Pink Jeep Tours
37 reviews for Pink Jeep Tours
Coming from Phoenix to Sedona was as scenic as it can get, but how are you going to see all the sites of Sedona?
Take the Pink Jeep Tour.
It was amazing. I went with my parents and they really enjoyed seeing the sites in the back of a jeep wrangler! Remember to hold on tight to the handle bars as the road gets bumpy.
Be sure to take your camera because there's a great lookout point with a spectacular view on the Broken Arrow tour. I would have loved to go on the Diamondback Gulch / Ancient Ruins tour. Maybe next time, as I see some 5 star reviews of that one. If you're lucky you'll see the blue agave plant that makes tequila too!
If you are in Sedona then you know there are some great views of red rock country. For a couple excellent but short and easy hikes try Sugarloaf and Devil's Bridge. You'll take a 1.5 mile trip on a fire road for the bridge hike, so it's not good unless you have an SUV or similar. To find hikes buy a trail map from an outdoors shop in Sedona or Flagstaff.
But if you REALLY want to get out for the sights try a Pink Jeep tour. We took the Broken Arrow / Scenic Rim combo. Broken Arrow was 1.5 hours of steep climbs up and down rock formations at the southeastern side of the valley. Three or four times the jeep climbed at 45 degrees or better. Scenic Rim takes the old dirt Schnebly Hill Road up the eastern side of the valley through three canyons up to the upper rim for about the same amount of time. There aren't any cool 4-wheel climbs, but the view is spectacular all the way up and down.
The combo ran us a little over $100 each for three hours, and we will definitely do it again next time we are in the area. Good guide with lots of local color stories, the jeep was in like new condition and never faltered for a second.
A few for Yelp-eyes only tips - the Scenic Rim tour was very very bumpy, so make sure to completely drain the bladder before you go, or you might be hurting on the way back or have to pee behind a cactus. Also take the 9:00 am tours for the best view and cooler weather. In the afternoon the sun is in the west so the light for the views is wrong.
For something a little more on the wild side try the tour on a rainy day. On Broken Arrow you'll jeep through rushing washes and down slides, on Scenic Rim you'll see a couple dozen excellent waterfalls. If it's an electrical storm you'll probably see some lightning strikes on Thunder Mountain on the north side of Sedona.

We took the Broken Arrow tour. The kids LOVED it, it was definitely a highlight of our trip. Not for the faint of heart, I was a little nauseous by the time it was over, but the kids thought it was great. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and informative.
You can request to be picked up at your hotel.

We did the Diamondback Gulch / Ancient Ruins combination and had a great time. Our guide, Tim was very knowledgable on the area's history, wildlife, vegetation and geology.
We were picked up on time at our hotel (Hampton Suites) and would highly recommend this tour to anyone who comes to Sedona.
Wow - Beyond a good time and lots of fun!
We took the Broken Arrow tour. This advertised an extreme off road adventure. They didn't lie. By far worth every cent. I truly enjoyed myself!
My 72 year old grand parents went on this with me and laughed the whole time. Its really a great experience for anyone looking for a smile.

I wish I could give it 4.5 stars, because my only small gripe is that I wish I could have stayed longer at the four points where they let you off to take in the natural beauty. We took the two hour Broken Arrow tour. Chicken Point was the highlight, so if you take the 1.5 hour tour, make sure you tell the driver to take you to Chicken Point as the last time my husband did this alone on the 1.5 hour Broken Arrow tour, they did not go there.
I just loved it otherwise. We took our almost 4 year old as well and they had the car seat ready for him. I sat in the back with him and had to hold his head towards the side of the seat because it was quite bumpy and his head was swaying back and forth too much. He had a great time otherwise considering he's a bit cautious by nature.
I'd love to hear the comments of yelpers that are 50+ as I wonder if my parents would be able to handle this rough ride.
We took the super-popular Broken Arrow tour and were not disappointed. Our tour guide was Steve who was awesome and gave us great nature and geology lessons along the way - fascinating stuff! The tour takes you over some giant rocks and way way up to scenic vistas, but it's certainly not a scary ride. I'd call it mildly jolting - perfect for families. Definitely take your camera because the pictures will be priceless!

