5 reviews for Pho Nam Restaurant
This is my favorite Pho house in Haltom City. The broth is divine. My regular is the #15 large with extra meatballs. It is chock full of nasty bits and tender brisket.
You must also get the fried rolls here, they are the best, although the pork rolls are not my style.
We have made our way through most of the menu here. Highlights include chicken & seafood pho, killer rice plates w/ pork or chicken (don't forget the fried egg) and great boba drinks.
The vibe is friendly diner with tons of flourescent lighting and neon. You will encounter the same folks serving up pho-tastic vittles every time. My favorite waiter has been MIA for a while. He does 6 months in Vietnam and 6 months in Texas; can't get more authentic than that.
Don't think, just go!
After trying many pho restaurants in the area I was consistantly disappointed and I had begun to think I just didn't like Vietnamese food!
Until I tried pho nam! A group of friends brought me there for lunch and I was back that same night for dinner. I get the noodle soup bowl with flank steak (#6). It is so great because the broth is so flavorful on its own before you even add basil or sriracha. The soup is delicious, delicious comfort and now I can't get enough of it!
The service is very fast (I get my soup minutes after I order it). The waiters are moderately attentive. Nothing terrible but nothing great either.
Also, the price is right ~$5.40 for a bowl of soup. FYI the small is substantial enough for most all adults (no need to order the large).
Go to pho nam. It is pho nam-inal!! : )
I love Pho Nam. It's still my Pho place of choice when I'm in the area. On the weekends and on special holidays they have Pho with chicken which makes it a bit healthier. I will say that they don't really fill up your drinks and aren't attentive (If you're not Asian you should be receiving good service), so if you need something, flag them down!
The restaurant is a bit smoky, so if that's a huge problem, try to have them seat you as far as possible. Overall, I love the Pho here (Vermicelli and Rice dishes alright as well)
Went to Pho Nam while vacationing in Texas. Excellent Pho. Being from California myself, I can tell you that this is as good as it gets in any hidden Vietnamese pocket in town! The owner also greeted us and was very friendly, and really helped to make my Texas trip memorable.
Definitely recommend and would definitely go again next time i'm in the Dallas area.
They actually only deserves two stars, sorry but I don't like inhaling second hand smoke. Yes there's a smoking section thats completely intertwined with the ns section. The pho is good, yummy broth but the crispy egg rolls were incredibly nasty. They outside was dripping grease, the inside kinda gummy and the mixture didn't taste right. There's two other Pho places nearby (and not on yelp) that I'm going to try next.
Service was a ok also.
