Categories: Leather Goods, Motorcycle Dealers [Edit]
Neighborhood: SouthwestThis motorcycle clothing and accessory shop offers excellent customer service and great selection of motorcycling and scootering gear. I'm a newbie when it comes to motorcycles and the folks at Performance Cycle are very knowledgeable and helpful. I went in every day for 3 days straight after I bought a scooter - I would've gone more, but they were probably starting to think I was nuts! I was just trying to figure it all out and buy the right gear. Prices on helmets and jackets are identical to online prices that I found elsewhere.

We just bought a scooter and I needed a helmet, so we went to Performance Cycle 'cause they are open on a Monday. Purchased an open face helmet and basically changed my mind to a full face the second i walked out the door.
Got home and called them up - while there are no 'returns' on helmets they were perfectly willing to exchange it for another one.
The customer service (Lance in particular) was great. They were really helpful with narrowing down a selection in my price range AND helped me find the correct fit. They didn't even laugh too much at me pulling OFF these helmets like a dog with a bucket stuck on its head.
The exchange was no problem and i got a safer, cooler looking helmet. There is a lot of other cool stuff there I will definitely give them my business again even though i can order stuff online - the nice customer service and knowledgeable staff sealed the deal.

I ride both street bikes and dirt bikes, and this facility caters to both quite well. Not only that, but they also carry a large selection of kids and women's sizes in riding gear. Have questions about trails? They have the answer. Need a spark plug for your bike, but can't remember which one? They have a big ass book to look it up in for you.
If you want the flashy, "hey everybody look at me! I am a BIKER!!" look, they carry it. If you want the "hey I just want to save my skin" basic leather gear, they have that in abundance as well. Plus a good selection of Fox, Thor, etc t-shirts that are comfy!
I would give them five stars, but the guy at the counter guessed that my Buell was the Blast, which is the small, starter bike that Buell made back in '99. I ride as S1 Lightning, baby! :)

First, just take a look at their website, the zooming noises give you a sense of the kind of store this is. If you are still in doubt, just drive by, and you can tell what kind of rider they are selling to by the kinds of motorcycles in the parking lot.
I ride a 1982 Yamaha. It is not made of plastic and chrome. I do not dress like a ninja to ride it. And I go online to get kick-ass helmets without naked ladies or skulls or flames on them.
So this is not a store for me. They sensed that when I went in, and I didn't get a good vibe.
IF you are into that kind of bike, this would definitely be a worthwhile stop, but I still think you'd find the prices to be a little high.
