This is a great place to sign up if you a busy body (like me) always running around and cant figure out a time to get your workouts in. The online scheduling is so easy its just clicks away from you getting the exact appointment date and time that convenient for me. AND my favorite i get to choose who my instructor will be. What i like about choosing who I want to work out with it gives me a chance to explore and see which intructor is best suitable for my "style" of Pilates. Let's face it not everyone gets along with every trainer.

I like this place for its fast, easy, no pressure yet it makes you commit.

Bought an online deal for Pilates Plus a little while back and I finally got around to using it.  They have a variety of class times that fit nicely into my schedule.  The teachers I took class from seemed knowledgeable and friendly.

If they do another online deal, I may purchase it and return.  However, their regular (non-Groupon) prices do not fit into my budget.  Thank you for an overpriced 40 minute workout.

Well, I used my Groupon special.  5 classes for 55$ which is a super deal.  I had never tried any of the Pilates Plus studios and this was my first.  I liked it.  40 minutes makes the time go by really fast.  The change in routine/exercises keeps you busy and unable to get bored.

I am not sure I had any results however or felt like it changed my body or would.  But, that may be because I am in pretty good shape and workout a lot at the gym and go to classes there.  I am also a Bar Method fan which I think gives better results.  But, this is different and kinda fun too.

The instructors have awesome fitness going on!

This is great for someone who has a mainly cardio workout and wants to add some toning.

Pricey though.  If it were not for the promotion, I would not have bought a package of 5.  If they have another promotion, I may try again for some change in routine

I've been taking Pilates for a few years and was looking for a new studio.  On a recommendation from my neighbor (who has gotten excellent results), I signed up for the unlimited month at Pilates Plus Montrose and attended 8 classes with 5 different instructors.

My biggest complaint?  This is NOT Pilates:  this is weight training.  Is weight training a great way to tone muscles?  Absolutely.  But I didn't pay for weight training.  Shame on me for not doing more research.  And shame on them for pretending they offer Pilates classes.

Looking in the window, you can see that group classes of 10 are on specialized machines that look kind of like reformers, but aren't reformers.  Students performing the same exercise do them quite differently, and are obviously working different muscle groups as a result.  In the classes I attended, instructors rarely corrected anyone's form.  For the most part, the instructors are friendly, but I'm not impressed by the training the instructors receive in this franchise.  Of the 5 instructors I worked with, 4 barely MENTIONED form.  The workout you can expect is 30 seconds on each exercise - minimal reps with a lot of weight.  Anyone who has actually done Pilates knows that a lot of weight makes it nearly impossible to keep your form, so maybe it's better that they ignore it all together.  Compared to a real Pilates class, the ab work was minimal.

I'm not arguing that weight training doesn't get results, but Pilates Plus misrepresents their curriculum. I wanted Pilates - so I signed up for "Pilates Plus."  If I wanted weight training, I'd sign up for "Weight Training Plus."  Basically, this entire franchise is false advertising.  If you want to teach weight training, then own it.  Don't pretend to be something your not just because Pilates is a buzz-word.  For anyone who's into Pilates, this isn't the place you want to go.

I have maintained a 40 pound weight loss and I officially hit a plateau with my body a few months ago. I did everything and anything I could at the gym and my body just did not respond to any of it. At the advice of a friend, I started Pilates in November and WOW!! Talk about results!!!
This is truly the first work out that I have noticed the physical changes in my own body. Its awesome!
Pilates Plus (in Montrose) has improved the way I look and feel. All of the instructors are amazing, fun and attentive.
I think my only complaint would have to be... the price. But hey you get what you pay for! Trust me I am not rich or even close, but I make sure that I budget for Pilates! If it means I forgo a few nights out and an outfit or two, so be it. YES, its that good!

Wow! I can't believe it's been so long since I have Yelp!. So here I go with my ever so candid review. Enjoy!