One star for great booking staff. One star for complimentary water and lemonade. Otherwise a waste of money and time. 3 hours on the Ancient Ruins tour was a waste of time. The tour guide explained less than google on my iPhone while on the tour. Our concierge warned us not to go, but we were lured by the promise of learning Native American culture. No mas!
Yup if your male ego can bear being seen in a Pink Jeep, I recommend that you jump into one for a tour of the stunning red rocks of Sedona. You can get a great view from town but nothing can beat getting up close for a different perspective.
Our driver Joe was informative - no question, historical, botanical, geographical, beat him. He was also funny and obliging to stop for photo opportunities.
Our Scenic Rim tour went up Schnelby Road, which is unpaved for most of its route and the jeep was necessary - low pressure tires tried to soften the ride but it's still pretty bumpy. As Joe said, it's a road for jeeps and rental cars!
The views are stunnig and my mum nameda few new rock formations! Best thing on our trip so far!

This is a "must do" while you're in Sedona. Our pink jeep tour was the highlight of our trip to Sedona. Our 2 hour "broken arrow" tour got us into the back country of Red Rock National Park. We saw a lot of cool rock formation and the views were breath taking. I've never been "4-wheeling" before so this was a great experience.
Pink Jeep is the most established tour company in the area. I would definitely check them out!

Hey!
My family and I went on the "Diamondback Gulch" tour today with the Pink Jeep Tours.
Our tourguide was Jay, and he was great. Obviously he knew a ton about the area after having done extensive training and his own research in the area. He moved here from north of philly and fell in love with being outside climbing, hiking and camping, so he was fun to have as a guide. He was easy to talk to, funny, knowledgeable and outgoing.
My family is not exactly avid outdoor explorers. My dad was NOT psyched about this tour, but even he had a great time. We went deep into a gulch, quite the bumpy ride, and then had to climb out the other side. Some of the other tours take you up to higher elevations, but this is good for those that are afraid of heights (read: my Dad). There were some breathtaking views of the Red Rocks and the scenery. Although we were promised wildlife, there were only a few birds and rabbits to be seen.
You shouldn't miss this! Was quite a highlight of this vacation. And if you happen to get Jay, you are in for a treat.

Our tour guide Michael was amazing! The tour took us back into some Canyon (I can't remember exactly which tour we took), and our guide was super friendly and informative. And he had a sense of humor which is always a big plus. I would do this again in a heart beat!
Holy hell I am a wimp.
I can travel alone, I can speak to large crowds, I can write a dissertation, I can run for miles and miles, and I am in general a big girl.
But some moments on this Broken Arrow tour made me want to cry. We're talking STEEP hills and FAST turns and BIG cliffs. I think I remember a point where I firmly stated that I wanted out, and I meant it. Granted that was maybe 5 minutes out of an otherwise awesome and safe-feeling 90 minutes. But still. Those 5 minutes were NOT fun to me.
All told, the other people in the jeep were laughing and screaming in that "fun" way, and my mom, bless her heart, wasn't scared at all. Nor seemed to be some other folks who were at least 40 years older than me. And it DOES seem to be the only way to really get out and see what was some terrific scenery. Jeff, our tour guide, was nothing but responsible and fun and informative and funny, all without being kitchy or annoying --a tall order when it comes to managing we tourists. And to be fair, he did sit me in the front seat with him which is allegedly the least scary seat in the Jeep. But like my mom said at the end of the day, there were moments where she swore I was going to hit him.
To be honest, I'd do it again, and heartily recommend it to others. And we took the trip up with them from Phoenix, too, which was worth the extra money. That ride is comfortable and makes the trip a breeze, with plenty of time to tour Sedona before the Jeep ride.
But still. If you hate roller coasters and airplanes and other sudden-injury or traumatic impact scenarios like I do, might wanna brace yourself. Or medicate yourself. Or warn poor Jeff to stick you in the back so you don't slug him.
I didn't, but I wanted to.

