In all honesty, there simply is no finer pizza than Petrilli's in Upland, CA...
This is is a family owned shop that has a lot of pride in their business and the food they serve. The toppings are generous, the crust is really good, and this pizza is absolutely delicious.
Petrilli's has a personal size, small, medium and large--the size of their pizza is larger than that served at other places. They also offer thick or thin crust. I like their thick crust, but it's all good.
You really must try it. -

I thought papa johns was good, but this place is even BETTER!
when you walk in and stare at the menu, the prices might surprise you a bit. but the prices are very reasonable because of the quality and the generosity of toppings they put on their pizzas.
I think i've pretty much tried everything they have on their menu. The sandwiches are very good and you can tell they use good quality meats and cheeses.
As for the pizzas, they are very generous with the toppings. when you open the box the first thing that comes out of your mouth is "holy ^&%&^$^%!!! thats a lot of toppings!"
their dough is AMAZING! i could eat it all day long. one of my employees orders double crust whenever she orders pizza there. it's that good. Sometimes they sell the dough by itself too. when they have it i recommend purchasing it it.
i used to get the pepperoni pizza all the time, but one day i decided to try their bianca. since then, i've only ordered the bianca. it's my favorite pizza there.
seriously, they have the best pizza in town :) -

Meh. Not bad, not great. The crust was tough and chewy. We will not be returning.

Hands down best pizza around, Excellent crust, sauce and toppings. Only complaint is that they use canned Mushrooms. But I never order a mushroom pizza anyways.

It's OK. It's not great. That is all. This is one of several places in the IE and LA I have dropped in on based on strong @Yelp reviews and been disappointed.
I'm beginning to think I need to adjust my expectations because the Yelp scale is artificially inflated 'round these parts.
We'll see. Maybe I'm jaded from food adventures all over the place. -

I have yet to experience an overload of toppings (which is what I keep reading on yelp), maybe they don't like me haha. The pizza is "A-OK" as my rating says. A tad bit more than I wanted to pay, but that fact that I return every now and then says it is still somewhat worth it. They do use good ingredients, fresh tasting. Nonetheless, the search continues for that 5star pizza in the IE. . .

WHOA! Toppings overload at this place. I think next time I go back, I'll ask for half of the amount of toppings.
We ordered a large pizza (which is 26 squares. Yes, their pizza comes in square-slice form): 1/2 black olives, 1/2 pepperoni. I think it came to about $30-32, but it was a HUGE pizza. It fed all three of us, for dinner, and then breakfast the next morning, and we STILL had leftovers even after THAT!
This was our second time back, and they're very consistent! Great customer service (very polite and friendly over the phone) and their product is always baked to perfection. Usually done in about 15-20 mins too, even on a Friday night.
The crust is a bit on the thick side, but still chewy, doughy and delicious. The sauce? Dead on. Not too sweet, not too oregano-y, and just the right amount. Cheese? It's a bit salty, but definitely tasty.
The pepperoni is quite spicy, and with the amount they give you, it's a fire bomb in a box. Again, for me, I'm asking for half the amount next time my friends and I grab a pie from Petrilli's.
It is a bit more expensive than other chains(hence the three stars,) but the quality is beyond compare. It's not really "NY style pizza" (as my quest continues...) but it's the best pizza I've found around Ontario yet!Listed in: The Quest for REAL Pizza

Good pizza, the style and quality of the pizza is amongst the very best.
I'm talking about REAL toppings, high quality toppings.
I recommend you try this at least once. -

Atmosphere:
It's REALLY small inside. This place is mostly for to-go. There is like 1 table in there. (1 Star)
Taste:
One of the best pizza I've ever had. I would go back, but it's pricier than the $5 extra large I get somewhere else. But I recommend this place to try at least once. (1 Star)
Price:
The pizza is a little pricier than most other pizza places, but the flavor makes up for it. (1 Star)
Service:
The guys were nice. No complaints here. (1 Star)
Overall:
Great pizza for once in a while buying (for me) I highly recommend this place for Pizza Lovers. (1 Star) -

