If there is one thing that I will miss about Chicagoland food, its Piero's Stuffed Pie. Oh, yes, some may swear by Malnati's or Pizzeria Uno or Giordano's ,etc.. but we had a BLIND Stuffed Pizza Tasta-Thon and Piero's took the gold. Between Piero's, Malnati's, Giordano's, Ferrentino's, Uno's and Gino's....(all take-out on the same night, all cheese only for fairness sake) eight brave men faced down the mozzarella challenge and came out a few pounds heavier but secure in the knowledge that Piero's is where pizza dreams lie.
Next Piero's mission.....the Italian Beef stuffed pie. This, of course, after another month at the gym to work off some of the tasty goodness. (I like to eat my pizza, not wear it around my mid-section) -

So, this place is apparently famous for their Deep Dish in the area. I've never actually had it. I've tried the Pan and Thin crust, with varied toppings. Even the Pan pizza is far too deep for me. I've really no complaints, except that I can't stop reaching for my next slice. They have coupons on the local Jewel receipts if you like to save a few bucks. I've had the calzone too, but I regret all that cheese in approximately 20 minutes.
I seem to have some gluten issues and I was told they have a gluten free option, which I will definitely try next time and will update my review accordingly! -

C'mon Highland Parkers (Parkians)? You can't say you're from Chicago and think this is anything other than average pizza.
We ordered from here one night because it's one of the only places that's open -- and delivers -- past 8 pm in the neighborhood. So bonus points for that.
Other bonus points for being able to pick and choose crust (extra thin, thin, focaccia, pan or stuffed) and sauce (olive oil, regular pizza sauce, marinara sauce, bbq sauce, garlic spread).
We ordered two thin crust pizzas. One with olive oil base and lots of veggies -- spinach, tomatoes, sun dried tomatoes, basil and gorgonzola (because they don't have goat cheese). The other was with red sauce, sausage, mushrooms, tomatoes and basil.
The veggie pizza was much, much better than the meat pizza. It was even better heated up the next day. The sausage was greasy and I'm sure the mushrooms were of the canned variety.
Compared to other pizza in Chicago, it wasn't anything special. Sure, it's better than Papa John's or Domino's, but not exactly Pat's Pizza, Gino's, Giordano's or any other Chicago standout. I can see that if you add too many ingredients to the thin crust it will get soggy.
I'm sure that certain crusts are better than others. I'm certain that we will order from here again, but seriously Highland Parkers...time to expand your pizza horizons! -

My family has been ordering from Piero's since the 90's. I was just back at home for Christmas and had the Piero's Special twice in 7 days. People who say the sauce is bland must be used to very over-seasoned pies. Piero's has the perfect balance of sweet and tangyness in their sauce. Frankly, I can't speak too much about their thin crust, but you'd have to be a crazy person not to order the deep dish.

Best Pizza Joint in CHICAGO or the suburbs. The Spinache blended with the cheese is sooooo good. The Pan PIzza, Thin Crust, Stuffed and Spezza are all soo good for different reasons but the SAUCE is what sets this place apart.
Our Go To's (usually get all our pies well done)
Spinach + Black Olive
Spinach + Sausage
Spinach + Mushroom
Spinach + Onion
Mushroom + Sausage
Spinach, Mushroom, Onion
Spinach Mushroom, onion sausage
When getting a pan or stuffed crust, careful not to order too many veggies as it may get soupy in there with all the cheese and veggies cooking for so long. -

Ordered 2 personal pizzas for delivery over the weekend. We both ordered the thin crusts. My girlfriend thinks her pizza is one of the best Chicago pizzas she ever ate! My pizza was good, but not great. The delivery was quick and the food was hot when it was delivered. We would certainly order again.

We order this pizza at least 2x month. 1/2 spinach and 1/2 sausage thin crust. I like that you can taste the sauce and while it's on the cheesier side, it's not tooo cheesy. The spinach salad with peppers, cheese and balsamic is quite tasty as well!

My husband loves the pizza at Piero's... which is quite plain. They DO offer more generous meat toppings than many places. Especially the Canadian bacon.
Their calzone's are sinful - probably 1.5 pounds of cheese inside a crust. What were you expecting? Basil? Oregano? Nope - just oily goop.
The Salads, - during the two out of three times I've eaten there... a Disaster!!
Tonight - for NINE BUCKS- I received 3 ounces of lettuce with ONE TOMATO slice and... well... a slice of olive or white onion here and there.
Disgusting near-wilted lettuce. SO LAME.
And I wouldn't have yelped it - except for the fact that they don't have a Contact Us section on their website.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. -

Piero's is one of my favorites. For some reason I always forget about this place, but whenever I'm visiting the parents and I mention pizza my dad will want it from Piero's. They have excellent deep and thin crust and they even offer whole wheat crust. It's not the most affordable pizza, but the quality is top notch. My only complaint would be that there have been a few times where I've come here and had to wait for my order to finish cooking even though I came after the time that they told me it would be ready.

