I'm part Thai (sort of), so yes I know how to pronounce Phuket correctly...but it still won't stop me from saying from pronouncing it the funnier American way....F**k It.

Anyway, when I worked in Queen Anne, this was a common lunch stop for me. Good and quick service, delicious and reasonably priced food. I will say Tup Tim Thai has better Thai food, but it's not open on Sundays and it tends to be more of a slower sit down environment.  So yeah Phuket is definitely another good option for Thai food in the area, especially during lunch.

Remember when the Dragon falls in love with the Donkey in Shrek? I always wondered, if Donkey burned his mouth every time it kissed the Dragon. Anyways, I definitely felt like that - my mouth was on fire after eating papaya salad at Phuket.

I typically can comfortably tolerate spicy Thai food, so I ordered the papaya salad with 3 stars and Tom Yum soup with 4. Soup was pretty good and had a nice kick in it, and thankfully I got to enjoy it with friends, before my salad arrived and numbed my taste buds for the remainder of the weekend. When I brought this matter to the attention of the staff, I was told that they put fresh chili peppers in the salad and dried ones in the soup. Silly me, I thought the scale 1-5 was for the overall spicy-ness of the food!

More on the subject of food - portions are quite generous (can easily be shared), food super cheap. Not a bad place for a quick bite, but forgive me for not coming back soon - my mouth got severe spice-burns after my first visit.

This is my fave Thai food restaurant in the city so far. Fresh ingredients, prompt service, and reasonably priced.

We got a 3 dish dinner combo for only ~$18. Chose the pad see ew, mint beef, and cashew chicken. Their pad see ew is prepared differently than most places, with a hint of spice and square noodles instead of regular long chewy noodles. It was tasty!

Happy hour specials run from 3-7pm with a list of dishes at only $5.

It's cute.

I used to go here really often, but I've found that the quality isn't all that consistent.   I'd order the same dish as I did last time I was there, and I'd swear it was something different entirely.  But how would I know, really?  I don't know anything about Thai food.  Sometimes I wonder if these places just sort of give me whatever they feel like giving me because they can guage my cluelessness.  Anyway, back to the review:

My boyfriend loves the pineapple curry, but was disappointed the last couple times he ordered it.  I haven't found anything that I love; it all starts to taste the same to me after awhile (see above:  cluelessness).

It's a decent every-once-in-awhile place to eat.  It's also reasonably priced and their Thai iced teas are deliciously humongous compared to what I've received elsewhere.  Service is so-so.  Everyone is friendly enough.

I came here for lunch and got a lunch combo. It included Tom Kah soup and the garlic pepper broccoli. This came with rice and said on the side. Both dishes are very generous and I think ill even have leftovers for tonight. I think the Tom Kah is some of the best ive had in a long long while.
For $9 this place rocks for lunch. The restaurant is very spacious and I love how you can see the cook making your food as right as you order it. Nothing has been sitting in pots for hours and hours. The waitress's are also very cute girls.

I was in and out in just about 10 minutes which is great for getting back to my office. I think ill call in ahead to save even more time.

Will totally be back as its great value, great food and close to my office!

We come for great, tasty vegetarian Thai food. They make it perfect for us every time. We will come back again and again.

FYI, we're coming from Cap Hill where there's good Thai to be found everywhere. We just love Phuket!

One thing I love is to be left alone while dining. The staff observes from a distance and arrives if needed. Nobody hovers over you here.

I've been here for lunch twice now and while the prices are steep for lunch, the food is pretty tasty.  I don't know if they have a lunch menu that is normally cheaper, but I felt like I was paying dinner prices.

My friend and I ordered the fresh rolls, tom kah soup, and pad thai.  I'm not a fan of the fresh rolls, because I think they lack flavor.  Once you dip them in the sauce they are better.  But still... no seasoning at all!!  I also don't like their texture and that's probably because I like my rolls to be fried.  These are probably much healthier though!

