"I have been coming here for years to get my brows done. I have tried other places but I keep coming back. When they still had their brow…" read more »
I've been coming here off and on for the past couple of years for a pedi and I guess to sum it all up, it's a hit or miss depending on who you get of course. You can always count on being rushed and the numerous times they up-sell you on things you don't want like previous Yelpers had mentioned. The only thing that I can say they makes me keep on coming back is how they actually wrap a plastic bag around the foot bath so you are actually not touching the bath itself. To me, that is a big plus since I've never seen any other establishments do that. In addition, they pull out their individually wrapped instruments. For what it is, the price isn't bad and their customer service isn't horrible.
I've been going here for about 6 months now and the only person I see is Heidi. She can do a mani/pedi/eyebrow wax in less then 30 mins and it's all perfect! i'm so picky about my french mani and after years of searching, i've finally found someone who can do it right!

Does anyone remember that scene in "Syriana" where George Clooney's character gets his fingernails ripped off? The operative word here, of course, is "ripped off," in more ways than one. I got a manicure on Saturday. Today is Wednesday and I still have dried blood on my cuticles. The polish itself started to peel off within two hours of drying, so I ended up taking it off the next day, which was lots of fun with the cuts I had all over my fingers. I asked the manicurist to fix one of the nails she had filed diagonally and she just gave me a blank look and said it was fine. I was stupid, stupid, stupid enough to tip her $5 (the manicure was $18) and she looked at me like I was totally cheap. I swear I could have done a better job with my eyes closed.
Usually I go to Daly City to get my nails done, but since this place was in the mall and closer to where I live I decided to go there. My first choice was Super Nails because they have a students special, but it was too busy and I was in a rush.
The lady who did my pedi was nice and did a good job, but it wasnt the best I've gotten. It was sort of weird because they had portable spas which I've never seen before. Anyways she took her time and make a very cute design and whatnot. But the whole thing cost $37, for just a pedicure. I could have gone to the other place and gotten a mani & pedi for less. It was a total rip off, even though the pedi was nice, it wasnt worth $37.
My roommate got gel nails and they cost her $45, and it was a sloppy job. If you want to get ripped off for a mediocre job, then you should go.
A few months back on a whim, me and my friend decided to get our first mani/pedi and it turned out horrible.
My manicure only lasted 3 days before it started chipping. Not only that, but my nails were filed very crooked and there were air bubbles on my nails.
It was VERY uncomfortable. I was seated on a metal chair while one did my eyebrow and lip wax (since she was super persuasive, but I shouldn't have given in), another my mani and the other my pedi. All three kept insisting I get more and more work on because they wanted to make me "look pretty for my boyfriend" (think Anjelah Johnson's nail salon stand-up bit). I tried so hard to contain myself from laughing because that's exactly how they sounded like.
The tipping point of this experience would be the lady who cut my poor toe and made it bleed because she was trying to cut my toenail. She had no regard into how it would make me feel....until I had to literally scream out when she cut into my skin. Freakin' hurt like a bitch!
$56 for a mani/pedi, eyebrow and lip wax. Super fast, but totally not worth the pain my big toe suffered since my birthday was the day after. I would suggest to go somewhere else! =(