I have lived in North and Southside Chicago. I have lived all over the world and the country and this is my favourite pizza of any pizzas anywhere. Seriously. The only reason I'm taking away a star is that -- handy as it is for neighbourhood pick up -- without a dining room it's a toughie for me now that I travel in from out of town.
Friendly service. Loads of yum packed in. Perfect crust. Awesome toppings. By far the best Chicago Style pizza I've ever had. I pick it up when I make the trek in to Ravinia from California. A picnic must-have. A sunday night movie night must-have. For a pizza love, this is a must-try, must-enjoy pizza. Make the trip. -

I had stuffed pizza and it was good. It reminded me of Giordano's, but maybe thicker. The sauce was really good, not too tart or sour, lots of flavor. Not giving it the full 5 stars though, 'cause I'm partial to a corn meal type crust (like at Gino's East !).
If you don't care for corn meal crust, you can take this review as a 5 then. -

A friend of mine who grew up in Highland Park contends that Piero's makes the best Chicago pan pizza, period. During a long weekend trip this was the only time that I ate the one slice meal that people from Chicago call pizza. Seriously anyone who is lactose intolerant or on a diet, need not apply. The pizza was great but I will wait to bump up a star once I come back and eat some deep dish in the city in order to be a little bit more objective. Also watch out when you are looking for Piero's pizza online, because there is another one in Wilmette that you do not want to confuse.

This is my local take-out only joint down the street from me. On nice days, I walk down to pick up my pipping hot Chicago-style pizza. Their spinach is fresh, their mushrooms, tasty, and they offer whole wheat crust and low fat cheese. The whole wheat crust, while healthier, overpowers the taste of the ingredients, so I recommend their standard crust. And, of course, the fattier mozzarella cheese tastes better too than the oddly textured low-fat cheese. But, if you want to sacrifice taste for reduced guilt, go ahead--this is the place. I believe they also have gluten free crust (if you must live without).
The pizza is good, no doubt about that. Not the absolute best Chicago style pizza I've had, but up in the top quartile. And for thin crust, I'd take a wood-fired pizza joint over Piero's (check out Il Ritrovo in Sheboygan, WI if you ever head up to Door County). BUT, check out their often overlooked Italian Beef. Order it with melted cheese, hot peppers and sweet peppers. The peppers come melted in the cheese. It's the best around, and massive. Polish it off yourself if you're hungry, or split it if you're not. What sets it apart is that they don't overcook the beef. It's tender and juicy. Dip it in Au Jus, and you have a winner! I give the Italian Beef a five. -

The Spinach Pan Pizza is my favorie pizza in all of Illinois. I have had it at this location, as well as the Northbrook location a few times and it is always top-notch. The pan pizza resembles more of a deep-dish style pizza with the thick crust and the sauce on top. The spinach has a delicious garlicy-ness to it that is just amazing. If I lived closer, I would eat this pizza every week instead of a couple of times per year.

The best pizza....ever! I have a stupid gluten allergy and this heaven sent place has a gluten free crust so I no longer have to heat up my crappy frozen Amy's when the hubs wants a pizza...I just order my own.
The sauce is delicious, the cheese to sauce to dough ratio is perfect and they know how to cook it so that the crust is crispy and chewy at the same time and the cheese is bubbly and golden. Mmmmm, yummy. -

Based solely on delivery of their stuffed pizza, with spinach and sausage, I can comfortably give this place 4 stars for food quality. Probably the best stuffed pizza I've had, at least among the top. While I am not the big pizza connoisseur that some people are, I can dig on a slice every now and again. This is, in my humble opinion , a destination pizza spot for me.

Gather round as I tell you the truth about Chicago deep dish pizza: it is usually better just outside the Chicago city limits. I don't know if it is the water or what, but I promise you will enjoy this pizza over most any other deep dish. The stuffed spinach is amazing and I don't know how many other places you can even order it.

I've eaten a hell of a lot of stuffed pizza in my nearly 3 decades of life on this rock we call Earth... and Piero's always wins, hands down. I used to bootleg it down to Louisiana when I was in college. It's great to see the look on people's faces when they've never seen stuffed pizza before; their eyes pop out because they've never seen a piece of pizza that thick in their lives. Anyway, this is well worth it if you're nearby. I haven't tried bringing Piero's to Ravinia, but that may be something I try this summer.

Piero's...I will always love you more than any other pizza in the whole world. I promise. And I make anyone that comes into town come to HP to prove to them that this is the truth. I love the deep dish cheese pizza. Perfection. Thin pizza is delish as well. Take out and delivery only.

I have been ordering stuffed pizza from here for almost 20years. They have the best stuffed pizza I have ever had, nobody even comes close. I worked at malanaties throughout high school and would give up free pizza for piero's stuffed.
SIMPLEY THE BEST PIZZA IN THE ORLD -

I fear that my stomach will usually rebel against stuffed pizza, but Pieros makes a FINE spinach/sausage pie if you are in the mood. Their sausage is garlicky and unbelievably tasty, the sauce is super fresh and in general, this place is delicious.
Highly recommended! -

If you're in the area and craving pizza, the only question you have to ask yourself is, "Piero's or Lou Malnati's?" In all honesty, both are amazing pizza places, each with their own unique taste. So try both, you won't be disappointed. Deep dish is the only way to go.

I wasn't expecting much when we ordered from here the first time, but it was close, so we figured we'd try. But oh, good lawd...! That is some good pizza. The sauce is fantastic, and they definitely don't skimp on the cheese. Mm-mm-mm. So tasty.

This 'za is one of the best on the North Shore! Order one for pickup or delivery and you won't be sorry. Yummo. (I'm 100% Italian!--no, I'm not a relative of Piero's)
