I chose this place based on their website, because they promised me "pain free" dental work. I'll admit it.... I'm a wuss. I hate the dentist's office, I hate them poking around in my mouth, I hate them judging me about my (poor) flossing habits. Last year my dentist announced that I needed a root canal & just like that, I broke up with him & never went back.

I returned just a few hours ago from Dr. Peritore's office with a partial root canal that was performed completely unbeknownst to me! WHAT? I thought that he was just cleaning the tooth in question, prepping me for my worst nightmare at a later date. He started pressing around my gums & soon after- half of my face went numb. I asked if he had given me Novocain & he admitted that he had. "It's justht not pothiblle," I argued quite slovenly. Oh, but he had. Soon after he had the dead nerve out & I had no friggin' idea. That's pretty amazing coming from someone that nearly cried during her last set of gum injections.

Just do it. Your teeth are only going to get worse if you don't start fixing them today & this guy is delivering exactly what he promises. Excellent choice for scaredy cats!

Totally Agree with Jaci H. - she really summed it up.

The woman at the front desk was very rude. That's all I'm going to say even though there is a long drawn out story about what happened. Then on my second visit there was another older woman that was so nice. The dentist was good. He did smell a little bit like cigarettes but it didn't bother me. They only do white fillings. But so far I haven't had any sensitivity. Which I usually do. The dental hygienist was so sweet!

If you don't LOVE your smile be prepared to be sold some sort of whitening system as well as Invisalign. Kind of annoying.

Overall, it was an okay experience.  I didn't have too many expectations and went in for a general check-up and cleaning.  I had a groupon and knew that it was a risk since businesses that use that service are trying to draw in new customers.  I figured if it was a fabulous experience, I would have found a new dentist to go to regularly.

The staff was polite and professional.  The office was clean and convenient.  I was able to make an appointment without any real issue and didn't have to wait long.

Right away I noticed that it was super salesy - which is fine, I understand that this is a business. They had me fill out a questionnaire about how happy I am with my smile.  It was pretty silly and seemed like a tactic to make the average person feel self conscious about their teeth.

The dental hygienist sat me down and prepped me for Xrays and the cleaning.  I found it really weird that they take photos of you for "their records."  I had to sit there in the chair while they snapped a portrait of me, which ended up looking like a prison photo and then all these weird pics of my teeth with mirrors inside my mouth.  I understand that this might be necessary if I'm doing a ton of work, but I"m there for a cleaning - it took longer to prep me for the cleaning then it did to clean my teeth.

I forget the name of the woman who took care of me, but she was really great.  She did a good job on my teeth, was a gentle as possible and made the experience pleasant (for a cleaning).

If you're going for a cleaning, I think this place is just fine.  I don't know what they normally charge, but I was very satisfied with the results.

Then the dentist came in - this is where things got awkward.  I know  his time must be very precious, so he was only there for a few minutes.
I'll be honest, I didn't like him and I think he was trying to scare me into some unnecessary surgery to remove my wisdom teeth.  I was very complacent with the whole situation, which he probably noticed and didn't appreciate.  Perhaps he was genuinely concerned with the well-being of my teeth, but I really didn't get that vibe from him.  He was actually a bit mean about everything and I couldn't wait to get the hell out of there.

In the end I have to get a cavity filled, but I'll take my business elsewhere.

Look - if you're going to have a groupon available for people, don't be smug when they're only interested in getting their teeth cleaned and not forking over thousands of dollars for unnecessary surgeries.  Even if I did need surgery, I would certainly get a second opinion.

As for the woman who cleaned my teeth - thank you.  I truly appreciated your professionalism.

Had an OK experience. Nothing to write home about. The staff in his office are very friendly. Dr. Peritore seems to know what he's talking about and he did a good enough job on my teeth. However, he does smell like cigarettes. The only thing I really didn't like about my experience at the office is the cold calls about getting Invisilign. It's too expensive and I told them I couldn't afford it at the time, but they persisted until I persisted "NO I'm NOT interested."

    Was this review …?
