Pier 49 Pizza San Francisco Sourdough

Stopped in here yesterday for a quick bite while waiting for rush hour traffic to die down. The interior is nicely done and does feel a bit like San Francisco, sans graffiti.

We shared the Fisherman's Wharf pizza and it was excellent. No gritty cornmeal on the crust and the perfect amounts of soft and crispy in all the right places, good alfredo sauce and plenty of cheese. There could've been more shrimp but they made up for that with lots of 'surimi' crab. Just a fancy way of saying 'artificial' crab, but it almost looked real and tasted great.
Fresh toppings on quality pizza, one free refill on fountain drinks and friendly staff make this a nice little stopoff for lunch or dinner. $6.99 gets you a choice of any of their personal 8" pizzas, but next time I'll come earlier in the day to try out their lunch specials which seem an even better value.

Great pizza with unusual toppings and sauces. I've always enjoyed it. The only knock I have is that the by-the-slices sales end too early in the evening.