I ordered a middle size pizza with 2 toppings, total amount is about $21.00. The pizza is little bit salty, I am not sure that it is cheese or pepperoni salty.and I didn't get a lot of toppings as people mentioned, and it is just like a regular pizza from anywhere. And I can get a better pizza from the around table with more toppings at the same price.
But the speed for meal and the size of pizza are pretty good. -

REALLY good pizza. THey never skimp on toppings--if you asked for meat, you're getting a LOT--expect the box to bend at the middle when you pick up your pizza.
The calzones are really good, too.
Fun Date Night: Pick up a Petrilli's pizza, head back to your car to eat while blasting some good music, then head over to Handel's across the street for some dessert (that is, if you're not COMPLETELY stuffed) :) -

Upland, CA
I am a picky pizza eater. I like lots of sauce, not too much crust and a good amount of toppings. Petrilli's does NOT disappoint. You get a lot of quality pizza for the money and their pepperoni is the best by far! The only reason they don't get 5 stars is because sometimes there is actually too much by way of toppings. The one and only time I got the works (which is normally my favorite) it had to be eaten with a fork.
I don't want to eat my pizza with a fork.
I will close by saying I am a huge fan! -

Are you a cheap ass and don't care about quality.? Do you like cardboard? If you do then don't come here. You get what you pay for. Lots of toppings. I mean LOTS! I bought a medium and came home with what most places call large. We had plenty of left overs for the next 5 mornings. My wife doesn't do pizza for breakfast. That's changed! Fat delicious pies come from here. Gotta try this spot at least once.

We were curious about this place and ordered a bianca pizza and a canadian bacon and pineapple pizza. Maybe we have consumed too many Little Cesar's Pizzas in our lives, but Petrilli's did not get us all excited like many of our fellow yelpers. It was okay, just okay. The crust was toasted/cooked more than I am accustomed to -- roughed up the roof of my mouth. The leftovers went down a little easier--thanks to the microwave. While we can appreciate that the higher price may reflect higher quality ingredients, we are not sold out on this pizza and not willing to ditch our domino's, pizza hut, Costco, and even Little Cesar's (when $ times get tough)!

Despite reading a review about someone finding a cockroach in their pizza, I thought I'd give Petrilli's the benefit of the doubt and try their pizzas anyway.
Upon arrival, this place doesn't have anywhere to sit. It's take-out only. Not a problem, since I live pretty close. They only have one specialty pizza (apart from their Bianca Pizza.. which is a tomato-sauce-less pizza) which has pepperoni, salami, onions, mushrooms, bell pepper, and sausage. The lady at the counter takes our order (a small specialty pizza) and waited. I noticed that they have a large shoji screen (one of those japanese folding room dividers) right behind the counter, so you can't even see the kitchen. A little unsettling.. My boyfriend and I joked amongst ourselves, wondering if we should ask the place to be careful not to include any rodents but instead, we just hoped for the best. The pizza was done pretty fast and I was happily anticipating eating this DELICIOUS pizza.
We get home, open the box and give it a quick once over to make sure that everything on the pizza is what belongs on a pizza. Aaaand we dive in. Yummy! It's SO good! It's very fresh, toppings are overflowing! Their sausage is no ordinary sausage. It's very flavorful with spices and fennel seeds! The pizza isn't greasy.. sure it has some oils from the cheese, but it's not the usual greasy pizza. Happily munching away at slice number two... when my boyfriend screams in disgust. A hair.
A hair wrapped around in cheesy tomato and crust.
I honestly understand how hard it is to open up your own business. I understand that we all have hair and sometimes they fall in unfortunate locations. It's happened to everyone, I'm sure. I understand that this place really does indeed have delicious pizzas. Therefore, I am not giving this place a "slap in the face" one star.
Let me defend my two star rating. The service wasn't bad, they did what they do best. The provided me with a delicious tasting pizza. Their pizzas are bountiful in toppings and cheese. Cheese and meats are pretty expensive. This family owned business can hardly afford to print professional photos of their pizzas for their menu, yet they pile on expensive, fresh ingredients for their patrons.
Unfortunately, this was my first time eating from this pizza joint, especially after reading warnings of cockroaches. I really wanted to like this place. Unfortunate things happen, and I honestly don't know if I will return or not. I want to, but only after they clean up the place. They really need to start reviewing their health department codes and regulations.
Now I hate to a jerk, but.. I know there are fake reviews and made up stories by competitors/angry customers just to bring a place down, so.. "pics or it didn't happen". -

