The first time I had their pizza, my office had ordered a couple pizzas and everyone seemed to think it was ok.
Yesterday, i stopped in to grab a slice or two for a late lunch/dinner. Usually i go to cafe cantina down by the waterfront if i'm wanting a slice of pizza for lunch, but i remembered my office ordering from here and figured i'd give it another shot. i walked in and placed an order for 2 slices to go, paid and left. the place was completely empty other than what looked like 2 waiters and possibly the manager or owner. once i got back to the office, i noticed that my 2 slices equated to literally half of the pizza. i'm not sure if tthis is typical or if they thought they were doing me a favor by giving me what equates to 4 slices instead of 2? Either way, i got 4 slices for $6, which would have been a great deal in Georgetown had the pizza been up to par, but it tasted like something i could have microwaved at home. When in the mood for pizza, I'll stick to Cafe Cantina, but it did look like Philly Pizza & Grill had many other pastas, salads, and sandwichs to try, and I may be back for one of those choices.
If I could give it a zero I would. This is less than 6 blocks from my house and it took over 1.5 hours to get a delivery! So, of course when the food arrived it was not hot. WTF? If the food was hot would it have tasted good? No way. This is the worst pizza/sub/gyro store in DC!!!!
It looks like the other reviews are from employees. Don't believe the hype...
Must try doner (gyro) here, it's really good! Very friendly staff, good service, and clean place. I also recommend the baklawa desert. I will certainly visit the next time I'm in town.
