I got told about Peter Pan from 2 different sources, but had always avoided it since it looks like a dive from the outside. What this place lacks in atmosphere is made up for in good food at a good price with good service.

The dessert display is HUGE. Almost any type of cake you could possibly want.

Peter Pan diner is a busy place mostly frequented by locals. There's a "lounge" area and a "diner", with the only difference being that the diner has a counter and brighter lighting, and the lounge has some TVs. They are open 24 hours and serve everything under the sun.

For Breakfast, you'll get a lot of food at an extremely fair price. My experience started off badly as a coffee cup was delivered with lipstick, and there was some confusion about who would be waiting on my table.  I found the breakfast menu, which was curiously in the back of the multipage menu, and found all of the expected items. I received a clean cup and ordered 2 eggs over medium, rye toast with butter and sausage. Less than 5 minutes later, I was chowing down.

Its always good to get fast service for breakfast as you're often in a hurry, and you couldn't have cooked eggs any faster. They were prepared properly (not runny, not scorched). The bread was slathered with butter and it included a large portion of hash browns. The sausage was well done (obviously precooked and kept warm for a long time), and the hash browns were unseasoned and required heavy salt and peppering. Coffee was good; but they don't trust their customers with sweet and low so you'll have to ask for it if thats you're thing.

Personally, I wouldn't go out of my way to eat at the Peter Pan diner, but for $7. with tip I wouldn't recommend avoiding it either.

Same old...same old...Peter Pan's food is more mediocre than some of the less mediocre Greek diners across the country.  Standard fare, large portions, nice bread basket, dilligent wait staff, open until the wee hours. Somewhat shabby.

I go to peter pan about twice a week. It is a DINER so go there with those expectations. The place has a huge menu and everything is pretty good. If you are homophobic you might wanna stay clear of this spot... Interesting crowd...I saw this rad dude there last week with a FULL HANDLE BAR MUSTACHE! This is my favorite local place for breakfast. Its a good price and they have great sausage (not a gay joke). Early Bird special is awesome if you're hungy 3-5... you get soup and dessert. Peter Pan is also open 24 hours nice for drunken eats. Service is decent however one waitress gives me the creeps and never gets my hashbrowns well done for me. Also the lady who looks like Nancy Botwin from weeds at the register is kinda smug and not friendly. Despite this I still give Peter Pan a 3.5 and keep comming back.

I gave this 5 stars not because Peter Pan Diner is the Le Cirque of Ft Lauderdale, but because it is outstanding at what it should be doing,i.e., diner food. The waitresses at Peter Pan are just what I'm looking for when I'm seeking comfort food- kind, helpful, chatty, enthusiastic, and they call me "honey".
I had the most delicious chicken breast sandwich with baked feta cheese. I must tell you, this was quite possibly the best sandwich I ever had. Thank God for old school places like Peter Pan diner.

We made a late night trip to Peter Pan on a Saturday night as it's one of the only places in ft lauderdale that serves a full menu 24/7.

Our waitress was enjoyable and displayed great service even at 2am.
I ordered a Greek salad - it was massive. and about 7.95. Nothing special, but it was pretty good. Full of chicken, olives, peppers and feta cheese.
My friends ordered pancakes and french toast. they were as happy as it gets.
We also ordered one of their massive chocolate chip cookies. It could have been a bit fresher but was pretty good.

I am sure i will be making more trips in the future..

The gem AND the rough to go along with it! Good diner food and wacky service!

Peter Pan is a godsend for bleary-eyed partiers and those who work late and still want a full meal. Or breakfast. Or lunch. It doesn't matter because they serve all foods at all hours, they never close. I love this place, even though I have walked out once because nobody knew we existed. Eh, on average it's better than average.

For dinner-type food I favor the Greek stuff, since a Greek family owns it. They took the Greek combo platter (pastichio, moussaka, spinach pie) off the menu, but if you ask for it you will get it. I always ask for dressing on the side of my Greek salad, otherwise I end up with dressing soup with salad floating in it.

Breakfast is breakfast, not much to say that's remarkable.

The waitresses are sassy here (that seems to be a trend in the Lauderdale area), but if you go with it you will get good service and enjoy yourself. Most times the service is good, but on a few occasions I felt like I was invisible (shift change?).

I agree that this restaurant is favorite of the blue-haired set: in the daytimes and early evenings the blue haired roll in wheelchairs. Late at night they bounce in from a dance club and are substantially younger. You could film a documentary here in 24 hours and present it as a slice-of-life. Between the food and the ambiance this place will hold your interest. Not perfect, but satisfying and enjoyable.

Ugh.
I went there for breakfast.  First impression is that it's a bit skeevy.  We were being put in a booth that looked skanky, so we got up and moved to a table.  We got reprimanded for it by a waitress that was on break sitting in another skanky booth.  The food was a bit better than disgusting, so maybe if you're a bit stoned at 3 am and a bit peckish, maybe...

Convenient 24-hour diner with a mostly senior citizen (both straight and gay) clientele at lunch and a mostly gay post-bar/club crowd during the wee hours.  Depending on the time of day, there can be very interesting people-watching.

Beyond-huge portions, and beyond-cheap prices.  Wherever they get their tomatoes, I want to know.  They are really good tomatoes.  And two other people, without me saying it first, have said the same thing :).

The burgers are good although can be a little burnt on the edges.  The fries are good but in overabundance.  My favorite thing to get is just a sandwich or one of the specials.  As the owner's family is Greek, the simple Greek food is very good.  The one with pork chunks and a large pita (forget its name), the gyro platter, the Greek salads, even the mixed sampler of Greek specialties...is really good and not too "perfumy"/potpourri-spiced like Greek food often gets.  One of my favorite steals there on the specials menu is the veal shank with orzo for like $6.  It's a whole huge shank that's braised perfectly so that it falls off the bone.  You could probably share this and a Greek side salad with someone and it'd be enough.

As for the American-Italian dishes, the lasagna is huge and super cheesy...but nothing special.  Stay away from the spaghetti and meatballs.

Btw: you can get mixed drinks here delivered from the bar in the back.  They are heavy on the rocket fuel.

Wheelchairs and twinks.

A 24 hour diner that caters to the old and young all in one convenient spot off 95. The food portions are of really nice size and it isnt expensive at all. I actually wound up eating all my food plus a few knife and forks of my friends pancakes. The staff is pretty friendly from what i took and the owner Peter is quite de-lish looking if i must say. There is a bar area as well for all of you lushes out there and a dessert case straight out of Denny's off Rte. 66.

Good food -

Hmmm... what to say about Peter Pan Diner... Well, it's a good place to get some cheese eggs and potatoes at 2:00 a.m.  They also serve beer (much to my pleasant surprise).  I was there with a group of about 9 and there was ample seating for us, our order was taken quickly and correctly, and the food was the perfect thing to end a night out on the town.

All-in-all a pretty good experience, but when it came time to pay things got a little tricky.  At first they weren't going to split up our bill... then the waitress asked someone and she was going to be allowed to... then she split things up and then decided not to split it for each person, instead just grouping 2 or 3 of us together on the same check.

I doubt I would go there for dinner, but for a late night snack after leaving the club it's probably the best bet in Wilton Manors.  Ask for Shirley. :)

I'm surprised this place has gotten such bad reviews.  We've been here about 3 times for breakfast at breakfast time.  It's not amazing food, but for the price OMG you can't beat it unless you go to McDonalds.  We've had good service, the desserts are yummy, it's open 24 hrs.  I'll go back and would suggest it to anyone else in the area.
