Alright, I'm a fan of this place. It's location's a bit odd and kind of nondescript, but the food is good and the pricing makes it easy for a random weeknight dinner. We went in the first time last week and ended up going back for round two today (I surprised myself by craving pho for lunch). It wasn't incredibly busy when we were in the first time, but the service was good; very friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Their menu is pretty expansive and has a nice range of noodle soups + other Vietnamese dishes. On both occasions I special ordered a pescetarian-friendly pho since I don't eat meat (beef seems to be a pretty standard option). I got mine with shrimp and tofu and was definitely happy with the mix. (Note: add the basil, mung beans, hot sauce, lime, etc... it all adds a lot to the soup!) My boyfriend had a more standard version + tried the lemongrass beef today and was happy with his order. It's too hard to pass up getting a large pho (vs. the small) when it's only $1 more, but the large is MASSIVE so be warned. I ended up taking half home the first time and had to break mine up into two servings today. When you're paying under $8 for a large though, it's hard to beat. Also, don't pass up on the shrimp spring rolls -- they're quite possibly my favorite thing on the menu. :)

Food aside, I should say after today I was really impressed with their friendliness and integrity! My boyfriend somehow left a $100 bill on the counter when we left with our lunch order (major oops!) and when we called in about ten minutes later in an attempt to find it, they told us they DID have it and kept it up front for us to pick up. Since honesty and integrity are two things I value, that alone is enough to make me want to come back!

Very nice atmosphere for a vietnamese restaurant, a feel bad that it always seems a little slow when i go in probably because of the location. The traditional pho is good, but not great or very rich, but I love getting the duck with egg noodle soup, very rich and lots of duck. The servers are quick and attentive, not the best vietnamese I've had, but a solid place nonetheless.

My mother and I come here.  We always order the Pho and the Vietnamese Coffee--two important staples in Vietnamese cuisine.  And it's pretty damn good.

I'm sad the reviews are not as positive here.  I like this place.  The staff is friendly.  The food comes out quick and its fresh.  They're not stingy on the beans sprouts.  The pricing is decent for being in Granite Bay.  I like that the owners are Vietnamese, it's family run, and everyone is down to earth.  When I don't feel like driving to the other side of town to get my fill on authentic Vietnamese food, I come here.

I also like that this restaurant doesn't try to position itself as "fusion" food or a place that sells Chinese cuisine...or whatever bullsh*t so many other places are trying to do these days.  Pho Bac Hoa is an authentic Vietnamese restaurant--if you want frills or extra ambiance, go somewhere else--I'll be eating here.

I phoned in a "to go" order for Pork SPRING ROLLS.  It looked delicious when i picked it up.  After 2 bites, i noticed it had a sour taste to it.  I don't know if it was the marination of the meat but it was NOT good.  I decided to eat the other end to see if it tasted the same...it did. I took a bite out of all 4 spring rolls and they all had that sour taste to it.  The meat they used must have been overdue or sitting out for a while.   Just for the record, i've been to other hoa viets (madison & bradshaw) and never had that sour taste in my srping rolls.

I've gone several times and have yet to be disappointed. I typically order charbroiled pork over vermicelli and its been consistently good each time. To drink, the smoothies are delicious! Last time I ordered a mango smoothie and I was in heaven, even chewing on chunks of fruit as I sipped.

Besides my vermicelli dish, the 3 colors sweet drink is my second staple, and I order it every time I go.

Came back again because I had debilitating Pho cravings and didnt want to drive across town.  Same good service and the ingredients seemed much fresher this time.  Maybe last time I caught their ingredients freshness on a bad day?  The soup was delicious!  Lots of items on the menu so I can't complain.  Thanks for the great lunch :D

I had the vegetable noodle soup and really enjoyed it. I had the egg noodles, but will probably get the rice noodles next time. I was happy with the good and fast service. So it's 4 stars for the type of restaurant they are. A great place to call in your order and drop by to pick it up. They did a great job packaging my soup in a way that would keep well in take out boxes.

How can I forget--the greatest thing ever when you are feeling under the weather, which was the case with me.

My nose was stuffed up and my day just plain sucked on this past Tuesday evening, so I sought solace in a bowl of Steak Pho at Bac Hoa Viet on my way home from work. My lunch had been kind of skimpy so I got a Large vs. my usual Small size. It was perfect as per usual. I don't know what they do to make their broth, but it tastes like it is from beef heaven. The service at this little place was spot on as always. I left feeling a little better than I had when I walked in the door.

My only complaint is that whenever I stop in the TV over the bar is usually tuned-in to a kid's cartoon station that is a little annoying (I guess I am just not a fan of Sponge Bob). That said, the kids watching the program are very well behaved as they are so absorbed in the program, I get to enjoy my meal in peace.

This is a MUST STOP type of place if you ever need a bowl of Pho in Roseville. Do not go to Bo-Bo's Cafe, that place is just a sticky table rip off.

Trying to find a good Vietnamese restaurant in the Roseville area is like trying to meet a virgin in a Lamaze class, not going to happen. But this place is closest to finding that virgin in a Lamaze class.

The food is good. The service is actually awesome, especially for a Asian restaurant. They will actually refill your water. The place is also clean.

Best pho in the Roseville area so far.

This place is conveniently down the street from my house, which I love. After reading my friend, Phil's review, I guess this place is a hit or miss with some people; but I've always had good service here.

You can tell they did a lot to make this place more visually appealing, but sometimes I feel like there's a lot to look at. The stone walls in between the tables are a nice touch, it gives a little more of an intimate feel. It seems a little on the dim side, too. BUT the food is prepared well. I prefer their peanut dipping sauce over the sauce at Pho Viet on Woodcreek Oaks/ Pleasant Grove Blvd.