Rancho Cucamonga, CA
Hands down,,, the best take-out pizza in the Rancho/Ontario/Upland/Alta loma area!!!! Around the same price as Round table, or Papa Johns, however the same high quality pizza as its home base Pertrillo's in Rosemead CA. The portions are huge and no holding back on toppings!! A small is a pizza hut medium, a medium is a pizza hut large, and the large is bigger than any take-out pizza (rectangle and big/square slices) . A small is MORE than enough for two people. Moreover,, if your are ever in this area,, stop try this, you wont be disappointed!!!! You'll soon forget the popular pizza delivery chains.

Upland, CA
Upland has a lot of really good restaurants for a small city. Unfortunately we tend to get stuck, going to the same favorites over and over again. Well, this time when I was craving pizza, I thought to myself "Let's play a game called Yelp Roulette" by typing in "pizza" and "Upland, CA" and visit whichever pizza place in the area had the highest Yelp rating.
Well ... Petrillis came out on top, and true to my word, I suggested to my husband that we try this pizza out. We have passed this place several times when going to Togo's or Rubio's but never really given it a second glance .... until now.
Petilli's is a small "hole in the wall" pizza place with no room to sit & dine. You pretty much pick up your pizza & take it somewhere else to eat, so I suggest calling in your order ahead of time.
My husband and I decided to try the "Pertilli's Special" which had everything on it. We ordered a small pizza (which is far from small), so we figured we'd have room for an appetizer and we decided to give the cheese bread a try.
It took 20 mins or so, and our pizza was done. The scent coming through that pizza box was nothing short of heavenly, and as other Yelpers have stated before me, that box was HEAVY ... fit for a workout (which no doubt would've been a good idea after eating this....).
We tried the cheesebread first. It came with a big side of marinara sauce. You can also buy additional sides of ranch for 0.25, but their marinara sauce was REALLY good and although I normally would go for the ranch dip over the marinara, that was not the case here.
The cheesebreads were fantastic! Big chunks of bread with thick slices of cheese on top.
Then I opened the pizza box and my jaw dropped. This pizza was loaded. And I mean Loaded, capital L! I must admit, I broke down and picked up knife & fork for this one so I wouldn't drop toppings everywhere while trying to devour this masterpiece of a pizza.
Avalanching in big chunks from the top of the pizza was sausage, green pepper, salami, ham & mushrooms. The toppings were of really good quality also and the crust was not mushy or underbaked in any way due to the amount of toppings. It was perfect. The mushrooms were nice & big so the mushroom flavor didn't "disappear" amongst the other toppings.
Like I said, my husband and I ordered a "small" pizza and between the two of us, we only managed to eat half (and we also have half the bread sticks left over...). I'm not sad over that, I'm very much looking forward to having Petrilli pizza leftovers for the next couple of days ;-)
The fact that it's only take-out can actually be a very good thing! It inspires creativity... such as taking a pizza up to the mountains for a picnic or taking it home & inviting friends over for an adhoc party.
Not a bad thing at all! :)
It's very exciting to find pizza this good in a small town where you thought you knew every good hole in the wall ;-)
Give Petrilli's a try! -