This is a great tour if you aren't that adventurous and you would like to be...However if you are that adventurous you should rent a "stinger" or a dune buggy and take it on the trails without a guide. It's way more hard core!

One of the touristy must-dos if you're in Sedona.
I took the Broken Arrow tour, which is the most thrilling and involves the steepest ups and downs in the Jeep. Our knowledgeable guide stopped at several scenic spots so that we could get out and get some photos of the gorgeous red rocks.
The photo of the Jeep at a 45-degree angle on their website was taken on this Broken Arrows tour. I would have preferred going down the rocks at higher than .5 miles per hour, but I can only imagine the lawsuits. :)
All in all, an excellent way to spend a few hours around Sedona.

So I see no one has reviewed the Grand Canyon tour--well, here goes:
Jamie and I paid $155 each for this touristy ride(includes lunch at El Tovar lodge, which I'll review later and separately)...I thought we would be going off-road, through the pine forests...alas, we only stuck to the pavement--something we've done several times and could have done on our own, but it was still an amazing tour and well worth the money, for the bits that we probably never would have found on our own, and our very knowledgable, and funny, guide.
'Smokey' or 'Smokedog' picked us up at our hotel bright and early, 7:30am, to begin the 11-hour adventure. we climbed into the jeep and met the rest of our group(3 dizzy, HILARIOUS old ladies who said the darndest things throughout the day).
we started by heading up Highway 89A, north, through Oak Creek Canyon and the Switchback mountains. now, if you know nothing about this road, I don't want to scare you away from it...but if you're faint of heart, don't like enormous heights or sheer cliffs with low or no railings...this road is NOT for you. in fact, it's not for me, either...but I hadn't thought about the route when I booked the tour. oops. you should have seen how antsy I was when Smokey stopped at the curve at the very top of the Switchbacks...where you can see out over Oak Creek Canyon--a bowl 9000 feet deep, filled with pine trees...the pictures I took look as if I'd taken them from a helicopter.
anyway, we drove through Flagstaff, stopped at a mediocre little hippie cafe(where I got a gingerbread man, and Jamie got a fairly good chorizo burrito that he had to heat up himself)...and then on through the pine forests, with a powdering of snow in the distance, on the San Francisco Peaks...it was pretty damn cold--probably around 38 degrees, tops, and Smokey kept it pretty nippy inside the jeep, as well...luckily he had blankets, we had snacks, and he showed us an awesome DVD detailing the history of mules and the Grand Canyon(did you know that you can ride a mule down into the Canyon and stay at a little camp at the bottom that has been there since the early 1900s? we got to see that bunch of cottages through a tele-lens, when we were at the Canyon)...
we made a stop in Tusayana, a little trading post where I caught up on a bit of Christmas shopping and had a close encounter with a spider...
once at the Canyon, we had one scenic view, and then Jamie and I parted ways from the rest of our group to have lunch at El Tovar Lodge...
once rejoined, we headed to the east side of the south rim, where we saw views we'd never seen before, headed up to the 'Tower', stopped in their gift shop, and saw even more breathtaking views that varied greatly from the usual south rim view...hills and plateaus...green grass, abandoned copper mines...
after this, we drove about 40 minutes south, to Cameron, on Navajo land...we saw amazing gorges, sheep camps, wild horses...incredible.
after this, it gets a little fuzzy, since most everyone(except Smokey) fell asleep all the way through Flagstaff, while watching a fascinating film about the original river 'runners'--crazy stuff. then it was back through the Switchbacks and Oak Creek, and the end of our trip.
now Jamie and I know for next time where to start our own adventures, what roads to take, and then we'll be off on a tangent, probably out in Navajo country :)
Post Script: Jamie just informed me that, on our receipt from the tour, our guide's actual name was "Smoki".
This is what makes a trip to Sedona. Do the broken arrow tour with Pink Jeep, you will not be disappointed! It was a blast, great guide, friendly service, and if you mention you are a repeat customer - you get a discount. Do not pass this up if you are in Sedona!
My husband and I were in Sedona this past week. We loved the Pink Jeep, Broken Arrow tour. I would recommend it.
i will definetly do this again, many times!! it was a gorgeous trip... we got rained on, hailed on, then the sun came out.. i guess thats Arizona weather for ya... the ride was frightening, which we loved, and we always felt safe!!! the "Road to No Return" was awesome! i loved this tour. Daniel, our guide, was very informative, and funny too!! definetly worth doing!
P.S. be wary... if you have been thinking about getting a jeep, this will solidify the idea...
Great! Well done and the best of the Jeep companies. The tour on Broken Arrow was way cool! I wheel as a sport and know a good trail. The guide we had was Joe. He was killer with his knowledge, skill, and humor. We took the 2 hour tour which was well laid out and had just enough fun for first time Jeep people. The location was lovely and the jeeps were very well set up. If you miss this you have missed a great part of Sedona! Do this trip!
I had to update this for one important comment. The tour guide was keen to point out a Tread Lightly policy related to 4x4 trips and driving. As a member of the Tread Lightly group - (look it up) I take this as a serious and important point and was surprised and pleased this company mentioned it on the trip. All out door sports, even hiking, will damage the environment if you don't take good care. And frankly hikers should be grateful trails are kept open so rescue teams can drive out and save them when they get hurt. So don't think green means no use! And this company as all others should maintain equal access to the places we like to visit and see. So, as this is my chance to spout off about it, now go and enjoy the world!

