Worst customer service and most unkempt store I've ever seen. Loads of empty shelves and pallets of new items yet to put away just shoved down every isle so you can't move around.

I used to go here all the time for my cats' needs. It was also super convenient and only 7 minutes from my house. The staff are very nice. But this store is literally always out of stock in everything. I would try again a few days later, but had the same problem. I have also placed orders online where the website says "in stock" at that store, just to get another email minutes later that my order was cancelled because it wasn't in stock. This has happened several times. I stopped going, and go to PetSmart in Newington now, because I can actually find what I need. Seriously, you guys would have more business if you restocked your inventory when things run out. So many empty shelves/fixtures. It's super frustrating..

Awful customer service. Was talking to an employee then they just walk away while I'm trying to purchase an animal. The animals also seem extremely stressed, too many lizards in together of different sizes. Petco has an awful reputation as a chain pet store.
You should really think about taking better care of your animals and less on profits.

I used to work at this petco and had to leave to go to college and when I came back as a customer (after not being there for more than 6 months) with my friend to buy food for our pets, the aquatics specialist Beth held her hand in the air and flipped me off as I was waiting to check out. I hadn't said a word to her the entire time I was there, there were other customers around, and there are cameras everywhere. I'm unsure what she was trying to accomplish but it was incredibly unprofessional.

Just once, I would like to come here and have my order rung up correctly including my coupons.
The last time I was overcharged by $4 because the girl didn't know how to take off the coupon I handed her, so she just pretended to scan it and stuck it on top of the register.
I always make it a point to check my receipts when I get to the car, especially here at Petco because they don't have a screen where I can watch what's being rung up. Sometimes things that are on sale don't ring up at sale price, coupons don't come off, etc.
Tonight, I was overcharged by $7.48 because the manager who rang us up was in such a rush to get us out of there that she didn't properly read the coupons I handed her.
It may not seem like a lot of money to some people, but it all adds up, really fast since I shop here quite often.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Sep 4, 2015Previous reviewJust brought our Boxer here for the first time tonight for a full service bath/facial/nail grinding, he's turning 2 on Monday and we decided to pamper him a little. The groomers are great, the price is right and he smells delightful! We paid an extra $5 for a "blueberry facial mask," its supposed to help with the tear stains, but I don't really see a difference. The bandana was an added bonus. We shop here all the time for dog food and toys, and will definitely be doing the full service bath again in the near future!

I live nearby and usually go here for pet needs out of convenience. Last time, my cashier was talking, but so quiet that she was impossible to hear. I'm 23, nothing wrong with my hearing. I asked her to repeat herself a couple times, until I realized she wasn't going to speak up, so I just let it be. To this day I have no clue what she was saying. The thing I find most horrible about this store is looking through the reviews, it looks like the store is copying and and pasting responses, with maybe a small tweak here or there. It really shows that NOBODY at petco cares. Please straighten out your store, employees, management, and the process of replying to your customers.

Extremely friendly staff! Every time I go you would think the check out people were best friends with everyone. They all seem knowledgeable and enthusiastic about their jobs. They offer to help on occasion but not in the excessive uncomfortable way that other retailers do.

Complete 0 rating from me and the others that I was with and witnessed. My boyfriend, his friends and I went into the Dover Petco yesterday and tried to buy a getco. Other than the fact the worker (who I didn't identify his name- but with the half shaved head, Caucasian, brown haired) tried to convince us otherwise to getting the pet, tried to prove his point by letting the getco get loose then PULLS IT DOWN by its friggin tail to the point it FALLS OFF THE PET and bleeds out everywhere. I cannot fathom how mad I am and I sure as hell am never going back here again. Get some better employees who ENJOY their job and love the animals. Horrible experience.

Great place that has everything you need for your pet. I bring my yorkies here to get groomed. Sarah is very sweet, gentle and patient with them.
The store lets you bring your animals in as long as they're on a leash. Toto seems to know it's his store and always goes wild in there. They do animal adoptions here and pet fashion shows. I think it was the first time this groomer Jess has ever groomed a Husky. She said that a manager had walked into the grooming area and my dog snapped at her because she was brushing its hind legs. My thought is, she was brushing to hard and the dog needed to let the groomer know. So since the dog snapped, not bitting her or marking a mark. My dog is NO longer allowed at Petco.
My dog has been groomed at Petco six times before she met the groomer Jess, and had no problems. Jess had even brushed my dogs teeth with no problems. ( or that's what she said). My dog is not aggressive and should not have been banned. My suggestion for others, pick one groomer and stick with them. And don't leave your dog at Petco to be groomed alone. The groomers are not trained to handle dogs with a little bit of attitude. If they brush your dog in an unpleasant way and snap they will be banned from Petco as well.
I am truly sad that my dog can't go to Petco to be groomed and wish I had been more consistent with her groomer!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information