Rancho Cucamonga, CA
I like this place. I've always been treated well by staff. I'm used to really decent pizza since I grew up in NY (I know, it's an old stereotype). It really is the best pizza I've had in CA.
One thing a really good pizza has is a good crust. Good taste, doughy on the inside and just a bit crispy on the outside. Sauce should be there, but not pasty. It should just a bit liquidy. The cheese on top should have some elasticity and taste just slightly salty, but you should still get the dairy/milky taste. These things only come with good ingredients that cost a little bit more, but it is worth it. Petrilli's has all of these going on.
I really like that the crust has a bit of saltiness on the area where you hold it. Yum.
I usually don't get toppings on my pizza as a good pizza really doesn't need it, but their toppings are pretty good. Just know that they REALLY overload your pizza with toppings. You can barely see any cheese when they're done. I know people out here kinda like that so that could be a good thing.
It's worth a try if you haven't tried it. I'm sure you will like it, but you may not feel like spending the extra couple of bucks. Especially when chain places have coupons and people are having a hard enough time feeding their kids. And don't you get pissed when kids eat 2 bites of pizza and throw the rest out?!? If that's you, then get dominoes for your kid and go to this place when it's just the non-picky people.
I think I'll get lunch there tomorrow. I crave this pizza. -

Montclair, CA
I was craving Pizza, and I decided to Yelp a pizza joint. So the reviews looked good and I decided to give it a try.
When I went to pick up the pizza, the place smelled good which is always a good sign. When he handed me the pizza, it was heavy. Being the a self proclaimed pizza expert, I am weary when pizza is loaded with too much stuff because you end up with cold/raw spots.
I took the pizza home and when I opened the box, I was thinking that it was a big mistake. It was totally loaded with toppings and I thought for sure I'd pull a Gordon Ramsay. "RAW!!!!!" But to my delight, the pizza was cooked perfectly. Also the crust wasn't too thick, but it was crispy/firm enough to hold the massive amount of toppings that was on this beast. I wanted to give 5 stars, but I'm pretty sure that the mushrooms were canned, and not fresh (They tasted good, but fresh is ALWAYS better!) Very good pizza, and I will be back. I doubt you'll be disappointed! -

Petrilli's Pizza is the business man! Perfect for pizza-movie nights =)
They have this Mon-Tues special going on where you can order a pizza with any 3 toppings of your choice and get 50% off any appetizer. Got the medium with italian sausages, green peppers, and mushrooms. For the appetizer, we tried the buffalo chicken wings. Sweet deal! Right before we left, they show you how the pizza comes out...
OH-EM-GEE! The sausages were HUGE! (Check out my photos) They seriously pack your pizza with fresh toppings. It looked, smelled, and tasted delicious!! The cheese and crust was perfect too! Not to mention the buffalo wings which were exactly how I liked 'em... spicy and tangy! Oh and they also give you good-sized amounts of dressing. Loved it all! Petrilli's, I'm comin' back!
Note: Take-out because it's small inside. Small is good for two. Medium is good for 3 or more.
Btw, craving dessert? HANDEL'S Homemade is right across from Petrilli's. Thee best ice cream I've had in years!! Feed your sweet tooth 'cause I know I do! ;) -

Thanks to fellow Yelpers for recommending this place. Easy to miss otherwise; it's a small place in a large F&E mall (though they do have a sign at the roadside). Given its proximity to San Biagio, comparisons between the two are inevitable. Both are good in their own ways--this place gives you a ton of ingredients, and their medium feels very heavy; San Biagio's is wider and thinner and perfects the NY style.
The reason why I would give it one notch lower is that the cheese is a bit too chewy for my taste, and the ingredients are more salty (from the dough to the cheese). Also, limited ingredients and their mushrooms are canned not fresh. The crust manages to avoid being soggy, though-- I was worried about that at first since it's only a take-out place.
All in all, a good place, but could be a great place with some small improvements. -

This place is fantastic. It's a ma and pa place. Sure, it's a bit pricey, but they use quality ingredients, the cheese tastes great, and the crust is HEARTY, takes a few second to chew through, it's nice.
A small is definitely enough for two people, and even just the cheese pizza is very satisfying. If you do get toppings, they just pile them on. Great place, definitely worth going to and it worth supporting a ma and pa restaurant. -