I've been going to Perfect Fingers since 1996 and although the rest of the staff is nice to me, the 5 stars goes to Stephanie!! She does great gel nails! They always come out perfect! Tammy who sits next to her is really great at pedicures! I go to Mae for waxing!! I will admit I will cheat on Perfect Fingers and sometimes go somewhere else for a pedicure or try other places for waxing, BUT I NEVER LET ANYONE TOUCH MY GELS NAILS! I have had many people become addicted to Stephanie! She is very detailed and has been there the longest!! I will admit my gels are not cheap there, but I cannot trust anyone with them!! You can sometimes just walk in to have her do your a nails, but she has many regulars (the most I think for all of the women there) so it's always best to call to make an appointment with her!
It was my first time here and it will be my last time here. It was my first time getting acrylic (gel) nails and I was a bit skeptical, but I got them anyway. The manicurist I had was friendly, and she didn't try to sell too much. I thought she did a good job, because the nails came out supposedly "perfect" .. but ended up peeling on the sides in about a week. That completely wasted $45!
I was suppose to go back for a refill or whatever, but I never got around because they just got SO gross and ugly. I totally didn't feel like having fungi grow under there .. YUCK. Oh yeah, they file your nails like crazy! Now, my nails are thin and weaker than before, and they literally BEND.
The people that work here are a bunch of con artists. I've been here only once and it was about 10 years ago. I came here to have them remove my acrylics nails. At the time, I was a teenager, but polite nonetheless. They did a really bad job removing them and my nails looked horrific after wards but being the inexperienced teenager that I was, I honestly was just happy to get them off. I went to pay and they charged me around $20 which I paid and left. I did tip the girl anyway even though it was a bad job. I found out a little later that they intentionally ripped my off. They charged me more than double just to remove my nails. I did not get any other services. They didn't even file my nails or attempt to make them look a little nicer so there was no reason for the extra charge. They simply took advantage of a naive little girl and because of that I have never set foot in that salon again.
One of the most horrible salons you can go to. The staff is unfriendly. all they care about is getting your money, and they do not seem to care if you are happy with the requested service. The worst one of all is Heidi- I cant stand her. I went to have my gel nails done by her twice, but I noticed that by the 3rd or 4th day they started to peel around the egdes, contrary to her claim being "they last forever". She is a liar and her service is horrible, it is a waste of money spending $45 on a set of nails that chip around the edges on the 3rd day- considering I dont do any housework. Heidi` s service is horrible, in that I once went to perfect fingers requesting a pedicure and a 10 minute foot massage. The pedicure was done horribly, where I ended up having nailpolish on my toes that she didnt clean off, she barely filed my nails, and my grandma could do a better massage than Heidi. I dont even know if you can call it a masaage since she zoned out for half of it and was barely moving her fingers. In addition she fruitlessly tried to rip me off on the massage by trying to overcharge me by $5. After she did my pedicure, she didnt even thank me for my time and money, and sent me off to dry my toes, where I had to set up the toe dryer myself. In reality the staff has to help and thank the customer, set up dryers for the toes and hands, which didnt happen in this case. Overall I would say this is by far one of the worst salons i have been to. I wouldnt go back here if they paid me. There are hundreds of other salons in SF that are way better than "perfect fingers", which is ironic that they are called "perfect fingers "because there is nothing perfect about them, besides the way they rip people off. And if you do go there, dont go to Heidi, she is horroble and will rip you off.