I loved the flavor of the soup!  Yum!!  Creamy from coconut milk and just the perfect amount of spice.  My complaints about the soup are that there are way too many onions and they are a bit crunchy.  However, the broth and the chicken combined are divine.

The pad thai was nothing special.

Overall, I'm fine coming here when I'm in the area, but I have some other Thai restaurants that I prefer.

If you're looking for "OMG I think my mouth just orgasmed" Thai food, this is not it. But to be fair, Phuket is solid, reliable, and consistent.

Service is hardly that, they'll take your order and leave you be until its time for the check. The chicken saute is pretty delicious, my dining companion is known to order two orders of that just so she can eat one there and take one home. Six bucks for four skewers and some tasty peanut sauce.

I had the spring rolls which had some pretty delectable sauce and some boring ole Phad Thai. Their spicy scale is pretty prudish, I had to order a 4 star before I could taste any sort of tangy Thai spicy goodness.

I can't remember what I had there before, but that doesn't mean it was bad or particularly good, just...ok. I'd say this is a great place for takeout when you're close to Queen Anne, don't have the $$ or time for something fancy but I don't think this will be my go-to Thai place - ever.

A comfortable, reasonably priced, casual Thai place with good food, in a fun neighborhood. This isn't really the great eating area, but there are a number of serviceable restaurants here. Phuket is unpretentious and informal. It is a perfectly good (if not particularly notable) Thai restaurant. I wouldn't go out of my way to go here, but if in the neighborhood it would definitely be a good choice. (In my book, 4 stars means it's worth it to get in the car and drive here. Call it a 3.7)

the food is good, decent noodles, nice selection - however, anyone who writes a review based on a restaurant's phad thai is regurgitating trite and predictable words.
this is a fine neighborhood spot, adequate atmosphere... but i must say, don't go if you are so hungry you could eat your fist at any moment. Phuket is slooooow, and with the open kitchen you can see them cooking and you know when you are NOT next up on the priority list.
I'm sure i'll go back for lunch due to its proximity, but i've had better thai...and i'm still waiting for my salad. and really, spicy? the roof of my mouth would love to debate that.

A friend convinced me to come here, so I obliged. Atmosphere is dark, cozy and seating options range from a booth, bar (kitchen bar, that is) and tables. This is a place where you can tuck yourself away and make nice with a date, or with a friend.

I ordered the Lard Nar - a thick, wide rice-type noodle in a gravy sauce with a plethora of fresh vegetables. It was very pretty good, piping hot and presented nicely on a hybrid bowl/plate. The spring rolls were also very fresh and the accompanying sauce was very good.

If there were any negatives, it's that the place seemed a tad understaffed and it was tough to get the waiter's attention at one point, but we survived and so did our bellies.

If you're feeling lucky, give it a try. Nothing too spectular, but nothing bad about Phuket. Just more of a ho-hum experience that I hope will be better next time so I can revise my rating.

This is one of my staple eateries.  It's close to where I live and it's never a problem getting a table, so the convenience factor is certainly high for me, but the reason I like the place so much is that it quickly became one of those places I connect with.

It has a cool, relaxed atmosphere, and I never feel the kind of tension that comes up at a lot of restaurants when they get loud and crowded.  Everything about the place invites relaxation, especially if you get one of the tables in the raised section that have big cushions and tons of personal space for each person.  Another thing I particularly like is that Phuket has a definite personality - I get so tired of going to places that could easily be swapped with a dozen other restaurants without anyone noticing.

The service is always friendly, if sometimes a bit slow, and I've only had one order messed up over the many times I've been there.

The food is very good in general, but they do seem to be a bit inconsistent - some of the dishes are excellent, while others are really kind of lacking.

The only complaint I have is that the music can drive me crazy after a little while.  They constantly play this incredibly overblown adult-contemporary music that always makes me think of Richard Marx singing in Thai.

