My husband and I enjoy Pilo Arts... so much that we recently moved all the way out to LIC and are still making the trip for this place.
Is it the warm reception: attentive reception desk, actual coat check, then asked what you would like to drink... (i've had everything from mimosas to cappuccinos while my husband has enjoyed a scotch)
Or is it the A+ stylings of their hair dressers? (I love the way I look and feel by the time I leave this joint)
...I'm not going to decide. Will you?
first of all u walk in and are greeted by a desk full of young women that are ready to help u! I had my hair done for my anniversary at the pilo spa. The lady asked me what i was wearing and what kind of place i was going to (very professional) then i told her i my vision and she gave it a twist and voila i looked so pretty!
also they do LCN gel nails which is the best gel out there.
This is supposed to be the premiere place to go??? My fiance gave me a gift card and I was really disappointed. Mostly because the woman who gave me a facial didn't even know what facial I was supposed to get and literally criticized my skin the entire time. Hello?! That's why I'm getting a facial!!! She was extremely rough and left me all red and blotchy. They also don't have any working lockers. I kept my bag with me the entire time and changed in the room. It was not a relaxing experience and I wouldn't go back.
Let me start off as I was a hairdresser in NYC before I became a baby popper. It is really hard for me to trust anyone to cut my hair. I went to this salon, I loved it the ambiance was nice. I had Athena cut my hair. She knows what she is doing. If you could go in to Brooklyn, I definitely recommend this place.
Yes, yes yes YESSSS. As a recent transplant to Brooklyn I was in need of somewhere to get my hair permanently straightened - it was time to touch up the Japanese hair straightening done to my unruly mess and I could not find hardly anywhere in Brooklyn to do it. The few salons I talked to were rude or snooty but the staff at Pilo was very friendly on the phone. I spent about four hours with Tony today and left with completely perfect straight hair. I can honestly say it was the best job ANYONE has ever done using the Japanese straightening technique on my hair. Tony was lovely, funny, and friendly and the staff at Pilo was extremely nice. In six months when it's time for more touchups you can bet I will go nowhere else but here. Highly recommend!