Take out is available, and quickly prepared. We buy take out from here quite frequently.

Coming here again recently reminded me why I liked the Madison location the best.

I try not to base my reviews too much on service since I'm usually just there for the food, but my last visit was an exception.

They took unusually long to come back with our order and when it came my order had rice noodles instead of  the requested egg noodles.  After waiting longer for my corrected order it came back and the meat wasn't very tender and came with lots of fat and tendon chewy pieces.  I hate when my noodles stick and clump together...and that's exactly what happened!  The broth was still good of course, but everything else was pretty dissatisfying.

My other visits here were never too bad; they always serve good Crystal Walnut Shrimp, Fried Rice, and Pho.  Their beef stew (which happens to be one of my favorites), however, always seems to consistently come with not-so-tender meat and chewy extra tendons.

I only come here when I'm in the area and don't feel like going to the Madison location (where they serve generous amounts of everything btw).  This is still the best Vietnamese location in East Roseville/Granite Bay though!  Good prices and good food for the most part; just steer away from the beef stew.

I'm a pho fiend. I don't live far from here, so I go here mainly out of convenience. Not bad pho. What I like about their pho is that it's not overly-flavored or overly-spicy which allows you to flavor it to your liking. I love Siracha but want to use it sparingly according to what my taste buds can handle.

The other good thing is it's cheap. I get a small chicken pho and it's $6.25. It's always more than I can eat. Since I tend to get in a food rut and order the same thing over and over, I haven't ventured out to other menu options.

The restaurant itself looks clean. Has several flat screen TVs around the room which are always on different channels. Usually one TV has the volume up. The service is good and as one reviewer mentioned, they keep your water glasses filled which isn't always the case in Asian restaurants.

Would I go here again? Of course, it's cheap. It's close. And there's never a wait.

Tried this for first time last night, and the jury is still out.  It was OK but I have had much better elseware.   I had the Charbroiled Pork over Vermicelli.  The pork was paper thin and on the bland side, but the noodles were fresh and the side dipping broth-stuff (honestly I dont know what it is) was flavorful and garlicy and gave the noodles a good taste.

I would like to try the pho or something else next time.  My daughter loves their pho, so Im sure I will get another chance to try them again shortly.

So, 3 stars, in part cause my daughter likes them

Listen up peeps... DO NOT ORDER THE APPETIZER SAMPLER!!!  Talk about a poor excuse for fried food! I thought you couldn't go wrong frying anything?  Well you can if it isn't fresh to begin with! I swear this stuff tasted twice fried, YUCK!  I eat at the Pho Bac in Folsom and love it but have never ordered this sampler.  My son wanted it so I agreed and was so dissapointed. I tried one of each offering hoping it would get better and it didn't so I sent it back.  The poor waiter had to come out and tell me that it is cooked how they usually do it and since we ate half of the food they would have to charge me for half.... WHATEVER!  Pathetic. I agreed but was even more dissapointed in the place... 1.5 stars please.

Pho is certainly hard to find in the Roseville/Granite Bay area. So, I'm always happy to find good Pho in the area. We ordered in the korean bbq, a  combo of fish cake, egg roll, chicken, and vermachelli noodles (bun), and a order of Pho. Everything was delicious. I enjoyed the flavor of the Korean bbq - it was a little bit of sweet & savory at the same time. My mom enjoyed the Pho - very flavorful broth. The combo of good eats had everything I wanted. I definitely want to go back to try more of their menu.

I must admit that I love Pho.  If I must eat the same dish for a month, this would be it.  I definitely love the complex flavor of the broth which of course the most important component of the dish and the various layers and texture of the rests of the dish such as Cilantro, onions, noodles, etc.  This dish is just so divine.  Like their shirts on sale, it's Pho-bulous!

Aside from the food, I must say that this place is clean.  The decor is more upscale compared to their Madison location and by far better than the one in Broadway.  The broadway location just look old and nasty.  This place is one of their niciest.  As far as Pho is concern, I love it.  My only complain is they should lessen the amount of salt to their broth and take is easy on the MSG.  Other than that, I'm a regular customer here whenever I have my appibtments

The challenge with Pho is that it is so uneven - sometimes the food is great and sometimes awful.  For example, the first time I got the beef stew it was wonderful - meat and sauce were perfect.  I couldn't wait to go back to have it again!  When I did - inedible!  Not sure what the meat was (Horse?  Leather?) but it was vile and went uneaten.  Great menu: soup, stirfry, noodles, etc.

The other issue is service - they only have two servers during the day (haven't been there for dinner) so if you go during the lunch hour you can wait a long time - The second time I went there I left after 20 minutes with no waiter.  If you go after lunch be prepared for a mess - dishes and uneaten food piled on tables.  Disgusting!

I've gone to 3 different Pho Viet restaurants.  This is probably the cleanest of the three.  The main difference is the size of the portions.  I bought an XL bowl #1,  it had extra soup but the amount of noodles and meat was about 1/3 less than their other restaurants.  This also goes for item #51 BBQ pork over rice.  Light on the pork and lots of rice!  My wife and I were still hungry after we left!
OK, but don't go there if you expect the same portions as their other restaurants...

This place is awesome.  It's actually a local chain, there are a few other ones.  But if you are in the Roseville Area, it's much closer than heading to Madison, Broadway or South Sac (and much safer).

It's casual enough for me to bring my 2 kids, but tasty enough to bring biz clients willing to trade a bit (ok maybe alot) of atmosphere for ethnic food.

The place specializes in Pho, but the rice and noodle plates are also very good.

    Highly recommended.