Anyway, I recommend Phuket as a multi-visit kind of place; it may not blow you away the first time through, but chances are it will always be a good experience.

Oh, and it's pretty inexpensive, too!  Lots of food for the money.

My Favorite Thai Food Place.  Cashew chicken is fantastic, the flavor is unbelievable.  The Phad Thai is well decorated with delicious toppings, perfect flavor, and not a plate of mush like many other places.  Don't miss the Tom Kha soup.  It is also astonishingly good.

They have a combo lunch special which includes 2 items, rice, and salad for 9 bucks.  I stick with a pattern of Cashew Chicken / Tom Kha and then the next visit I go Phad Thai / Panang Curry.

-1 star because I have been going there once or twice a week for probably 2 years now and I still have to stop them while they're walking away and ask for chopsticks everytime.  A little annoying.

Maybe they were having a bad day...our experience was nothing like these other reviews.

Went for a Friday lunch. Waited almost an hour for our food. When it finally arrived, we needed to get it to-go. During our wait, no one came over to check on us or apologize/explain. I finally grabbed a waitress from another table, and she said our food was almost ready. It wasn't. We sat there and watched as everyone else in the restaurant and to-go orders were served.

The food? It was ok, nothing great, nothing terrible.  The service? That drops this to a 1-star restaurant.

They have an amazing combo where you can get 3 entrees in smaller sizes to share with your hubby, or in my case, my boyfriend. We love eating here and then going to Uptown theater next door.

Just be careful, they don't mess around when you order a 4 star spice on your food. It burned oh so good.

An open kitchen may be cool but it's not such a hot idea when it floods the dining area with fumes. And alarm bells go off when diners can observe the wait staff hacking away at the stove.

When someone orders Sen Yai Hang, please serve Sen Yai Hang, NOT some generic stir-fry. Because some people actually do understand the difference (http://www.thaitable.c...).

The service was prompt. Prompt to take the order, prompt to collect the $. Promptly disappeared between these 2 events.

The more I think about the meal, the more I want to drop the F-bomb. I think I'd better stop typing now.

Yum! We stopped by for Sunday lunch because it was convenient and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of food. Our table gave us a great view of the open kitchen, and it was fun to watch the cooking process. (There's relatively little space in that kitchen, though, so I imagine that things aren't as efficient when the restaurant is packed)

Started with chicken satay. The peanut sauce had a nice flavor to it and the chicken was tender and juicy. Very nice.

Next was pineapple curry. Pretty mild for two stars, and the broth was more runny than I like to see in a curry. Not bad, but the flavor wasn't what I was expecting... a little too sweet, and I swear I tasted tomato, which is just weird.

Finally... pad kee mao with tofu. This was heaven. The sauce was delicious, a little sweet, a little spicy. And the tofu, egg pieces, and noodles just worked perfectly. (Yeah, there were veggies in there, too, but I wasn't paying attention to them) Based on that dish alone, I want to come back and try more stuff.

To be fair, the food is amazing. The problem occurred after eating and as the staff was clearing the table. A plate slipped out of his grip, landed on the glass top table, cracking it. The other plate, with enough food to take home, ended up on my corduroy jacket. The staff apologized saying he had never done that before...then handed us our bill. He briefly returned with a t-shirt of the business wrapped in plastic. I couldn't believe they didn't offer to pay for the meal, seeing how 1/3 of it ended up on my jacket which also needed a good cleaning. Add insult to injury with the free t-shirt. I don't understand customer service anymore. We didn't feel valued as customers. Unethical and what a shame!

"Hey, my friend Jenny recommended this bar called Mecca to me."
"Yeah?  Where is it?"
"I dunno...Queen Anne?"
"Oh, that's right by this Thai place I like!"

After a dinner consisting of delicious mini fried spring rolls and a gorgeous green papaya salad (for me, at least...my friend had something with meat):
"So, are we going to Mecca now?"
"Man, I need to walk this off...and I have to drive back to Tacoma."
"Yeah, our parking is probably about to run out, too."
"Hey, you wanna get some frozen yogurt?"

