Healthy? Eh, neither here nor there in my book. This is how I play:
Healthy - cup of Fage 0% Greek yogurt sweetened with Splenda (80 calories) or honey (depends how heavy your hand is with the honey).
Indulgence - cone of dark chocolate gelato, ben and jerry's, or haagen-dazs (yay comfort food, not even looking at the nutrition label here).
And then Pinkberry is neither low-cal + nutritious enough to be in the first group, nor tasty enough to be in the second. I'll pass.
Pinkberry is something else that they need to migrate to Nor Cal. I'm jealous of So Cal for having it. I will surely go see them while I'm down there this weekend!
I got the green tea with blueberries, and bf got pinkberry with strawberries, blueberries and mango.
I thought green tea was TOO tart, but liked the pinkberry because it was tart and light, especially yummy when combined with strawberries.
The best part, LOW IN CALORIES! I'm a huge fan of healthy desserts. :)
You've had a savory dinner and you are enjoying your after-dinner walk when you find yourself pleasantly surprised to be strolling through Koreatown, mere blocks from home. Something about the night called for something sweet. Ahhh, I know just the thing.
I've been hip to the trend of new yogurt shops and tried a few as they popped up in San Francisco this last year or so. I love the stuff, yet I've never been to a Pinkberry, so I decided now is as good a time as ever to finally try it.
I ordered the original with some strawberries. I'll get straight to the point: this is not that bad...in fact, it's pretty damn good. I like the natural yogurt tanginess, it's refreshing, and the strawberries added a slight tartness themselves. I walked home happily snacking away on my small order, which is just the right size and a perfect ending to the night.
I love this new-generation frozen yogurt, and I've sampled about five different brands from up and down the east coast. So what do I think of Pinkberry?
-- It looks and tastes exactly the same as its copycats. --
Which isn't a bad thing. I love the stuff, but there just isn't much left to say about the frozen yogurt or choice of toppings anymore, because everyone pretty much offers the same thing.
The one comment I do have about this Pinkberry (don't know if it's the same with other locations) is that for the layout of this place isn't very friendly to the newcomer who doesn't know what toppings to get or wants to sample a certain flavor. You pretty much have to know what you want and get in line at the cashier, which is not close enough to the toppings display in order to be helpful.
Other than that, I love the location and I love the frozen yogurt!
There was no line trailing outside Pinkberry so I popped into the store after a bite (5/3) at Kum Gang San. I'm too good to wait for any dessert, unless it's a shaved ice made by the old school Snoopy machine.
"Is that enough blackberries, sir?" as the girl handed me a large original frozen yogurt with blackberry and mango toppings. She smiled.
I discriminate against dried toppings. It's sugary kids' cereal that I wouldn't eat. Fruit, on the other hand, is totally acceptable.
"It's never enough, but thank you. I'm impressed," as I ran out of there like I committed an armed robbery.
19 blackberries. I counted three times. I smiled.
On the subway ride home, I was left with more blackberries than I wanted (12). I forced them down because I knew this will never happen again (never getting a large because I'm pleasantly plump and I am certain this fruit generosity was a one time thing).
Although I find the product to be inconsistent in taste (some days, it's more or less sour/bitter), the server put in the extra effort to make this experience special. This time was a 4. Other times were average and therefore Pinkberry receives an average review of 3 stars.
Once the manager discovered the depleted blackberry inventory, I am certain that benevolent girl was fired. C'mon, if they gave away 19 blackberries for every 1/2 large, they would file for Chapter 11.
I leave you with a moment of Zen:
When will Count Chocula be featured as a Pinkberry dried topping?

Overrated. The green tea flavour isn't all that tasty. I don't understand what the hype is all about. Perhaps I'm missing something? Not that exciting people, I think I'd rather go to *gasp* TCBY.
The green tea flavour was chalky and my friend didn't really care much for hers either. We just wanted a cool treat on our way to our hotel.
Oh yeah, according to my BF, some guy in LA said, "It's ONLY the hottest thing right now." That was two years ago. We still think this quote is funny don't ask me why.
No one can really describe Pinkberry to you; you just have to try it for yourself so I went out of my way to search one out while in NY.
Verdict: yogurt parfait in frozen form.
The berries and yogurt combo was delicious, but while I am a fan of fruit, I'm NOT a fan of FROZEN fruit, which Pinkberry's was. I could eat this as a meal with some granola, but really, what's the huge deal?
