Called PGG for a 2nd opinion on foundation issues with my home. I reached out and got Bryan, he was great on the phone and knowledgeable! No complaints with him at all!!!!
After our conversation I was asked to sign a contract. The contract I was asked to sign stated an hourly rate totally understandable and mileage billing, then went into extra costs for a job that wouldn't relate to mine.
I met with Brian on site for 35 minutes at my home and he sent 1 email with a follow up after.
I received a bill a month later for almost $700. They billed me a half hour for the discussion to find out if they could even help before I signed that contract which was a $110. Then they billed me for 2.5 hours for site visit, and discuss with homeowner $550.00 and $17 mileage which is reasonable. I emailed back upset at that bill. They took off the original phone call as they should since I hadn't signed anything at that point. However, he was onsite 35 minutes and sent 1 email which they say was 30 minutes. Then they inform me that I was being charged an hour drive time for a total 24 mile trip.
When I disputed the drive time saying it didn't state that in the contract just mileage. I was told it was a "time and materials" contract which included "ALL" time. I have no issues again paying what is right. I am just disappointed that this wasn't better explained. Also, my fault for not asking, but I had never dealt with a contract like this before. My recommendation going forward is they may want to make sure that when dealing with residential and not commercial clients or contracts that they really spell that out. Ended up paying $450 dollars for something that I thought was only going to be around $250. If you are a residential person just beware, keep your documentation and know what you are signing from them.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Scott W.Gilbert, AZ413417Dec 22, 2009First to Review
I have worked with Peterson Geotechnical on several projects over the past few years. I have found them to be honest and committed to seeing a job done right.