No Mecca for us, but at least there was unavoidably delicious food involved in skipping what sounds like one of the best dive bars in Seattle.  Le sigh.

The service was nice and the price was right but I've had better Thai food in Berkeley's asian ghetto. mmhmmm *reminisces*

We ordered the fried spring rolls... because we thought we were getting a good deal because it said it came with 12... I have never in my life seen smaller egg rolls!!! Although the little things were really cute, I was left... sort of disappointed. I was expecting food to be for you know, like, real people... not like, midgets. (no offense, egg rolls were just TEEEEEEEEENY)

The tom yum soup was one of the better things we ordered, but that's pretty good EVERYWHERE.

I asked for very spicy (highest number of stars) pad kee mow and I couldn't even taste it. In fact, even the boyfriend who can't handle spicy food could eat the noodles just fine. I mean, when we got the order slip, she did write down "very spicy" but... i suppose the cook "forgot" to add any spices. I thought thai food was SUPPOSED to be spicy... but then again... it is in seattle, who knows it could be spicy for someone else.

The combination dinner seems to be a pretty good deal if you want a lot of meat for 17.99 and you can even have leftovers but... all in all, it deserves 2 stars. no more, no less. "Meh. I've experienced better." sums it all up perfectly.

In wandering my new neighborhood this evening while trying to find an uncrowded restaurant to celebrate my New Year's Eve as a single chick, this is what I stumbled across.  I was very, very pleased in my selection here!

9:15pm, managed to be their last customer they served for the evening and yet they were just as courteous and non-rushed as if I wasn't one of the few people keeping them from closing up earlier.  Cozied up to the bar originally planning on placing my order to-go, but because of the comfortable atmosphere, I decided to stay.  NYE revelers were filling 95% of the place, and yet not the annoying, "Woo-Hoo!" type that I'd wish boiling soup to spill on.  Just a quaint, more mature crowd than what was wandering outside-- and I very much appreciated that.  Plus in sitting at the bar, I had the full-on entertainment of watching the open kitchen and cooks work their sweaty magic, plus a television tuned into the last 5 minutes of the Sonics game (something I haven't seen in weeks since I don't have a TV yet) and surprisingly comfortable bar seats, so I was hooked.

The food was a bit greasier than I would like (and thus the one less star), but it was none-the-less delicious.  My plain-Jane taste buds ordered & fully enjoyed the starter of bite-sized spring rolls (the sweet & sour sauce accompanying it was SO tasty) and the tofu pad thai, which surprised me in being just a bit different than most I've had before and thus more delicious.  More vegetables speckled about, things like shaved carrots and steamed broccoli and the like... things that I normally would NOT be touching unless, like it was here, they are deeply enhanced in flavor by the sauce they are soaking in.  Thank you, I almost feel as if I ate a healthy meal!

Portions on main meal are large enough that I took half of it home in a baggie-- probably to be my first warm meal of 2008!  Washed down with a Pyramid Hef, and the appetizer, beer, and dinner including tax & tip came to $21.  I was very pleasantly surprised with the impromptu decision to eat here, and most importantly I cannot wait to return soon.

I ordered the green curry with chicken while I was here. Instead I got the green curry with tofu. Ok, no problem, I can eat some tofu if need be. Thankfully, the tofu tasted good and it wasn't much of a problem.

The curry was a bit runnier than I'm used to, but it was still pretty tasty. Service was good, very friendly as well.

The food here is fine.  The prices are decent.  (There is no lunch menu as there is at most Thai places.  However, the prices are reasonable enough that I've never felt I was overpaying for lunch.)

My qualms:  Service can be a bit slow, which can be a problem if you are there a lunch hour.

