9 reviews for Pietro's Pizza
I grew up in the small town of Poulsbo, WA. When I was a child the best pizza in town was Pietro's Pizza. I was having a fond childhood memory of going to this pizza joint and having a pepperoni pizza and drinking root beer. So I ran a google search and found that they still had 3 locations in Oregon. I was excited so I sent the corporate an e-mail and they told me it was the same pizza that I remember as a child. They also said if I printed out the e-mail I could get 20% off. Which was a sweet deal.
My girlfriend and I went to Portland, OR for the memorial day weekend so we stopped by and got a pizza. It was the same bubbly crust pizza that was crispy on the bottom. PIzza was delicious I would recommend a visit.
It's meant for the kids with arcade games and a setup for childrens parties but pizza is good if you don't mind the higher level of background noise.
So in Summary.
Pizza: Awesome
This is what I call a "Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde" kinda place!
I mean, Pietro's is one thing on a weekday lunch, it's quite another on a weekend night.
Weekday Lunch? Peitro's is a nice laid-back, small town, pizza spot. Mostly enjoyed by various working people.
Weekend Dinner? Peitro's is crawling with crazy kids who eat pizza and play the video games. One tip, the game tokens add up quick! $$$ It's clearly kid heaven on a Saturday night!
The pizza is great! It's a crunchie crust with nice toppings. Our fellow YeLPer, Alex "Jandito" S., says this is "Oregon" style pizza. I think he is correct-O!
Their lunch special is a small pizza, salad bar and drink... $6.50 I'd give the salad bar a "B". Not bad.
One warning... Their small pizza is pretty small, you may need something larger.
The building is much bigger than most fast food joints, which makes it kinda cool and more relaxing. It's a great escape from work!
This place is old school - reminds me of the pizza I used to eat in the 80's. But that can be a good thing! It is a nice departure from all the gourmet pizza joints in Portland. Fun environment for kids. Good service. Classic salad bar.
Continuing to have our grandkids (10 of them) birthday parties here. Great thin crust pizza. Everything consistent including the pizza and salad bar and wine. Kids love the games and they have added some new ones. Always a great time here that the kids will remember the rest of their lives. Brought my son and daughter here when they were 5 and 6. and now they 43 and 42, so this is a real family traditional place and everything is the same as it was in 1972.

I first started eating Pietro's pizza in college in the early 60's going to their Eugene and Salem… Read more »
In my continuing quest to find more places that bake Oregon Style Pizza (thin, bubbly crust, cracker bottom), I have finally found another gem in the Milwaukee area in Pietro's. Granted, I didn't want to believe in this place because of its other chains, this version of Pietro's is a completely different animal from its major Salem location.
The pizza is good. Each slice is light, complete with a tangy sauce and a bubbly crust. The cheese was just right and the toppings were baked firmly into each slice. Their large wasn't enough for my group of 4 as it was devoured almost too quickly. It seems the Pietro's in Salem has bigger pies.
The restaurant itself is reminiscent of Papa's Pizza Parlor on Stark. It's got a massive space with lots of parking, plenty of tables for groups, and a stellar arcade selection. And with a bowling alley next door, this is a prime family destination for good pizza and fun.
I dated someone who lived in Milwaukie and the day I was introduced to Pietro's - was one of that happiest food days of my life.
The pizza is so good. Crispy but still moist without a lot of sauce or overwhelming toppings.
There's also a fun arcade if you've got kids - or you're a kid at heart?!
As stated in the other reviews, the pizza is some of the best around. I crave it regularly.
The atmosphere is very cool. Red velvet wallpaper, clean, large enough for big events. However, I would give 5 stars if it weren'y so expensive. The video games ar a QUARTER for EACH play!!! Unbelievable. Also, and I don't know if they've changed the policy or not (it's been a while since I've been there) but they had a no refill rule at the soda fountain. And the employee's watch it like a hawk. Give me a break.
But despite all that, the food and atmosphere give it a stellar ranking. If you bring the whole family, expect to live on Top Ramen for the next week 'cause it's going to cost a fortune.
I wanna give this place a 3.5 because the sauce is bland like dude that is going to host the NYE on tv this year...Carson. BUT! The crust is magic. It takes you back in time. Back when pizza was all time Queen with Arcade games as King. Its thin, crispy and bubbly air. Its a west coast Round table/ Straw Hat/ Chuck e cheese feel that I miss. Das good if it had a better sauce. any pizza sauce. Prego sauce even.
The place is old school which is a plus. I am not a local so I don't know the wonderful past. They probably painted the walls white and sold out like all other classic 80's pizza spots. I am more of a dark, boothy , yellow lighted , fake wood wall guy.
The arcade selection is weak with Slow Ms.Pac man and crappy racing games. Ground Kontrol takes care of all that.
Little kids and depressing parents make Pietros a non-first date place.
When I was there the place was a mess and it was not even busy. Damn teen staff. Clean the damn place.
But the crust! It gets a 4 star.
Just like the other reviewers say, the pizza is some of the best around!
...in Milwaukie. Which ain't saying much.
Pietro's Pizza has the ... distinction ... of having the most middle-America style salad bar I have encountered outside of actual middle America. Potato salad? Check. Bean salad? Check! Jello salad? Oh yeah, that's a check. Pudding? Check!
This is arcade-joint pizza. It's edible. It is not, by any means, gourmet. But if you're eating at Pietro's, you're not across the street at Chan's. And that's a very good thing.
