I love Pete. I'm a total newbie to the world of high finance and big mortgages but he helped us find a great mortgage at a reasonable rate. And when the hubbie needed help getting his taxes done Pete recommended a really great tax preparer who helped get everything completed on time. Pete is also super nice...as in he patiently explains all those numbers and didn't blink an eye when I was outraged by how much interest the bank will make off of our loan (I mean really!) Pete is the best and I definitely recommend his services.

Pete was great. I was looking to buy on a short time frame and Pete got me the finance in less than 3 weeks! He was also really good in laying out the details on my effective monthly costs for various prices for condos and TICs (interest rates vary for both). That helped me narrow down what I wanted to look at, which made an huge impact as I had a short time to look at places.
We used Pete for our first refinance a couple of years ago. But he really shined as he helped us again through our 2nd refinance - this time into the 30-fixed that we were really hoping for. He knew our constraints and kept his eyes on the rates. As soon as they went low enough for us, he let us know and locked in the rate with the lender. Well, at the last minute, just before signing, the lender disagreed with our home appraisal value and denied the loan!
We figured that was the end of that and we had lost our opportunity for security with a 30-year fixed. Well, not with Pete! He managed to find another lender that was willing to honor the same low rate and all the terms & conditions. Then that lender was SLOOOWWWWW. But Pete kept on their tails, got a rate lock extension and managed to make the whole thing go through. As I said, we had lost hope, but Pete helped make it happen ... I still don't quite know how.
And as you've read before, he came to the signing to answer questions. Even better, he entertained our bored 10-month-old while we were trying to sign those million papers! He's great. A nice guy ... answers all questions, even when we've already asked the same questions several times, and never loses patience. Excellent to work with and we'd highly recommend him to anyone.
I was referred Pete about seven months ago. I had a tight timeframe (a short financing contingency period) and Pete was able to line up a mortgage for me at an excellent rate. He was always available to answer my questions and came to the closing to make sure all went smoothly. He was knowledgeable, easy to work with, and delivered. I would absolutely work with him again.
Wow, Pete Garcia (my mortgage broker) basically did everything for me to become a homeowner in San Francisco! Not only did he make the bloody mess of paperwork and financial data seem clear and easy, he actually went so far as to find us the home that we ended up purchasing - a real winner!
Pete is totally on the ball all of the time. His contientiousness can really make the process of home purchasing in SF a lot easier. I highly recommend going to one of his free new home buyer's seminars. Three months after I attended one of these, I was in a great new house of my own!

We also used Pete, and I have nothing but good things to say about him.
In terms of rates, he beat a competing lender who I felt pretty certain would be unbeatable.
Also, as first time homebuyers, my wife and I really appreciated that Pete took the time to walk us through the many, many options and line-items to explain each and every fee, what each was for, what our monthly mortgage payments would look like, what our tax savings might be, etc.
Also--and I understand this is sort of rare--Pete showed up at our house the night of the closing to walk us through all of the papers as the notary was having us sign them. This was great, and really added to our peace of mind. We had heard horror stories of buyers finding all sorts of added expenses at closing, but having Pete there to explain all of this as we signed each paper really set us at ease.
On top of all of this, he's just a nice guy and, as others have said, easy to reach. Hands down recommendation here!

I was so intimidated by the idea of a home purchase - I really didn't understand the process so I attended one of Pete's home buying seminars. 1 month to the day later, I made my first offer, it was accepted and the financing was already in place. Pete helped move the process along without me really having to do anything (except sign my name a million times). He even came to the boring closing and kept me company while I signed the million forms- above and beyond!! Thanks Pete
Let's start from the end...Pete came to our signing at our house on a Sunday night ! Enuf said but I must go on. Pete kept us, and there were multiple parties in our transaction, informed timely and appropriately. Unlike others we have experienced, he didn't give us useless and uninformative emails just to be doing something. As expected the loan process is time consuming and Pete took us through it with great care. There are just people in the world who have a pride and passion about their work, Pete is one of them. Truly a great ambassador for his profession. We can not recommend him more highly. He came to our signing at our house on a Sunday night because he wanted to "be around in case there are last minute questions" ! Okay so we had 4 people in our deal and it was complicated but come on, a million emails and calls and meetings, you'd think the guy would just skip this one little thing, but oh no, not Pete Garcia.
Pete did a miraculous job with our tight timeline & complicated (or so i thought) needs!
We had a super short closing period, and he managed to get everything in line and ready for us with no problems.
He walked us through everything thoroughly and was patient and helpful through every step.
We HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Pete Garcia, Mortgage Broker.
Pete is now the mortgage broker I trust above all others. After going through the purchase/refinance of several homes in the Bay Area, and working with some mortgage brokers who were low in integrity, Pete is my dream mortgage broker! He is straight about what is available for your circumstances and financial strategy, respectful of his clients, and best yet - he leaves an alternative contact the few times he might be out of town when you need answers! He calls when he says he will, and delivers what he commits to delivering. I recommend Pete Garcia wholeheartedly, and without reservation.

Pete saved my arse! Pete found this great rate for me, right as rates were starting to rise. He locked it in, we did our thing, then the company went all slimy, trying to get out of giving me the low rate they promised. Weeks later, my realtor told me to give up on it, and I was disheartened, but Pete wasn't done yet. He caught them in their web of deception, and they honored their original commitment. If it wasn't for Pete I'd be writing a much higher check every month. Thanks, Pete!
We first worked with Pete 3 yrs ago in our first TIC adventure. He was great in guiding us through the mind boggling world of TIC financing. We liked him so much, we recently came back for seconds in another loan. He was very patient in explaining the various pros & cons as I waivered back & forth between different mortgage options. A nice guy & very knowledgeable in his arena. Thanks a bunch, man.
Without sounding too Californian, Pete is "AWESOME." As first time buyers we were totally intimidated by the whole process no matter how many books I read (and I read a few). He was so patience right from the very beginning. No question was ever too dumb and no question was ever left unanswered. He went over every case scenario we threw at him and it always came out in our favor. Oh, did I mention the great rate we got. Wait there's more. He recommended our agent who was equally as good. The whole transition was smooth as silk. I can't say enough about how great it was to work with Pete and exalt his name every time I hear someone mention they're thinking of buying a house.
Having worked with a mortgage broker before, and also directly with lenders, I have to give Pete my highest recommendation. He helped our group of 3 TIC owners navigate the refinancing complications of a condo conversion. He herded us along the process and cracked the whip with a weak Title Company. We got a great rate and great service within the timeframe we required. And he's a really nice guy!