Also, they seem to have a very hard time with special orders.  More than once, I have order my Phad Thai with no green onions.  More than once, I have opened my (take out) Phad Thai order to see it slathered with green onions.   So, I end up having to pick off old the green onions, which is hoping to avoid by ordering the food without them.

Also, they are only Thai place I have ever been to that puts white onions in their red chicken curry.   Lots of them.  I hate white onions.  So, the second time I ordered this, I asked for no onions.   They complied, but did not replace the onions with anything else.  And, because about half the dish is onions, I ended up with half an order.

In short, they are in no way horrible.   BUT, with Tup Tim Thai and Racha Noodles so close, I have no reason to go running back here.

Oh F*&K it let's just go to Phuket for dinner.  So we did and we ate, we did the combo meal for $17.99 and it was more then enough food for two and gave us a variety of food unfortunately the food was too sweet for my liking.  Now I don't mind sweet food but when it comes to Thai food there needs to be a nice balance between the sweet and spicy and salty and Phuket failed in balancing their flavors.  I guess I should have figured things would be super sweet when I saw they had Kool Aid listed on their menu, who the hell servers Kool Aid oh Phuket does that's who.  I won't be going out of my way for super sweet Thai food here.  But if you like you're Thai food on the sweet non-spicy side you'll probably enjoy good old Phuket.

Just what this place needs, a 13th review. But I have two additions to the comments below. First, try the appetizer (name eludes me) that says in the description "You must try this!". It's some sort of leaf that you sprinkle coconut, ginger, onions, spicy peppers, peanuts and a special sauce on then roll up and chow down. Very interesting, very different.

Second. I love love love a waitress who brings me an enormous tall glass of water and can keep up with my fish like consumption thereafter. She was on top of it. I think this is my new criteria for tipping. Can I drink fast enough to reach the ice or were you too ninja stealthy for me to even notice you topped it off?

Ordered from Phuket because we wanted take-out from Tup Tim but they were closed...and was pleasantly surprised.  Everything is made right behind the bar!  LOVE IT!

The food good, we ordered Phad Thai and Beef Panang.  The mini spring rolls were soggy...definitely head to the Thai place at the top of Pacific Place shopping center instead if you've got a hankering for bite sized mini spring rolls.

I'm giving it a great review based mostly on hospitality...yes, we were ordering takeout, but when we got there to pick it up, they asked us to have a seat and gave us ice water with lemon while we waited.  Wow!  Usually i'm just ignored and scooted around the room as various servers give me the "you're-in-the-way" look.  Nice.

Sa-wa-dee kaaa! Phuket is great if you're looking to expand your Thai horizons.. It's great if you're looking for a smaller, more specialized Thai menu. Forget the Phad Thai and the Phad Se Yu. What you will find is Pinapple Curry, Pineapple fried rice.. you get the idea. Pineapple stuff.

The atmosphere is sub par, as is with most Thai restaurants, but it's good, spicy, and cheap.

I give it "one untouched Thai Iced Tea" up.

While my favorite Thai restaurant in Seattle is still The Thai-ger Room in the U-District, Phuket is now definitely my go-to Thai spot in lower Queen Anne. After eating here for the fourth or fifth time on New Year's Eve, I felt firmly entrenched in my appreciation for it. I've never had a bad dish here, and everyone I've dined with has felt the same way. My pineapple curry with tofu was delicious (although maybe a little spicier than I like), and I've always enjoyed their phad thai. I think I had those little egg rolls once and they were decent. The service was attentive recently, and our food arrived quickly. Until I try Rice and Spice or Racha, I'll continue to pick Phuket for lower Queen Anne Thai. Sorry, Tup Tim...

Great ambience.  I like this place mainly because you can see them cooking the food in the center of the restaraunt.  I love the layout and think the food is good.  This is a great place to eat before going down to Seattle Center for an event.  The food is good, the portions are perfect and the price is right.  My favorite dish here so far has been the beef salad.  Very tasty and with the lime it is just right.