Real men drive pink jeeps. Real men drive pink jeeps and can tell you the history of the Sedona in their sleep. (Sedona does not mean anything in any Native American language. It's the name of a white lady from Missouri) Real men drive pink jeeps and can tell you all sorts of random facts involving Arizona plants and alcoholic beverages. (Agaves are succulents, not cacti. It is used to make tequila. Prickly pear cactus fruits are often used in margaritas.) I love me some real men.
While in Sedona, we splurged and signed up for the Broken Arrow/Scenic Rim tour (3 hours/$105). Our driver/guide, Tom, was awesome. He was funny without being cheesy, knowledgeable without being condescending, and yeah, totally skewed the tour to appeal to our alcoholic tendencies. He was also very patient when our Asian tendencies to take a bajillion pictures (with and without flashing the peace sign) came roaring out.
If you're stretched for money/time, take the Broken Arrow tour (2 hours/$75). You won't be disappointed.

Fun and worth the $100 once. The broken arrow tour is fun and exciting with many opportunities to feel like a real off road adventure. We took our 18 month old she loved it! They supplied the carseat. The staff was very friendly and the driver was expertly trained.
A MUST-DO if you visit Sedona and don't have any major health problems that would make a bumpy, jolty ride impossible. The tourguides are knowledgeable and friendly, and they'll take you out to vantages you would never be able to get to yourself.
Ever been surrounded by red rock, snow-capped mountains (we went in December), and pristine skies? Yeah, thought not. Check it out! We did the Broken Arrow Trail, which ran us about 100$, including a tip for our guide.

i loved the jeep tour! our guide was steve. ask for him, he knows everything about sedona including geology, botony, and zoology!
Pink Jeep Tours has been in businss for the longest out of all the jeep tours in Arizona. Therefore, they have the license for the best trails. I went on the Scenic Trail and it was breathtaking.
For the ladies, make sure you wear a sports bra because the jeep ride is very bouncy.