Anyone up for torture devices??? Yep, this is the new and improved version of the old school days where people were put on machines that put your body through hell....THIS bad baby is just the "modern" version. So step right up cause the classes get full real quick!

(Speaking of which I can't take credit  that I actually came up with the name "torture device". My dear friend Chas actually was the one who said to me, " Really? Pilates? Isn't that where they use those torture devices?" I of course nodded emphatically, "Yes, I guess that's one way of seeing it."

But seriously everyone, this studio with their wonderfully high energetic instructors has made this experience rewarding. The workout is intense to say the least, but what makes this a sweet victory for everyone who partakes in this adventure are the modifications that allows everyone a chance to work at their own ability. The instructors candidly respect the different levels and you can adjust the weight and intensity for your body. I enjoy that they watch your form as well and adjust as much as they can with the given amount of people in the class - 10.

I have only been at it for a month, and while my weight hasn't change I can see considerable differences in my legs looking fit and less "chunky" as well as a more firm and slimmer waistline. People at work have even commented on my "supposed" weight loss.

I am looking forward to seeing what month two will entail and can honestly say for someone who gets loss in the stagnant energy I created myself and the hectic moments of city life this place really has brought me back to a commitment for a healthier fitter body.

    Side Note:

    1. They have the classes online so it makes it so much easier to sign-up and see the schedules by the minute literally! Having something that internet savvy allows me to plan my days accordingly without making phone calls and what not.

    2. If you happen to take a class, the spots near the wood pillars bite. If there isn't another opening then make do, but if the class has exercises that require the back platform you might find the pillar to be in your way. Sometimes it is and sometimes it isn't for me.

    3. This is a PLUS studio so the workout is different from the standard pilates. But it does incorporate the basic principles, with resistance metal coil bands and a quick cardio.

Oh yeah I actually like the exercises btw and I have practiced floor/mat work for almost 2 years awhile back  :)

Pilates Plus is awesome! Today was my first time and I have never been worked that much in a 40 minute workout! I am so sore right now, but it feels great! I will definitely be back!  :)

If you are going for the first time, bring a towel and a water bottle.  Wear light weight clothes and prepare to sweat.

I had taken one Pilates course while in Hawaii last year and thought it was something I would enjoy, so I finally made the commitment to try Pilates Plus.

Claire, I agree with you this is not what I expected either, I have never weight trained so I don't know about that.  I consider this Pilates on steroids. I think it is a great workout and after several months have noticed a difference.

I find each of the instructors very helpful and reassuring.  They certainly spend a lot of time correcting my form ;-)

This studio is da bomb!  Really simple, welcoming and FUN!  My instructor Amy was great, she really focused on form and did a great job of staying on top of everyone in class.  It was my first session and I found it to be a lot more fun than traditional Pilates.  It was a terrific 40 minute workout that flew by.  It's true this is not traditional pilates, but you will sweat, strengthen your core, strengthen your whole body and enjoy it!

Still continues to be great and actually, even BETTER than when I first started attending.  Still can't believe I used to spend 2 hours at the gym and never got the results (not even close!) that I got doing these 40 minute classes.  If you are still spending money on a gym , try this and you'll never go back!

A really great studio, always clean. Great instructors, especially Amy and Syd. A hard workout that made me sweat my booty off, and that's the point. I hope I will be able to make some more classes, or that there will be a studio near me someday in the Pasadena area!

I have done all kinds of workouts and I have to say that I have been going to Pilates Plus Montrose for a while now and  I love it. The instructors are friendly and super helpful.  The classes there have changed my body, I have never been so lean and tone!  In my opinion if you looking for a great workout without it being high impact, go visit Pilates Plus Montrose.

Awesome. You will sweat and love it. Aerobics & personal training meet the reformer and Pilates. Best workout I've ever had. This will definitely keep you motivated and in shape. Bonus it's fun!

I love pilates plus. The instructors kick butt. I'm happy. Just wish they were in Burbank. I won't go to a regular gym anymore. Between spinning and pilates plus this is all i need. Worth every penny:)