This is not the best Thai restaraunt in Seattle but a very good one for this area.  It is competing with Racha down the street which is much more pricey but has a more interesting menu.

This place inspired me to plan my trip to Phuket next spring! NO JOKE! well, not really, but it definitely helped.

This place is awesome. I first went on my birthday last year. Was a Saturday around 6, and there were 8 of us. No reservations (i know, we are bastards). They sat us NO PROBLEM! in their funky cool booths up top.

The food is amazing. The staff is a bit odd--not super friendly, but i think it may be a cultural thing ... they always look at me like they want to ask me really personal questions but are too embarrassed to. It's funny, really.

Every time i visit this place, i grow more and more obsessed with the food. I'm typically a 'sweet and sour' type girl (AND that's the dish i typically order, too) ... but this place is so good, i trust that every dish on the menu rocks, so i am able to try different things every time.

And am NEVER disappointed.

Yuck.

Nasty pad thai.  Nasty soup.  Unfriendly staff.

Granted, I have relatively high expectations (or at least higher than most) for service.  They certainly did not even come close to meeting it.

I am kinda a freak and must have massive amounts of lemon in my water... like 3+ giant wedges with another being added after each refill.  I know.  Weird.  Anyway, I always order "water with a giant bowl of lemons... and a straw, please."  My giant bowl of lemons consisted of 3 "wedges" sliced approximately 1/4 inch thick.  Pathetic.

I hate this place even if the name is fun to say.

I've always wanted to check out this little place on lower Queen Anne but never really made it for one reason or another until last week on a gray rainy day when I was visiting back up in Sea-town. The interior here is nice, they've got a little bit of everything, tables where you can sit cross legged on the floor at and ones where you can sit in a chair if you're not feeling so adventurous.

The food here is par for the course for cheap Seattle Thai. The menu contains the usual suspects: phad thai, panang curry, tom yum soup, etc. I went with my Thai standby cashew chicken and found the sauce to be a bit runny and a little too sweet for my taste (I asked for 3 stars and I think my waiter heard 2). Not bad, just not the best.

I'm a big fan of their lunch menu...two main dishes, a side salad and rice for only $8.99....swweeeettt...I usually go with the chicken Panang and Phad Thai, but pretty much all the dishes are equally good.

Let's be honest though, LQA (or Uptown as the yuppies like to call it) has many Thai options and while Phuket is pretty good, for Phad Thai I prefer Rice 'N Spice and for everything else I prefer Tup Tim Thai. When I can't decide on one or the other though, I just use Phuket as my compromise.

So I wanted to like this place because of the good reviews on here, but alas it wasn't that great. Turns out it is just another Thai restaurant in Seattle, maybe with a funky name.

First, let me say the place was dead dead dead, I think because the game was going on, so that may account for the lack of quality in the food, too. The drink glasses were a bit tacky, but alright, its a lot of water so they don't need to fill them up frequently. The lemon in the water is a nice touch.

Ok, the actual entrees. I got Phad Kee Mau, or however you spell it, and it was decent, probably a 3/5. Had too much sweet flavoring for my liking, and not enough spiciness even though I asked for 3 stars. On the plus side the veggies were fresh, but the chicken was not - it tasted a bit dry. I hate dry chicken.

The Phad Thai my companion got was almost lackluster, too. It had this inferior sweet taste, with a dominant nutty flavor, and nothing much else. There was enough chicken and noodles, though, especially considering the price - $6.95.

Service was alright. Nothing bad to report here. I'd hope not, since there were only two other groups in the restaurant.

Food was good, if not average.  THey cook it in front of you in well-worn pots and not in a wok, where alot of opportunity for flavor is missed as a result. Quite frankly, if the presentation (kitchen) was nicer and the show was better (since they are open kitchen), I might have enjoyed it more.  Service was good.  At least they kept my water glass filled.

I like to pronounce the U as an O because that's how I roll.

It's cute, and the foods pretty yum too.
