Neighborhood: Market EastThe prices are now $2/ ride, or $5 for an all day pass, $10 for a family of up to 4. So it's the same price as the subway but you get to see the sights as you go. Great for tourists- seemed to run more frequently than the regular buses in the city. WAY cheaper than the other trolley tours- but those ones may have more of a tour guide on board. The drivers on the Phlash just announced stops, no explanations of any sites or anything. It was a great way to get around during my day of sightseeing.

Okay, okay, I know. After reading the reviews for Philly transportation, it's hard to believe that PHLASH service is worthy of 5 stars. But, in my book, it is!! This IS the best way to get around Philly. There are 20 "key" stop locations which just happened to include both of the hotels where I stayed. Plus, the buses stop at all the major tourist attractions! Check the link above for those locations! The price is great, just $1 each time you hop on or you can get an all-day pass for $4. Hop on. Hop off. Where you like! And you can't miss these buses. They are purple, really purple. Also, be prepared to stand. You can't always get a seat. But they are regular just like clock work and show up every 12 minutes. Oh and they are air conditioned. Can you imagine? I LOVE PHLASH!! Thanks, Philly!

At $1 per ride, this is the cheapest way to get around Center City. The big purple PHLASH trolley goes from the Art Museum to Olde City, pretty much sticking to the Market Street area, but, heck, it's cheaper than SEPTA if you need to go somewhere in the area. It's mainly for tourists, but I caught it one day because I had to go from 18th and Market to 6th and Market, and my bus was late (big surprise). For $1, I got a fast, comfy ride with a very nice trolley driver. I'd ride it again, even though I'm not a tourist. Too bad the PHLASH only goes in Center City.