You know what's worse than no pizza? Pepperoni pizza with like 4 pieces of pepperoni. Makes you wonder if there's a pepperoni shortage in the world. Well, fear not, I found where all the pepperoni is! It's a Petrilli's!
Petrilli's pepperoni pizza has a plethora of pepperoni. Yeah, I said it, a plethora. And wow is it incredible pizza. Enough cheese to send any lactose intolerant to the john for a good amount of time. Thank god I'm a lactose lover and not hater.
It's especially tasty if you've been making tamales all day and need a lunch break. -

With the time honoured tradition of NY Style Pizza at San Biagio's, we are now presented with a real pizza place that serves Chicago Style Pizza.
The pizza is good. Thick crusted, tasty sauce without being too tangy or over-herbed. Good amounts of cheese and toppings, huge serving size at a reasonable price. I ordered a medium. It was about $20, I made it about 1/4 of the way through it, and I stuffed myself. I think even a small is way too much for 1 person, so buy accordingly. But it's always cool to have leftovers. :o)
Personally, I prefer NY style over Chicago, but this is still really good pizza, and it beats all of the chains hands down.
Next time I want to try the Pizza Bianca (no tomato sauce), because it sounded really good. Truth be told, I would have got it this time had I known they had it.
The only drawback to this place is it's grab and run as others have pointed out, and they close at 9:00pm, which is pretty early for me...but actually late for Upland. In the end though, it's still great to pick pizza up and bring it home...or do another secret parking lot pig out. -

Well, so far Mountain has become a Restaurant Row of sorts for some of the best eats locally. First came Handel's, the best ice cream known to man. Then Claro's, where for a piddling sum, you can feast on some stacked sub sandwiches and some tasty baked goodies (seriously, those raspberry drops are the best thing since sliced bread). Next up is Thai family, a very very good place to find some grub.
And now, we have Petrilli's. Since everyone has different tastes in pizza, you have to get a sense of what someone likes before you can tell if you'll like the same places. For commercial fare, I love the deep dish pizzas from Pizza Hut b/c, well, the crust is laden with tasty, oily, fatty goodness. Next up is Round Table, which I consider to be a very solid pizza. Never really ever cared for Dominoes and think that Papa Johns is overrated. Haven't touched Little Caesar's since I was in High School, so can't comment on them.
For other local places, I tried San Biagio's (next to Handel's) for their "authentic" NY style pizza. Now I am not sure if I didn't care for San Biagio's, or that I just didn't like NY style pizza but regardless, I just didn't care for their pizza. I tried some place in Chicago for their famous deep dish (waited for like 2+ hours) only to realize I did not like "real" deep dish pizza (WAY too much bread).
So there you have it. My pizza tastes for the world to see. Anyhoo, for this place, we ordered the large Petrilli's Special which really just puts all other meat lover's and supreme pizzas to shame. It came as a large 15x20ish sheet. The crust was fairly thick, but needed to be to be able to structurally support all of the goodies on top. The nice thing was that the crust was crispy.
My god was it filling. We barely even touched the calamari (more breading than squid) and the buffalo wings (slightly overcooked, but the sauce is exactly how I like it - baked into the wings and not just slathered on).
Oh and fyi, it's only a take out joint and there's really no place to sit and eat there (much to our chagrin when we walked in expecting to sit down).Listed in: Great Eats in IE!

