Picasso Salon & Day Spa
2 reviews for Picasso Salon & Day Spa
I originally tried Picasso about 7 years ago, when I received a gift card as a present. I was in the process of looking for a new person to cut my hair, because my lady at Gene Juarez had left, plus it was just getting too pricey for me!
Anyway, they suggested Natalie, and I have been with her ever since!! She does an amazing job layering my hair, and now knows my hair well enough that she knows what I like. She also colors my hair occasionally when I get the bug, and I usually have her do a partial foil. EXCELLENT work (for me it costs $95-ish) and definitely NO zebra stripes here! I HIGHLY suggest her.
The place is nice and homey and has everything a full service salon and spa does. I have had my eyebrows waxed there once, and honestly, I wasn't happy. I probably could have asked for my money back, but I didn't want to be a big whiner. The lady did offer to redo them if I didn't like them. I actually think the problem is that my eyebrows are pretty sparse to begin with, so there's not much to work with. Pretty pointless and a waste of money for me to try and wax them...dumb me!! I think in general, the waxing services would be great though. They have specific people for whatever service you're getting.
My haircut is now around $45...so it's definitely gone up in price, but that's because Natalie is a Master Stylist. It's definitely worth it! Bang trims are free, and she usually cleans up the framing layers around my face at the same time. Extremely great service there!
I have also had her do my hair for 2 formal occasions, and it's been great. I was always a little nervous to pay to get my hair done for formal events, worried that I would end up with something horrid. She is excellent! The end result was polished looking curls that looked professional, yet not helmet head...and definitely not a home job. She is my first choice for those fancy 'dos!
Random location right there behind Tacoma Mall, scary parking lot if it's full (it's on a really crazy hill) but completely worth it!
WOWZA !
This place is amazing , it's like an eclectic fun house of beauty ! First let's talk about the decor. Everything is shabby-chic/artsy. Every room has it's own theme. The director Sonia has decorated the whole place and has even done most of the artwork.
I went to get a color/hair cut. However they prefer the term ' hair artistry'
Celina did my hair , and did an amazing job. I have pretty thick hair,
she gave me some dark rich red peek-a-boo highlights, and a trendy
cut and sexy sweep away bangs. I totally let her do whatever she
wanted and I looked fabulous! It even came with a complimentary
hand paraffin wax. Totally loved the comfy experience! not to mention
the wonder scalp massage that comes with the wash ! wow I found
a new place !
