Coffee and service at this mom-and-pop-style coffee shop is probably the best reason to continue commuting to work from the Chicago burbs.
Quick, commuter-centric, time-sensitive coffee service is central to the Geneva Metra Station and offers regular customers a "we know you" atmosphere.
Great coffee, multitude of quick-grab snacks and more.
Feels like a diner run by your own family. No use for high-brow foodie culture, but able to get you the best espresso you require AS your train to Chicago arrives.
This is THE reason I go to the Geneva Metra train station instead of LaFox.

Get your morning coffee here!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Randall M.St. Charles, IL693May 20, 2019
A perfect way to add a 1 minute vacation to your commute! Step in, get a good cup of joe or a latte and take 5 deep breaths. Stay warm in the winter and cool in the summer. They understand time and will chat when there is time but won't hold you (or the person in front of you) up if the train is coming.
They are clearly mostly for commuting based on location and hours, but still have perfectly reasonable seating. The shop is always spic and span and there is a restroom available to customers (I would pay $2.50 to not use a metra restroom every time).
The price to performance ratio is far better than a chain coffee shop. The service is great. Contactless payment is supported, for when you're in a rush. It was literally 7 seconds from order to coffee.
I asked and tips are super optional. They don't harangue you for them at every step of the purchase, so bring a dollar for the tip jar or mention it before they close out the transaction. But they do pay their employees a full wage.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ray And Kathy D.South Elgin, IL57152Mar 23, 2019
No problems with the people or the store. Everyone is very friendly it's just that my coffee was bad. I'm trying new places and I haven't found coffee as good as arcedeim. Prices are very reasonable but I'd pay extra for espresso that doesn't taste burnt.

It's -3 degrees outside, so we came in to grab a coffee while we waited for the train. The man serving us was so rude! I understand you have a full house of people waiting inside your shop because it's cold, but you have to assume this will happen with your location being directly across from the train. Please don't take out your frustration on us buying customers. Along with the negative attitude we received, the coffee was terrible. Tasted like burnt coffee from a hotel lobby. Definitely won't stop in here again - no matter how cold it is.

Very rude service. Kicked us out in the rain and the cold even when we were gonna buy something. Just get Starbucks and wait for the train in your car.

The most caring and down-home cafe West of Downtown Chicago. Everyone is lovely, and everything tastes great! If you're an early bird flying into Geneva, I highly recommend Perk Up.

I actually have no words for this place and the people that work here. One lady, I believe she is the owner, is probably the rudest woman I have ever met. It actually baffles me. She should not work at a place that involves interacting with people, may she should switch over to being a graveyard keeper. Not to mention the food and coffee is terrible. Do not give your money to this place.

I cannot believe this place gets good reviews! It's uncanny, the reviews must be written by their own employees, or the owners themselves. My friends and I in town looking at the historic town of Geneva, we wanted coffee, but we wanted some more traditional then Starbucks. After searching on Google, this place came up right away, so we decided to try it. Little did we know, this place is full of rude employees, the owners were very rude to my friend because he "supposedly took to long in line to order his coffee" Seriously? We never been here before. What a dump, honestly. That is no way to treat customers!
This place needs to NEW management!
***One more thing- they're way over priced for a little shack in Geneva!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jennifer G.New York, NY7481174Oct 23, 2014
Great coffee.....very friendly and professional service. I've been coming to Geneva train station for three years now and never stopped in... today i needed to take a cab to the station...the cab was a bad experience (made me late for the train). I ended up being 'stuck' at the station for over an hour while i waited for the next one to come along. Great free wi-fi, great coffee (not like the bitter burned taste of a certain chain).
I walked in, visibly irritated by the inept cab experience I just had, ...ordered a 12 oz coffee - finished it and decided to order another and a bottle of water. The lady gave me the coffee refill gratis and charged for the water bottle. I can't say how much that small gesture meant. It turned a bad start into a day good. That gesture will make me want to return! Glad to support a local business that is so nice!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