Oh jeez! This is some great pizza!
Thanks for the tip, Joe W. I mentioned that I had never been there before and the guy (owner, I think) hooked me up! Tons of pepperoni, tons of cheese, tons of black olives. WOW, the pizza weighed tons. Everything was so fresh and the dough was tasty. I can't wait to go back after I stop munching on the leftovers!
The hungry men that I was feeding gave it two cheese covered thumbs up!Listed in: Great eats in my 'hood

Petrilli's had some relation to Petrillo's of San Gabriel (http://www.yelp.com/bi...) and Glendora (http://www.yelp.com/bi... someone yelp this one!) fame, but they recently had to change their name from Petrillo's to Petrilli's for some odd legal reason. Luckily for us, the pizza did not change with the name. (I did visit Petrillo's in San Gabriel recently, and Petrilli's is better.) Unlike the Petrillo's locations, Petrilli's is strictly a take-out operation. There is one table inside, but you probably wouldn't want to eat in there.
I lived in Upland until a couple of months ago, and Petrilli's has the best pizza around. It's definitely a cut above San Biagio's (http://www.yelp.com/bi...), and maybe above Pizza 'N Such (http://www.yelp.com/bi...) as well depending on your taste. More important, however, is that Petrilli's is significantly cheaper than Pizza 'N Such. Blame Claremont.
I recommend a thick crust pie with sausage and onions. You can thank me later. -

MMM! Petrilli's Pizza is GOOD!!!
Actually it's very good. My boyfriend and I went to pick up a 'Hawaiian' pizza last weekend after reading the reviews from the other people and I have to agree with them all.
Let's start with the service: Friendly and very personable. (We went back again this weekend and they totally remembered us! Now that's good customer service.
Pizza: Well like I said, we got the 'Hawaiian' and it was delicious! The pineapples were juicy as hell. I think they use fresh ones instead of frozen ones so they natural juices are baked in. Also... the portion of the meat (we got italian sausage) was abundant. We only ordered a medium but that was plenty for a couple of days. -

Wow, crazy! I could have sworn I already rated this place.
This is by far the best pizza place in the whole of the Inland Empire. Great fresh toppings and ingredients meet with an amazing crust that never disappoints. Although they do not deliver I live close by so I usually order on my way home.
They offer salads, garlic bread and soda's (in liters and cans) as well. Their salads are just basic iceberg lettuce Italian style salads. Nothing impressive here. They do however offer a few different types of soda for those picky pure sugar drinker's if that's your thing. Their garlic bread is decent but the main reason to eat here is the pizza. Nothing like it in town.
It puts domino's (closest I'll come to reviewing lame places, as everyone already knows about them and knows its just nasty fast food) and all others to shame -

Sundays are my Fat Days. I'm currently on a health kick, but I allow the holy day to be my holy day to inhale whatever I want.
This Fat Day, after a fiesta at Taco Bell for lunch, I thought...Pizza is in store for dinner. Brahahhhahahaha. So I "yelped" popular pizza places in the area (I'm new hurr peeps) and saw Petrilli's as promising.
Boy was it! I ordered a small (which was pretty big) with pepperoni and olives (my favorite) and it was STUFFED with toppings. Amazing. The crust wasn't my favorite. It didn't stand out to me. The pizza was very good, the guys were really friendly there, so for another Fat Day I'd come back. It's not really a place you go to sit and eat, you usually go to pick it up which is fine. :) -

I have searched and searched in all corners in the area near me and was on a mission to find the best pizza around.
This place not only met my expectations but exceeded them. Everything you need or crave on a pizza, this place has it. Generous toppings and mouth watering smell and lets not forget the pizza box that weighs a good 10lbs. I'm very picky when it comes to my food and to top it off I strolled in this place like the angry customer from hell; and left a plump happy customer. My new go to spot without a doubt. -

WOW!!!
Based on the reviews on Yelp, I decided that I had to try this place. I walked in and I asked the cashier for their best pizza. She recommended their specialty pizza so I went with that. I picked up the box and this thing weighed a ton!! I got home and opened up the box and I couldn't believe what I saw. This thing was STACKED with toppings!! The sausage came in giant chunks. I could only eat 4 slices and I was full! This is some darn good pizza!
While I was picking it up, I could see them making the pizza. They made the dough by hand. They threw stacks of cheese on top of it. As I was watching, I knew this was going to be a good pizza. Never in my mind did I imagine that it would be THAT GOOD!
Best pizza ever.
