These guys are great! I read the reviews below and i say dont believe it. I think these reviews are tainted. I dont see how these people could possibly rip anyone off. I do see how alot of other brokers are upset though. These guys seem to have a list of NO BROKERS FEE apartments and they were more than willing to (drive me around brooklyn using thier own gas) showing me apartments until i found one that i really liked. They were well mannered and never asked me for a dime other than $50 dollars for a credit report which they ran in their lovely office on Broadway. I am now sitting pretty typing this in my own apartment which i share with 2 fellow artists here in Williamsburg. Thanks Peoples Choice. You rock!!!!

I can't believe what iv'e been reading. Those people who wrote these reviews are crazy. This is the best company I dealt with they are very friendly and professional. They do not charge any fee the only fee they charge is a credit check which is $50 and thats the companies policy but other than that they are great people.I recommend this company 100%.

I don't understand how this place has a license. I have lived in the city for a while , and have heard some horror stories, but this place tops the cake. My brother signed a lease with them and had all the checks written for a place that he was excited about at the beginning of the month for a mid-month move in. Of course when he went in to sign the lease and give them the final checks, he was surprised to find out there was an additional months rent he needed to pay ("I'm sorry--I know we said it was one month security, but now the owner wants two"). He felt great for having the deal "sealed" on the 3rd of the month. When he went into the office on the 14th (because apparently one of the checks needed to be written to the landlord and not the realty company---way to be on the ball) he also found out that there was some more paperwork they needed (again--way to be on the ball). He filled it out, some of which he had to scramble to find the information, and was told the keys would be ready at 9:30 the next day.
When he went in at 9:30--he was told to come back in the afternoon--they weren't quite ready yet. OK. He goes in again, and while he is sitting there, meets his neighbor moving into the apartment next door (who when they talked--were also upset about having the extra month's rent sprung on them). This is when he was told there was a little mix up, but the keys would be ready at 7:30pm.
He decides to sit in the A/C in the office until then--because it's easier than going back to his apartment again in the sweltering heat. Another person comes in to pick up keys--and because thay are so incredibly slow--my brother talks with them only to find out thay were trying to pick up keys to the SAME APARTMENT. He asks them who and when they signed when he realizes what the "mix-up" is, and is relieved to find out he signed the lease first (and his first deposit check CLEARED on the 1st)
The other girl gets called in before my brother, and when they pull my brother into the office, they tell him they can show him another apartment, because the other two people signed first.---My brother pulls out the copy of the check (but not the lease because they only had him sign one copy) and they are baffled that---yes my brother signed the lease first, and he has (most) documentation to prove it.
Unfortunately, THEIR AGENCY had had the landlord sign the other two leases. (which they tried to deny when th "couldn't find a copy of the Lease" the next day--even though I had found the owner's name and when we called him he said that he gave it back to them unsigned 5 days prior--because apparently the agency only showed him one of the three checks my brother had written--because they cashed the other two)
Technically--when they cashed the check--it was acceptance of the terms of the lease. Which means they screwed up badly enough to be in breach-of-contract. Also, when my brother cashed the checks they wrote to him it was acceptance of the termination of the contract. If he didn't need that money to sign for another place, we would have had grounds for a lawsuit. We would have loved to have seen the copy of the lease to see if they were hiding it because they DID have the landlord sign it--which they told my brother on the 14th that he did---because with they many stories they told us, it could still be possible. (they once claimed the agency only dealt with one of the two leases on the 16th--even though my brother talked to them both on the 15th)
Online reviews first---complaints to the Department of State second.
If these guys do have a license--I hope it can get revoked--other online reviews have said these people were frauds, and I hoped it was just a couple bad experiences---but in talking with people in the building my brother was supposed to have moved into---(one has lived there for two months and still doesn't have a copy of his lease)--it seems that a good experience with this place is the exception---not the rule.
BTW--the "extra Moth's rent" they stated that the owner wanted--is the "commission"--i.e. the broker's fee----they list them "by owner", and "no fee"---deceptive---Maybe
Our business with People's Choice Realty started out relatively normal. Our realtor seemed friendly and genuinely interested in helping us find a home. When push came to shove, after we made the agreement and signed the lease and payed our money the two realtors that we dealt with became hard to locate, hard to communicate with, unprofessional and rude. They gave us the wrong keys twice, and still on our third attempt we were left outside our apartment with no key to enter our legal home. We called the realtor and were yelled at, and told that it wasn't their problem (after they told us earlier that day that the keys would be inside). If we could give this company a 0 we would. These people are frauds, do not deal with them!

My husband and I arrive to the People's Choice Realty in Williamsburg Brooklyn to see an apartment 2 days ago and the office appearance was appalling, office was disorganize and agents were smoking inside. The office stink, there was an unpleasant smell inside that office. However the apartment they show me was decent but price to high. Hoping they get serious and clean up the location it's a big turn off especially if you are not a smoker.