If you visit Sedona do not pass up going on a Pink Jeep tour. It was one of the best parts of our visit. Our tour guide really knew his stuff about the history of the area. Fascinating and absolutely stunning scenery.
Very touristy but totally fun. I liked the bummy steep road home the best but admit that it's not for everyone and wished that the guide was a little more lead footed but insurance policies and lawsuits probably keep them in check on that. I would do it just once to know it. It's only a 2 hour trip and although you can go it alone in a private jeep, there are lots of steep and deep points in the road that could easily cause a less confident or experienced driver to get stuck, or even worse flip over.

This was worth the trip to Sedona, AZ in itself! I went with a large group of friends and we couldn't stop laughing. Our tour guide stopped along the way to explain things to us and allow us to take photos. It was absolutely breathtaking! This is an absolute MUST on your "to do" list in Sedona!
If you sit in the back, you will have the bumpiest ride!

Took the combo Broken Arrow/Scenic Rim tour last weekend. Although Scenic Rim portion was enjoyable, the Broken Arrow was definitely the highlight even though it was much bumpier. I'll repeat what other yelpers have mentioned: Gorgeous views, knowledgeable tour guides, getting up close to the red rocks.
One thing I would add is that if the weather is questionable at all when you depart for your tour, BRING a sweater/windbreaker and/or wear long pants. The ride is bumpy but can also be windy, and it can get chillier in the mountains. I was freezing in shorts during our tour and wouldn't wish that on anyone else. It's probably different in the heat of the summer but just keep this in mind if you're going during another time.

My sisters and I enjoyed the Broken Arrow Tour this morning. We had decided to go with Pink Jeep Tours after reading reviews on Yelp. Our driver, Joe, was informative and great fun. We would definitely go on another tour with Pink Jeep.
Taking a Pink Jeep Tour gives you views of Sedona you'd probably never get to see otherwise. The tour guides are very fun and knowledgable. I've been on the Broken Arrow and Diamondback Gulch tours and loved them both. The next one I'm going on will be the Broken Arrow/Scenic Rim combo. The tours are kind of expensive but worth every penny!
Pink Jeep is the oldest of all the jeep tours in Sedona and is a good way for you to get up close and personal with the cool terrain around the town. I went on the Scenic Rim/Broken Arrow combo tour (which was something like $110 per person). Occasionally you get to go up and down some San Francisco grade pitches on rocky bumpy roads which is pretty awesome, and the guides seem friendly. The tours are expensive though - I felt like it was a mistake to do the combo tour - most of the fun was in the broken arrow portion (i.e. doing driving stunts that you can ONLY do in something like a jeep) whereas the scenic rim portion was mostly just driving around on a dirt road, and plus they only take you up halfway, unlike the scenic rim standalone tour. Anyway, fun tours overall, but after a whlie the thrills start to feel a little few and far between.

This is a "must do" in Sedona according to the guide books, everyone you talk to, and yelpers. I didn't care for it. The views were pretty, but there are a lot of ways to get good views in Sedona (hiking, horseback riding, just driving down the road, honestly). It was too "off road" to be comfortable, but not off road enough to be thrilling. I don't really get the appeal.

A really fun ride! We took the early morning tour on Christmas Eve and it was really cold! Dress warm and you'll have a great time! The guides are really enthusiastic and excited to be there. Definitely worth two hours of your trip!

Did the Broken Arrow tour. Our tour guide was very knowledgable. It was beautiful and totally fun! The non-pink, "civilian" jeeps following us were crazy; don't try this at home. The tour guide was great and I totally recommend. It was a little expensive, and was supposed to be 2 hours, and was about 1.75 hours. But, fun times!
Awesome. I hate touristy stuff, but the Broken Arrow tour is like once in a lifetime type adventure. A perfect compliment to the hiking the trails.
My friends and I went on a girls trip to Arizona, the pink jeep tour waas awesome. Our guide was very cool, stopped for pitctures, explained the surroundsings, we did the Diamon Back Gulch tour, it was bumpy and fun and I would do it again in a heart beat - don't forget to look for SNOOPY and have a prickly pear margarita when you are done!!
