so, im in the middle of italian central yes, i know, but i am very italian and my family just makes it so much better.
hungry, my sister begged me to "iphone yelp" pho. this was the closest to us without going into the city.
there was four of us -- two newbies and me and my sister. one of the newbies ordered veggie stirfry because it was safe and the other newbie picked off me and my sisters vermicelli ... mine with chicken, hers with beef.
the menu was very extensive with your usual vietnamese dishes. it was warm outside (boston, early march, WHAT! hahaha after their 12 inches) so i didnt get the pho, but after i received my vermicelli, i realized i should have. it was okay, we both have definitely had better. the summer rolls were average and very inexpensive.
next time i come it wont be so close to dinner because i realized i missed out on a meal that would have definitely been better than this. ill probably venture into the city next time.
Solid good Vietnamese food! My husband and I just relocated to MA and live in Chelsea and how surprised we were to find a Vietnamese Restaurant outside of Chinatown. The atmosphere inside is quite bland and empty, but the food is excellent. This place is going to be my go to place in the winter when I am craving something warm and tasty. Their pho hits the spot. I even took my family there when they visited from CA. My mom thought the food was quite authentic and was impressed with their extremely large menu. This place is definatey a hidden gem for the area.
Average Vietnamese food.
Service is ok. I guess you should try it out if you're on the highway and want to pull in for some food. Beats eating greasy food at McDonalds or KFC.
#35 Rice vermicelli with shrimp paste on sugar cane and grilled beef is good.
Very good Vietnamese food. The service is fast and the soup is delicious, with all of the pho fixings like fresh vietnamese basil, oyster sauce, hot chili paste, the works.
I have ordered a wide variety of food from the menu which is easy due to the inexpensive prices and it is all consistently good. There is no liquor but the Thai style hot tea is soothing yet energizing at the same time.
Showed up near 10:00 PM, just as the Red Sox had tied the Yankees. The staff was ready to close but were watching. They were kind enough to prepare a couple of vermicelli & beef bowls while we all watched.
I'd say the food was above average and the folks very nice. 'Course it helped that we were also watching the Sox pull it out.
I lost my Pho "virginity" recently at Pho Number 9 in Everett.
Maybe the setting did not live up to my fantasy as the dining area has a certain cafeteria feel to it but the Pho itself did not disappoint. I was somewhat nervous as I perused the menu because of the different varieties available. Beef or chicken? If beef should I get tendon? What about tripe? In the end I opted for the beef (Pho Tai) without tendon or tripe as I am not a fan of innards. When ordering Pho it's not pronounced the way it's spelled, rather it is pronounced as "Fa". But I assume either way will be understood. So I started with a fried veggie spring roll which was ok. Soon a large steaming bowl of beef Pho was delivered along with a plate of crisp bean sprouts, fresh basil and lime wedges. Bottles of Sriracha hot sauce and Hoisin sauce were on the table. I enjoyed the Pho very much, slurping the noodles, and adding in all the extras. I may have gone overboard on the Sriracha as afterwards I was sweating like an under-performing pit bull at Michael Vick's house. The staff here is pleasant and the menu is extensive so I plan to return to explore other dishes. I am also looking forwarding to trying Pho at other establishments, now that I am experienced. One day I hope to be known as the Pho King guy ;)
I wouldnt say this is "average vietnamese food". For a whole in the wall type of place on a main street in everett packed w/ nasty fast food ie kfc, wendy's, mcdonalds, taco bell, etc. I live right around the corner and everything i have ordered to date has been fantastic. My boyfriend tries the more eccentric foods like quail and he loves it too. If you know good food (and we do) try this place out. The owners are really nice too. Try their smoothies, deliciousssss.