Definitely the LEAST relaxing mani-pedi I have ever had. I do have to say they were fast though. They sat me down in a metal chair and had one woman doing my feet wile the other off to the side did my nails in such a way that I had one arm stretched across myself the entire time. It was pretty uncomfortable. Also, they kept trying to upsell me on stuff and the price can out kind of high. I should have checked what the price was before I let them start since none of their prices were posted. I have paid a lot less for places that were much nicer and cleaner. I won't be back, but it did work in a pinch and it was FAST.
Plain and simple this place is crappy and overpriced. I've tried a few times to give them the benefit of the doubt by trying different manicurists and I have given up hope.
My nails look like crap after one week..... I have messed up cuticles from them pratically filing my finger off... they came out crooked and not evenly buffed...
I will NEVER go back. I'd rather hold on in a nail emergency that pay the 70$ for a shitty job.
OK, I was desperate. I'm no longer in San Diego, and my pink and white acrylic nails are about to freaking fall off. I have looked high and low, but apparently no higher end salon or spa in SF does acrylic nails. Trust me, I've called about 30 places- I guess the super natural look is in. Not for me though, I like the way that acrylics keep their color, don't chip and only need to be dealt with every 2 weeks versus the 4 days until I need another manicure. That may be the So-Cal girl in me.
Anyway, I remembered that little nail shops where no one speaks fluent English always seem to do acrylic, so I decided that Perfect Fingers at Stonestown would be a safe bet.
The girl who I had my appointment with just had a shady vibe. Super shady, kept on telling me that she could do them as thin as I wanted. Anyway, within 5 minutes of meeting her I decided not to entrust my fingers to her and asked her instead to just take the nails off and do a manicure/pedicure. She ignore me and started to put acrylic on them, I asked her to stop, she said, "Oh no you'll like this.", I asked her to stop again, and she said "Oh your real nails will be too weak.", and went on, and I again asked her to stop and each time she had a different reason not to stop. Finally I pulled my hand away and told her , "I just want a manicure!" and finally she complied with my request.
She was right, my nails are weak and brittle but what do you expect, I've had pink and whites on them for 8 years! She filed them well, and gave me a french manicure, which looks good from far away, but upon closer inspection, the pink is bubbly, and the white though nicely shaped is also not as white as it could be.
My pedicure was satisfactory. But she cut when I told her not to cut and the whites she painted on my toes were two thin, looked like I just ran a line of white out. So I made her redo it and now it looks decent from far away but up close not as nice.
She did to my eyebrow waxing also telling me that I really needed it.........and I will say though it was more uncomfortable than I've had in the past, and it was done while my nails were drying so I was sitting up, not lying down in a chair........they came out nice, and she was thorough with her plucking.
Better at waxing than nails I say.
She loses stars for being pushy about making me do my eyebrows though, and for ignoring my requests for a manicure and not a new full set of nails.
Plus it is dirty in there, and just not a nice atmosphere. I'm all about the cheapie nail salon as that is all I went to in San Diego, but at least there, the other patrons are my age, and look nice and like people that I would hang out with, and the technicians try somewhat to be nice and listen to you. Here the other patrons were all no one I would look at and say "Oh my god, where did you get your nails done at?" which should have been my first hint. If you're working on beautifying yourself you probably should go where the beautiful people go to get beautiful. I am going to wait until l see someone with beautiful acrylic nails and then ask them where they get them done and go there, but until then stick with the manicures and pedicures.
One good thing though about the nails, she made it the most painless process to take off the pink and whites that I had. That was the least painful I have ever had in all my years of acrylic nails.
If you want to spend $80 for a 2 second pedi and a full set complete with bloody fingers from where they filed off a layer of your skin on numerous fingers, this is the place to be!

Before I discovered Silk, I used to go here...because they were quick and close to me and I figured, what the hell...a manicure is a manicure, its the same everywhere.
What made me stop going here was:
1. Pushy Manicurists trying to get me to have more sh*t done to my nails
2. Eyebrow waxing where I was constantly asked to wax my lips, whatever...when I said I only wanted eyes
3. Manicures that chip within 3 days of having them
4. The people that came there (that varies based on what day I would come)
Nevertheless, there were some good manicurists there that I liked so I would always try to book them (like Cindy, for example). But she was popular so I didn't always get her.
Anyway its a good last minute place but seriously, only if you're really desperate for something quick and fast, and if you can get Cindy to do your nails. Otherwise, go check out Silk where your nails stay perfect for a whole week (YES a whole week -- French Manicures too), or West Portal Spa who are usually good about taking walkins cause Silk books up by Thursdays.
I am one sick Yelp addict. Whilst getting my brows plucked and my nails buffed, I was thinking about how I'd Yelp yet another establishment . But I digress. Julie my nail maven simply posed the question "Brow?" and made plucking motions. She followed that with, "You need it." A minute and one hot wax application later, I felt my blood pressure rise 10 points with every tweezed hair. Aaaaaah nothing like the combined pain/pleasure sensation.
-1 star for the pain.

