OK...second review on this place...I don't like it here!  It is the closest place to where I live to get dog supplies...they don't carry the brands that I am use to and that my dog enjoys...PetSmart does!!!  This time I couldn't get anyone to help me...suddenly this lady shows up and I ask her a question and she replies, "I just started here how would I know."  WTF???  So, I went up to the counter and spoke to the cashier and she was NO HELP at all.  What a huge change from a couple of months ago...So, I went down to BevMo and bought some Stoli to ease the pain away.

I particularly like this pet store because of the helpful employees.  I have a couple of cats that are a complete disaster and enjoy chewing through every electrical chord we have.  When I asked an employee at Petco if they had a solution, they gave me a couple of ideas, all of which were very helpful.

When you adopt a new pet, they give you a coupon book full of discounts for the basics: collars, food, and miscellaneous supplies.  There's only been one time that they were out of my type of cat food, but they were able to tell me when they were getting a new shipment in.  They have great deals and send you coupons in the mail if you sign up for their PALS card.  Also, when you buy 10 bags of pet food, they mail you coupon for one free.  It's a great deal if you ask me, especially if you go through a lot of pet food like me.  They have a great selection of all things pets, and are reasonably priced.

So, the main reason I always come to petco is for rats for feeding my snake. Petsmart doesn't sell rats for feeding. I think that's ridiculous. Snakes have to eat food too, what do you think they eat in the wild? If they're so worried about animal rights, they should learn how to properly care for THEIR own first. I've seen countless stories of mistreated hamsters, birds, etc. at petsmart. I've even seen pictures. Petco always has everything I need. So, i give petco 4 stars for being smarter than petsmart.

I would give them 5, but i'm not crazy about the atmosphere at petco. It's kind of dull, not that a pet store needs the best atmosphere. Also, sometimes it can be hard to flag down an employee.
