Yeah, I think P.F. Chang's is a little over-hyped for what it is. Sure, the decor is "cool" making vegetable lo mein hip again with the darkened seating area, silk drapery, and lotus blossom murals, not to mention the GIANT stone statues out front.
The service is what you would expect at a T.G.I. Friday's, jubilant college students masquerading personality for higher-check averages. It's good enough, not great by any standards.
The food isn't much better than what you would get at a neon light wrapped, menu above the counter takeout joint.
This thing is that this place is always packed, and the wait you would experience really isn't worth it.
Omg! I have to start out by saying that the ahi app was superb! Not too much (although you can really never have too much ahi) and the sauce was oh so yummie goodness. As I am a big dipper (I'm short so I have Napoleon syndrome). I also endulged in some lettuce wraps that was absolutely perfect!
I showed up around 11:15 and it wasn't busy at all which kind of made me a bit nervous cause I've never seen a P F changs not busy but it worked out beautifully. The server was attentive (I already forgot her name but she was a sweet pea) and around 12:15 it was slammed. I strongly suggest that you get there for an early lunch if you are in a hurry! Timing was perfect!
Seriously, stop opening up these disgusting Chinese-wanna-b chains. It is as if the creator of PF Chang's came up with this brilliant idea to take fake Chinese and begin fusing it with American standards, but somehow it didn't go according to plan so the owner got lazy and stopped mid process to go to the bathroom. Their entrees do not even taste like food. And just b/c they are attached or next to a "posh" shopping center/mall it does not translate to 5-star dining... not even 3-star dining is worthy of being slapped to the title PF Chang. People take friends and business partners there thinking they are having a gourmet Chinese meal or they are dining in the halls of the great Shanghai leaders - c'mon, the place is overrated. Let me stick two giant Lion or 1 enormous Shanghai Horse stone statue in front of my house. I guarantee a good crowd will flock to me just like they do to PF Chang... only difference is I will have the human decency to not serve disgusting food.
PF Chang's is the Mcdonald's of Chinese cuisine.
The only thing worth eating there is the lettuce wraps and the mixed drinks.
Other than that.. Go to CHANS @ East Colonial. That is real chinese food for you or go to Tasty Wok.
When PF Chang's get a dish right, it's amazing. Two of my favorite dishes are the Mongolian Beef and the Lamb with Mustard Sauce. However, when PF Chang's get a dish wrong watch out! I ordered a vegetarian based dish that had me hugging the toilet all through the night. Someone once told me that you can't vomit and shit at the same time and that night I proved that theory wrong.
Not a fan of PF Changs. The food should not be called Chinese food, because it is very American style and I couldn't taste any Chinese spices or anything of the sort. I had some sort of tempura and my friend had the scallops which she found to be undercooked and waayy to jiggly.
My food was basically flavorless and I went back to give PF's one more shot, but let's just say that was my very last time.
I get very tired to chain restaurants because they really are SO boring, with the same "trying to to be cool" persona. But (and you probably knew this was coming), I LOVE P.F. Chang's! I think they do a great job with the menu - there is definitely something for everyone (and I should know, I'm a vegetarian). I always get the garlic noodles and Shanghai cucumbers - I am in heaven!
The service when I have been was great but I'm sure not everyone is so good. Atmosphere is very pretty and nighttime-y; tables are cozy. Great spicy options!
I had the Kung-Po Chicken and was pleased with the entree. The brown rice was very large and tasty. I had plenty to take home since the entree was so large.
The appetizers I ordered were very tasty and I would order them again on a subsequent visit. I had Chang's Chicken in Soothing Lettuce Wraps, and the Crab Wontons. The crab was very warm and slightly spicy. It was definitely a favorite.
With so many other Chinese restaurants out there, P.F. Chang's brings something new to the mix. Then again, even though their food is tasty I don't really consider it to be Chinese.
The food is decent but for the price I'd rather go to some hole in the wall Chinese take out restaurants and have something more like Chinese food than fusion cuisine.

PF Changs is always a reliable choice for Chinese, no matter where you are. I've never had a bad meal at any Chang's location. The food is unique and tasty. The atmosphere is great. Only real downside at this location are the servers. Unfortunately they didn't keep up with the drinks and few other things.
I've gone to this specific PF Chang's twice and their services have been good. The server the last time was good with maintaining the drinks coming, the used plates out of the way and making sure everything was good. Ordered the dumplings for appetizer and the combo Lo Mein for lunch. Very filling, with the lasting taste of garlic (which makes a tasty meal for me!) and not too harsh on my wallet. At another PF C, I had some plum wine and am totally in love with it. The flavor of this wine is the right mix of sweetness which doesn't overpower the drink.
Kung Pao Scallops...could it get any better than this? For a chain restaurant, PF Chang's is where it's at. The atmosphere is fantastic, and it's a good place to bring your mom to expand her palate. At least it's a good place to bring my mom for such purposes, anyway. Living in fear of spicy foods, she tried some of my Kung Pao Scallops and discovered that she liked them better than what she ordered (the Cantonese Scallops, which are good but much more bland). They let you choose between white or more healthy brown rice, and I love the little science experiment-like tray of Asian spices. And the little mini desserts are perfectly sized and perfectly priced. Oh PF Chang's, how I wish you were closer.
Great place and good food and plenty to fill u up.
PF Changs is always a reliable choice for Chinese, no matter where you are. I've never had a bad meal at any Chang's location. The food is unique and tasty. The atmosphere isn't particularly authentic, it's more like Chinese food in a Cheesecake Factory setting but that can be a good thing. Only real downside is that it can be somewhat costly and I always feel like there should be more food on the plate for the price.
LOVE PF Chang's. Great food. Great service. Great wine. Love it.
It's very easy to come in to PF Chang's and think in the typical pre-programmed way of immediately dismissing a place for being both "Americanized" and a chain restaurant. PF Chang's, however, clearly has amazing food and some of the best service around. I've tried Chinese restaurants all over Orlando and haven't been able to find one place that has tastier food than PF Changs. The sauce they make for you is a great addition. I don't like to go to these sloppy Chinese flop-houses and have real Chinese people slop some greasy noodles on my plate. No, I prefer quality Chinese food in a classy atmosphere with great service. The lettuce wraps are incredible. The orange peel beef is better than any one I've ever had at "authentic" Chinese restaurants with the exception of a few in Chinatown in New York and excluding California in general. Every dish you order will be tasty, CLEAN, and quality. PF Changs is renowned for their service. Whenever I'm there, you get a complete team effort. The food runners don't mind getting you extra things and won't disappear on you, the hostesses will help you, the servers are great, and even the bussers help. Yeah, I'd much rather go to a PF Changs and get great food and service instead of being ignored at another Chinese restaurant and then slopped some greasy noodles on a plate. The exception is of course it's much better to go to an authentic Chinese restaurant for dumplings of any kind. (Dim Sum).