It's like an assembly line here. This place only gets 3 stars because of all the people I've tried there's only 1 superstar.
One word: Cindy.
She doesn't make you bleed *EVER*, she's friendly, and she keeps your acrylic nails thin.
May's good with facial waxing. My brows are proportional and shapely.
Go try Cindy. I'd rather pay more and not bleed at all!
Ok...today I went and got my nails done for the first time ever. I was at Stonestown and I walked by this place and said, "Ok...today is the day I'm gonna get fake nails." Especially becasue they had a sign outside that said "Special: Acrylic nails $25"
First of all, the lady cut my cuticles and made one of them bleed. I'm hoping against infection. Second...I know this was my first set of fake nails, but the manicurist messed up in a couple of spots; so my nails aren't flawless.
Third...the service turned out to be $50.00! Now I don't know if there is a difference between acrylics and a full set. Anyone wanna educate me??
Like the first reviewer, I too was asked if I wanted my brows plucked. Numerous times. I declined. I like my eyebrows how they are. I know Asians usually have thin eyebrows, and they probably think that to be the nice way of having them...but I've been there, done that, and I prefer my eyebrows be a bit thicker these days.
Anyway...I probably won't be going back to this salon if I ever decide to do this to my nails again.

Avoid this place at all cost!
I decided to get my first set of gel nails before work. I worked at Macy's which is right next to the salon. I've gone to Perfect Fingers to get my brows done, and was never terribly satifsied. Still, I wanted to give them another chance to win me over. I don't recall the name of the woman I got, but I can tell you that she draws on her brows (horribly)
I told them I had to be out in an hour. They acknowledged me and said no problem. The whole procedure took over an hour, making me late to work! For just gels! On top of this she cut me numerous and practically sanded down my cuticles. My fingers were sore for several days later. It was my first job getting gels, but they were really bad looking. Some were crooked and there were bubbles. The sign said that they would be $30, but when everything was done they said it would be $60! It was rediculous.
What is worse, and what will never make me go back there is....
TWO OF MY $60 GEL NAILS FELL OFF FOUR DAYS AFTER GETTING THEM DONE! I wasn't even doing anything too tedious! Just pulling up my pants and 'snap.'
If you want first class service, go somewhere else!
worst manicure ever! they tried to sell me crap all along the way- waxing, flowers on my toes, french manicure, interrupting the flow of my "pampering" by having to keep saying "no thank you" "no" "no!"
and ok- i gave in- my brows were less than tidy, so i said ok to a wax. then they put the pressure on so hard for a upper lip (i'm fair and don't have a problem here, seriously) that I caved. Now my whole lip area is broken out in giant pimples. gross!
also, it's less than a week later and my polish is all but gone. I usually paint my nails myself, so i'm used to a little chipping. This is the worst I've EVER seen. It's almost as if at some point they asked me if I wanted a good manicure, one that would last, and out of habit, i just said "no."

perfect in a pinch. perfect when it's 6:45 pm, you've sliced off a nail tip while chopping an onion, and your regular salon is 15 mins to closing. in a few words, perfect for dire nail emergencies. but there was a reason I stopped patronizing them in the late 90's -- they do nails like cowboys brand cattle: fast faster fastest. you will notice after a day or two that your gel is starting to lift. the quality of work is lacking and the service is impersonal. but they are in a mall w/ tons of regular customers and walk-ins so turnaround time has to be lickity split.
I won't fib, I know I will be back despite its shortcomings. most likely at 8 pm after a terrible incident involving my pretty fingernail and a slamming drawer
ps: Christine does orgasmic hand massages

I was on a break from class and the muni was being super slow so I decided to walk over to Stonestown in search of an eyebrow wax. I've been to the new nail place upstairs before (near macys) and was somewhat satisfied but not completely impressed.
I ended up coming upon Perfect Fingers (located next to Regis Salon). Surprisenly there was no one here (since usually I know they get pretty crowded). I asked for an eyebrow wax and they instructed me to a big, black leather computer chair near the register. I was a little "iffy" at first since I prefer eyebrow waxing to be done in a private room or something, not out in the open. Anyways a woman came out who was very friendly and told me she would be waxing them and giving me some shape...an arch.
I almost fell asleep in this chair (it was actually comfortable) during the waxing. She did a very careful and through job and took her time.
The wax cost me $12 and came out great. My eyebrows not have a nice arch and shape to them.
I would definitely return here in the future for another wax. Ask for Jenny!
