"This is not just another nice back rub. This is a full on treatment. I hurt myself playing rugby several years ago, work at a desk, fly…" read more »
Two years ago, my TMJ disorder flared up, leaving me with a headache for four months. My doctor sent me over to Devin (before she was working on her own), and within a week, my headache was gone. The physical therapy hurt like hell (massage on the inside of my mouth) but it was *good* pain, the kind you know is releasing all sorts of nastiness.
Now I'm on week seven of a headache, caused by the same issues. My doctor sent me to another physical therapist, who did NOTHING, and my headaches were getting worse. Yesterday, by some miracle I found Devin and she worked me into her schedule. Leaving my session with her, I felt more relaxed than I've felt in weeks. So much of the tension is gone. There's still a lot of work to be done, and it will all hurt, but I'm incredibly grateful to her for releasing so much, which really gave me hope. She's amazing. I cannot recommend her highly enough.
Below is the review I originally wrote for Devin when she worked at another establishment. As she has moved onto greener pastures, I am compelled to re-iterate the wonder of her spectacular talents, wherever she may now be rooted. Read on ....
Devin rocks my world. Plain and simple. PT is often a slow process of incremental improvement, but I feel SO remarkably better after each session with this lady, I can't begin to say enough good things about her! When you're living with some degree of pain on a daily basis, the value of a really gifted physical therapist is immeasurable. God forbid you should ever have a need for her services, but if you're reading this you're probably already in need of some healing magic, in which case you could do no better than Devin! Thank you sistah!

Devin is amazing. I broke my back and neck years ago, and though I have recovered, have lived in varying levels of chronic pain and discomfort ever since. Devin has been caring, extremely skilled and helpful in relieving some of my chronic pain and the misalignment of my ribs due to the injuries. I didn't even know the pain had anything to do with my ribs until Devin did a thorough assessment to get to the root of the problem. Years of seeing chiropractors, doing Yoga, receiving massage & CranioSacral therapy - even consultations (and x-rays) with Osteopaths and MD's - did not reveal this! She has such a warm, friendly and welcoming presence, too. I would recommend her to anyone suffering from conditions ranging from minor discomforts all the way to recovery from serious injuries.
She is amazing.....
Here is the story:
Snowboarding and cycling for many years has done some serious damage to my back. Last Christmas, while snowboarding in Tahoe, I had a bit of an accident and mess up my back pretty bad. The result was a herniated disk causing severe numbness and chronic pain in my back and legs. I could barely walk for a month. My doctor said I would need surgery. Yikes!
Surgery sacred me, so I decided to try physical therapy first. I went to several PT's with minimal results until a friend recommended Devin Pfister DPT. Devin knew exactly what was wrong and had a game plan ready for me. Under her care, my back improved dramatically and has gotten better after every session. Devin saved me from surgery! She is awesome, super knowledgeable and very personable!
Currently, I am pain free and walking great! I recently started cycling again and planning a snowboarding trip to Tahoe this winter. I can't thank Devin enough.
Thank you!!
Best physical therapy in SF! Devin's great at rehab and getting you back out there. She gives thoughtful, personalized care with a light touch. Watch out though, she can be a taskmaster when needed. She is a wonderful alternative to other big physical therapy set ups.
