So this was the first place I experienced Middle Eastern food. I used to think it was weird and smelly as I grew up a little picky about food. (I blame my mother) Thankfully I grew out of it with the help of my older sister. :D
I first experienced falafel here and frankly, I haven't been able to find a place that competes with theirs. Khaldoun, the owner became a good family friend over time. I haven't seen him in a while but he's absolutely fantastic and humble so do say hi if you ever visit. The ingredients are always fresh. My favorite is the grilled chicken falafel with chini peppers added. I'm also very fond of the pasta salads. Definitely a great lunch stop if you live in the area. Makes me long for Rhode Island. :(
This place does it right!
Had a hankering for something authenthically ethnic around here, and I went to Pick Pockets, for the fourth time, at least.
I found the place to be even better than it used to be.
My favorite thing to order here is the Falafel sandwhich. But they also have great wraps, and soups.
The falafel comes in a wrap, with a choice of toppings...but it is essentially the kind of Falafel I would expect.
The Chicken Ceasar wrap looked awesome, and I am having that next time.
I had the homemade tomato/basil soup, with chunks of tomato. Very tasty, a bit creamy but not heavy.
This could be the best 'real' food in this town. But. alas, they don't deliver.

Is it cold outside? If it is, get to Pick Pockets for some soups! Khaldoun, Kamal and Baha make all the soups fresh. Actually, everything there is fresh and home made. The salads, the falafel, the eggplant for the pick pockets... The salads are HUGE and both chicken salads rock the house. There is also great choices for the veggie eaters out there. The Grilled Veggie..... YUM!!!
Ok, thats enough. Just go there.
Oh and they used to ( i dont know if they still do) deliver to local businesses. Just in case you cant leave your office.
AND, the colder it gets.... the more soup choices there are! Potato Leek is the best. Ever.
Ok, really. I'm dont now.
try "the pick pocket". fresh mozzarella, fried eggplant, lettuce and a balsamic dressing on a roll up. i used to get it at least once a week with hot peppers on it in high school. all of their salads i have tried were good too. great place to go in the summertime post beach.

They no longer deliver, but they're still as good as it gets! No matter when or where I travel, upon arriving home my first craved meal is always Pick Pockets. Their chicken mozzarella wrap and jedra soup in the top ten of foods to eat on my last day on earth. What IS the secret to their silky tangy balsamic dressing, the marinated oomph of their grilled chicken??? Oh, that's right....it's the handmade love of fresh, simple ingredients expertly prepared by a trio of brothers (Khaldoun we miss you!!!). Add to that nice people and quick service and yes, we have a winner. Panera Bread recently opened across the street but the line is still out the door at Pick Pockets. Oh yeah, having a party? They'll cater!
